The monkey took a lost puppy on the street of New Delhi, India and they have been together since. Local media reports had it that the monkey never lets the puppy stay out of his reach. It is amazing because monkeys and dogs are not always friendly. https://i2.wp.com/www.viviangist.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/This-monkey-adopted-a-lost-puppy-6.png https://i2.wp.com/www.viviangist.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/This-monkey-adopted-a-lost-puppy-3.png https://i1.wp.com/www.viviangist.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/This-monkey-adopted-a-lost-puppy-4.png

The Ogboni Fraternity is regarded by some as the most powerful secret organization in Nigeria. According to the Nigerian Constitution, you cannot be a member of a secret cult and run for office of the President of the Federal Republic. This has not stopped rumours from flying about that some former Nigerian presidents are devoted members of this cult. At any rate, this piece is on how one of the secret membership forms of the Ogboni Fraternity in Nigeria looked like in July 1955. That was five years before Nigeria got independence and precisely 60 years ago. The form has an insignia of a skeleton, a coffin and a club. Some Christian priests and imams also held these cards as members. The membership form had spaces for name, sex, age, education, tribe, family history, occupation, financial position, any other society the person belonged to, the name of the nominator, the date of membership and the name of the president. Curiously, there was no space for the religion of the member. Ogbonis do not consider religious affiliation and anyone is free to join irrespective of religious leanings.

I was just minding my business (well, not exactly) when I started going through someone’s Instagram page. The person had pictures of herself and Nigerian international act Tinie Tempah. It was then I realized that he was in Abuja. My Abuja! And I heard no word of it. I quickly ran to his page to see what he was up to while in the city, and to say I was disappointed would be putting it mildly. Tinie Tempah decided to further prove the West’s African-Jungle-Safari stereotype right with the kinds of pictures he posted, instead of at least showing another side of Nigeria (or Africa as he puts it) that they’ve never seen or heard of. Tinie Tempah must have travelled out of Abuja’s metropolis to get all the pictures he posted. Maybe to some remote village in Niger state or Nasarawa State. The pictures showed women hawking and carrying things on their heads, while the rest were taken in brown soiled villages with bare footed children playing football. A perfect set up for all those Aid for Africa campaigns.Screen Shot 2016-01-20 at 11.12.44In other shots he had children filed behind him; in another one he was photographed addressing a village council and guess what he captioned it? “I roll with the chiefs back in Africa”Screen Shot 2016-01-20 at 11.12.22 So, my question to Tinie is: Didn’t you see any Instagram worthy thing about Abuja? (besides the two armed police guards you snapped with) Why did you decide to ignore the good things about Nigeria and instead saw the need to reinforce what the West assumes of Nigeria and Africa as a vast land filled with nothing but thatch houses and barefooted hungry children. You could have at least taken a photo of your hotel room so your 600k + followers don’t assume you slept in an open field or in a cave with Lions and Tigers crying at night. Maybe I find this disturbing because it is coming from a Nigerian. Karrueche Tran was here in Abuja and she not only Instagrammed the orphanage and IDP camps she visited, but also shared images of her partying and posing in front of the Abuja Hilton. She gave her millions of followers a true idea of what life is like down here. A co-existence of the rich, not so rich and the poor – where development and underdevelopment both interface. That was what I expected of Tinie. That would have been the one good thing that you’d have done for your “motherland” as you aptly described it on your Instagram.

Controversial Ghanaian preacher, Bishop Obinim has done the unbelievable but to some people think it’s nothing but magic! The Bishop who caused outrage after he stamped his foot on a pregnant woman’s stomach to heal her of an unknown disease and also earlier this month stomped on a woman’s stomach to make her fertile has done even something more alarming. According to Ghana Celebrities website, a female church member of the Bishop died and her family members came to meet him to please help them recover her international passport. Right during his ministration, the Bishop went into the spiritual realm, fell under the anointing and within few minutes returned from his journey and brought out the passport from his back pocket as church members went wild in jubilation. If you still doubt this existed, my brother, my sister, watch the video below. But then, for the people that still think the world has a long way to go, have a rethink, the world was not created yesterday, well the world might not end now too, but the things of the end time are HERE. Believe it or not. Immediately I watched the video, I said to myself, what? This guy had this passport at the back of his pocket before he went into the realm. Why didn’t the passport fall from the air into his left hand which was wild opened, why didn’t it fall on the floor of the church right in the presence of everybody, okay lets even say the Passport wanted to be around the Bishop why not the front Pocket that was visible to all, why the back pocket that was right behind? The video below… Bishop Obinim retrieves passport from the dead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn9KwSoMUHY |

Enyimba’s preparation for the Super Four in Kaduna suffered severe hitches on Monday afternoon after players and officials of the club were robbed at gunpoint at Okene, Kogi State on their way to Kaduna. The People's Elephant were going to Kaduna from Otta where they have been having intensive pre-season training ahead of the NPFL and the Caf Champions League. A top official of the club, Chukwudi Okanume told Goal that dare devil armed robbers waylaid their bus, and after shooting sporadically into the air, robbed the players and officials of personal electronics and money. Okanume confirmed that no player was molested and that there was no injury but that the players were yet to recover from the shock of the armed attacks. He said the team had to stop in Okene and that the players are being psyched up to rid the trauma of the attack off their minds so as to continue the journey. “We were attacked around Okene by armed robbers who came with lots of guns. They were shooting into the air. The players lost all what they had on them including phones, money, laptops and other valuables,” Okanume told Goal. “We have not sat down to take stock of what was stolen. Everything happened in broad daylight but there was nobody to help us.” Enyimba are the defending champions of the league and this brings to two the cases of armed robbery attacks against football clubs after the celebrated case of former champions, Kano Pillars who were attacked on March 5, 2015 in Abuja on their way to honour a league match in Owerri against Heartland. Pillars were not that lucky as five of their players suffered serious gunshot injuries after the attacks as the armed bandits made away with their valuables. |
