I cut my hair for the first time in 9 years last year and it felt good, breezy and all. I had to get used to "the new me", I kept it at brush cut for a couple of months then grew it but didn't use any chemicals. I fell "victim" again to chemicals when it grew longer because my hair is unmanageable at its natural state. . . . . . . . . anyway, for the winter, I had braids on but on Saturday, my hairdresser messed me around and I decided right there and then I was cutting it again, been really short for a week now and I love it, fresh for the summer.

Are there softners I could use if I decided to keep it natural for a long while?

Does our hair define who we are as women?  I have always had long glossy hair, the envy of many women as they think it is a weave, I have never put in a weave by the way, anyway, I cut my hair and people were really surprised, wanting to know "WHY".  Surely change is good for us all, a fresh start.  I am rocking a brush cut right now and shower time is the best time for me, no need to worry about a shower cap or the right shampoo!

Please share your views, would you ever cut your hair, if not why?  Are you more comfortable in weaves and hair extensions than your own hair, short or long?

I find this interesting Omolola, are women supposed to love housework based on the fact that they are WOMEN?  Maybe most even do it because "it is their duty" but otherwise wouldn't bother with it at all!

Shoooo, so your man only eats Naija food and nothing else?  That makes it rather difficult for you then.  Another option would be to cook the same Nigerian food, like stews and soups, freeze them and take out of the freezer to thow nicely so you just warm up when you come back from work. . . . . .  .would that not work with your man too?  A naija friend of mine once called me while I was feeding my son, asked what he was eating and it was pasta with mince and he asked "what is wrong with South African food"? so I get you about your man wanting only Naija food.

Nonsense Cork, you would not succeed in bleaching me, if you want a white woman, why not go for one from the word go, why bother with black women if you want to change their skin colour?

Would the family not have a light meal like salads, bread and cold meats just to take the pressure off you, say twice a week?  I can't imagine waking up early just to cook for the evening. . . . . .HECK, sometimes I get home and don't feel like cooking so salads, sandwiches/cheese with crackers will be on the menu!

That comment about OP not qualified to be a wife is funny, what is the criteria for being a good wife?  Is there a manual?

@ OP, what I do is cook enough food (different dishes) to last a couple of days, I do this on Sundays, I do thorough house-cleaning on Saturdays and laundry and cooking for the next couple of days on Sunday.  In the evenings, I give my son food, wash him then do whatever else I have to do, I may clean the floor twice a week BUT most importantly, I have a system that works for me.


Establish your own routine and make it work for you.  Do you have to be at the office until late, can't you take the work home and finish it there while doing other things?  Would your man be open to eating food from the fridge as opposed to fresh from the pot?  I ask because some men swear they would never eat "yesterday's" food

Just as well you are not my man my man likes it, he does it so well I know he enjoys it, believe it!

Very serious, especially when the man wants his wife to do all this after a hard day's work, and doesn't want someone to help out. . . . . .I also hate housework but I have to do it, at my own pace though, I absolutely love cooking, finger-licking stuff!

OP, does your man want you to stay at home and do chores and he will take care of the family alone?

Yeah, I want a freak but I will not swallow come, never read anywhere that it makes the b00bs bigger, besides, I am happy with my cup size! I am happy if my man wants to swallow my juices, it is a choice and if that excites him, hell, he must go ahead and make himself happy!
