God will bless you for this. You outrightly nailed it.

I am currently dating this kind of lady, she is very pretty, ready to go out of her way to make things happen for me, especially financial wise, but when it comes to communicating my mind and dreams to her, she's always closed minded, she doesn't see things the way I do, she has never for once initiated any logical discussion, she appears to be empty headed, each time I spend with her seems to be boring, she's not a goal oriented and result driven lady, it's so sad I can't cope with awkward and barbaric way of life
Have you spoken to her about these things you observed about her?
What's her level of education?
You need to enquire from her to know if it's lack of ambition or lack of resources.

Politics › Re: Point Of Correction By Senator Ita Giwa. This Is Who Iam by sageb: 11:16am On Sep 19, 2023
ETIIKO:
As a public figure of several decades standing, my antecedents are widely known. Nevertheless, it has become necessary to restate who I am and correct some misleading information made about my person.
My name is Florence Mayen Ita-Giwa (Asibong Ita, was also my maiden native Efik name). I was born on the 19th of February 1946. Although I do not have a birth certificate, I have an age declaration document sworn to by my late Mother, which I have used all my life. My mother almost died of post-partum hemorrhage during my birth at the hospital; a situation which was made worse as the hospital did not have a blood bank. The story of the circumstances of my birth stuck in my memory, and because of it I donated a blood bank to the hospital, much later in life.
My late Father, Obong Ofiong Umoh Ita Ofiong, was a traditional Ruler in Atabong, Bakassi. He attended Methodist Boys’ High School, Oron (founded in 1905) back in the early 20th century. His parents’ choice to send him to school in Oron was influenced by the fact that Archibong Town, and then James Town, both in Bakassi, were the first ports of call of the Methodist Church Mission in Nigeria in 1893. And, when the Mission set up its first school in these parts, it was natural that my late Father would be educated there. My mother, the late Chief (Mrs.) Beatrice Bassey Ita, was at first a school teacher before venturing into journalism and becoming a renowned pioneering female journalist in South East of Nigeria. Her parents were from the Ekpo Abasi Royal House of Calabar, and their family house was No. 19 Boco Street at Bayside of Calabar South Local Government Area in Cross River State, where I grew up right from infancy until we moved to No. 55 Beecroft Street, also at Bayside in Calabar South. I vividly recall how my Mom used to entertain family and friends with tea in the afternoons; a veritable vestige of Calabar's affinity with the culture of the British colonialists.
I started my education as a girl-child at the renowned Duke Town Primary School, Calabar (with a history dating back to 1846) before attending The Edgerly Memorial Girls’ School, also in Calabar. I took up Nursing as a Profession and went for training in it at Aba in the present-day Abia State, although my dear Mother had wished that I went into journalism like her. If there is anything like re-incarnation, I will still choose to belong to the noble profession of Nursing.
My late mother was an avowed Zikist, who worked as a correspondent for the Zik Group of Newspapers in Calabar. She eventually sought transfer to Aba in order to remain close and keep watch over me while I was undergoing my studies. The Nigerian civil war broke out while we were in Aba, and my mother and family chose to remain in the "Biafran" territory for the entire duration of the War until it ended in January 1970. I never set eyes on any federal troop or officer until when the war ended while we were at Ahiara, where we had fled to, having lost everything we owned in life. That is the closest exposure I had to fighting that raged between the armed forces during the Civil War. A Nigerian Military officer rescued us alongside other relatives and graciously arranged for our safe passage to Calabar. Sometime after we arrived in Calabar, I recall that my mother was briefly detained by the Federal authorities as was the late Margaret Ekpo. My mother was eventually employed by the Sketch Newspaper as the South Eastern State correspondent at the time, and Aremo Segun Osoba, who was its Managing Director. The photograph of myself, Ndidi Okereke Onyuike the former Director General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, and the late Cecilia Ekpenyong, the former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, which appeared in a book written by Brigadier General Alabi Isama was taken at a party in Port Harcourt sometime in the middle of 1970, long after the Civil War had ended.
