FamilyRe: Divorce An Act Worthy Of Celebration? by Sagamite(m): 10:27am On Dec 24, 2013
Nashville: When I read posts like this, it just sends a very wrong signal about marriage. Next month, my parents will celebrate 40 years of marriage. My grandparents were married for 62 years before my grandfather passed on and I am almost 8 years in marriage and I do not regret getting married. My wife as well has no regrets. My brother and sister are also very happily married. There are lots of people out there enjoying their marriages and may be you need to learn one or two things from them if this is truly your view.

No marriage is perfect just like no one is perfect but I dare say the scenarios you paint are far from the norm. I am a Christian and I know I can only have something I believe in. I can only have a happy marriage if I believe it is possible and if I can see it. This is not about men vs women. I have a friend whose wife is dating an ED in her bank, and she is threagthening him with divorce etc. There are bad men and women out there and there are good men too. Your responsibility is to marry a good man. This is just a cheap way of absolving oneself from blame.

If you sincerely ask people in bad marriage how they got themselves into the mess they are in, they themselves would tell you where they made mistakes. Most mistakes were made before marriage and what I am preaching is that divorce should not be seen as an easy escape route. Someone commented earlier that people that are no longer connecting should get a divorce. I actually laughed, like seriously, is that what marriage has turned into? Most people marry for the wrong reasons. Some women will marry guys who abused and beat them up even before marriage, some will still marry guys that cheated on them 10 times before marriage. Some will marry a guy over the internet? Some will marry guys they dont even know what he does for a living.

Marriage can be lovely but you must first believe it can be!
Can you enlighten the forum how not to make the "mistakes" before marriage?

CareerRe: His Mckinsey Interview by Sagamite(m):
In terms of pay, my investigation sometime back showed the following pay differences (basic salaries) in the sector. I happened to get hold of some inside info and also used my research skills. These are UK and US figures, other regions might be fractions of this.

Note the partner level pay are rough estimates as that is the most secretive of their pay disclosures and I had to make logical assumptions and comparisons based on the few scraps of information I got from reliable sources.

E.g. I know that in the Big Accountancy 4 firms, Consulting and Tax staff earn more than the audit staff because their services command a premium in fees, hence I know the partners in these areas should earn above the reported average partner pay for these firms.

Strategy
MBB houses pay the highest in the long run amongst strategy firms. These are for the MBBs, other Strategy firms are likely to pay far less at more senior levels. Even maybe less than the top General Advisory and Full Service firms.

Entry level: between £35K - £52K

Pre-MBA second level (e.g. Mckinsey's Junior Associate = 3rd Year): between £53K - £60K

MBA entry level: between £70K - £85K

Engagement Manager/Project Leader/Case Team Leader (also Bain's Manager level): between £90K - £125K (Bain's Manager might go as far as £140K)

[Associate] Principal: between £130K - £170K

They pay anywhere between 10% to 50% in bonuses. The higher percentages at more senior grades.

These includes all bonuses:

Partner: between £300K - £700K

Director/Senior Partners: between £700K - £1.5m

Senior Director/Regional Partners/Power Partners: between £2m - £7m

General Advisory/Full Service Advisory
These 2 areas tend to pay at the same rate for their management consulting arms. they may pay lower than non-MBB strategy firms to start with, but if you make it to the top, you are likely to make more than people at the top of these strategy firms. There is more overlapping in pay as it really depends on your quality and negotiation powers.

First two grades (your starting 4 years): between £33K - £50K

MBA entry level: between £50K - £80K

Accenture's Manager/PWC's Senior Consultant/Capgemini's Managing Consultant/Deloitte's Senior Manager: between £65K - £100K

Accenture's Senior Manager/PWC's Director/Capgemini's Principal Consultant/Deloitte's Director: between £80K - £140K

PWC, Deloitte and other Accountancy management consultancies can also have a salaried-partner grade: £150K - £200K

They pay anywhere between 5% to 25% in bonuses. The higher percentages at more senior grades.

