Nigerian soldiers, especially those at the war front should be subjected to a post-trauma mental examination and therapy. This will help give them mentally balance so as not to lose the humane side of their person.
So sad your colleagues had to go through these ordeals.

NYSC / Re: NYSC: Which States Will You Suggest I Choose For Service? by royalads: 6:27pm On Dec 17, 2019
If you have a laptop, I will advise you to avoid the busy states and go to a less busy state. Why, you may ask? The reason is so you can use the 12 months to learn a skill online. It could be web/mobile development, copywriting, UI/UX or any other skill that is on demand. By the end of 12 months, you should have mastered the skill enough to get a good-paying remote job or become a freelancer.
Start from YouTube and check out courses there. Have a feel of each and know each one that suits you. Head to Udemy or Lynda and pay for courses. They are quite cheap. Less than $50 in most cases. Follow the course religiously and build your portfolio as you go.

This is the advice I will give myself if I'm to repeat my NYSC again.

Politics / Re: Nigeria’s Refineries In Ruins Despite Mous With China, India, Others by royalads: 6:06am On Dec 02, 2019
Why do I have a feeling that some people in high places are intentionally working against any plan to build refineries in this country because they benefiting massively from the importation of fuel and other crude products?

One thing I know is that, any day we the citizens rise up with a single voice to come against all the nonsense happening in the country, that is the day they will stop. And its also the day this country will take a turn for good. But for now, lets continue to enjoy the ride.

Career / Re: What Is The Way Forward For A Fresh Graduate? by royalads: 8:44am On Nov 30, 2019
emmadeking:

Which body gives certification in PMP? I got one during my service year from British Project Management Academy. Don't know if it is recognized as I'm yet to get any opportunity with it and in dire need of experience.

PMP is an American certification while PRINCE2 is for Britain. Further research on Google will enlighten you more. Any certification you got during NYSC is mostly trash. They just issue that to signify that you have 'heard' about the skill. Nobody will employ you with that.

Career / Re: What Is The Way Forward For A Fresh Graduate? by royalads: 7:18am On Nov 30, 2019
My advice to any fresh graduate is to get certifications. Go get real certifications. I cannot overemphasize the importance of getting certifications. My friends who are HR managers in big Companies tell me they have vacancies. Plenty lot of them. But they rarely get people with the required certifications and couple of years of experience to take them up. For instance, there is a very high demand for Business analysts, HR analysts and Managers and Project managers with CIPM or PMP, PRINCE2 or SIGMA. These certifications don't come cheap but it sets you ahead of others. Also, the startup pay for them is not bad too.

Another option is to acquire IT skills. You can never go wrong with that. Thankfully, with YouTube, you don't have to pay through your nose to get started. Simply search for 'Skill name + tutorials' on YouTube. Find videos that are over 5 hours long. Take the course religiously. After that, register on Upwork and Freelance to offer your skill there. This is what thousands of 'reasonable' youths are doing to make thousands of dollars month. If you have a smartphone, laptop and access to internet and you are still broke, then your head needs to be checked seriously.

Education / Re: How Can I Make A First Class In Law School? by royalads: 5:11pm On Nov 29, 2019
@OP. I am advising you to start reading RIGHT NOW. Don't wait till end of January when classes resume. Get in touch with one of the peeps that was called this week, collect their notes (e-notes), classroom notes and textbooks and start reading now.

Also, pay very close attention to your drafts. Drafting is everything in the legal profession and you get to draft in all the 5 courses offered in the Law school. So start drafting now.

Don't forget to start networking before and after law school. The quality of your practice as a lawyer will depend on the quality of your clients.

Finally, ensure you pick a location that will enable them post you to one of the top firms in Lagos or Abuja to do your externship. You will gain practical experience that will help in your Bar Exams and also, you will increase chances of getting retained in the future.

Business / Re: The Street Hustle Is Frustrating Me (needs Help) by royalads: 7:08pm On Nov 11, 2019
@ OP. By hustle I want to assume you mean online fraudulent deals right? So that means you have a laptop, access to electricity and data too right? Instead of the 'hustle' in quotes, head over to YouTube and find tutorials to train you on any of the in-demand skills. It could be digital marketing, web development, data analysis and so all. All you need to do is type 'digital marketing tutorials'. Go for courses of 5hours + plus. Use the CC converter site to download the course and follow it religiously. After that, start applying for jobs both online and offline. The good thing about these jobs is that you don't need a college degree to get an entry-level job. It is more of what you can do. Please and please do this and stop tarnishing the internet space for we legit online business owners ok.

Business / Re: Life Decisions Goes Wrong... by royalads: 7:24am On Nov 11, 2019
@OP I've gone through your entire and since you created it in October you've been all over the place looking for who to come to your aid. For your information, nobody is having it easy in this present economy but you don't see everybody running all over the place begging. You have to man up, tuck out your balls and get out their to hustle like a man. Come on. You are even a lawyer. A career that opens up vast opportunities if you learn to think outside the box. My friend, get out there and change your life. Nobody is having it easy and nobody will leave their thousand and one problems to come give you a hand out. Your question now should be... What services can i offer people now that they can pay me money for? Not who will give me a job. Man up jor. It's annoying.