I proceeded to the Kilburn Polytechnic London to train as a Medical Secretary. At the end of my studies, after my field work experience at the cancer follow-up department and periodontal department of the university college Hospital Gower Street, London, on the strict insistence of my mother, I returned to Nigeria and was immediately employed by Beecham Laboratories as a Medical Representative. After receiving some training in Pharmaceutical Detailing, I was then posted to be in charge of the company’s Northern Nigeria operations. After doing a good job at Beecham, I got head-hunted by Sandoz Pharmaceuticals and was appointed the Medical Representative in charge of Lagos State. I thereafter left paid employment to found Flobett Pharmacy and Med-Equip Limited, with branches at No. 1 Norman Williams Street, Ikoyi, and No. 1 Kofo Abayomi Street, Apapa – both in Lagos. Med-Equip Limited was an accredited agent of AJ Seward Medical Equipment UK and won a contract to fully equip seven 30-bed military hospitals (MRS) in different parts of Nigeria, including Zuru in Bornu State, Owode in Ogun State and Ibawa in Akwa Ibom State. To this day, I am still able to conceptualize and set up a hospital from the reception to the morbid section.
I joined politics, contested elections and won four very difficult contests starting from 1991, each time on “opposition party” platforms. I voluntarily opted out of seeking elective office to allow space for the next generation to express themselves in Nigerian politics, after my outing as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2003. As a law maker, I attended a course on Legislative Management at the Thames Valley University, London. I am currently working on a book on “Legislative Management and Parliamentary Lobbying” with the objective of sharing knowledge with the next generation of politicians, public office holders and the general public.
Apart from my daughter, I have 15 other lovely children that I brought out from the Creeks of Bakassi and single-handedly weaned, nurtured and groomed into responsible and promising persons; to the glory of God Almighty. The youngest of them is now nine years old. She was rescued from the creeks of Bakassi at just four months old. Today, she attends one of the best private schools in Calabar. I also have a pair of 14-year-old twin boys whose parents were killed right in their presence at the age of four. They both attend what is considered one of the best high schools in Calabar, Access School. Most of my other children have graduated from the best private universities in Nigeria and Ghana as Petroleum Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Computer Engineers and so on. In my family there are no titles or divisions, because I believe that a child is a child, no matter how he or she came into this world. All these children are mine, given to me by God. And, I am committed to training them into good and worthy citizens of Nigeria, complete with strong family values, love, respect and compassion for their fellow human beings.
It is common knowledge that a typical Calabar lady’s physiological issue cannot be “aesthetic augmentation”, but ‘reduction’. Besides, aesthetic procedures are not normally done under general anesthesia. So, a third-party or next-of-kin is not usually needed, unless there are underlying conditions which may be considered threats to the procedure, thereby warranting the assurance of a relative as surety. It is a fact that, 18 years ago I underwent liposuction (fat reduction) around my hips; a feature I obviously inherited from my late Mother. This was public knowledge, as I had informed the media. I do not do things and hide in the shadows, or are ashamed of. Nobody leaked any secret, as that procedure was public knowledge. I have consistently counselled younger women not to be scared of ageing, as it is an inevitable phase of life, but rather they should embrace the prospect of ageing gracefully and beautifully in good health, by embracing a healthy lifestyle and seeking any wholesome and safe medical intervention needed.
On a final note, I have always advised career women and female politicians to stay strong and courageous, and not to ever cave into the threats or bullying or blackmail of chauvinists and other predators, irrespective of their gender.
This is who I am. It is well. God bless you all.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: RE- A Letter To Unemployed People by sageb: 8:59am On Sep 18, 2023
Oyerinde16:
A rejoinder to this letter/topic- https://www.nairaland.com/7238163/letter-unemployed-people

