Marriage is a very important thing in women's existence. They might deny it all they like, but it is.

It is a safety net that gives them a glimmer of hope for some few things they value a lot in life: companionship and adoration.

The older they get, the less of these 2 they will get as their looks fade. Marriage provides a social contract that gives them grounds to make claims of entitlement to those two.

Marriage also gives them a good platform to satisfy a natural urge: having and raising kids.

Marriage is a very, overarchingly important aspect of women's lives. Without it, many of them would struggle to find long-lasting happiness.

I have said it on NL before: Create a pill which women can take that would make them look the way they look at 21 for another 40 years and that would be the end of the institution called marriage.
