maivd: Did ibos vote for him? So stop crying that he didn't honour an agreement when you looked the other way during elections. Your view is myopic, very myopic. He has bribed his way into the office of the president of the federal Republic of Nigeria, not the president of the few Nigerians who voted him in. Besides, there were still some Igbos who voted him. How about that. |

SalamRushdie: Your useless govt increased fuel prices by 600 percent and triggered a 1000 percent inflation yet you think 100 percent tarriff increase for Telco is too much ? Do u know all telcos have been running at a loss since Tinubu came You have a point, but if you do the math's, economy of scales is to their advantage here. But if 100% will rock their boat, they should insist, or go on strike. Afterall, it is the downtrodden Nigerian that will always suffer it. The government is actually more useless than you know. |

So if mtn increases salary by 100%,importation cost up by about 950% due to naira devaluation, fuel price up by almost 1000%, overhead expenses shoot up by about 400%, you want them to keep revenue the same? How do you want them to pay salaries. Idiot! |

Christianity Etc › Re: How Does Incantation Makes Spirit To Come Into Human Reality by ruffhandu: 1:05am On Jan 02, 2025 |
Creativeseeker: This incantations of various African traditional religions practice is it directly related to alleged spells that some books claim Solomon practiced to become the wisest man ever in the World It is like a formula. 1+1=2. Anyhow 1 jam another 1, they will automatically become 2. Same way, certain words, mixed with the disposition of the inner being of the speaker, activates particular spirit beings. Some, after the incantations, you have to carry out further acts, like making a mark on the ground (like circle, or the star of david, which are called porals), which acts as open doors for these spirits to move from the plane where they exist to our world, or performing rituals by shedding animal or human blood. From my brief up there, some spirits are easy to summon, while others are not. In most cases, the more difficult they are to summon, the more difficult they are to be sent away. For instance, a love portion prepared by the crushing of the heads of 7 tortoise and eaten by a man, is more difficult to break than the 'touch-and-follow' bought from an aboki in the market. A 'goodluck charm' ordered online, is less effective than a goodluck charm prepared using a cow. But, the demonic trick is, once you start by buying the seemingly 'harmless and cheap' charm, it works like a gas fire and fizzles away. Then you have tasted the luck the demons brought, and it disappears. This will make you long for more. You will now be asked to kill a chicken (which will attract a fairly stronger demon that can drag more luck to you than the previous). Not too long later, but certainly longer than the previous, it fizzles away. Then a stronger demon will have to be summonsed with goat's blood. But one thing to note is, for every demon/spirit you summon, you become exposed and more susceptible to being attacked and possessed by demons, unless you specifically employ particular spirits to protect you from particular spirits/issues, which also comes at hefty price. Life is much much deeper than we know it. But whatever you do, stay away from such, it never ends well. |

Family › Re: "My Wife's Ex Is Back, And Their Romance Is Rekindling – Should I Walk Away? by ruffhandu: 3:04pm On Dec 31, 2024 |
Sapasenator: Hello Nairalanders,
I am completely lost and need advice. My name is Olumide Adeyanju(Not my real name), and I’m a 42-year-old civil engineer based in Lagos. I’ve been married to my wife, Tola, for seven years. We have a son together, Jidenna, who is five years old. Our marriage hasn’t been perfect, but I thought we had something solid—until recently.
When I met Tola, she was a divorcee. She told me her first marriage to a man named Dapo Olatunji ended after three years due to irreconcilable differences and I believed her. According to her, Dapo had anger issues and was overly controlling. She said she left the marriage to protect her mental health and focus on building a better life for herself. At the time, I admired her courage, and we built a beautiful relationship.
Last month, everything changed. Tola and I were invited to a wedding in Lekki. As fate would have it, Dapo was also at the wedding. It was the first time they were seeing each other in nearly 10 years. I noticed they exchanged pleasantries, and while it seemed cordial at first, something about the way they looked at each other didn’t sit well with me.
In the weeks that followed, I started noticing subtle changes in Tola’s behavior. She began acting distant and spending more time on her phone, often smiling at her screen like a teenager in love. When I asked her what was going on, she brushed it off, saying it was just "work stress."
Then, two weeks ago, I came home early from work and found her on a video call with Dapo. She didn’t realize I was home, so I overheard parts of their conversation. They were laughing and reminiscing about their past together—things like how they used to travel to Abuja for weekend getaways and the time he bought her a surprise gift for her birthday. It felt like I was intruding on a private moment between lovers.
When I confronted her, she admitted that she and Dapo had been talking regularly since the wedding. She claimed it was "nothing serious" and that they were just "catching up as friends." But I don’t believe her. Her behavior has changed so much. She’s more secretive, and I even found out she met up with him last Saturday without telling me. She said it was a "closure" meeting, but why does she need closure after all these years?
Now I’m stuck. I love Tola, but it feels like her heart is being drawn back to Dapo. I’ve spoken to my elder brother, Kunle, and he thinks I should stand my ground and fight for my marriage. But my best friend, Tunde, says I should let her go if she’s already emotionally checked out.
I don’t know what to do. Should I confront Dapo directly? Should I give Tola an ultimatum to stop talking to him? Or should I quietly walk away and let her decide who she really wants to be with?
Please, Nairalanders, I need your honest opinions. Have you experienced or heard of a situation like this? How do I handle it? Don't be a mugu and dull yourself, to me, her attitude is already damaging. Show.some fury and be ready to throw whatever you have with her out the window. 1. Hack her phone. 2. Drag her to a meeting with her family. 3. In that meeting, issue an ultimatum. 4. Tell her you have forgiven her for cheating (she has fvcked that man 2 weeks ago) 5. If she doesn't cut him.off immediately (since she said the fvck was closure), kick her out. I can't stand a cheating woman, no matter how beautiful she looks. 6. But before you do all these, make sure you are not a dirty cheat yourself. |

Later, many microsoft word packages are set to use American English, flagging British spellings as wrong sometimes. Many use autocorrection and thus dish out write-ups with mixed (American and British english). Today, it seems very few or nobody cares anymore. |

Nigerians always demoralize their country and don't know what God has done for them . It is not true, they what God has done for them. They know they are being punished with bad leaders, perhaps because of how bad they are. That is why people who think they are reasonable don't have the courage to call out evil leadership because they are benefitting, and are Aldo lying in wait for an opportunity to take over as evil leaders. They know, that is why they can be bought for $1 to vote criminals. They know. |

CaptainFM1: November salary is meant to be spent on December, while December salary is for January. I'm already wearing that shoe. It goes back to what the President said in his media chat,... We should be proactively planning.
There's still like a week before the month finish. We need to be disciplined as a people. All over the world, december salary is paid before Christmas, Nigeria shouldn't be an exception. The private sector, especially the banks, in Nigeria, never pays december salary after Christmas, Never! You read in that same news that November salary was paid in December, second week or so. Is that also ok to you? The president advising proactivity, is he proactive in dealing with Nigerians himself? Why shouldn't he take teh initiative at proactivity and pay the salaries upfront. Nigeria has the capacity to set a date for salary payment and maintain it, maybe lag one or two times in a year. But rara, they won't. If you investigate this you would find out that some govt officials simply place workers' salaries in a fixed deposit and earn interest for few weeks before they release the money. The president can fix this if he wants to, it seems he just doesn't care. |
