mbaboy: There was corruption in Nigeria when Awolowo built Cocoa House, TV station and the first university in Africa There was corruption in Nigeria when IBB built Third Mainland Bridge, built Aso Rock, National Assembly Complex, turned Abuja into our Federal capital territory. There was corruption in Nigeria when Obasanjo brought Gsm, banking reform, police reform, civil defence, There was corruption in Nigeria when Jonathan introduced BVN and PVC, built 12 new federal universities, revamped railway lines, made Our economy fastest growing in Africa & third in the world. If anyone tells you the reason Buhari is not working is that he inherited corruption, tell them great leaders don't blame people and events for their failures. They simply accept responsibility and move on. Ask them, what has Buhari done after all the fake promise of fixing power in 6wks, reducing pump price to #45 naira, making N1 equal to a $ 1, stopping Boko Haram etc. It's a shame. The inferno truth is, corruption started from heaven when Satan violated a privilege given him. That never stop God's works. He waited for God to create man and brought his lawlessness and corruption into the garden of Eden. God wasn't moved. He introduced a redemption plan; The Savior was born, sadly, Judas Iscariot was there. Not discouraged yet, He gave us God the Holy Spirit. If anyone tells you the reason Buhari is not working is that he inherited corruption, tell them corruption is rooted in the DNA of homo sapiens ( Latin: wise man ) because we are just mere mortal infected with a virus of good & evil. Yet, great leaders don't blame people and events for their failures. If you (and all your post "likers" ) were any more stttttupid, your brain would need watering every morning. One cannot go through all the singular micro-projects you seem to employ as metric for great achievements, but let me go through a few of them. BVN and PVCs are achievements? Having a building makes it a "University"? The kind of shithole ones that produced moorons like you and labelled them "graduates"? Even if holy water is used to water your brain, you would still not be able to recover from this level of stupidity! |

Yankee101: I can't remember insulting anyone. But here is the longer version of my argument, I expected if you were following bank closures you'll know all the issues at stake.
Lemme use Oceanic Bank as an example to clarify my point. Why should the nearly $1billion dollars recovered from Ibru not be applied to shareholders funds? The judge that ruled had her daughter living in one of ibru's houses seized. Here in the US any rwcovered assets are applied to shareholders after depositors are balanced out. Tunde Ayeni of Skye bank is facing recovery. Where should the money recovered go?
Am I still in Iyana paja? You have moved beyond Iyana Ipaja International University and now towards Ojokoro Polytechnic. Next time, check your facts before making statements. What was the basis of the $1bn dollars recovered from Ibru? You have no clue about what you are utilising as example? Ibru used depositors funds as her personal loan for investments, so when these funds are recovered from her, according to your Ojokoro Polytechnic education should not be given back to the depositors, instead give it to the shareholders? |

ntyce: Won't respond to your vitrols afterwards, cos you are damn too rude. The bank stopped borrowing from CBN lending window in 2017.... The mgts term was extended by 2 years last July, 3 months after you decide to handover to Amcon saying it needs to recapitalize and the same board is left to continue managing ... Who is fooling who?
I still maintain that the bridge bank was created to take it away from the shareholders.
It's a vendetta against Ayeni and co.
I am however happy with that option. The CBN governor says they are continuously funding. The bank says they exited funding in 2017. Guess who decides the truth? The courts!!! Let the shareholders go to court and sue the CBN for unlawfully taking their asset. Afterall, these sought of things are done based on a set of agreed rules, so if they feel they have not broken any rules to justify the action, then they can sue. The managements current good performance is very unlikely to matter if the rule of capitalisation has not been resolved. Highlighting pieces of achievement is meaningless nonsense. The fact that the new board and exec were not changed is not really an excuse. If the CBN has always had grounds to takeover the bank but did not do it earlier is not excuse not to takeover the bank. Delayed correction does not mean correction is wrong. As for " It's a vendetta against Ayeni and co.", sorry, that just sounds like a typical claim of "victimisation" nonsense Nigerians engage in even when they are wrong. Like when a crooked politician living as a millionaire after a career in civil service is arrested for corruption and then he and his supporters start say " It is political". The numbers are there, if you feel it is not justified to takeover and it is just "victimisation", then go to court. |

