elampiro: This is purely out of sentiment.I am not even talking about yesterday... I am speaking generally, in the long-term; and I am not trying to blame Rooney for anything. In our whole line-up presently, Kagawa is the best person suited to playing that role... Rooney is an "asset" to UTD in that he is a bit versatile. But right now, he is more of a stumbling block (not his fault by any means) and UTD needs him now more than ever. if we can somehow get him to "agree" to play on the left without it causing a furore (player's manager, press and fans influence etc), a lot of pressure will definitely be off the manager and we may get to see a bit more stablity in the side. Like Chamotex said, a lot of effort is being put in to keep Rooney happy - which is good in a sense - but this may also be "hurting" the team. I think this is really one "issue" that really has tobe cleared. |
Kagawa or any other midfielder for that matter will never get the brief to play that #10 or "in the hole", behind the striker role unless Rooney is out of the way or played on the wings... Moyes needs to be firm about this. Its a very hard decision to make but if we are going to get any sort of creativity from that area of the pitch, Rooney just has to vacate that role. |
StarBoard:
The initial argument was, we had difficult fixtures to put up with. Is west Brom difficult too?It is people like you who put a capilal "2" in two-face... I may be a loud-mouth, but at least I am man enough to put my money where it is at and brave enough to back a worthy cause - lost or not - can you say the same for yourself, p*ssy!? |
nitrogen: Haaa, look at you! Champions ko, champagne nii, we should just forget the league, it is already getting late!Guy, you get your own mind; I get my own sef...anywhere your own carry you go, follow am. No look my own! |
@ Star-blackboard. I am not lost for words...I am fully behind my team and manager, no matter the result. If, during the beginning of SAF's reign, the men at the helm had listened to people like you, would we be here today supporting and celebrating this institution called Manchester United!!? And I challenge you to put your money where your mouth is... I am ready to stake a bet, in all confidence, that come the end of this current season UTD will still be Champs! |
coogar: the failure started from his horrible line-up. it didn't make sense at all. the horrible line up caused the horrible subs & the rest is history.what was horrible about the line up? most of the players we clamour for half the time were in there... i still maintain that many of these players are not giving as good as they are getting (wages)! |
coogar: moyes is a complete idiöt....Na wa oh. Nothing this man will do will ever please us! All your favorites are there; Nani, Ando, Kagawa, Hernandez... you still find way to stroke the man. Chai! God will help Moyes!!! |
Torres should be off...that was violent conduct. He is lucky! |
Dembele is keeping Chelsea in this game... he should stop "over-doing"! |
Good to hear RvP is back. We should start with Chicha though! As for Welbeck, my sentiments are well publicized - with all this talk about "workrate", maybe he'd be better of a "4" or CB; it ain't too late to start ![]() |
Moyes saw some calm brought to a turbulent few days when Javier Hernandez's solitary strike at the start of the second half proved enough to defeat Liverpool 1-0 in Wednesday night's Capital One Cup third-round tie at Old Trafford.Don't worry Baba, take your time...no hurries. Who no fit wait make e go hug transformer for Cele! ![]() |
Ok. Now UTD no get manager oh...! |
Drksly: D muslims in d mall wud ve stood up n say 2d terrorist "if u want 2kill, kill all of us because Islam does nt support senseless massacre". Dat way it wud ve been easier @least 4once 4d world 2ve sme bliv dat islam is nt associated wit terror. Bt dey stood up wit dre hands up n left d mall leaving non-muslims 2dre faith. Dis was a golden opportunity 4muslims 2spit on d face on terror n giv d world hope dat weneva sme1 goes on a suicide mission, its nt 4religion. Bt dey stood up n left. I dnt tink its exoneratn enough 2play medicine after death. You have made a very good point... however, this takes quite a lot of courage to do but as you rightly said, it would have been the most emphatic statement ever made in the battle against terror and such a person or persons will be instant legends, the ultimate matyrs for time immemorial --- and if there is any justice in this life and there is a heaven, no matter their past sins, thats where they'd be headed straight! Sadly...it did not happen! |
Even just a couple of months ago, some of us here were raining "heavy" curses on SAF...but in the end, what happened!? The pattern is always the same, the result inevitable --- irrespective of what the naysayers and doomsday pundits forecast --- been there, seen that! |