1. Start a business, you say you don't have capital.
Ans: Can you start a viable business without capital... Many graduates have viable business but no capital.... you can only blame them for failing after providing capital...

2. They say get a job, you say there are no jobs.
Ans: Where are the jobs, did you provide jobs for the graduates and they refused to take or do it... if what you call job is Street cleaners or office cleaners for graduates, I'm sorry you did not provide job or solutions...

3. They say do this particular job, you say how can a whole graduate like me be doing that 'kian' job
Ans: What is this kin job you referred to... i hope it's not no 2 above, like office cleaners, gutter sweepers or 6k primary class teacher...

4. They say volunteer, you say who volunteer epp.
Ans: Most graduate will volunteer to a job with prospect, a job with experience, a job that contribute to his or her growth... Most graduate will not volunteer to slavery once the hear past experience of previous volunteers...

5. They say invest, you say investment nah scam.
Ans: INVEST, I am tempted to ask with what... An unemployed graduate is looking for some one to invest in him not the other way round...

6. They say travel, you say this one wey accident and kidnapping dey happen up and down, daily.
Ans: A graduate will travel where there is a good prospect of landing a job, most graduate now make research before entering any road for any kind of interview... an unemployed graduate borrows 50k. Travels from Imo state to lagos for interview... Go n Come, 50k. Is gone... no response you think if that kind of offer comes again, he would go...

7. They say attend a conference, you say wetin dem wan teach you wey you neva hear before.
Ans: I advice unemployed graduates to attend conferences holding around their jurisdiction and those extremely important holding outside their jurisdiction... don't waste scarce resources on meaningless conferences...

8.They say Nigeria will be better, you say this country wey don "dabaru finish" with corruption.
Ans: All this dem say dem say... unemployed graduate should do what they need to do to make it and survive and forget dem say dem say...

9. They say Paul just bought a new property, you say forget that thing, you know how he started.
Ans: Yes, we know Paul that earns 40k monthly yet bought 2 cars... and built a house... kindly come and explain it to us...
We all know Sarah that earns 30k a month but uses I Phone 22 pro max, she moved into a 2 bedroom flat of 1.5m a year, and she is already building her own house... kindly come and explain...

10. They say Amaka just got married, you say "tah" forget that thing, is marriage an achievement?
Ans: Amaka will not marry an unemployed graduate and Paul who is unemployed will not marry unemployed amaka too... and if dem try am, dem no de tell pesin...

(Shebi you see how negativity has finished you?)

This is not negativity, thus is reality and in reality, difficult choices must be made... Advising people to look at Paul that just built house without telling us how he made his money or teaching us how to make such money is wrong...
Most I say most people do a lot of despicable things to survive this days... Most people earn their money through cutting corners...

(As soon as a good thing wants to come to your life, you wave your flag of negativity and it flees.)

If positive things wants to come let it come inform of good job, good business opportunities, good investment opportunities, good connections and network...

Not through Paul that earns 40k and is building 3 estate...
Or Sarah earning 30k using I Phone 22...

My take...

As a graduate, don't be lazy, do what you need to do.. and pray simple...
A blunt rejoinder
This is reality 😁

Can you post any human capital development program by her for the people in her community and state?
If she did what you post above, then why the revolt and grievances against the throne?

MirrorofChrist:
The pastor is rightly wrong, he should have studied the scripture very well before finalising, this also applicable to all Christians, most especially those that always depend on what there pastors has to say, but not on what God says.

In the beginning God created heaven (not even heavens in that verse 1 he quoted). You can't just read a verse in the Bible without checking both the preceded and the succeeded verses or makes more findings before drawing your verdict, that's wrong!

The former heaven according to what Genesis says, implies: the atmosphere, gallaries, planets and any other related. Don't forget there's firmament which can be called the "sky" Gen.2.1 - Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
that shows that we have many heavens, but there's a heaven where God lives, and that heaven is where Jesus was referring to. Now let's see what the Bible says

Ps.103.19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. (ALL)

The Bible does not set out for Christians a list of rules on dress, grooming, and hygiene. Jehovah has no desire to deny us our freedom of choice or the use of our thinking faculties. Rather, he wants us to become mature people who reason on Bible principles and who “through use have their powers of discernment trained to distinguish both right and wrong.” (Hebrews 5:14) Above all, he wants us to be governed by love—love for God and neighbor. (Read Mark 12:30, 31.) Within those boundaries, there is the potential for great variety in dress and grooming.

Ebonygeek:
Why Am I Here?

Throughout my teenage years I pondered that question. What is the purpose of anything?

We are born, we go to school, get jobs, work hard, take care of ourselves and others, then die after a while.

At one point, I felt like I was losing my mind. I would work, spend money on consumables, become broke, work again, and repeat the whole process. Is that what life is all about? Working and consuming? Surely there has to be more to it.

