i am just curious. Why is it only in the south that riots and protests are breaking out? Or are northerners not in Nigeria? Just curious.

They keep more money in Aso Rock than any government house. If they keep money in their bedroom to buy votes as you have said, it means they bought votes to bring Buhari to power. They said Tinubu brought two bullion vans on the eve of 2019 presidential election, yet PDP won 3 out of the 6 States in South West without spending a dime and without much labour. This shows the money is for APC polling & Party agents. Buhari just told us that the Northern governors bought those high voting numbers for him to win he is now preventing them from using the same method for Tinubu, then he is a failure.

He swore to an Oath before the Chief Justice of the Federation who is the Head of the Supreme Court to abide by the Constitution, he now went to give a National Broadcast less than 24 hours to override Supreme Court injunction. The LAW must revolt against him.

All of them politicians buy votes. Vote buying doesn't neccessarily mean handing over money to ordinary voters, it may mean, like you pointed out, paying money to agents and influencers. Let them do all their transactions electronically without fear. no cash! Let's move forward in this country abeg.

Let me explain something to you. When Ganduje said he was not ready to receive Buhari in Kano the other time, it was after deliberations he changed his mind. He never said Buhari should not come to Kano but he was not ready to receive him for those official assignments.

I understand Reno Omokri predicament. As I have said severally on nairaland, I have known Mallam El Rufai when he was in his early 30s, mid 30s up till 1998 when Abacha died. Immediately Abdulsalam Abubakar became Head of State he became one of the advisers to the government and the most prominent member of the Presidential Advisory Committee. He was a very prominent member of the cabal that planned 1999 election / transition program and brought Obasanjo to power. He was around 36 or 37 years as at that time. In his early 30 he founded the Gamji Forum - a strong socio - political forum in the North for awakening the consciousness of the youth.

As a very young man I observed him closely . At villa when Abdulsalam was in power, his inputs were needed virtually on all aspects of decision, yet he was the youngest out of all of them.

I strongly urge everyone in the cities to exercise caustion. Do not be involved in any protest, it may claim your own head. Come to even think of it, cashless policy was introduced many years ago, it baffling that Nigerians still feel this way. I expected uproar from the villages alone, not the cities.


Simply avoid the use of cash, and by that, you need only little to survive. Do ALL permissible transaction electronically. It may involve only shopping for food items from big store and malls, which is far better than buying naira exorbitantly. You may suspend some luxuries and some diets for now if they cannot be aquired using electronic payment. You may have to go a long distance to transact, this is just a phase.

This is a situation we are in and pressure will increase untill elections. If Buhari bows to pressure, the politicians have won. But if he can hold on till after the elections, I tell, the agitation will die naturally.

This is one of the 'credible elections' Buhari promised. He is doing everything to get this right. if He does, he will retire fulfilled feeling that at least this may the only gift he gave to Nigerians. but if he fails, he may forever be feeling like a failure.

Just be wise and enter survival mode. This is nothing for those who have experienced kidnapping and armed robbery in Nigeria.

Since this incident happened I've pondered and wondered what could have gone wrong that the four boys weren't bold enough to talk and challenge those who beat and paraded them in public, leading them to where they were eventually killed.
Now the whole issue is clearer; the boys "ignorantly" got themselves involved with a cultist who operates with a gun, all in a bid to get their money back from a debtor.
Below is what actually happened according to an insider....

An indigene of Aluu owed Ugonna some money and had vowed not to pay back. Ugonna who was popularly known as Tipsy had gone to meet with a fearless University guy (name withheld) to help them track the debtor who had been on the run.
‘Mr Fearless guy’ (a cultist) who was feared by many in the school had accepted to accompany his friends to get the debtor tracked down in exchange for a percentage of the debt.
They were joined by their room-mate, Chidiaka. On their way to the place, they met one of their friend, Tekena, who knew nothing about the plan, and he joined, just for the hype as is normal with young boys of juvenile age.
That made 5 boys - Ugonna, Lloyd, Chidiaka, Tekena and ‘Mr Fearless Guy’ that got to the debtor’s compound. Unknown to the other four, ‘Mr Fearless Guy’ who was contracted to intimidate the debtor just to get the money paid, went with a gun.
When they got to the debtor’s house around 12am, a fight ensued, as the debtor confronted them. A next door neighbour, a woman started shouting on top of her voice, that they were thieves, attracting other bad boys around the area, whom were mainly “vikings”, the rival cult group of the one on contract.
They swung into action by tipping the vigilante group who confronted the boys, referring to them as thieves. In the process of beating the boys, while they were trying to prove their innocence, the fifth boy, ‘Mr Fearless Guy’, who is a cultist, brought out his gun to scare the people, and he escaped, leaving the rest four at the mercy of the villagers.
The explanation they tried to give fell on the community’s deaf ears as the people insisted they must be killed....and unfortunately they were lynched!
Note:- this story is an eyewitness account from the 5th boy who escaped. He narrated this to Ugonna and Lloyd’s friend who has pleaded that his identity be kept secret.

So where did Loyd join them? Is the storyteller still afraid of the 'fearless'? This is one person's story.

Seriously, when APC was hustling to get into power, I thought majority of Nigerians were sane enough to see through them. Of all that was said about the past, it was shocking some people were still flying that flag.

PDP was bad, this I knew, but I was 90% sure it was better than APC in 2015 considering the crop of people in each party then.

A look at the 6th and 12th items on this list is enough to tell any right-thinking Nigerian to run far away from them, yet, even after four year of deteriorating situations, they were voted in again. Well, we may say no better person per say came forward in 2019.


Even now, I wonder how they succeeded. Now we are seeing the obvious again, I pray what happened in 2015 and 2019 will not rear its ugly head again in 2023. May affliction not arise a second time.
