debosky: The quality alongside him doesn't determine his goals/shot ratio, which is the key difference between him Giroud.Just off the top of my head - Real probably average something like 5-7 goals per game, 10-20 shots per game, 10-20 clear-cut goal attempts hardly ever draw blanks...contrast that with Arsenal. |
In many regards, this prolifereation is bad; the few "serious", noteworthy blogs may just get drowned in the crowd and hardly get the notice they deserve. I keep a blog because of my passion for poetry plus I want to keep all my writes in one place and also sample public opinion preparatory to the time when I am able to muster enough courage to take that bold step and publish. Been on it since late 2010 or thereabouts. |
I just do not get it... look at Carlo's CV, look at Henckyes' - yet some certain group of people will be acting as though a certain "Jose" is the beginning and end of football *smh* |
If we do sign Higuain as is expected right now, we would have surely replaced RvP. For 22M Pounds I think this will be a real coup as Higuain is still 25 and is truly world class. Arsenal's team in the just concluded season was a very good team (IMO as good as Manure's minus the RvP factor) and a more clinical striker would have taken our quality to the league champion level. For those who don't rate Higuain, I 'll leave you with this (culled from an Arsenal fansite) You only need to look at his figures to see why Madrid wanted to keep him. In 2008-09, he outscored Raul, van Nistelrooy and Huntelaar to be the club’s top scorer. He achieved the same the next season, outscoring Ronaldo with 27 La Liga goals, although Messi pipped him in the league standings. Injury affected his next season, but he still managed 10 from 17. By this time, Higuain had Karim Benzema as a direct rival for his place. The two strikers battled for game time throughout the next season. Benzema got more time, but Higuain just beat him in the scoring charts. One more thing, during his time at Madrid, only Messi has recorded a better goals to shots ratio than Higuain. With players like Falcao and Ronaldo to contend with, that is no mean feat. No hype. This is a quality striker
No doubt he is quality - but have you factored in the quality alongside him when all these stats were racked up!? |
gbigbega: Nigerians collected their shirts and wore it. They collect ours and prefer to walk around naked. Being a looser is no fun at all; or should I call it racism?Oh, get a life...what if they didn't collect the shirts nkor or refused to exchange, wetin you for talk!!? |
logica: Now the gulf has closed considerably. Then, Busquets was NO WHERE near the level of Yaya. And then Yaya was in his prime. But I partly understand Guardiola's plan which was to give Busquets exposure. But he did it at the expense of Yaya.Well, that is how it is - no two ways about it, you have to sacrifice the present for the future! |
I don't care if it is a scam, I'm definitely gonna send some cash to that account. I love OJ to pieces; singer, song-writer and producer extraordinaire - to me, he has two of the very best love songs ever done by a Nigerian artiste - "Missing You" and "Searching" - absolute timeless masterpieces! God bless you OJ. You will be back on your feet against soonest. Be strong! |
elampiro: What is the pillar to post here? He has only been good at possessional football. Which EPL team will give you the space Japanese had yesterday? Only QPR and our United give such space to opponents to operate. Was Kagawa the best Japenese player? No. Perhaps we could as well import all Japenese players and give them free roles. The "free role" is the position Rooney's been given lately and has been doing remarkably piss poorly at! |
elampiro: Over 80% of Kagawa's game yesterday was on the left. What does it matter... He was the "free" midfielder in the "hole" behind the striker and could go just about anywhere, not the out-n-out left winger. He dinked in peach of a cross early in the game from the left, pulled a save out of Buffon with a shot from the central midfield and scored from a "right-centralish" position. As I noted earlier, he mostly went out left to act as an "overload" and skew the shape of the italian defence somewhat! |
logica: Oh come on. Everybody in their right senses knew that was as a result of favoritism on the part of Guardiola. Who didn't know Yaya was better than Busquets then? And now!? |
I hope Rooney is watching. If he thinks he is "irreplaceable" - he better think again. @ Elampiro, Kagawa didn't play on the left. He was given a free role and could drift any which way but Zaccheroni also utilised him as an "overload" on that LHS. |
I doubt if there is going to be a better match in 2013 than this...hard to see! |
spenx084: No Brazil for the second time?Brazil is really dead and gone in youth football.Argentina too. They used to dominate this age-group competitions. How times have changed! |
Stormborn: If the super eagles waste their chances against uruguay then we will loose. Click like if u like the comment. That is if they create any such chances at all! |
Nothing to celebrate here. Rather a note of warning should be sounded to the players --- never, ever take your opposition for granted! At 3-1, the Tahitians almost got back into the game. They should be professional and treat every game with focus and seriousness - the nonchalance and over-indulgence was just very appalling! |
delors: The reason why that vacancy was advertised is because it is the law that such vacancies must be made public to attract interested and qualified candidates. The truth is, the position is already occupied. So, few hours to the expiration of the advert, the company would post the advert just to fulfill that legal requirement, knowing that applications that would come through given that short window would be rushed up or none would ever come through because there is no time to prepare a sound resume. That is what is done in all those top companies. the only ones that stay open and are almost genuine are the entry level jobs for inexperienced graduates etc Everything is a big scam in Nigeria. Big big scam. What you say is true, very true. But folks, its better to try! |
elampiro: Rooney is not asking for anything financial. What then is he asking for? More playing time even when he is quite clearly stinking the joint!? Oga. When he starts playing and delivering like a certain LM10 or CR7, he will be treated as such; at present, he is no where near the form or ligue of the aforementioned and should not be expecting to be treated as such! Maybe in the national side - because everybody knows that in the country of the blind... ... ... ... Make e dey there dey form big boy based on I get am before... na for 'im face so Bale and Neymar dey come up; small time dem go overshadow am leave am for back! |
Guys, Is hernanes home-based?