Unfortunately, like many young adults new at the university, I had a brief stint with alcohol and weed. My friends and I would get high and have 'intellectual discussions' at night under the stars, or we would listen to American Pop music. We were young, dumb and free after all.

Then I dropped out of school. I couldn't focus on bookwork and 'school na scam sef', so who gives a damn? Mark Zukerberg and Bill Gates dropped out of school anyway, yet they are billionaires today.

Foolish girl.

I moved to a new state and tried to rebuild my life. I entered a new school, and even went to church once. But I still smoked and drank.

And that one time, I had gone to church to socialize with new people, but I lost interest when the pastor asked for donations for an upcoming program; why do all these men of God always ask for money sef?

Plus how can someone be so focused and passionate about Heaven and an afterlife, when there are big problems to worry about in this life anyway? Problems like making enough money, eating a balanced diet, and exercising?

You won't believe how obsessed I was with eating enough nutrients and drinking enough water to have beautiful skin; boiling carrots to make the beta-carotene more effective in making my skin evenly toned, eating oranges for the antioxidants therein to slow down my aging process, and consuming more proteins than carbohydrates. Not to mention doing squats and lunges to make my bum look sexier.

Gosh! So many important things to think about, and yet here's a 23-year-old student evangelist telling me that Jesus loves me and I should come to his church. I don't get it. Do you have a crush on me? Is this your own method of picking up chicks?

Foolish girl!

Don't you know you're just fattening yourself up for the worms? Don't you know that you've lived in sin for too long and God, in his infinite mercy, has once again sent another one of his disciples to tell you the Truth?

But no! Once again, you try to be logical. You try to rationalize everything. The sick man you heard about wasn't really healed; it was just the placebo effect that took place. The poor woman who received financial assistance after praying just got lucky. Why won't someone give her money when she acts like someone who is always suffering?!

You're so stubborn and have a stony heart.
Matthew 13:15 KJV
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

You're so blind to the truth.
Isaiah 44:18 KJV
They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

You're standing in your own grave, but you don't even realize it.
Psalm 107:18 KJV
Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

You're battling with addiction, masturbation, sex, frustration, eating disorders, body dysmorphia, suicidal ideation, and yet you won't ask Him for help!!

He keeps sending his disciples to you, but you're either too blind to notice or too foolish to admit that he's the only reason you haven't died yet. You think you will somehow develop discipline on your own and figure out a way to succeed.
Isaiah 59:1 KJV
Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

He says :"come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light ( Matthew 11:28-30 KJV).

He's just waiting and wondering why you would rather die and suffer in your next life, instead of enjoying paradise with Him. Or do you really think death is the end? That you have no soul? That your consciousness will cease to exist when your body stops working?

Your consciousness is energy, and according to the first law of thermodynamics, energy cannot be created nor destroyed. It only changes form.
John 1:3 KJV
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

He is the Source and you are a representation of Him for goodness sake! How dare you ruin the flesh suit that he has lent you? The vessel that he created to house his Holy Spirit?

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 KJV
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Your soul/consciousness/energy will go somewhere when your body stops working. What do you think will happen when He sees the stains you're gathering presently?
Matthew 7:23 KJV
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

You need Jesus my dear, otherwise you won't amount to anything in this life, and you'll be damned in the next.
Proverbs 28:13 KJV
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

My dear, He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:29-31 KJV). All you have to do is call upon him and He will answer you.

