Kenya agricluture is on another level. We are already overtaken South Africa in avacado exports - and next we are targetting south american giants like mexico.

Where is the mess?. This how estate looks everywhere outside west africa - where best estates are at best concrete mansions.

You're 50yrs from reaching Kenya.

sorry

Milimani is just another village below Akosombo

Anyway, why are your estates always a mess?

Your agri data is already overcooked - it cannot be cooked beyond there - just put the fork already - unless you want to overtake China and India. IMF say you will grow by 2 percent.
obaaderemi:
Rice production goes up in Nigeria ( I know the gluttony little Indians are salivating at this)

And oil prices hit $87+ (Remember how the little Indians always rejoice when oil prices drop)

Nigeria's economy should really grow this year on the back of agriculture, services and oil.

You can never compare kenya figures that fully cross referenced with many data sources with make-believe nonsense that Nigeria Yemi Kale produces.
kikuyu1:
Waffas, observe how stats are collated by the relevant authority mainly from airport traffic, hotel receipts, immigration entry and exit points etc, etc. There are people whose sole function is to collate and interrogate such stats unlike you guys where recently released Sakawa boys and Okadamen are labelled as tourists stumbling off the plane in Accra,Abuja and Lagos.

The beauty of having well diversified economy - domestic tourism save kenya tourism sector in 2021.

Kenya Tourism update 2020 v. 2021:

Passenger flight landings +44% to 59,486

Visitor arrivals +53% to 870,467

Inbound receipts +65% to Sh146.5 bn

However, Q1 2021 tourism earnings were just 43% of Q1 2020.

The bulk of hotel bed nights recovery was from DOMESTIC TOURISM.

What is retarded is that South Africa GDP was 410B in 2010 - and you're causing chaos online to be back to 410.
You're in middle class rut.
There is no where you're going in next decade.
Unless you have fixed issues that held you back last decade.
jl115:
you've made this same ret@rded statement over and over firstly SAs gdp nominal is $410 billion after its rebase.....

Also where is Kenya?

PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 12:47pm On Jan 19, 2022
In GDP terms though, #DRCongo adds 23%, pushing EAC up from $238bn to $294bn.
Kenya is still top. It was 46% of the East African Community (2021 GDP estimate) and becomes 37% with #DRCongo joining. Kenya and Uganda together are half the economic size of the EAC after DRC joins.

obaaderemi:
Can you post any credible source that proves your GDP is up to $110bn? Thanks.

I see middle class estate. Few big houses but general estate is middle class. It's not upper class. But of course being a primitive west african that is too much for your brain.

Ghana primitives - worldwide the rich live in places like these - green leafy neigherhberhood where you cannot even see the house - because the land holdings are large enough - it's not about paved roads or concrete.

Class is something you

This Muthaiga north street view. Half of Nairobi is like this - Karen, name them. All green leafy - but fly a drone and look at the houses in there.

You should power your houses before you do street lighting.
Konza is not dead.

In those 7yrs - Kenya GDP has grown from 60B to 110B.
RSA GDP is stuck at 350B.
In 2014 - Kenya GDP was 9 times less.
Now it three times less.
Now I know you have very bad education
But surely if you use simple projection - the next 15yrs - Kenya GDP could rise to 350B
And South Africa will remain stuck at 330B.

Two important concepts you need to grasp
1) Middle Income/class trap in South Africa.
2) Leapfrogging happening in Kenya. Kenya is nearly nailing all the key ingredients for take off. Economic growth is not linear..most of the time it assume hockey stick shape......then it plateaus..like South Africa and even crash.

