RomanceRe: Why Do You Want To Get Married? by sage(m): 9:49pm On Aug 01, 2005
Ive seen the diffrent reasons y you guys want to get married, some of them funny though

let me take a little leverage and digress a bit with this true story

This was a conversation that i overheard in one of the fedral universities in nigeria b/w 3 female lectures. Two of them are married while one is not. they are all around 35 or 36 years. This conversation took place just after the weeding of soccer star Kanu Nwankwo.

UL: Imagine what Kanu has done. He has finally gone and married a small girl. Men are heartless. After going out with so many girls he has settled for a small girl of 18yrs that does not know much.

MW1: I think it is a case of who he wants and loves

UL: No, i think he has gotten what he wants from all those girls and he has now settled for a small girl. There was a time he was even flaunting miss world(the one from nigeria) everywhere he went but that he must have gotten what he wants and had dropped her immediately and has denied any romantic link ever. INFACT I THINK MOST, IF NOT ALL MEN DONT MARRY ANY GIRL THAT THEY HAVE TASTED B/4.

MW2: i disagree with you there. My husband and i have rocked life since our university dayz and he still wanted me to marry him and was alwayz on his knees begging when ever i opted to leave. The fact that we had been having sex did not make him want to leave me.

MW1: Me too, back then i used to spend some weekends at his place, now we are still happily married. infact he is the kind of a man that would not marry you if you guyz have not been intimate.

UL: But i think most men still don't want women that they had ever dated.

MW1: NO. i think it comes from maybe the kind of guyz you have been meeting. Most of the men i know marry there ladies even if they have been together for a long time.

UL; Most men to me are devils..............................

I left the conversation at this stage. They never knew i was hearing what they were saying.

THE REAL PROBLEM OF THE UNMARRIED LADY(WHO BY THE WAY HAS A PHD), which her married lady friends were not bold enough to tell her but they knew, as did every other person in the dept and faculty, was that the lady was TOO AGRRESSIVE, ASSERTIVE, AUTHORITARIAN AND INTIMIDATING, and would virtually scare off any man who came near her. I could not blame any guy who did not want to settle with her b/because it would take you only 30 mins with her to see that bringing her into your life might be burning urself with fire. She is bitter with guyz 4 reasons i could understand. She may have had it rough with them but as aguy i could see y most guyz would take off despite the fact that she is well educated and earns big money. The bad boys she might have dealt with might have noticed her very fiery diposition and then might have just taken advantage of her and then take off as fast as there legs could carry them.
If i were in a situation were i was dating her, i would simply opt out without getting physically intimate so she doesnt feel too bad. Not many men could stand that

Should i have posted this in pinkys thread of how to find your man?
PoliticsRe: Permanent Seat on UN Security Council for Nigeria? by sage(m): 5:51pm On Aug 01, 2005
infact, i have just seen in the news that africa is considering dropping its insistence on 2 seats with veto power becauce they now realise it would never come to pass, but are instead asking 4 2 perm seats without veto power, which is almost the same as the 2 seats that they have alwayz held. What makes the permanent members so powerful is their veto power and without it u r nothing but a temporary member
PoliticsRe: Permanent Seat on UN Security Council for Nigeria? by sage(m): 5:11pm On Aug 01, 2005
i realise the big influence that nigeria has in africa as a whole which is a big plus but it is the views of the western world that matters. If i were assigning permanent seats, i would sure have given nigeria one (my own misguided patriotism huh) but the west has the final say, or so most guyz who dont agree would find out. Left with the U.S. they would want to kick china out.
PoliticsRe: Permanent Seat on UN Security Council for Nigeria? by sage(m): 5:06pm On Aug 01, 2005
Guyz im back
What is wrong with some guyz.
Before we end up killing ourselves on this forum, the west DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT want to give any african country any permanent seat on the security council and i will assure u they would scuttle any moves to do that. THe U.S is already promising to veto any change even though it is determined by the general assembly. The second problem comes from african nations themselves with some north african nations opposing the moves as they feel that it might make them less powerful in africa. They dont want very powerful neighbours

Like i said b/4 even if the very remote possibility of it happening comes to pass, the west would like it to be egypt and south africa( i am not asking u to give me ur misguided patriotism or question mine) i am just giving u the western view of nigeria. Egypt is a friendly nation with the U.S and south africa is very stable. The west see nigeria as volatile and would not be so keen on nigeria. I am not saying they would not get it, but the probability is as remote as Africa getting a permanent seat on the security council or worse.