But wait. Why are we here though?
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 KJV
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Career › Re: The Reality Of Life: My True Story by sageb: 7:17pm On Sep 15, 2023
Kreativeminds:
Hello Nairalanders, have you ever been in a situation so frustrated that you don’t know what life has in stock for you? Or you have a whole bundle of talent but now way to showcase it due to low self-esteem? And then you come online on social media platforms and see people who don’t know as much as you do or can’t do as much as you can but are making waves already and you are just wondering what exactly it is you are not doing right? Well, my name is Ibrahim and this is my story……
I am a young guy in my mid-twenties and I can say God has really blessed me with a whole lot of skills and abilities but unfortunately, seems these skills just tend to die down in my head due to procrastination, easily getting discouraged, high hopes, false reality and so much more. All I know is I see people doing this and that and I say to myself “I can do this too, even better” but at the end of the day, I find myself not doing anything. Having these lots of great and plausible ideas but unfortunately it just dies down in my head.
I see myself as a very hardworking, dedicated and focused person honing up skills and certifications here and there without actually putting them into use and I always feel so devastated and dejected. I started out right from the secondary school where I noticed I had a knack for talking (I mean very good oral abilities). I used to be an ardent listener of the radio and admired all the On-Air Presenters take on the mics and enthrall people with mind blowing talks and gist and I got so enthusiastic about it. This made me actually study Mass Communication in the University, at least to be in a field that would make me realize my goals. You know earlier I talked about high hopes, right? Well, I had so much hope thinking the university was actually going to at least put me closer to my dreams or maybe I just didn’t try enough. I remember when we were asked to look for IT placements in 200 and 300 level respectively, I wrote many times to media outfits that I usually listened to at the time hoping to at least get to experience real time broadcasting but unfortunately to my dismay, all efforts proved quite abortive as none actually accepted me or even responded to my applications. It was at this time reality began to dawn on me. You know growing up, my mum used to tell me about my uncles, older cousins who were not really well to do trying to use them as example to teach me lessons but then I was like, they probably didn’t try enough or maybe even make extra efforts. But now, I am beginning to think what if they actually tried? What if they also had high hopes just like me but life just decided not to favor them?
I finished from the university without actually getting much hand on experience with broadcasting as much as I would have loved. All I knew is that I loved to talk and I was pretty good at it. I finished from the university and instead of going for service like my mates did, I went to actually pursue another dream which I loved. Yeah, you guessed right, Language. I went to enroll at the Nigerian French Language Village, Badagry to further my learning of French since I already had the passion for it right from my secondary school. I even wrote French in WAEC, lol. Going to NFLV was another high hope dream for me. I didn’t just want to be a regular communication graduate like everybody, I wanted to be one of the few bilingual communicator graduates. In my mind I was like “if I learn to speak French and write the popular French professional exam, it would most definitely give me an edge amongst others”. NFLV wasn’t so easy but at least I am glad I was able to reach the Intermediate level in speaking. I also wrote the DELF B1 exam from France and passed. But then I have still not attained those potentials I want to.
At least I imagined things would be really smooth once I tailor my CV well and begin applying for jobs related to my discipline. You know that situation where you see people doing things that you can do even better or get jobs that you could perform much better but you don’t even get the chance of being invited for an interview not to talk of showcasing what you actually have. It just really reminds me of the popular saying that life is not a bed of roses. Some people make waves smoothly while some cant even actually smell it.
Oh, I forgot to say that I also started learning graphics design after secondary school even though I wasn’t always consistent with it. Going back and forth because of laptop issues, sometimes I just needed quick money and didn’t just want to go through the process of burning the midnight candles to achieve my graphics goal. Today I see some of the people I even gave the idea to go into graphics or people who even started learning years after me have gone so far and even become a pro better than me. Well, I would really say I am the cause for that though and I do have myself to blame.
Regardless, it is not over until it is over. The main purpose of this write up is because there are a lot of youngsters out there like me who have all these skills but probably don’t know how to start or go about it. Or some who feel much better working as a team rather alone but wants to be part of something great. Well, I want to offer something I would like to call a safe haven which would be a win-win situation for all. If you feel you want to be a study mate with me, you want to learn graphics with me, you want to learn French with me or you want to start a podcast with me, kindly signify your interest. It’s all totally free. I just don’t want to do things alone but with people because I get easily discouraged when things don’t really go as planned so I want a team where we can always motivate one another and we achieve great things moving forward. This is what I am offering for FREE: A CONDUCIIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR US TO LEARN AND SHARE OUR IDEAS, PHOTOSHOP& ILLUSTRATOR LESSON FOR US BECAUSE I AM STILL LEARNING MYSELF. WE THEN GO FURTHER TO LEARN PREMIERE PRO, AFTER EFFECTS, AUDITION, CINEMA 4D, BLENDER, WE WOULD ALSO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT TO SPEAK IN FRENCH TOO FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO LEARN A SECOND LANGUAGE AND MANY MORE. PLEASE IT IS TOTALLY FREE AND YOU MUST BE IN LAGOS, I JUST NEED LIKE MINDS AND STUDY PARTNERS.
