nairalanda1:

Without watching the video, it is very easy
1.Nollywood is lucrative, but it is not that lucrative. The truth is, someone like Pete Edochie and Chika Okpalla should be multibillionaires by now with what they have done in the industry over the years, but they aren't...because they can't command the salaries or money that say a American actor of their calibre can command.
2.Still on one, the piracy in the industry further chops earnings. When some random ni++a is copying your latest film and selling it for less than the original, or someone is already streaming or offering torrent online for free...what else can be done. Earnings eaten into.
3.Still on no 1....no effort has been made to market nollywood outside parts of Africa. I mean...Indian films are popular all over the world, even in places where you don't expect. Ditto Hong Kong films. Why not Nollywood? Bad marketing limits our spread...and the money that can be made by actors.
4. Most Nigerians do not take care of their health. People like Mr Ibu, doctor tells them they are diabetic, they put them on drugs...the patient then stops taking their drugs and trust God, or trust herbs. Then when kasalla burst, and the kidney or legs are in a bad state, that is when they will start spending money like water.(Try spending money for dialysis 3 times weekly, you can have 100 billion naira in your account, and half of that would be gone in a year....).
I mean, last year Punch published the story of a 86 year old Nigerian who had been diabetic for over 40 years, and was still in good shape. He listened to his doctors, changed his diet, and took his darn drugs as and at when due. Most Nigerians are strong head when it comes to drugs....especially for diabetes and hypertension, till problem starts.
At least thankfully some people are changing their lifestyle. Most Nigerians are not. How many Nigerians do exercise regularly? I bet you it is less than 10% nationwide..from Sokoto to Port hARCOURT. And when the body goes bust, we go dey spend money. Your points are valid |

Politicstoday: it’s very unfortunate seriously. Our court has gone to the highest bidder. Even the sacking of Plateau State governor is illegal too and not in term of law. Imagine the same Appeal court have cleared Pdp in plateau state from organising congress in the State. Infact fact are coming out on the plateau case too. APC just want to remove the opposition state cos’ of Tinubu reelection in 2027. Very unfortunate seriously. Yes, the sad reality 😢 |

fergie001: Should be a big minus tbh. He will be the first Bayelsan from the Bayelsa High Court to head to the SC. I don't expect this kind of things from senior judges.
Even Elfreda isn't better. She sacked some members but allowed rerun for Mwadkwon & Agah. Why? The stronger judges were shut out, perhaps for certain reasons.
I think this one is YPP or so.
These ones are combative. Tony Nwoye Kee, I remember his time as NANS President. Akpabio wants someone he can control.. The sad reality 😢 |

DissTroy: We had it re-gazetted to "1929 Women Massacre", but some persons are still being cunning about it to push a narrative. We've even written official letters to media houses which wrongly call it "Aba Women Riot".
And it wasn't a riot. Unarmed women protesting heavy taxation were shot dead over the course of days.
Picture 1: The statue of Madam Udoma (mother of Sir Egbert Udo Udoma, first African with a PhD in law from Oxford University, supreme court justice, and Chief Justice of Uganda) who led the protests in front of what is today Ikot Abasi LG council in Akwa Ibom.
Picture 2: 1929 Women War Memorial (one of only two in the world) in Ikot Abasi just metres away.
The main protestors were Ikot Abasi women and Opobo women who crossed over to protest. Nothing to do with Aba. So true Kudos for revealing the truth about the 1929 event A lot of lies have been said in this Geographic space. |

Romance › Re: “Nigerian Girls Go Into Relationship For Money” – South African Star Laments by sageb: 9:37pm On Nov 17, 2023 |
DyshApp: Popular South African reality star Malibongwe Gumede has stated that the majority of Nigerian women enter into relationships with men both out of love and to extract money from them.
She made this claim in a recent episode of the Frankly Speaking podcast, which is co-anchored by Nollywood actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, also known as Nedu Wazobia.
Video:
She claimed that in contrast to Nigerian women, South African women approach men they like and initiate a relationship with them without taking into account the man’s financial status.
According to her, a South African woman would do whatever it takes to be with her partner, regardless of the man’s financial situation.
Malibongwe Gumede said,
“We South African women, if we like a guy, let’s say a Nigerian guy, we will not hide our feelings. You don’t even have to start spending money before I can do anything with you. If I like you, I like you. It’s genuine.
But with Nigerian girls, what I’ve noticed is that first, they need to suck everything out of you. That’s what I’ve noticed about Nigerian girls. They love money too much. You know, South African girls, we can love you even if you don’t have money, as long as you are trying. But with Nigerian girls, it’s all about the money. If you don’t have money, they won’t even speak to you. What will they be gaining from you if you don’t have the money to maintain their lifestyles?”

Fasindo:

Congratulations Bayelsans
Is GEJ subtly saying that APC is synonymous to insecurity, because apart from PDP the only party that could have captured Balyesa with their snatch it's, grab it and run away mantra is APC.
There is no week that will pass without hearing one form of security threat in key APC states like: Benue, Plateau, Borno, Kogi, Imo,Ogun, Lagos, Kaduna, Yobe, Ondo etc Even Abuja where the snatch it, grab it and run away master is sitting is not spared.
When ever US issues a travel ban, check most of the state are always governed by APC. 90% are always APC states.
Congratulations to Bayelsan from freeing from APC insecurity issue. I only pity Kano that they have grabbed, snatched and added to their insecurity worsening State.
Once I again, I Congratulate the good people of Bayelsa. Imo people should just pray for the next for years to come fast. You've said it all, insecurity hinders development. |
