ok i understand u now. Nigerians are the only ones without sin. They are sinless that is y natural disasters have not befallen them that much right? (apart from occassional flooding, landslides and erosions of some places)

From the days of Abraham, Moses, etc, God always used natural disasters to punish those who violated his rules.
This kind of statements is unfortunate.

The earthquakes that hit central africa yesterday and killed a few children was it sent by God to punish those children? The homeless from kenya to tanzania to congo to burundi to rwanda, was God punishing all those countries?

It pains me when people expose their ignorance in public without any desire tolearn. Their mind is made up and they just refuse to see reason even in the light of the Word. Let any one that want to verify anything carry a patient who is certified sick by any hospital of your choice. Register him with the Christ Embasy Healing School (ofcourse that is done with medical record only) and then get the same doctors and lab scientists to conduct their tests after Pastor Chris would have ministered to the sick man. If nothing happens, you can them talk out of knowledge not ignorance. Wisodm is profitable to direct.
As for the ban, why have they not banned all the other things that glorify the kingdom of darkness. What of the obscenities that have crept into the home videos? And if I may ask: Who made NBC the discerner of Spiritual Verities?? Dear Christians, who has bewitched you? Have you started in the spirit ans now want to continue in the flesh? Where is the gift of discernment? And even if there is anything false or fake in the miracles (if that is the result of your discernment), did your Lord, Master and Employer not say that the wheat should be allowed to grow with the tares? Are you now wiser than Him??
Did He not say that you will do greater works than He did?? And when He came to the pool of Bethsaida, did He heal all the sick or just the crippled man??
Please ask yourself some honest questions and let the Spirit of god guide you, lest you become the ignorant and zealous Saul(Paul) that kicked against the pricks in his bid to serve and work for God.
Shalom!
My friend i think it is me thet it really pains when ignorant people think others are ignorant. Why cant they verify their miracles? Millions of Aids patients in the miracle performing countries of Africa are dying while people in the west who go for medical treatment live for 20, 30, 40 yrs without problems. Who is decieving who? Even Paul commended those who verified all he taught and did to make sure they were correct b/4 believing. Y should the nigerian pastors say that verifying miracles is testing GOD? Even Paul did not say that.

The thing is, even here in North America, with the social security number and stuff, the Government still can't track some people.

Let them start school fully, pay for their tuition and school necessities and just give them some spending cash. Even if their minds are not set to get educated, they still gain something at the end of the day.

They may not appreciate it, but remember it’s better late than never.
I have a feeling you have not lived in nigeria. We do not keep records . in foreign countries you can be tracked down,( you can't get work anywhere without your SSN and so youl have to pay back) but many people in nigeria dont even have birth certificates or any records on the computers.

For example take the case of giving drivers tickets. In western lands they give u a ticket and let u go b/because they know paying up is inevitable but try that in Nigeria, i assure u all the molue drivers will tear up the ticket and wont pay a cent.

Lets stop beign sentimental on issues and look at it the way it is.

Makeda:
Hi everyone! I am new to this forum and I just had to comment when I saw this topic. Ok first I would like to start by saying I am an African American woman who is HOPELESSLY in love with a wonderful Nigerian man, who is a virgin. We are preparing to get married next year and I am so excited because with both of us being Christian we have decided to not have sex until our wedding night. But let me drop a little knowledge on my ladies who are still virgins. When you have sex with a man who is so experienced it can be a disadvantage because he is undoubtedly going to use the same tired tactics and techniques on you that he has used on Sally, Jane, Susan, etc,..... There is no one single set pleasure principle for women. All women are different and we all like different things. No two women are turned on by the same things. A womans body is a mine field of buttons that lead to different kinds of explosions and sometimes a man who has been around the block a few times cannot fully appreciate your body, and he thinks he is an expert when it comes to your pleasure. He sometimes does not care to take time to see what makes you tick, because he thinks he knows it all. He has lost his curiosity when it comes to the mystery of the female body. But a man who is a virgin has no experience and this is wonderful because you can teach him exactly what makes you feel good. You can just lay down and let him have a good time touching and kissing you all over to see what gives you pleasure. Then when he hits a right button and you explode you get to watch his eyes light up with excitement as he memorizes your pleasure spots. He will be very eager to learn what makes you moan, giggle or scream out his name. Then too you get to experience his emotions and feelings after he has sex for the first time. Then too you can explore each other freely without thoughts running through your mind like asking yourself- Am I better or worse than the last person they were with?? So yes I would say, I would definitely ppreferto marry a virgin. But this is just my opinion, so please do not blast me too bad, cheesy!!
Seems like u are the one to bring the experience into the mairriage, hmmmmmmmmmm nice. who says its only a man that can bring experience into a marriage? (unless you are a sexist)

Katrina or rita will never occur in Nigeria because i think it's more of a spiritual thing and though we might not have the infrastructures on ground because of our govts insensitivity, we have God with us.
Katrina was a punishment on america for evacuating the jews from the promise land which God gave them thereby making americans evacuate their own homes. In the same vein, God choose new orleans in particular as an example because of their great sins in the sight of God.
I cant believe an inteligent creature can make a quote like this. So God sent the tsunamis to punish indonesia, india, thailand, burma, malaysia etc. God killed the 250000 innocent people? God sent the earthquakes that hit china, japan, korea and kill thousands each year? God sent katrina to punish the poor balck ones in the U.S for living in an "evil' country and city? Maybe god sent the terrorists too that bombed london to punish Britain for beign an ally 4 'evil'.

