David Moyes believes Adnan Januzaj will best be used in a No. 10 role long-term for Manchester United.I can imagine the scale of criticisms if he tries to do so now! |
Goal understands that the Mexican, who recently spoke of his frustration over a lack of first-team opportunities under David Moyes, has been assured of his importance to the club going forward. |
@ bigtt76. How can I get in contact with you? |
Interested in CISA too... anybody who can help with pertinent info!? |
dademola: like afrodoc sed, u're kinda preaching to d choir!! We all knw d worst players wld still hav thier "moments of genius"!! There wld be gifs of titus bramble on d internet, that can almost persuade a barca scout dt he has finally seen a long term replacement for puyol!K O ![]() |
Can't remember the song very well but it isn't Nigerian - the guy is Angolan I think - Kaysha or something like that and the chorus goes something like "I will love you for the rest of my life..." - smashing love song I tell ya! Anyone who knows it please help me out. But for my wedding it will definitely be that song and (or) Phil Vassar's "Like I never loved before" (a bit off topic cuz this isn't Nigerian) --- and if I do not shed tears that day, nothing else will ever make me to. I actually intend to sing 'em to my bride! ![]() |
I'm not "originally" a FUTArian... just concluded PGD there and hoping to nick admission into SOS, Statistics precisely. Not particularly well-versed about matters in the school; I stayed in an apartment outside school and was mostly in Akure Thursdays and through the weekends - longest I've stayed around is about one week - didn't quite get to mingle much with a lot of the students. But I guess it'd be nice to stick around and maybe get to know a thing or two...! Hope I dey welcome? |
@ OP Not wanting to sound overly critical... but your design needs to have a theme; or a "story" that motivates it. So what is yours!? All these lines and patterns you have mashed up together, what do they represent!? |
@ Elampiro, Your problem is you seem to take anything said about Rooney as either negative or critical of him! All I've just said is "theoreticaly" I think Rooney will help UTD better if used as a left winger... no insults, abuses or criticism! About the issue of "drifting", these lads are intelligent, they will sort themselves out during the course a game the coach really doesn't have to spell everything out for 'em! |
What do you guys think about So'ton's Llana!!? Do you think he can fit into our squad... I kinda like the fella. |
SailorXY: Jones should be stationed in the middle for now as a stop-gap option, his tackling is key to reduce the way our midfield get over-run by almost any midfield we play against. His football brains is not as poor as many people here like to describe it.For once, a sniff of compliment for the manager... Thats the thing, everybody has a sub or combo of subs that they prefer; for the manager, it isn't so straightforward. We would do well by praising rather than criticizing when the man gets us a result --- fo'luke, luck or however --- its like "always" berating a child even when they do something right, a little praise now and then is good for confidence! |
elampiro: Rooney was very dangerous each time he went to the left. He was whipping in dangerous crosses. I wanted more of such to find RVP.I am glad you noticed this... when Moyes says Rooney is his "second striker" and will only top if RvP is out but is still very important to the club, you and many other fans misunderstood and took offence. This statement only served to underline Rooney's versatility and how he could be very helpful to the cause. If we can get Rooney playing from that left side; we would be half-way to solving a lot of our creativity issues. It'd give us a run of endless possbilities attack-wise --- Kagawa and Adnan may get the chance to play in the center behind the striker, We could even have RvP and Chicha on the field at the same time, while Rooney is like our "CRonaldo7", cutting in on his right foot and shooting or giving good crosses/passes from there while working hard to cover for the left-back (unlike CR7). IMHO, theoretically, Rooney as left-winger is better for the side overall than him in the center or partnering RvP! Anyway, I believe Moyes will slowly (frustratingly) make this come to pass --- "frustratingly" because there are so many that will need convincing (Rooney himself included) for such an idea to fly! |
nitrogen: His (Moyes) sillines keeps increasing at a geometric rate, stvpid substitutions made us a victim of Arsenals possession football today, when Vidic got injured, he should have brought in a winger to play valencia's position, and valencia move to right back, while smalling joins Evans at the heart of defence, and Jones is retained at that DM, but his knowledge bank was completely empty, check out the Giggs sub too. Rvbbish manager.Park well jor... if you were so good, why don't you quit your day job and go and manage Abiola Babes. The mman has a number of options to follow, just because he didn't go with yours, he is silly... and if he had done as you suggested and we lost the lead nkor!? You will still come here and rake --- just enjoy the victory and let us hear word jare. ![]() |
I happy die... Perhaps this is the morale booster we've all been waiting for. Irrespective of who we play, I hope the players keep the appetite they showed today. It is vital! |
To be fair, Wazza has worked hard...for once, we can say he has worked like a 250k a week player! |
Big miss... Wazza! |
No Vidic... Defendinghas to be top notch! |
Mehn, if this "rubbish" will give us all 3pts, I don't mind oh...make dem continue like dis jor! |
Sunderland a goal to the good... still early days but my, oh my... isn't this turning out to be some weekend!? |
I like Moyes' spin on the "Young dive incident" David Moyes on Ashley Young's diving: "The question is loaded towards the player. That is wrong. The question should be 'did the referee get the decision right or not'. He was two yards away from it. For me, where I was, I definitely thought it was a penalty. Everybody can now stand back and watch it from TV. I was one of many who said I would definitely have retrospective action for diving because it would make the referees job much better. But on the night, if you had said, could you get the referee any closer, I don't think you could." Ref was very close... and definitely saw something that made him give it otherwise he probably wouldn't have! |