There are pre-conditions that a country need to meet - before it get lift off ground. It's like flying a plane....you stay on the running away until you're overcome driff and you vroom! like Uganda finance minister once exclaimed

This what happened in South Asian tigers. This is how China has taken off. Veitnam is happening as we speak. Kenya could be next.

jl115:
I've been on Nairaland since 2014......thats 8 years.... I will bet my house that in 2030 you'll give me the exact same post but the time lines will just be different let's say 2040 and 2035 .....ive seen it all before mate wink

As I said, once Kenya has caught Joburg... Then will talk about gauteng, and then after that maybe South Africa cool but at that time I'll already be in my 80s

The wait wont be long. I gave you timelines for Kenya is 2035 or about. For Nairobi and Joburg - before 2030 - actually 5yrs from now - if we build 500K units in housing sector as proposed - and fix our housing deficit. Otherwise infrastructure deficit is closing very fast.
jl115:
yes... Because we all still waiting for Kenya to catch Joburg... Never mind Nairobi

Yes KAIST is great move - hope more research institution will go to Konza - and then tech companies - that would create a silicon valley like synergy.
kikuyu1:
Was looking at KAIST: those are global players ! The Times higher education survey ranks them 99th globally as of 2022.
They're researching everything from robotics to AI to Health Sciences; the effects of which are seen everywhere from manufacturing, cloud computing to real time warehousing. It's said the uni established in 1971 was instrumental in taking SoKor first world.

My friend nobody I know is complaining about blackout in kenya. Biggest beef is cost of power. Kenya electricity supply is almost as good as Europe. That is my personal experience. It gets better every day.
samorobo:
That your do have blackout regularly.

You're obsessed with Kenya because you know it's your future. Kenya is not at South Africa level but definitely it better than you Zoo in almost everything. Kenya is pretty progressive country that is functional.
samorobo:
You are stupid.the Kenya have been seeing lately is Nigeria of like 3 decades back. Imagine every where in your zoo irritates me. You aren’t that different from Togo and the likes to be very honest.

LOL - where is the video of kenyans complaining of blackouts?
samorobo:
That’s a lie,I have heard miss Trudy and a couple of Kenyan you tubers complain about blackout on their YouTube post severally last year. The claimed it’s what’s causing a delay in releasing g their contents.

Btw half your country’s have ne we witnessed an electric bulb glow in their life.
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 12:06pm On Jan 18, 2022
You're not at kenya level - THAT IS THE POINT- you cluster in every index out there with worse of the worst..Niger, Burundi, South Sudan, Chad and such countries.
samorobo:
That’s funny and ironic, cos as much as I remember you keeps calling our gdp fake since ours and SA is similar and SA looks more developed. Were was your knowledge back then on per capita? Was it on a vacation to the Bahamas?

But Lekki deep sea port is smaller than Lamu. Settled.

PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 11:59am On Jan 18, 2022
We had half day blackout in the entire year and we complained bittery. Do you even understand that is like developed world standard.
samorobo:
You also can’t lecture me on electricity.you’ve been having blackouts lately not to mention the fact that half the country’s population is not connected to the grid and doesn’t know what an electric bulb looks like. Pls save it,Kenya is one irrelevant zoo that’s doesn’t deserve my respect and honor.

There is something you did not notice - it called per capita. When Kenya get to Morroco and Algeria level - probably by 2030 - it will have as good infrastructure as current Morocco/Algeria.

Algeria, Morroco and South Africa are proper middle class countries - or upper middle income countries - morroco may not be there yet but basically Kenya need to double it's per capita to get there.

Compare Algeria with South Africa - NOT KENYA.

samorobo:
Btw,have you noticed how close the Kenyan economy is to that of Morocco and Algeria.but there is this strange disparity in terms of Infrastructure. Almost every inch of Morocco and Algeria is developed. Good infrastructure e en to the most remote areas, their urban infrastructure is superb. Same level with most European countries.

I was expecting to see the same in Kenya. What do you think happened?
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 9:32am On Jan 18, 2022
You shifted from ports to refineries?
samorobo:
Add dangote refinery(biggest in the world), fertilizer (biggest in the world),Alaro, idiom Lagos alongside this one all in thesame axis.now start envisioning the multiplier effect it will have. That place will be an economic hotspot that might grow to surpass the entire kenyan economy whether or not you choose to keep cooking.