Why were shareholders not given the options to recapitalize... Where did the N820 billion injected in April come from?
Oga, park well and think before you open ur mouth.... You must be stupid, you better hold me in higher esteem before I decide to be-igi for you. Guess which one my money is on in the betting shop? Shareholders should be "given the option to recapitalise"? What a profoundly stupid question? Tollzara: Perception isn't reality, but our reality is what we perceive. We usually can't see beyond our senses, and even worse is the fact that we are permanent prisoners of our own minds. Evidence is not proof. It rarely goes beyond the world of mere appearances and apparent reality. It is more superficial than it is deep. For this reason, you'll see thousands of innocents on the death row, thousands of criminals acquitted by the most honest courts. No one has the "God Eye View", and Nietzsche scored a bull's eye when he declared that humanity has no organ of truth. More often than not, evidence has brought about the very death of truth. Crimes have been committed and innocent lifes squashed on the altar of "honest facts" and "irrefutable evidence".
And here comes the saddest part: evidence is not proof, but you can't objectively "prove" anything to anyone without "evidence", even though evidence itself is proof of its own fallibility and unreliability.
So, few days ago, I created this thread https://www.nairaland.com/4745306/pregnancy-result in an attempt to see men's reaction to female-on-male rape, how conscious they can be of its reality, and how despicable and how much of a big deal they would find it to be. But, lo and behold, my guys didn't see the crime. Rather, they considered themselves the ones in problem in any such scenario - because, apparently, they've impregnated a lady, and they will have to be a father. The horror. The horror. Niggas so scared of making women gravid, so much that they forgot, or totally missed the fact, that it was the lady who had actually raped them. They've been unconsciously programmed by society to take male rape for granted.
I've observed this phenomenon for a while now. Male rape is never a serious issue. Some people even consider it absurd and impossible. Very minimal attention is paid to it, and it never triggers as much outrage as the most primitive forms of female sexual harassment. I consider this outright wrong and dangerous, and would really love to draw people's attention to it.
Did you know that in America and Britain, if a woman rapes you and gets pregnant afterwards, you'll be forced to pay child support to your rapist? It is an obligation on your part, you see. You have no say in the matter. It doesn't matter that you never consented to the sex that has made you a father by providential accident. Heck, there have been cases where even underage boys are made to pay child support to their rapists.
Is this just? Isn't it detestable? Isn't it crazy? Isn't it absurd? Why does anyone tolerate it? What kind of madness? Shouldn't this injustice be fought against? Why is no one fighting it in the West? Why are such barbaric, extremely biased laws not met with aggressive opposition? What do you think about it?
And here's an even sadder and interesting fact. Did you know that it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to prove female-on-male rape through medical evidence? Because even the slightest vaginal skin tear can be taken advantage of by your rapist, in which she can turn the tables on you by playing the victim while accusing you of rape. So the medical "evidence" available can even destroy you after you've been wronged. That's why I called it sad, because there's probably nothing anyone can do about this.
So, what are your thoughts? Shouldn't our blood boil when male rape is reported, as much as it does when the female is the victim? Do you think our lack of sensitivity and tolerance towards it that makes us take it for granted is dangerous and disturbing, or do you consider it harmless and my worries needless? Do you believe a man should pay child support even though he was raped? Do you think something should be done about such stupid laws? And if you're a male responding, what would you do about the pregnancy resulting from such distasteful, criminal violation of your right?

Yankee101: The new bank did not buy zero or negative, they should be given the % of the value of the old bank in the new setup. Nigerians just love to steal and use other people's money to grow rich. It's simple finance not rocket science. That was the "Finance" you were taught at your Iyana Ipaja International University, Olodo? Why should they be given the same % value of the old bank they had before in the new bank? Because government money is free for private investors, Professor of Finance (Iyana Ipaja International University)? Go shut-up and siddon somewhere, this is rocket science to people like you. Here is the lecture for you that Iyana Ipaja International University did not teach you during your "world class" degree in Finance: When you are or decide to be an investor in a company, whether publicly-listed or private, it is then your responsibility to ensure that the company is well ran according to the laws of the country and profitably, otherwise your money is at risk. You do this by: 1) Either having a representative on the board, who are people there to monitor the CEO and Senior Managers as representatives of the shareholder; you have this if you are a significant shareholder 2) Or you monitor the company privately by reading annual reports (if you are a small shareholder) and pull your money out if you feel the CEO and Senior Managers are reckless or not providing the financial/ethical benefits you desire In most publicly listed companies, the government would not give a flyingshit if a company is reckless and fails, but as banks are heavily linked to the economy as they hold people's money and fund the economy, they cannot afford to standby and watch recklessness. So they take over. When they take over, they are putting in taxpayer's funds to buy a struggling bank, which is now automatically devalued. So a good portion of your money as an original investor is gone because of the fallen value of a struggling bank you did not monitor and the money the government is putting in to save your investment. If the bank is getting seriously heavy losses, then you might even get zero! Professor of Finance at Iyana Ipaja International University, it is your fcking responsibility as a shareholder to monitor your investment so you don't lose it, not for the government to save it for you and pay you for any losses. For you na rocket science o! |

Do you know why most men in the west don't usually apply for divorce?
If a man files for divorce -he'll always be at the loosing side. If the woman doesn't have kids for him, he'll be ordered to pay money (it is known as divorce settlement) Ask yourself, how many women who filed for divorce have paid money to their husbands? I can remember, a lawyer told me that- men lose more because they wasted women lives (how exactly did I waste your life because I filed for a divorce after 10years of marriage ?)
I've come to realize that Gender equality is a scam.
Cc mindfulness Mostly in Anglophone West (UK, US and Australia). In Sweden, it is far more reasonable. The whole nonsense about "wasting women's life" is aligned to the moronic philosophy being promoted that "women should only have rights, but no responsibilities". The so-called Gender Equality is indeed a scam! Most women want equal rights but not equal responsibilities. If they make choices that is detrimental to them or they eventually don't like, then they advocate it should be the fault of a man because they are just poor "victims". They should have the benefit of choice, but a man should not have same choice. They believe laws should be made in such a way, things more likely to favour them are fine, but those more likely to favour a man is "sexism". |