He plays for Lazio. |
These ones being arrested are mere miscreants... at Mushin Olosha, Yaba, Lag Island they roam the streets everyday trying to frighten and extort people... The "real" egungun and Ekpos only come out on festival days and other special occasions and they will not be arrested! |
elampiro: I went to the discussion link you provided and I was unable to locate the Rooney's thread. Give a direct link to this discussion. However, I have been following three United thread on Facebook (the Manchester United page, and two fans pages) with a combine followers of almost 50 million, the opinion is different- I can say over 95% want him to stay and almost everyone feels he deserve respect from fans no matter how things have turned out.Deserve respect! ![]() Ryan "old master" Giggs, Nemnaja "the rock" Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice "the omnipresent" Evra, Michael "smooth operator" Carrick deserve a s**t-load of repsect - heck, even Johnny Evans - who the f*@k is Wayne Rooney? He earns way more than other members of the squad, does next to nothing and expects to have "prefential treatment"!? Fark Dat ![]() |
elampiro: What I mean is that Rooney's average is better than many top EPL forwards' 100%.Laughing my head off at the bolded. You're kidding, right!? I bet we can all see how "highly regarded" your white-pele is...when a forty-year old grandpa can be picked ahead of him for some of our biggest ties! |
elampiro: So good you are not the coach of Manchester United, else your sentiments would have killed our play. He was voted as one of the 6 best (RVP, Carrick, Raphael, De Gea, Rooney and Ferdinand), I doidn't see Welbeck or Chacharito or Kagawa on that list. And as usual statistics showed that the 15 times he didn't start, United were less productive. That's how you get to know how important he is. Fans also voted him as man of the match on several occasion, just a few times behind RVP and Carrick.Well, so good you're not the coach either. If Rooney leaves, you can follow him to wherever!!! |
If care is not taken, that Spain vs Tahiti game might end up with a cricket scoreline. ![]() |
@ elampiro, you can pull out all the stats you can find supporting you "Rooney" myth but it won't change the fact that he's been utter sh.y.te most of this season and yet he was still favoured over the likes of Chicha, Welbeck and probably even Kagawa, when he should have been playing with the reserves! |
All I heard was Big Sean and that Snoop Lion fella - whoever that is ![]() Sorry Ski'banj, the yanks may like this but I don't. Its a no-no for me! |
I've been clicking on the given links but it only just re-directs me to https://www.waeup.org/ Where do I go to initiate the application process? |
thelastPope: One thing I dont like about this okada ban is the excuse that they are criminals. Most kidnappers in Edo state operate with cars, not okada. Most of them are cult boys and under graduates. If you must ban okada, please give better reasons, not this lame "okada riders are criminals" excuse. How can kidnappers use okada to carry their victims? SMH!Very, very correct - the "crime rate", "accident rate" excuses are just ludicrous. Doesn't hold any water at all. |
It's not about winning or losing - it's about if ideological and guerrilla warfare can be crushed by using conventional means. It has never happened before; and I doubt if this is going to be different. That's the honest truth. Time will tell - and I shall remind you.
Yes it is true that ideological and guerrilla warfare cannot be crushed easily - they will always spring up again to fight back... Govts around the world will still be fighting 'disgruntled' extremists till thy kingdom come, but they will never succumb to 'em. Bottomline is, the 'terrorists' will always be the ones on the backfoot, the ones running and hiding and hoping to live to fight another day. No matter how big, strong and influential a 'terror' organization is, it can never bring a nation and her people down to its knees...never! |
I agree with Coogar... Nani is far better than Ribery and Robben! |
SailorXY: "One for the future" they say. I don't really see the future but displacing a certain Mr. Rafael da Silva? ehehehe good luck with itYou will be shocked! |
Rafa is god! ![]() |
coogar: with the way |
