Timonaira:
RISE UP GREAT SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE IJAW NATION. YOU CAN ACHIEVE AND ALSO ATTAIN WHATEVER HEIGHT YOU SET TO ATTAIN IN LIFE

Many years ago, I am very sure Multitudes wouldn't have believed that an Ijaw young man from Engenni-Ogbogolo/Ogbia Community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State can rule the global music scene.

But today it is a reality. An illustrious son of the Ijaw nation; Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy is ruling the world with his song 'TWICE AS TALL' which won the 'BEST GLOBAL MUSIC ALBUM' in the just concluded GRAMMY AWARD yesterday.

Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy was born into a hostile, polluted, devastated and degraded Niger Delta volatile environment.

Beside environmental factor, peer pressure and influence, economic pressure and other challenges that would have limited his quest for greatness were all there. But in the midst of the above, he was focused on surmounting obstacles that may pose as threats or attempt to stop him from achieving his great goals.

So, it is obvious that his determination to succeed in the midst of daunting challenges helped him to conquer his environment and today, he is celebrated all over the world.

As a matter of fact, the world stood still for Burna Boy yesterday being Sunday 14th March, 2021. Presidents of countries, Billionaires, captains of industry, the high and mighty including the poor and downtrodden all over the world are celebrating the unprecedented success of Burna Boy.

My dear Ijaw brothers and sisters, Ijaws are like Jews. We are like endangered species. Our unimaginable and unquantifiable blessings from Almighty God has become great sources of envy, jealousy and hatred. But in the midst of the above, we must strive to succeed and to survive. We are like travelers along the river and sea whose boat capsized and if we do not swim to safety, we shall perish. We need to rise up.

We are all endowed with one talent, blessing or the other outside our educational pursuit and career. We must maximize our talents to add value to ourselves and society. We do not need to waste our God given talents, skills and prowess.

We must discourage crime and criminality and in their place encourage creativity, productivity and hard-work.

Let us indulge in meaningful ventures that will bring honour and pride to our families and the Ijaw nation and not on dishonourable, disgraceful and embarrassing unproductive and unrewarding ventures.

We want the Ijaw nation to produce more Dr. Goodluck Jonathan GCFR, Prof. John Pepper Clark, Prof. Gabriel Okara, Prof. E.J. Alagoa, Timaya, Timi Dakolo, Diezani Allison-Madueke, Amb. Dr. Godknows Boladei Igali, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, Barr. Blessing Ebizi Eradiri, Nengi Rebecca Hampson, Samson Siasia, Daniel Igali, Finidi George and others who are doing well in their various fields of endeavours.

Congratulations once again to Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy the worthy Ambassador of the Ijaw nation in the Music and Entertainment Industry that is ruling the global music scene.

We love and cherish you Burna Boy. This is just the beginning of greater blessings to come.

The fatherhood of God confers on you a positioning that enables you to walk and live in dominion, therefore you will enjoy the blessing and benefits of your rebirth without fail.

You are an overcomer over everything that makes others to groan and sorrow in this world. Whatever pain or pressure the world is subjected to shall not overcome you. No evil will overcome you, no darkness will overcome you. In every direction you turn you shall experience the joy of an overcomer. Every forces of opposition that comes against you will be a walk over.

You are victorious. Your fàith shall be too strong for every mountain of impossibility to resist. Your faith will not shrink nor fail. You shall obtain a good report and a testimony for which you will be celebrated in all areas of your life.

There is an undeniable divine rebirth, in Jesus name! Amen!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and you are no exception.

Winning the Grammy is the best thing that would ever happen to a musician. For the records, all those things you mentioned are no biggie for most popular musicians. Of course, most of them have passed that stage.

Winning the Grammy (the biggest musical award in the United States) is the boldest statement any living musician can make. It goes to show that you have carved a niche for yourself in the global mainstream music space.

Just like Abraham Maslow's principle (Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs) clearly stated, life is in hierarchy. When you accomplish one, you progress to the next. Nobody will ever be satisfied until they get to the peak of the pyramid.
yeah that is right and Maslow observed that human desire is insatiable.