I never seem to stop beign amazed by Nigerians. From that above statement i can also infer that God sent corruption, lawlessness, political assasinations, poverty, desperation, 419, witchcrafting etc to reward Nigerians for beign the most righteous set of people on earth?. I think now i understand

I think I'm beginning to fall for the idea of having sex before marriage. If it is true that there are very few virgins, and it is also true that there are very few girls I will actually enjoy sharing a life with, then the probability of finding a girl that satisfies both conditions and also likes me is infinitesimally small.

One must therefore forget about it, right?

Seun all we are trying to let you know is that a person is not simply good or bad based on virginity. Somebody that you may cherish and has the kind of personality that you really like and you can see a future with might not be a virgin. Virginity should not be a hindrance. Virgins dont alwayz make better spouses.

cry cryUnfortunately women also see themselves as sex objects by classifying themselves into 'used' and 'not used'. If i go by the parameters of all these virgin blabas then no woman who has been married b/4 has a right to be remarried since she has been 'used'( u might well speculate endlessly and keep coming up with permutations as to how many times she was 'used')

And all you young kids on this forum that keep talking about images of intimacy alwayz beign on your mind (is it by any coincidence that they are all around 20yrs), dont you have any serious work doing huh huh huh

Vancouver Island might be a nice, romantic place and good for relaxation. But I think in terms of insecurity, hygiene, spending hours travelling 2 and from work, Lagos is no different from the so called BBC's homeland (Britain) capital, London.
London is rubbish, it's full of crime, there's so much gun crime there, it's a dirty place and highly insecure. I'll advise BBC to stop politicking, and face reality. A British MP once said Britain should be and archaic country.
As far as i am concerned, Lagos, the former capital of the Giant of Africa, my beloveth Country, Nigeria is a 1001% better than BBC's headquarter base which of course is London.
Comments like these are just sentimental. Crime control, level of dirtiness..................., whatever u cannot compare naija with the west. Nairaland GeneralRe: Gender Inequality: Was Feminism Just a Fad? by sage(m): 9:12pm On Nov 15, 2005
I wish women's rights would be fully recognized but unfortunately in the present world that we live in, i am tempted to believe what one man said on T.V .......... There can not be gender equality ever, but women empowerment up to the highest level. He was saying that women would never be equal to men but that women can be empowered to reach up to very high levels and in a way i feel he is right. Many men would simply not want women to express there rights and the other men who through one side of there mouth say that they support gender equality and that women should stop accepting whatever men dish out to them are the same men that use old age stereotypes 4 women. It is an unfortunate situation.

This meaning women can be giving opportunities in politics, etc even up o the highest level but on most social issues, they are given simple steroetypes by the very same men who claim they want gender equality.

Just maybe Men and women are not equal............? Let the guns begin exploding........................ comments welcome

All this virginity thing again. I had decided not to contribute to any virginity discussion again but........................

There are many sides to this.

1. The fact that a woman is a virgin or not is not an issue to me. If somebody comes around me saying i am a virgin bla, bla, is it going to make me think of her as better than every other woman... NO

2. Would i love my woman less because of virginity................. NO

3. DO virgins make 4 better households (proven?) ...................NO

4. I once contributed to a discussion thread on this nairaland forum about checking ur partners messages and i said that trust was enough in a loving relationship but Seun was like how will only trust do and in my mind i am like after marrying a virgin and u still stress ur life watching her every move is the level of trust higher than those of others married.........................NO
( contrary to what people idealistically argue and say most men who marry virgins still dont have a higher level of trust in them. They are still apprehensive of what these ladies do when they are not around)

Sorry girl, it's a man's world, they say.
With comments like these it will alwayz be a mans world (y do women complain anyway since they see themselves as simple articles classified into used and not used)

If i were a woman, would i marry a man that puts emphasis on virginity even if i were a virgin......................NO (men who classify women as sexual objects and who are dogmatic on issues like that have flexibility problems when it comes to other things which involve decision making in life. I grew up in the midst of these kinds of enviroment and i know. I have seen it happen time and again.

Does marriage of a virgin assure more success of a marriage..................................NO

On the other hand since some people insist they MUST marry a virgin, others should please respect there decision and let them accept whatever comes from that. I dont see the use of arguing this topic.

