Do you think that the government is different from the people?
Can any government exist with zero population, no one at all in the area? Not a single soul. Is it possible for a government to exist in such a circumstance

Do we say a government is a reflection of her people, or a people is a reflection of her government? It can be put either ways. But the government are the drivers of the economy, and thus custodians of change. If appropriate policies are put in place to diversify the economy and encourage participation of the private sector in other locations in the country, I don't see any reason why they won't bring in their investments.

For example, Nigeria depends heavily on imported goods; from cars to electronics, and even pizza . Now most of these ships berth in just one port - Lagos. Tell me why people won't flock the city. Believe me, when the government is ready to make a change, they will.

Seriously I don't know who bewitched us in this country. In foreign nations, when you hear about protests for a change, you see even grandmas/pas on the street digging it hard. But for my side, ordinary protest against epileptic power supply wen I one go some years back, my people lock door against me inside house . We got to change our mindset.

That the problem. The tide has already been created. The easiest way to go is to flow with it, and that's the option most people choose. The present economic situation does not give room for experiments, so there is a mad rush to 'make ut' without considering if this would have lasting impact. At this pace, in a few years time, we will look back to see we've only consolidated on economic growth, but nothing on economic development.

The bulk lies in the hands of the government. They steer, we follow.

Reading further, I saw the whole picture of your situation, and it would be an understatement if I said I understood your position. In fact, that was the very home I grew up in. Same scenario. It seems your husband was my Dad and you were my mum. So I don't know if I would be in a better position to offer you the advise you need, because I would definitely have some bias.

Draw up a budget for monthly expenditure with you and your kids alone and give it to your husband. Draw up another budget including his sister and give same to him. Then ask him to come up with a solution on how the deficit would be managed. God knows he may not bat an eyelid . Those men are stubborn.

In order for any relationship to make an headway, communication is VERY important. If your idea of communicating is those things you say when you are tensed up, then please desist from it. You will not solve anything doing that. Talk when you both are in good mood and let every issue be addressed.

For your husband's sister, let her know everything you are putting up with. Let there be no holds bar. Then allow her advise herself and come up with a solution on how the home front would be managed. It would do you good if you are both able to reason together. Put away every form of hostility. That they sent their father's wife away is not your business. It's their tradition; let them live with their conscience. I know this is one of the major reason for your present resentment. Let it go.

For her child, treat her as you would treat yours. Discipline her as you would discipline yours. If you know you can't extend those small favours to her child, then refrain from doing same for your kids while they are in the know. It's just a temporary phase; they won't die. Discuss with hubby on how long sister in-law would be living with you, and see if you can come up with a time frame. There is a need for patience and perseverance here. You can't change him.

I received news today of how two boys sent by their dad to deposit 100k into their sister's account for school fees were arrested and detained on the charge of being in possession of a 'huge' sum of N100,000 in cash. Like WTF . They were asked to bail themselves with 50k but for the timely intervention of a human rights lawyer. The security system is messed up.

Motivational speaker ? Nah. In fact, I personally detest motivational talks. And I have never at any point identified with Christ embassy, though I am not oblivious of the depth in Pastor Chris' teachings. He is a father, and I honour him.

If what I had written there sounds new to you, you should hold your Pastor responsible for not feeding you with the right nutrient for growth. A lot of people desire spiritual growth but don't have an idea of what they are to grow up to look like. Christ is the image that we are, and are to grow into. We do this by seeing ourselves as he is. What you behold, you become.