These includes all bonuses:

Partner: between £200K - £600K

Regional Partners/Senior Partners: between £700K - £1.2m

Power Partners - between £1.5m - £5m

Many non-MBB strategy firm's top players would struggle to get beyond the £600K pay mark.

CareerRe: His Mckinsey Interview by Sagamite(m):
One of the advantages of consulting is the rapid progression if you are in it, and the good exit options when you leave it.

When I say good exit options, that means when you decide to leave consulting and go to industry, if you were in any of the good brands, you are likely to be hired at a grade that is quite high in the company in industry you join. A grade that would have taken you more years of experience to get to if you were not coming from consulting.

It is normal for companies to regard every year of experience in consulting to be equal to 2 years experience of their high performing non-consulting-background staff member. In civil service, they might even compare it 1 to 4. So when you leave consulting, you are most likely going to find yourself hired at a grade where people have a minimum of double the years of your experience. Mine on average has been a ratio of 1 to 3+ but less than 4.

In terms of rapid progression within consulting:

Strategy
These tend to have a 5/6 grade structure, where you are expected to spend 2/3 years on each grade before you progress to the next grade. They have an "up or out" policy. If after 3 years in a grade, you have not qualified for promotion to the next, you get kicked out. Top strategy firms (the MBBs) release 1/3 of their staff every 3 years (lower strategy firms are a bit more relaxed). The ones that make partner make it between 8 to 13 years of being a graduate hire. The ratio of 'Partner* to Non-partner Consultants' is usually between 1:6 and 1:12. *For Mckinsey, I have included Directors as Partners.

1. McKinsey grades
- Business Analyst (those with only bachelors)
- Associate (MBA applicants)
- Engagement Manager
- Principal
- Partner
- Director (and Senior Director for the most senior ones)

2. BCG
- Associate (those with only bachelors)
- Consultant (MBA applicants)
- Project Leader
- Principal
- Partner

3. Bain
- Associate Consultant (those with only bachelors)
- Consultant (MBA applicants)
- Case Team Leader
- Manager
- Principal
- Partner

4. Roland Berger
- Junior Consultant (those with only bachelors)
- Consultant (MBA applicants)
- Senior Consultant (MBA applicants also)
- Project Manager
- Principal
- Partner

5. AT Kearney
- Business Analyst (those with only bachelors)
- Senior Business Analyst (those with only bachelors plus 2 years of top quality experience)
- Associate (MBA applicants)
- Manager
- Principal
- Partner

General Advisory/Full Service Advisory
These tend to have a 6/10 grade structure in their Management and Technology consulting arm. The 10 grade structure is normally in their IT consultancy arm. I will focus on only Management Consulting.

There is no 'up or out' policy. You usually spend a minimum of 2 years in a grade, but as you become more senior, you can spend far longer on a grade. Only in the junior grades do you rapidly progress until you reach the MBA entry grade. It is usually 2 years each for the first two grades, 3 years for the middle grade and then getting stuck, or 2-5 years on average, on the 2 grades before partner. These other consultancies need scale and there are many consultants that love their work but are not too keen on taking on the stress of higher level, so these consultancies are quite happy to have them. The ones that make partner make it between 10 to 20 years of being a graduate hire. The ratio of 'Partner to Non-partner Consultants' is usually between roughly 1:14 to 1:20.

mink505: If people decide that they want to go naked in the streets and they challenge the law, they will win. esp if that law is strictly moral.
here for example in NY after a woman took the police to court, it is now legal to go topless in public. cool police are ordered not to arrest any woman who goes topless. men are allowed to do so afterall.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/16/nyregion/a-police-roll-call-reminder-women-may-go-topless.html?_r=0
ex. if we see repeated offenses of people going naked in public, this will pass the message that people are serious about it. esp since USA favors human rights. it would be a disaster to keep persecuting and arresting them esp if it lands in the media and becomes a major story. ex. marijuana use is now legal in many parts of the USA. due to the high incarceration rates of weed smokers that cause it to turn into a human rights issue. infact, illegal immigrants are treated in such a way that would be considered very generous in most parts of the world. and that's all because of the respect of human rights. esp if the illegal immigrants came to the USA as children. by logic they shouldn't suffer for their parents' crimes.
In naija, nobody cares, even if they kill 500 gays, they will even pat themselves on the back. what a barbaric country.

