I think the people who went or those positions didn't even think they would win, they just filled it up. The positions seemed leprous and so other people just distanced themselves from it. The masses only looked up to the presidential seat but decided to vote LP all the way, the rejected seats now have victory

It's so sad that APC realised that they are losing in places like Lagos and rivers and have resorted to violence to avoid the shame.

I learnt Wike's boys are trying to force people to vote APC. Now Rivers is at least 90% Obidient (I think I'm right to say this). Then i wondered why wike will be engaging in this kind of shameful act. Then someone explained this to me:

Wike knows Rivers State is fully Obedient, he is only trying to get Tinubu 25%.
The reason for this act of shame is he feels Obi will not win generally, then if the lot falls on Tinubu, he can boast that he delivered Rivers and be protected. But the one wike doesn't want is for Atiku to win. If Atiku becomes president, he knows he may end up in kirikiri.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, on Friday, described as “utter rubbish” an audio clip circulating on social media wherein it was alleged that he alongside his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, and the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, revealed plans to scuttle the forthcoming election.

In a statement issued in Abuja by his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Mr. Phrank Shaibu, the former vice president said the clip confirmed that the ruling party would take their propaganda to new heights a few hours to balloting.

The statement read in part, “We warned last week that as the election approaches there will be a spike in the rate of propaganda on social media. With barely 24 hours to the poll, we have witnessed propaganda from not just the All Progressives Congress but the Labour Party as well.

“In this latest drive, a montage of speeches delivered by Atiku, Tambuwal, and Okowa since last year were manipulated and pieced together to give an impression that they were discussing plans to rig Saturday’s election. In this age of artificial intelligence technology, even dead people can be portrayed as delivering speeches. This is nothing new!

“For the record, Atiku has run in two presidential elections and has never been indicted or prosecuted for election violence or vote buying.

“But some people think they can sell a narrative of Atiku manipulating this election. This is indeed the height of desperation, the last kick of a dying horse. The APC and the Labour Party must note that elections are not won on social media but at the polling units.”

Justifying why Nigerians should disregard the audio conversation, Atiku added, “It is unfortunate that those seeking power will engage in outdated defeatist tactics. How can Tambuwal be referring to Atiku by his full name in a one-on-one private conversation? This is nonsensical, similar to the type of meaningless chatter about President Muhammadu Buhari being dead and replaced by one Jubril from Sudan.”

He called on PDP supporters nationwide not to get involved in similar propaganda but back the party in its bid to rescue the nation and her citizens, starting from Saturday’s presidential election.

“When they descend to the level of baseless propaganda, we will rise above it with dignity and respond with our Permanent Voter Cards. This election is a watershed in Nigerian history. Nigerians must not lose sight of what is most important, which is the need to rebuild this broken system, revitalize the economy, and improve security and the hope of the people in a united Nigeria,” he added.

The PDP presidential candidate called on the police and other security agencies as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission to rise above the board by playing their part to ensure free, fair and credible polls.

He further charged security agencies to go after those behind the audio clip and bring them to book in compliance with Section 123(c) of the Electoral Act 2022.

TAMBUWAL: It will be extremely difficult in a way. You see, it depends on certain fundamental indices. If Nigerians are having only two options clearly from two regions, then one of them will be.
The numbers will count in this case and we all know the voting strength of each bloc in this country.

OKOWA: It is obviously a major issue. We should look at the things that will bring us result. We must also look at the process that makes one of our best to be president.

TAMBUWAL: I don't like mistakes. I have won my elections 5 times consecutively. You all know that I have the support of my home base but it is not about me. It is about Atiku Abubakar and making him president.

OKOWA: We cannot act in disregard of normal rule. We must give INEC money to run their normal processes on their own. They must mobilize their people for the purpose of the election. That is going to make a stronger impact. Not the way we are going through.

ATIKU: What are those areas that will be difficult to win in the elections

OKOWA: The INEC officials need to take instructions from the PDP agents and there is no doubt about the process. They will be good enough that is not questionable.

TAMBUWAL: Are you sure that this time we can win the elections?

OKOWA: YES! It must be done in such a way that it is skewed towards the PDP.

They are not copying anything, there is no cashless economic policy anywhere in the world. Go to any developed countries, people withdraw cash anytime they need it, they carry cash when needed. If I don't have first hands information about this, I won't say it.

For Kano, I may believe this. But many other northern states, I may not agree. But overall, it seems to me that Kwankwaso and Atiku have the north more than Tinubu. The later seems to be relying heavily of cash inducement to gain access to the North.

They said Tinubu brought two bullion vans on the eve of 2019 presidential election, yet PDP won 3 out of the 6 States in South West without spending a dime and without much labour. This shows the money is for APC polling & Party agents. Buhari just told us that the Northern governors bought those high voting numbers for him to win he is now preventing them from using the same method for Tinubu, then he is a failure.

He swore to an Oath before the Chief Justice of the Federation who is the Head of the Supreme Court to abide by the Constitution, he now went to give a National Broadcast less than 24 hours to override Supreme Court injunction. The LAW must revolt against him.

All of them politicians buy votes. Vote buying doesn't neccessarily mean handing over money to ordinary voters, it may mean, like you pointed out, paying money to agents and influencers. Let me explain something to you. When Ganduje said he was not ready to receive Buhari in Kano the other time, it was after deliberations he changed his mind. He never said Buhari should not come to Kano but he was not ready to receive him for those official assignments.

I understand Reno Omokri predicament. As I have said severally on nairaland, I have known Mallam El Rufai when he was in his early 30s, mid 30s up till 1998 when Abacha died. Immediately Abdulsalam Abubakar became Head of State he became one of the advisers to the government and the most prominent member of the Presidential Advisory Committee. He was a very prominent member of the cabal that planned 1999 election / transition program and brought Obasanjo to power. He was around 36 or 37 years as at that time. In his early 30 he founded the Gamji Forum - a strong socio - political forum in the North for awakening the consciousness of the youth.

As a very young man I observed him closely . At villa when Abdulsalam was in power, his inputs were needed virtually on all aspects of decision, yet he was the youngest out of all of them.

I left Abuja and returned to Lagos when I heard he had First Class in Quantity Surveying.
