Pls which feed can I give them to reduce feeding cost. Cos they eat too.much. they are still in the cage for now, thinking of releasing dem when they grow small.

You can feed them with corn shaft gotten from pap production, grinded corn,millet, fruits such as pawpaw e.t.c

28. THESTRAL
The Thestral is a breed of winged horse with a skeletal body, face with reptilian features, and wide, leathery wings that resemble a bat's. They were native to the British Isles and Ireland, though they had been spotted in parts of France and the Iberian Peninsula.They are very rare, and were considered dangerous by the British Ministry of Magic.Thestrals were, undeservedly, known as omens of misfortune and aggression by many wizards because they were visible only to those who had witnessed death at least once or due to their somewhat grim, gaunt and ghostly appearance.
Thestrals had quite a disturbing appearance and the wizards who were capable of seeing them often only described these creatures as being sinister and spooky. This was because they were seen as having big, bony figures and their dragon-like faces which bore white, glittering eyes that lacked both expression and pupils. Additionally, they were lured by the scent of blood.
Being a type of winged horse, most of their anatomy was identical to a horse, excluding their large wings that sprouted from their back. Unlike the Abraxan, another breed of winged horses, Thestral's wings did not possess any feathers at all; they had vast, black and leathery wings that were more similar to those of bats. Their fleshless, lustrous bodies were covered with a translucent and glossy coat. This smooth and dark skin was a bit slippery and so thin that Thestral's bones were clearly defined through the entire extension of their sleek bodies. These eerie horses had long black manes, as well as a large tail, either with flowing black hair, like horses or ending in a tuft, like zebras. Another distinction was their sharp fangs used to seize and slash their prey.

Also known as “will of the wisp” is an atmospheric ghost light seen by travelers at night, especially over bogs, swamps or marshes. The creature/existence is known in English folk belief, English folklore and much of European folklore by a variety of names, including jack-o'-lantern, friar's lantern, hinkypunk and hobby lantern and is said to mislead travelers by resembling a flickering lamp or lantern. In literature, will-o'-the-wisp metaphorically refers to a hope or goal that leads one on but is impossible to reach or something one finds sinister and weird,mostly associated with ghosts, fairies and elemental beings/spiritsi

All mallard derived ducks are not good brooders

Although some individuals are known to sit on their eggs but they hardly hatch them without human intervention
The only other mallard derived breed I could vouch for in terms of brooding ability is the CAYUGA but I haven’t come across one here in Nigeria
I’ve also had people testify that their PEKINS do sit on eggs but since I’ve been handling them I’ve not witness such they’ll rather drop their eggs and leave.

But then again there’s a theory that if the ducklings are raised from birth by a broody hen or chicken they might grow up to adapt such attitude (the theory is baseless though I myself haven’t tried it)

26. REDCAP

The redcap (or powrie) is a type of malevolent, murderous goblin found in folklore. He is said to inhabit ruined castles along the Anglo-Scottish border, especially those that were the scenes of tyranny or wicked deeds and is known for soaking his cap in the blood of his victims. Everybody loves him cos he’s handsome,that’s the first thing they say when they see him even at the vet one of the attendants went as far as taking his pics saying “he’s just too handsome”

And there I was in my mind I would be like “well,let’s see if you will all still admire him when he grows all big and fierce like the big girls”

This is one of the biggest mistakes people make. A puppy is not meant to wander around without supervision at that age it can easily pick up anything

It's far beyond saying let's call all our local dog wit the tiny head Niger

One thing about breed standard is that is goes far away from just the physical appearance to even blood.

Do you know ow mixed and diluted they are Don't be surprised if you take two local dogs for a test and see different contributors to the genetics.

If we were to work on a local breed for us, it will take 100 of years to archive and it possible by starting now by knowing what we want to archive at the end then work towards it

Consistency is then check in temperament, looks and other areas

Exactly what my point is, that’s why I said it’s a long walk

Though I do not own one but I'd like to be part of the movement, I could contribute whatever little knowledge I have towards achieving the goal of the breed's standardization.At the end of the day my joy is for us to have an indegenous breed in Nigeria, something from Nigeria that will be respected and treasured worldwide
It might be tough and rough to achieve this primarily because of the mindset that nothing goods comes out from this side of the world but then wouldn't it be an achievement for our country if we could also contribute something tangible in the world of k9s?!.....It's time we start to create than just keep accepting things that other people made (as much as I love foreign breeds) I'll also want to see Something from Nigeria attain great standards.

Aslan has developed this habit of challenging the big girls it seems he wants to step up the hierarchy at such a young age
Literally I’m the Alpha in this case, Mabel and Jade share the same rank as Beta as they do not give in to each other, Aslan seems to also want a peek at the top lol

I once mentioned it on a thread, it’s a good move to try and standardize the breed (presently they’re tagged as mutts/ekuke and some call them NSD).
But the thing is,it’s not just about the name,it entails setting a standard for the breed (acceptable coat colors, size, acceptable behaviors and traits) all these put in place will go a long way in standardizing the breed because the ekuke isn’t even indigenous to us alone,they’re almost everywhere in the world (Asia,Europe e.t.c) but if we here set a standard for ours,it will be a perk for our country as a whole
Presently most countries even South Africa has their own contribution to the world of dogs/k9 (boerboel/south African mastiff) but what exactly have we created
If ekuke owners are ready to attain this feat, it’s gonna be a long walk “yes” it will require your zeal and commitment.

When you talk about the Shiloh shepherd’s similarity with the German shepherd, they’re two identical breeds that one could hardly tell the difference (check the images below)
