He responded that reciept was only issued at the office but that I should bring ₦400 to make up for the receipt, I asked for his name and told him to take the package back to the office as I would come to the office myself for clarification and pickup.

I left him standing there and walked away.

What nonsense, I know times are hard but this is crazy, the size of the item is usually what I pay ₦200 for and someone is billing ₦500, that's unacceptable and I will not encourage it. I fit dash am money on my own but giving me an unrealistic bill is stealing, plain and simple.

Update on the post above, finally went to the post office this morning as I couldn't make it over the weekend.

Talked to the manager in charge of the conduct of their postman and it was a case of "no vex, he won't try such again, I will personally caution him", I just smiled picked up my package, paid the normal ₦200 and walked away. Mission accomplished, it might not be much but it will save someone from being extorted.
Like I said earlier, I usually tip the main guy that brings my package but that is of my freewill, but I will not accept being "billed" by someone to do their jobs, whether na Naija we dey or not.....

The e-sim slip is issued at the carrier's walk-in centre, u have to go through the normal SIM swap protocol, after which the e-sim is scanned to ur device and a back end activation is done to get the SIM working okay.

Some of the main advantages of the e-sim is stable network and protection against events where some dubious people might have unauthorised access to ur SIM card.

She always change the weight on the package, hence, demand higher handling fee + tips. He warned her that day and I've told her to get me her name. I'll report her to PMG, Lagos SPM and my state's SPM.

Is is possible to get a solar and inverter only system without battery?

The function of this is to use only solar during the day and switch on nepa/grid at night without having any backup battery in place.

It's important to note that the PV should be the only one working during the day with drawing power from nepa,
And it should be automated in a way that if sun goes down or more power is required it can tap small from grid

Why I'm saying this, is so we don't need to start disconnecting nepa during the day,

poorly packed, stored, designed batteries are at risk of thermal runway - spontaneous and very high temperature combustion
when you see a swollen battery pack, thats what is happening, an it should be disposed of immediately

we have fake/low quality alkaline batteries, NI CD, VRLA, Deep cycle - etal - but the low quality translates to shorter runtime and charge capacity
low quality Lithium batteries translate to MASSIVE FIRE HAZARD

all those videos of people with phones or battery packs on fire - thats whats happening - poor quality lithium batteries

amazon allows people to sell all sorts of dodgy stuff - but they draw the line at products with non UL lithium ion batteries
airlines do not allow any non segway hoverboards for the same reason.

so when i see batteries that are already unsafe - then packaged in a combustible box

Lithium chemistries vary and there's a large gap in safety between lithium ion batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries, Lifepo4 being one of the safest, second only to lithium titanate oxide batteries, they do not combust but will smoke when forcefully punctured, due to the short circuit that occurs, these are normally electrical scenes that play out anywhere given the same parameters.

All the scenerios u stated are for lithium ion batteries as they are used in boards and bikes cos of their enormous power density in a light weight making them a preferred choice, but lifepo4 are so much safer and do not follow the same protocols, Google the difference and u'll see for urself.

Lastly, u talked about UL certification. Can you state a low budget gadget including inverters currently in the Nigerian market that is UL certified, to have these items UL listed not even certified will cost a ton of money and is added into the final pricing, the same reason the Victrons of this world are super expensive.

The point still remains that once the battery has a suitable enclosure and a good BMS slapped on, then u're good to go.

I do appreciate you raising ur concerns, so people are aware but the chemistries greatly differ.

Might actually suffer from excess heat due to improper ventilation. I think they should have considered and analyzed that in their design though.

Except u're pulling high C-rates charge and discharge cycles, the lifepo4 lithium chemistry which he used in that build is quite tolerant and as he stated there are vent holes for air circulation.

I'm guessing the wiring is for test purposes only, yes crude but well insulated, those are 10mm² PV cable.

As per the wooden box, that is HDF wood, which is super safe for building batteries as it doesn't combust easily and is quite resistant to water.

Lastly, be mindful that u cannot do anything about the way the package moves, tracking details or not.

Someone posted an ad here not too long ago, after negotiations and all, I decided to send someone to help me pick it up and take off from work so as to receive the item as I wasn’t feeling too well, lo and behold few hours to getting it the seller said he is no longer selling , I was like how can you do this and before then I asked him if he’s really ready to sell as I had other plans with the money at hand, felt bad for time and effort wasted.

Lolz pele, almost same thing happened to me 3days back. Chatted with a seller for an inverter and battery, we agreed on price and I was supposed to pick up at kilmanjaro, ago palace way by 10am, only for the guy to send me a message by past 9am that the item has been sold lolz; I jejeli said okay and turned back.
Same day I saw the inverter posted on nairaland by one of our frequent sellers here...
It was annoying but hey, it's his property till one pays for it and they can do as they please, so says an average Nigerian business man, forgetting that "our words should be our bond", we just lack principles and scruple.......

Depends on the zip code you supplied on aliexpress. There's a zipcode meant for some local governments/towns within Abeokuta metropolis. So search the location your zipcode covers. Once u identify it, you can definitely know the office where your parcel is. You can as well check into Totoro Post Office to ask anyway

Zip code is not a thing in Nigeria, Nipost only makes use of your address and packages are sent to the nearest post office to you for pickup, but as usual due to the "Naija" factor, there might be plus and minuses to this process....