keep in mind that the gays were first banned from marrying in the USA in 1971. and it took less than 30 yrs for people to come to the terms that gays weren't going anywhere. they challenged the law and they won.
and believe it or not, polygamy will eventually become legal in the USA ifthe polygamists challenge it enough. the difference is that due to the rise in gender equality, you will see more women marrying multiple husbands. there will be more polyandry than polygamy. they will remain a minority though.
compared to a country like Nigeria or Pakistan, American laws are damn logical. laws aren't simply based on whether or not something is "deviant" that would be silly. tattoos are popular now, but at a certain point they were deviant. etc. it just takes a while for the rest of d world to catch up, that's all.

the fact that you made a post thinking it will redeem you from your ignorance and low IQ dumbness is very comical.
You are a pure person!

I thought you said in developed countries, government is SECULAR meaning that "morality has no place in law"?

person, now it is they have morality in law, you just need to challenge it?

mink505: your IQ is too low for simple concepts. in developed countries, government is SECULAR meaning that "morality has no place in law"
govt ain't no church, temple or mosque. keep your fake "morals" to yourself as long as u aren't harming any one. laws are based on logic. and the parliament or govt is there to debate laws to make sure that they make sense.

in Nigeria,u will see all of them corrupt fools claiming moral superiority over the nation.
even this fool sagamite keep rambling about deviant behavior, yet has a fetish for posting p.orn all over nairaland. Rubbish how is this behavior different from pakistan where alcohol is banned n illegal for being immoral yet 90% of the male population is addicted to chewing grass to get high. hahaha hypocrites. The middle east and especially Africa are ironically known for having the grossest human rights violation in d world. talk about morals. obsession with "deviant" behavior is stupid. if you are so obsessed with following the crowd, clearly corruption, violence, r.ape will never end since majority of people engage in it. all these vices keep Nigeria underdeveloped yet we choose to turn blind eye on it and focus on scapegoating those who look or act different from the norm. THe norn in Nigeria is corruption, violence, r.ape, adultery (a man who is faithful to his wife would probably be considered deviant) etc. a politician who is not corrupt in Nigeria will be condemned for being "deviant"
another word for deviant in African lingo is witchcraft. anybody who doesn't fit the norm must a witch. ahahah
#africanmentality #herdmentality #underdeveloped #middleages

western countries are developed for a reason and you sagamite, are typing comfortably from a western country while at the same time wishing Nigeria evil by not wanting it to develop. if you are really serious about your homophobia, there is no reason for you to be sitting in a western country grin. move back to Africa or the middle east. gbam.

And one hungry mofo goes on to publish an interview with him. Who asked for his opinion? What is his business with the Super eagles? NFF can do as they like, he's not an authority again.
I grew up knowing both Adamu and Ogunjobi as football administrators in this country, hardly is their any footie activity going on that you won't hear their names, corrupts nuggars.
But immediately they both were disgraced and went solo, we all saw the turn around and what the country has achieved in football
The country is sick.

The journalists (like Uche George Egbe and Colin Udoh) are hungry fucktards.

Ogunjobi even got a job with his state after his disgrace.

I would not be surprised if "Uche George Egbe" does not exist and Colin Udoh only used that pseudo-name to publish the shame!

KickOff Football Magazine collects bribe to promote a criminal:

http://www.kickoffnigeria.com/news/39936/amos-adamu-super-eagles-world-cup

Adamu cautions Eagles on WC opponents

Former Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC) and Fifa Executive Committee member, Amos Adamu, has warned the Super Eagles not to underrate any of their Group F rivals in next year's World Cup.

While admitting that he would like Nigeria to win next year's World Cup in Brazil, Adamu told the Daily Independent that the Super Eagles will have to consider all the teams in their group as equal threats, as they are no minnows in football anymore.

"One fundamental thing we mustn’t underestimate is that all the teams that qualified for the World Cup are potential winners," Adamu said.

"So we don’t have to start looking down on a country and feel that they are not threats to us, every team emerges from a competition, so no team in Brazil is a cheap party."