montelik: if Carrick, Cleverley and Rafael are unavailable or not fully fit. I sincerely doubt we will get a result today. dademola: wots d latest on cleverley n carrick? montelik: if Carrick, Cleverley and Rafael are unavailable or not fully fit. I sincerely doubt we will get a result today.Nothing concrete yet.. this culled from Eurosport TEAM NEWS Striker Danny Welbeck, suffering with a knee injury, is the only player not in contention for Manchester United, who hope to have the likes of Jonny Evans, Rafael, Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley available. |
Spurs losing at home to Newcastle... omo na wa oh! |
elampiro: I am not watching. But so far Bale is very promising for Madrid. He will soon be among the top 3 for Ballon dor. We are soon to have Messi, Ronaldo, Bale and Neymar as 4 world best.shey you yourself see why we are vexing for our "supposed best player" Rooney... Bale and Neymar of yesterday kwa --- after all these years, shouldn't Rooney be in the running for at least a top-10 world best spot!? |
afrodoc: The problem is DM might not be thinking that way. If he is still thinking with his Everton cap on he will view this match as a "must not lose" rather than a "must win". Expect to see Phil Jones at RB behind Nani or Valencia, if Carrick is not fit then he could draft Jones to midfield and play Smalling at RBMaybe earlier in the season I'd have agreed but I think Moyes is growing into it now. I think he is getting bolder now; and I have a feeling it won't be long before Kagawa begins to start as #10 while Rooney plays somewhere else, most likely deepr in midfield. |
montelik: Are Carrick, Cleverley, Welbeck and Rafael going to be available tomorrow? Because if they aren't, I doubt we achieve better than a draw.Rafael looks unlikely to feature... In a way, this could be good because if we can double-up Nani + Valencia down that right hand side, Arsene will be forced to think long and hard. For me, that side of the pitch will be key; Arsenal will have to get more cover for Gibbs there. Welbeck should sit this one out jare. |
Can't wait for the game... I can feel it in my bones --- another UTD performance to remember! |
StarBoard: Valencia can NEVER dream of that kind of performance. No disputing this... but we can't be waiting for the sighting of the next full moon for him to replicate or better it. |
Mourinho is high on purple haze! Who are the six teams contesting for the EPL title? let him list them please Only a naïve EPL fan would not know the league is between Man U and the rest! If not for Drogba's offside goal and Aguero's last minute winner we would be talking about Man U with 7 titles in a row whereas the BuLi can legitimately boast of 4 different champions within that timeframe Man U have had their worst start in the EPL yet they are only 8 pts behind Arsenal and right now I can't even bet against Man U catching up and overtaking them that shows how one-sided the league is! So much for competition
I couldn't help but dig this out for the rest of y'all to see! ![]() |
SailorXY: Nani's performance against Bayern @ Old Trafford has to rank among the best individual performances in the last decade of UCL!Thats the thing with Nani... we can pick out individual instances where he has stood out magnificently but usually those instances are eons apart. Valencia never "stands out", almost never does anything "fantastic"; but he is always there, contributing his "widows mite" game after game. |
Nani is like a very brilliant kid who can score an "A" whenever he is "in the mood" or a straight up "F9" when he is not --- problem is, when is he ever "in the mood"!? Because more often than not, he isn't Valencia is like the regular "average" kid --- you almost can't tell his best apart from worst days because he is always at the "C/D" grade levels --- on the very rare occasions, he gives a "B" grade performance but most importantly, even "Fs" are equally rare. Most managers would start a Valencia over Nani --- simply because going with Nani is a "gamble". That said, if Rafael isn't fit, I'd love to see Nani ahead of Valencia (RW/RB) against Arsenal... to me, our right side will be the key to victory! |
coogar: but drive, determination & devotion does not make him better than the one naturally blessed with the skill. nani's upper & bottom level are miles ahead of what valencia can touch. This here, lies the crux of the matter...! We know how "gifted" Berbatov is; based on skill and talent he is probably miles better than Rooney, Welbeck and perhaps maybe even Chicha, but where is he now!!? More often than not, we got grief and dissatisfaction from playing him --- all this, borne out of the fact that we know he can offer much more than he did at the time! Now, do not get me wrong, I am not taking anything away from Nani --- there are many variables involved that could lead to players not delivering as we know or believe they can --- and I think on his day, he "potentially" poses a far bigger threat than Tony V, can even be better than CR7... but he is not just doing enough! My point ultimately is, Tony V most often than not gives us a 90-100% of his "limited ability"; Nani gives me 40-55% of his "fantastic talent" --- and it usually isn't good enough for a player of his quality. In truth, UTD is just "managing" what Valencia gives; its a case of half bread better than a quarter really --- but at the end of the day, its helping the team! A very good mirror of this Nani vs Tony V. debate is Nasri vs Milner at City. |
I choose to side with Valencia because whatever he lacks in skill, vision and ability, he makes up in drive, devotion and determination... and that is least you can ask off a man! Nani has the "bag of skill" and "bundle of talent"... but "POTENTIAL" energy is not "KINETIC"! As for Rooney... he should be understudying Ryan Giggs for the left-wing/attack position! |