Nigeria have bad leaders and myopic followers. This is the sad reality.
Moneyboyz:
I'm not a very good writer but I will try and detail this as it comes from my heart.

First I will start with
PENSION
Why is it that only government workers get pension after they retire and not the common man, not everyone is fortunate enough to work in a government industry, millions of elderly Nigerians hustles till they clocked 60 plus, most of them can't do the jobs they are used to anymore and they are left with nothing, no means for survival, to get two meal a day becomes a problem. Why is the government not paying the elderly every month. You see most of them in the street's begging for alms, this really breaks my heart.

The Disabled
There was a day I boarded a bus and and a very young slowpoke boy at the bus stop begging for alms with saliva all over his body and face. My God I couldn't hold my tears I had to give him my change cause no amount of money I had on me that day would solve his problem, he needs help and care.
Later while the bus moved forward a woman entered the bus sitting beside me, she saw my eyes dripping with tears and got scared and alighted immediately.
I laughed cause she wouldn't understand.
Why are these people left unattended to?
I don't think a government facility exists somewhere to accommodate and empower these people who I believe has something to offer this country.
You see mentally unstable people roaming the streets which is very wrong.

Government Scholarship/Student Loan

It amazes me that only those who made it to social media trending posts get government help these days.
Meanwhile there are millions of brilliant kids out there not very fortunate to further their education cause education isn't free, I dropped out a in 2016 when I couldn't pay my school fees and couldn't continue till date.
If there was a fund accessible for such needs I would have taken it and would have been a greater person today. There are many out there like me, what hope is there for us.

Free or Cheap Medical Services.

Many Nigerians die from common illness everyday. Some due to ignorance while some just don't have the money for treatment. You hear something like deposits or you are on your own. Also there ain't enough medical centers and the ones that exist looks like something from the 1960s with no equipments while the big ones are overcrowded. They keep refering you till the patient dies on the way.
Yet government officials go abroad to treat common headache.
Nigeria which way.

Startup Funds
We have many bright minds with ideas in Nigeria but an idea without money will fade away like a dream. Why are there no startup Funds to bring forth our ideas? Ideas that will create employment and development for the country.
Who did we offend?
Where did all the oil money go to for 50 years, how will Nigeria triumph without taking care of her citizen's?

Modern day slavery by Chinese/Lebanese and Indian employers
This is something that has been going on for a while now, I wonder what the labor union has been doing.
They hire and fire you at will, no contract, no incentive, you work 7 to 7 for 18k a month. Whatever happened to 8 to 5 work hour and 3 shifts routine. I was very angry the day a neighbor told me that these fuçking Chinese Indian and Lebanese employers mandate you to call them Master (people wey be say na truck them use load them come 9ja) she told one day she was working and got tired and said God bless Nigeria she almost got fired, that the Chinese man told her to go and look for work in Nigeria.
A friends arm got amputated by a machine and he got nothing.
I'm not even surprised because we are third class citizens I'm our own country, they use police to harass anyone how they like and I feel this bullshít must stop.

Nigerians are suffering and smiling, things are hard, we can't protest without the police there to harass us, can't find a decent job without terms and conditions, can't study in peace within lecturers harassing the female student, no decent electricity supply without PHCN collecting bribe, you can't even go to the police station to report a crime without paying some money before policemen will follow you. Our roads are bad, the government owns the gravel, cement, etc, why can't they just give these materials for free and reduce the workmanship costs of road construction. Our public primary schools looks like something from the 1800s.

I'm so pained right now I feel like the future is being stolen right from under our nose.
I wanna know what next step I need to take cause I'm angry as I write all this. Which authorities do I or We need to write to for our concerns to heard?

Half if not more than half of the recommendations are geared towards insecurity, tells you how unsafe the city is. Now, with the ongoing soot reverberating the entire city, or the can imagine how life is in Port-Harcourt - capital of the one-city state called Rivers. Better Uyo than Port-Harcourt - low crime rates and literally no soot whatsoever.
you are right but can you compare the human capital development in PH to Uyo?
No industry in Uyo and Uyo is small compared to PH.
I have lived in both cities.
