Second battery explosion results from over charge as you have alluded to, two battery of different capacities causes imbalance in the charging hence, one cells voltage will reach it maximum charge voltage before the other which can lead to explosion. Also the cell with lower capacity can get to it's minimum voltage when drained before the other hence can lead to premature death of that cell.

The batteries am seeing has two different capacities rating of 2600mah 2000mah if both cells are of the same health condition will not Ballance hence can lead to explosion or fire hazards.

Bros you go wear glasses oh, all the cells I see are same specd, the difference being that he wrapped some cells in insulation tape thus the colour differentials.

On the issue of cell explosion, I believe u're over reacting, there are 2 variables that might lead to that, one being abuse or puncture to the cells themselves thereby causing a short, the second and also relevant to your observation being overcharge. On the first, most builds I've seen are isolated and non mobile, so hardware rupture is eliminated, on the second; a controlled charging source solves that problem especially since amp draw from the cells are at a very low C-rate........

The question should be what protocol does your device accept/works with; even when you have a 100w charger and your phone charging protocol limits you to 18w, there's practically nothing you can do to go past the limits of your device.

So first step to getting the optimal charging protocol for your device would be to know what the limitations are and work with that; you can't use the foundation of a bungalow for a 5 storey building. Cheers

While I agree with some of your concerns which are well placed to be honest, I believe WhatsApp is not the right platform, an open access telegram group could suffice.

With telegram no matter when one comes in, you have access to the very first entries as messages are cloud based and even when one loses his or her device, you simply log in and you have all ur history intact, furthermore if it's open access, one doesn't need to be in the group to access the resources available.

Second option could be setting up a new Google account and uploading documents and resources to the drive and the link is shared here while the discussion still continues as usual.

Just my 2 Kobo, better options can be shared and discussed. Cheers

a clumsy way of doing things @TBB setting charge voltage at only their head office. so if am in lafia and my circumstances change...and I wish to adjust the charge voltage...i would start sending the unit back to tbb head office?

TBB inverters have dip switches for models without display and buttons that serves for almost 90% of use case scenarios, the office settings thingy is for special cases and not for everyone.

Accessories are also available to enable you change settings whenever you want to but it comes at an extra price.

Options are abound for you if need be....

You tried though going back to Miui, it's not easy for some folks to switch and stay with custom roms.

Personally, I've been on custom roms (over 3 years now) since I got my Redmi Note 5 Pro.

I've never for once liked Miui and with the help of custom roms, Android 13 is now available for my device.

For a device that no longer has update support from the manufacturer then for me custom rom is the way to as you can always get support and Incremental updates including security that one would not get originally, this being the main reason I leave my bootloader unlocked.

Quite true, native ROMs are optimised for each model and works best for it, reason I don't do custom roms but I can switch between ROMs of different regions based on what I need.

Truth be told, MIUI isn't as bad as people say it is, works just fine for me.

I restarted the system and the controller stepped it down to 26.5 to 27.5 v the amps can go as high as 50amps.
Is it normal for 24v 1200w parallel to go as high as 41v+?

Ur yield seems to be doing okay, I would advise you pay more attention to ur settings, also check the recommended settings on you Felicity battery too, Ur BMS might be turning off charging based on it's settings.
Just check the simple things first before buying anything for now..... Cheers

I don't know how to set the charge controller.

It's all connected in parallel, 24v 200w x 6 in parallel

First your charge controller is PWM not MPPT, secondly, confirm the settings on your CC, thirdly,confirm the orientation of ur panels.
Then lastly, if possible ask your installer to change the configuration of your panels to 2s3p as I believe this is more optimal.

NB: These are simply my thoughts....... Others will add and correct... Cheers

The ways I judge the possible output is quite rough. One is through the BMS of my Lithium battery/batteries attached to the Cc. That do not cater for losses from using small gauge wires from Cc to battery BUT gives me the actual amp that gets stored in my battery. The second method is back deduction from my inverter (Gennex) that has the capability to log stats on imput and outputs. For example if the inbuilt Cc says I generated 5kwh and the output energy was 8.5kwh, I could therefore duduce that the rest came from the PowMr

A short review: A low budget value for money. Need an MPPT CC with the most basic Interface but keeps working? Then get this!! PowMrI have 3 of them in use. Works well , relatively cheap and can work for 12,24,36 or 48v systems. Works with Lithium batteries and
lead acids variants. Excellent as a back up CC too in case you need one to fall back on. Planning on getting another one soon.
Cons? Plenty !
1) No log Interface to record daily harvests , so difficult to know exactly how much you are harvesting daily. I have to rely on other ways to get this.
2) Connect points are a bit small and take max of 6mm cables
3) the supplied screws to attach the CC to the wall sometimes are too small
4) Price is getting high nowadays

Can you share what u use for logging data for daily harvest, it would be appreciated.