BOTTOM LINE. A woman can be a virgin 4 only one sexual encounter, i dont see how that changes their personality which is what i use to rate ladies. I see all women as the same because THEY WILL ALL CROSS THE LINE ONE DAY AND STILL DO WHAT THEY WANT TO DO. Y would virginity be an issue if i see a woman i love all her characteristics?

I have friends who have slept with women who were married as virgins and are still in their husbands house and i have also seen virgin girl marriages fail woefuly.
Like most things in life, there are two sides to this story.

Out of curiosity i want to ask women how they are able to relate with guyz who are dogmatic and narrow minded as regards to insisting on virginity. I mean Guyz that say i love you because you are a virgin and i hate ALL girls that are not virgins ( like some guyz on this forum). On what will you guyz base ur relationship, love, virginity what. And would he not love you much if you were not a virgin. if so DOES HE REALLY LOVE YOU?

Yes, it is wrong because if all girls engage in premarital sex I will not be able to marry a virgin!
Seun is it not unusual that you think this way. Il rather have it the other way round. And what makes u think that nobody is hurt through homosexuality. Gay motherfuckers almost jumped me in school the other day, or are u saying it hurts no one because u feel it does not affect you.
And one more thought, i have a friend who has a girlfriend who is technically a virgin(she still has her hymen if she has not lost it through excercise or some other means) but she satisfies my close friend by sucking his dick every other day. She insists she wants to remain a virgin, so my friend let her be as long as he sucks his dick grin grin grin. In my mind i was like somebody who insists that he MUST marry a virgin who gets her would think he has won but unfortunatly, she knows that the guy can give her a good banging but she just wants to give her future husband her virginity but she still says she wants the real stuff. I dont thinkanything would stop her from getting it once she loses the virginity factor wink wink wink.
My friend in Abuja called me and told me he was rolling with one young Hajia, married when she was still very young and a virgin but now she sucks my guys dick all the time and he gives her the time of her life. I was asking my friend y would he do with a married woman and he was like she didnot do anything when she was young, now she is catching up. She had to be a virgin when she is given to her husband(some notherners do that) now she IS STILL doing what she wants
and i am like WHAT the hell in the world is all this Hullabuba about virgins huh huhgrin grin grin grin

These are REAL experiences. Just food 4 thought though rolleyes rolleyes rolleyes

Most of us Nigerians are very religious and will answer this question very easily: "I judge what is right and what is wrong based on God's word!" But when pressed further you'll discover that they engage in socialy approved but unbiblical acts like premarital sex, lying, et cetera and they will do more of the same tommorrow.

Let me tell you how I judge right and wrong. If I think it is right, it is right. If I think it is wrong, it is wrong. That is, after analyzing the consequences of such actions on my life and life of others I care about. For example, unlike many Nairaland members:
- I don't think homosexuality is wrong because it harms no-one. Also, I happen to think that parental domination of an adult is wrong, but most Nigerians think that it is right. if I think it is wrong, it is wrong!
Seun since homosexuality is not wrong, is premarital sex (straight) wrong?

So many Nigerians do not comprehend the extent of religious madness in Nigeria and will not unless they have lived in other countries even in west africa. People from other places are amazed at the number of churches in nigeria. Nigeria is by far the worlds most religious country, even more than all islamic countries. The irony is that in other countries things seem to function, or rather function better than things in nigeria. The average pastor in nigeria is greedy and so are the majority of the attendees. Everybody wants to hear automatic riches. Wake up folks, its only through hard work and time u can succed, unless u r a pastor and u r ripping people off.

Sage,

Please do not join the camp of those who talk out of ignorance. Who told you that there have not been cases of confirmed Aids patients being heald. There have been several of such cases, too numerous to mention. With certificates confirming their situations before and after their healings.

In the local church where i worship, we have living testimonies of people who have been heald of full blown AIDS! One of the beneficiaries of this miracle working power of God is my personal friend. In case you do not realise, what you you are questioning is not just the genuinness of these men of God, but the ability of God to cure AIDS.

I challenge you, if you have any such case, to go online and book an appointment for your him/her with the healing school of Christembassy and experience God's miraculous power for yourself. www.christembassyhealingschool.org

The victim of AIDS does not even need to see the man of God if He is Born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit... and if he/ she can fully comprehend and appropriate God's Word in his/her life... allowing the Word to produce results in his/her body!

Rom. 8:11

This might be part of the reason, though i feel presonal vendetta also played a part.

On the economic side, opec countries like nigeria sell their oil in dollars which is part of the reason y the fluctuations and the increase in output of oil cannot do anything to help the value of the naira, even if the current level of output is doubled. the same goes 4 lending from international financial institutions. Its just a way that the U.S maintains their grip on world power and economy.