Look at this star-blackboard oh! What makes a loss or win in the first game of the season different from other losses or wins!!? Because they have gone on a run of 4 wins means they cannot lose again? |
StarBoard: Dream on."Spurs and Arsenal look formidable, City and Chelsea will be there and about"... I laugh in hismaraic; you "see" how we struggled against palace but yet conveniently fail to "see" how Arsenal got beat in their own backyard by Villa, City got beat by Cardiff and Chelsea lost to Everton...! Oga, go park put for one side jor! |
Emperoh: My wahala is not selection. Will certainly take time...I feel Fellaini should seize the gauntlet and be a whole lot more "brutish" --- he is looking too "Carrickish" for my liking! |
Roland17: Bro give that excuse to the birds, what silly drive and energy are you talking about.... Even if the drive and energy was there united would have been beaten hands down by this city side.. So much went wrong for united today, energy and drive might be one but definitely not the main reason, does not even come close.Nothing wrong with Moyes' selection jor... minus RvP and Shinji, wasn't this almost the same the side that played Leverkusen!? Why didn't you criticize them then? |
Emperoh: Certainly it does. . . . . cos this is a Derby!!Very funny... for me, I don't care about fifth week of the season bragging rights! |
chrisley024: Winning big games lifts team spirit. Points lost cannot be recovered.Yes, it does...but if City lose to Cardiff, Norwich and Swansea; and we beat Cardiff, Norwich and Swansea... does losing to City matter anymore!? |
Emperoh: Spot the difference!!Are you talking about a certain coach who had about 20yrs experience to bank on!!? Guy ti' be! |
Roland17: Even if RVP had played today, I dare say united would still have lost this game, the team selection was flawed especially if you aim to score and threaten the opponent from the wings, because the middle which had fellani and carrick lacked creativity, I wonder why Moyes is keeping Kagawa on the bench, the wingers had nothing to feed on going forward as fellani was fond of slowing the pace of attack whenever united had possession going forward. both wingers had a very poor game and did not help defensively..There was absolutely nothing wrong with the team selection... there was just no energy, no drive. |
Someone please take the shackles off Fellaini...he wasn't brought in to "clone" Carrick! |
StarBoard: Leave story.Yes, anyday...anytime! The key to winning the league lies in getting the points at the Cardiffs, Stokes, Hulls, Evertons, S'tons, Villas etc. Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs can beat us all they want...but as long as they go to those other clubs and drop points and we don't, we'll be fine as always! |
What I absolutely hate most in a game of football is grown-a$$ men, players who claim to "big", losing hope, letting their heads drop when they can still effect a change in their teams fortunes. For heaven's sakes, we were 4-0 down with 30mins left on the clock --- what stops us from putting in sufficient effort for a fightback --- and then that b@st@rd goes and misses a sitter that may could potentially lift the spirit of the players and fans! ![]() Anyways, I won't despair any further...afterall, its David Moyes and squad of "mediocres" --- nobody gave a chance anyway! ![]() |
Nobody should ever come here again and say Rooney is UTD's "main man" because he isn't --- RvP is it! The moment that team sheet came out, heads dropped! |
nitrogen: Omo, see running.Abeg help me tell am...I think sey na only me see am sef. Alaba dey fear dat guy die! |
Screwface: He's a living legend, agreed. The occasion was highest last season, especially when Ferguson was retiring, he ought to have hung his boots too.Well, maybe Nani, Kagawa, Young, Valencia and Welbeck should start putting up performances that will ensure, once and for all, Giggsy is "retired" - with or without his consent! |
Running away from Navas? Very funny!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMIJ942UHlU Tell me what Alaba was doing every time Navas had the ball? |
Living Legend!
|
chamotex: Experience is overrated...it's not just about experience. That's why there's something called retirement.Gary, Keano and Phil will do just fine... add Alan Smith and perhaps Quinton Fortune too for good measure. Giggs is the last of his kind, a rare breed --- those players that are MANCHESTER UNITED through and through. I don't care how badly he stinks the joint; its our so-called young superstars that should hang their heads in shame because if they were playing any better than they are, would we have cause to bring aging men out of retirement!?
|
Navas?? That one na player? He's like Valencia minus the workrate
Is that why Alaba kept running away from him like he was a ghost!!? |