4 guyz that dont know, Russia and china got permanent seats because of the role that they played in WW2

And i repeat, i am not against somebody who has a better opportunity inother lands taking it up, its life guyz and u dont know where u could make it best. It has nothing to do with patriotism

@lordimpard

Sheva and rebov were europes deadliest and most coveted strike force then, so they really had a good chance of winning the champs league then. I agree with the thought that if they had met man u no man u victory in 99 CL. Regarding this yrs draws, sorry 4 everton. U just have to look at the transfer market and u will know what there fate would be. i expect a villareal victory, home and away. The toughest march 4 me is real betis vs monaco and udinese vs sporting lisbon

if spain were governed accordain to catholic laws, why have they legalised gay marriages and gay adoption of children.
What i am saying is not just about the faith of thecomon people, its incoperating religion into governance.

Point of correction NIGERIA IS THE MOST RELIGIOUS COUNTRY ON EARTH, far more religious than any other country even Saudi Arabia and Iran.
China, Russia, and other east asian countries do not allow religion to dictate how a country is run and european countries which were ruled by religious goverments started to progress after they ousted religion from goverment.
PoliticsRe: Enforcement of Sharia Law in Muslim States by sage(op): 3:53pm On Jul 28, 2005
Stopping sharia law is not as easy as it looks b/cos some adherents(some of who are clearly hypocritical) would see such a move as infringing on there religious 'rights'
PoliticsRe: Permanent Seat on UN Security Council for Nigeria? by sage(m): 3:39pm On Jul 28, 2005
@joftech and chimanu2000

i could not disagree with you guyz more. I dont support mass exit from ones country but i do not like critisizing a persons decision the way u guyz are doing. If somebody has better oportunities in life some other place, i do not see y he should not grab it. This ur boy boy theory is funny cos many many nigerians have very good jobs in the west so dont critisize other peoples decisions that way.
On the question of permanent seats, the major world powers are still not in support of 2 permanent seats for africa, so the possibility of that happening is very remote. But in a case where it happens, Egypt and South Africa would get it. Reasons

1 South Africa is a stable democracy and economically prosperous, both of which nigeria lacks

2 Egypt is a big influence on the middle east and the west would want a country that supports its views in the middleast
I dont think the west would want a country some think it is so volatile it would disintegrate to have a permanent seat, a country like nigeria
And talking of Bostwana, it is a Stable democracy and econnomically prosperous just like south africa

The Sharia Law; what do you think about it

The Kano State Government has started to implement the segregation of men and women. Some nominal Christians are complaining that they are also beign compelled to follow Sharia law. What do you guys really think about the Sharia law and its segregstion of males and females?

Nairaland GeneralRe: The Nigerian Police Force: How do you view them? by sage(m): 5:19pm On Jul 27, 2005
Human rights watch just released a report alleging that the nigerian police stil continues to use toture on detainees. The report termed 'Rest in piecies' is a well documented report based on about 50 interviews of previous detainees. Several horrible toture methods are described and elaborated. The fedral govt is yet to respond. What do you guyz think about the report and has anybody had a bad experience with the police. if so pls come foward with your experiences and stories.

I am no fan of the 3 clubs but of all ( liverpool included) i think it is Liverpool (their league and european record proves that). Now guyz dont argue that, its there 4 all to see(and i am no pool fan either)

TravelRe: Desperate to Travel to Europe by sage(m): 4:15pm On Jul 27, 2005
I dont see any reason y anybody should be crazy to travel to europe without anykind of qualification(not even O Level). It is just when he reaches there he would see the reality. The problem i guess comes from the kind of life that those who come back from western lands display. They spend all their money extravagantly and then come back to start saving again. Poverty is also to blame and our mentality is part of the problem too. We like easy money and so many people think u can get that in europe and the west.

Pls guyz people living in the west live normal lives(not extravagant ones) and have problems just like anyone else

My Milan should also buy at least one good defender this season; all the defenders r above 30 and the likes of Stam and Maldini get more confused ass the dayz go by. But its still Milan esp with Shevi and Gilardino strike force vall the way 4 both the scudetto and the champions league grin

Mikel could do himself some favour by playing in the italian league. But if he wants the English premier league, Man u will be good as he has a chance of displacing Scholes in a short time