The experienced football administrator however added that given the quality of the players currently in the Super Eagles, as well as the consistency of the team's form, they only need a bit of luck to go all the way in the World Cup.
Not a single mention that this was a bribe taker. Apart from positive words, they even used a picture of him in a suit on the webpage to make him look responsible.

The cretinous person called Uche George Egbe has taken a bribe to help his alleviate his poverty.

This cretins along with Colin Udoh are helping the thief test the ground to see if he can have a place in Nigeria.

Only in Nigeria would publicly shamed criminals still have hope of revival.

As long as we have person Jonathan to pardon them, they are not wrong having hope.

This cretin called Jonathan is fcked!

The reality of elections in Nigeria is that, to win, you have to have one of the following:

1) Support of the North
2) Support of the West
3) Great performance and competence to overcome any regional bias

This cretin has none of the above and the third is very crucial for any non-Hausa/Fulani or non-Yoruba Nigerian.

The analogy means that South Africa is not free of corruption and thanking Nigeria won't stain their image.

mink505: pedophilia is a fetish. it is a paraphilia similar to zoophilia, sexual sadism and exhibitionism.
Homosexuality (used to be known as homophilia) used to be scientifically listed as a paraphilia but no longer is.

in fact, pedophilia by itself is not illegal. if a pedophile was arrested, he/she would be accused of r.ape. NOT pedophilia. In fact, a pedophile who wants to avoid jail would seek an adult who is underdeveloped physically. ex. late bloomers. the definition of pedophilia is an attraction to per-pubescent or pubescent bodies and there are quite a few adults out there who fit that description and have underdeveloped bodies that would attract pedophilies. this is perfectly legal as long as the object of attraction is not a child because in that case, it would be r.ape since children have no capacity for CONSENT by law. but if an 18yr old has a body of a 12 yr old etc then that's perfectly legal.even though it falls under the category of pedophilia.

In fact, there have been moves to redefine pedophila. to restrict it to per-pubescence only. so that men who are attracted to pubertal children will no longer be considered pedophiles. ie children above age 13. At the end of the day, none of it matters legally. It is just the scientific body that is debating it. they are the ones who set all these definitions. legally, it is r.ape that is a crime.

when there is consent between two adults, then it is legal. infact, there r some people who love to suck their own or their partners blood. all sorts of fetish exist out there. nothing illegal about it. If someone was sucking a child's blood though, then that will be a problem.
this is ironic because children's rights do not exist in Africa. violence towards children, beatings etc is perfectly acceptable behavior in most African countries. developed countries take this seriously. laws are there to protect people from harm. whether adult or child and chidren especially since they are not capable of protecting themselves. child marriages in Nigeria is so rampant. 15 yr old girls married to old men. no biggie. yet they claim "moral" stance against homosexuals. wtf

just because something is unusual doesn't mean it is illegal. examples of parahilias include Acrotomophilia (attraction to amputated people), Gerontophilia (attraction to elderly people) etc. might be disgusting but hey, laws are (and should be) based on logic not morals. If I am attracted to people with crossed eyes or attracted to dwarfs, what is your own bloody business? should we start arresting any normal sized person who shows romantic interest in aki and pawpaw because it is "strange" or "disgusting"?

It is just a third world country mentality to look for scapegoats (esp. a minority or disliked group that can't easily defend itself is usually targeted). Just a lot of violent tendencies in people due to frustration in life. and just a general predisposition to "fit in" if you are too different from others around you, you will become a target of persecution (usually witchcraft).
ex. people who love to sleep with their legs placed on the wall being accused of witchcraft and beaten to death etc. ridiculous. I place my legs on the wall sometimes. who cares. somehow all these "witches" are women, children and elderly. coincidentally people who have little power in society to defend themselves from the majority mob ie people looking for scapegoats to blame their problems in life on others.

trust me, if you are wretched in life, it is not the gays, "witches" or minorities that are causing your wretchedness. hard to believe ain't it?

mink505: pedophilia is a fetish. it is a paraphilia similar to zoophilia, sexual sadism and exhibitionism.