Secondly, for your connection point you could use wire connectors as shown in the picture below, that way Ur connection is neat and tight though crimping with ferrule connectors is more ideal..... Cheers

Rough math - with a Peukert coefficient assumption of 1.3 - a 100Ah battery at C20 has capacity reduced to 40-41Ah at C1

You should research our dear Wilhelm *Peukert* and how battery capacity derates at high C rates - pertinent to note that the balance of Ah capacity in my rough math above was not lost, if you give the battery time to recover and the internal chemical processes to balance out, you can draw more energy from the system esp if you reduce the rate of discharge to normal limits

Again the point I made to @Saint2Ace that sparked all this frenzy is that no one uses their battery in a residential setting so as to discharge it within 1 hour and we should therefore be wary of using such an extreme scenario as an example so that non technical people are not misled.

There is no argument that Lithium chemistries are generally superior to lead acid, yet there should be no argument that there are valid and sensible use cases for lead acid as well.

@NiyiOmoIyunade, I initially didn't want to respond to your earlier quote cos I saw the "merit" of the caveat you stated but ur phrasing at the end seemed to signify something else and even at that I was willing to still let it slide till I saw the bolded and Ur efforts not to be misunderstood and I laughed cos u did exactly the same thing.

The main reason I made that statement was to caution the moniker I quoted from the subtle insult he wrote ( which he still buttressed quoting Ur write up and repeating the same words).

You actually ignored the point I was trying to make and only concentrated on "the actual physics" while leaving out the main message of the write-up.

While I appreciate your indepth knowledge on the subject matter, I would advise that sometimes you take a few steps back and understand individual scenerio before making some inputs.

I have personally done a 120a draw on a 12v 100ah with a 200a BMS slapped on it.

Seen. Appreciate the response but the 12v inverters you mentioned above don't have inbuilt Charge controllers, they are stand alone inverters.

Why not do a simple product search based on ur criteria on most Nigerian e-commerce sites ( Jumia, konga, Jiji etc ) and streamline what you desire, instead of waiting on people to provide solutions for you.

From this breakdown we can clearly see that your system will never achieve optimal yield, it won't even come close, as the majority of energy produced (almost 75% of estimated yield is lost due to limitations and general inefficiency); as your 30a own cc can only max out at 370w @12v, your new 100a CC might only be able to max out at 1200w (with optimal conditions).
I am deducing that Ur system is 12v since you mentioned 3pcs 100ah battery accumulating to 300ah, which means it's a 12v 300ah setup.

So before u go further, I would advise the following:-
Scale up Ur system to 24v
Get an mppt charge controller/s
Alternatively, u can get a high VOC hybrid inverter
Get a 24v lithium battery bank as getting a "good" lead acid replacement will be almost in the same price bracket.

Experts can make corrections and add as might be necessary, as I am not an expert just giving my honest opinion. Cheers.......

What type of charge controller and inverter do you use? And how are your panels connected to your CC?
Reason being that if your system is not setup for optimal yield, a larger battery bank might not still save the situation in the long run....

I have a gen that outputs 187v, I changed the AVR and it's still outputting 187v and under load will reduce to 185v.

Will adjusting the AVR solve my problem or there's a bigger issue?

It beats my imagination why people will spend 150k, 200k , 300k on a phone and yet they won't buy screen protector of highest 2k for the phone to protect the screen . Some will even say their phone uses corning gorilla glass, the fact that it uses gorilla glass doesn't make it shatter proof.

To fix screens now especially AMOLED screens like those found in samsung phones are very expensive, most likely they won't be original like the follow come screen. Save yourself time, money and tears and get that screen protector today
