The entire south is polluted - Lagos beach is overflowing cesspool from Makoko - and the south east has been destroyed by crude oil - and the entire north is just insecure - and teeming with cows. Nigeria is very ugly places.

Everytime I think Lagos - nowadays - I only imagine those fish ponds in makoko - that are fed from human feaces.

If you're interested in only animals - and plants - yes - Southern African countries has more animals - than east africa (poaching messed it up)- but if you're interested in the full nature package - the definitely it either kenya or tanzania.

From world class white sandy beaches to safaris to some tallest mountains in africa - to diverse lakes - great rift valley - to the highlands - and forests - and semi arid - and arid areas.

We have warned you time and again about the dangers of one story point. You need to look for more data. It very obvious for those that know that it's egypt then two kenyan beaches then zanzibar the seychelles then mauritus.

One of my best experiences there is snorkelling with the dolphins. It also have some really vibrant nightlife. If you love your drink and some reggae you would really love it down there . The mzungus were also lighting up mashada.

That place is the true definition of heaven on earth.

I plan on moving there pretty soon. This City vibe doesn't make the cut for me.

The beauty of Diani, Watamu and Chale is the white sandy beaches with very shallow water in sort of flat sea area in the middle of the sun. Watamu is hot and for beat Diani for that. It's magical. My dream is to retire near there eventually. I really love swimming and water.It's like a natural sauna,

Next would be Zanzibar and Seychelles.

The rest of Africa pretty bad...more like Lake Victoria beach if you can call it that.

I was reading an article on how the Turkana wind farm was set up and can you imagine those investors used Diani to persuade a wind expert to fly in to the country.

Yes I think that list is most consistent when you compare ranking all over. It's egypt, Diani, Watamu (I agree that Diani has more omph), Nungwe in Zanzibar, Seycheles ....South Africa have ugly beaches...nothing like white sandy beaches in East Africa.

Funny I don't see Kenya.... But I do see SA

As long as it's credible and is talking about natural beauty of SA. South Africa receive more tourism because of other stuff - but people really interested in natural beauty - the choice is btw Kenya and Tanzania. Kenya is you have short time. Tanzania if you have all the time.

They have nearly everything we have except for deserts. Zanzibar is beautiful. They are also twice large than Kenya. The problem of course is their size so it hard to see everything. Kenya is therefore great because it's relative small and you get nearly all these diversity in very short commute.

We are working with chinese - chinese deliver on time and cost - and they don't want treasury delaying with money or etc - so they prefer debt financing. Tanzania you're working with jokers like Turkey, Egypt and even South Africa - you will end up with huge project delays. Chinese gave us NBO-Mombasa SGR complete with dry port in 3yrs. They work like bees. Day and Night. Weekends. No holidays. No sundays. This require money to be available always. Not for treasury to wait for taxes to be collected.

That indeed is a problem. We were nearly becoming Ghana and Nigerian. Generating white collar graduates instead of blue collar workers - whose only recourse is to relocate abroad.

But these Blue collar graduates need to at least understand English - otherwise if they are Tanzania - maybe you will ask Chinese to add translated manuals.

Our focus now is TIVET - vocational colleges and competence based education system.

Gov spend nearly 1/3 of the budget on education alone. We pay teachers well, offer nearly free education all the way to university, we have 100% enrollment...name it.

Kenya is at stage where we don't need that many university graduates. If you check - we have corrected that mistake - we instituted mass failures - and opened TIVET/Vocational colleges.We are trying to move from Lower Middle to Upper Middle Income - where basic manufacturing is required. So we are opening new 300 plus colleges..and open to enrol millions in there to learn basic stuff after high school. I think enrollment now is at 400,000.

Heck we are middle of changing education system - now in lower primary - to competence based model. Tanzania you're still doing monkey business of building stuff without any well thought out plan.

South Africa should be moving to the next stage of manufacturing. Manufacturing complicated stuff like chipsets control units; name it; Not posho mills.

South Africa beaches don't feature in Africa best beaches - that would be Seychelles, Egypt, Kenya and Tanzania. It's not as naturally endowed as either Kenya and Tanzania. That is rather obvious.

Seychelles is just Zanzibar - beach resort. Southern Africa are dominated by Kalahari deserts.

Is South Africa as geo-diverse as Kenya. Nope. Most of southern Africa is just Kalahari desert. Kenya lies in confluence of desert, mountains,great rift valleys,forests, lakes and oceans. The cradle of humanity for that reason.
