Politics / Re: Supreme Court rules that Atiku (and others) cannot be disqualified by INEC by saintchux(m): 2:54pm On Apr 16, 2007
Whether Atiku will win or not the issue. RULE OF LAW that is all we have been shouting on this Atiku case. Imagine the 2day public holiday declared last week just to make sure supreme court did not declare that INEC has no power to disqualify. OBJ has been using arm twisting to get what he wants.

Now that Supreme court has ruled. What will happen to election in Anambra state where Chris Ngige was disqualified despite court order. Please those that are nearer to OBJ should advice him to obey court other so that we won't be wasting resources.

I don't care who wins the presidential election. My happiness despite all the rigging is that OBJ is leaving by may 29. Let have a new set of people, no matter who. OBJ has recked this country. 8 wasted years. He has every opportunity to make this country great but he used it to pursue vendetta.

I did not vote and it's simply because it so obvious we are in a country where the vote of the people does not really count.u vote,u no vote, who go win go win.Apart from this,am in an area where violence is the order of the day.

make your vote count. It is those that did not vote that their will be used to rig. If all that registered voted, it will not be rigged.

How do u think koro will win, who is koro? how can someone like koro rule Lagos state. Lagos is not Ekiti state that is what some of you do not know. We don't need Ayo Fayose in Lagos.

Lagos is commercial capital of Nigeria.
Lagos host the head office of the whole financial institution in Nigeria.
Lagos is where those that matter in the economy lives.
Lagos host the most educated people in Nigeria
Lagos host the progressives.

If you like take it, if you don't, Atlantic ocean is nearby, you can go there and jump in. our population is too much.
Culture / Re: I'm About To Marry An 'Outcast' (Osu) Guy by saintchux(m): 10:17am On Apr 16, 2007
This is a very serious issue. Osu is a very big stigma. The stigma of osu in some places is more than that of HIV. For those that don't know Osu are those who were kidnapped, bought, or enslaves to serve deity (gods). In those days, during war, when a community conquer the other community they take some people to come and serve them.

It is too unfortunate, but there is nothing w can do. There is a case were an osu man married a woman, after about twenty years they divorced. The woman still carry the stigma of osu. Even though she is not osu. None of the children is being married and these girls can win miss world, but nobody is interest in marrying them.

Personally I will not marry an osu. I won't even think of it. It will affect my children. they will find it difficult to get married. I have many friend that are osu and I know they are finding it very very difficult to marry. I pity them but I can not help.

This is Nigeria problem. The earlier we understand it as a general problem, the better.

All of us have a role to play, but the government should play a bigger role.

If Nigeria government can Nigerians proud by developing and providing infrastructure, Nigerian will not engage in some of this vice. Our government does not ask those that are living big, how they made their money. Someone will carry millions of naira cash and nothing happens. Government has a bigger role to play. Once they do their part every other thing will fall in place.

How can I report a scammer when I know that once he bails himself with 5000, that will end of the story and he will come and attack me. If the government will do their part Nigeria will be better.

I don't blame them for whatever they say or talk about Nigeria. While we are waiting for the election result, some people are now hooked to BBC and CNN to hear the result.

Is Nigeria government that should be blamed. They should devote more time to develop Nigeria.

Politics / Re: Nigeria's Image Was Badly Damaged On Oprah Today! by saintchux(m): 10:27pm On Apr 14, 2007
During a three-month 20/20 investigation, Brian uncovered thousands of cons on the Internet, which he says is home to the greatest collection of scam artists ever. These computer-savvy criminals are logging on in Internet cafes around the world. For one story, Brian set his sights on e-mail scams originating in Nigeria, a West African nation that has been plagued by government corruption for decades

Nigerian con artists aren't just targeting e-mail accounts. Brian says these scams are also infiltrating a post office near you. Postal inspectors have intercepted at least [b]6 million [/b]scam letters and counterfeit checks sent to the United States from Nigeria, all addressed to specific individuals.

Brian says very intelligent and well-educated people have fallen for these scams. Some are motivated by greed, while others are truly trying to help those in need. "A lot of the victims have been Christian ministers," Brian says. "They're told, 'There's $30 million [in Nigeria] we want to give to help small churches across the country. Just give us some money to [help transport] it out of Nigeria.'"

Now, there's a new con out there that targets people just like Patricia, Brian says. Con men are sending out letters that appear to be from an official government bureau in Nigeria that's been set up to compensate scam victims and make amends for past scams. "[They say], 'Just send us $4,000, and we'll send you a million dollars because we want to make our victims whole again,'" he says. "They know these people are gullible, and again and again the people will send off the $4,000 to get the million."

I believe that those that are attacking Igbos did not read the Oprah show. Because I have read it and there is no where Igbos were mentioned. What was mentioned is Nigeria. Moreover 6 million letters cannot originate from igbo land. While I am not defending those that are doing yahoo yahoo, I believe that those that are pointing there hands to igbo are afraid of igbos. I am proudly Igbo.

Even if some igbo guys are doing yahoo yahoo, does that make the whole Igbo race yahoo yahoo tribe. That Jousha Dariye and Diepreye Alamieyeseigha jumped bail in UK does it make Nigeria governors culprit of jumping bail.

In OBJ government those that are perfroming, Igbos are more. where are the yorubas.

check what they are doing in their various ministries and compare it with their counterpart from other ethnic group.

for your information, it is only Igbo man that will develop this country, we are very intelligent and creative. despite the federal government adamant nature in developing Igbo land, go there are see what we are doing.

Brian says one of the reasons Nigeria is a source of so many scams is because a large number of citizens are living below the poverty level. "This is a desperately poor country with wonderful people who are very intelligent, a good school system [but] no jobs," Brian says. "It's [also] a corrupt country where the leaders have been corrupt for years. They've doomed their people to a life of poverty, and the lesson has been taught that you can get away with crimes and nothing happens."

The reason for scamming is because of our leaders are corrupt. Jousha Dariye is not an Igbo. Diepreye Alamieyeseigha is not an Igbo man, OBJ, Atiku are not Igbos, Tafa Balogun is not an Igbo man. IBB not Igbo man. Name 20 corrupts Nigeria leaders one may be Igbo man, if at all.

Christina, a struggling mother of four, couldn't believe her luck when she got a letter in the mail saying she won a lottery in Australia. "I have four children and I was living with my mother, and I was like, 'Wow. I can put a down payment on a house. I can pay a lot of my bills," Christina says. Following the instructions given to her by the people who sent her the letter, Christina wired the money she received from the checks to New York. She thought she was paying taxes on her lottery winnings. Then, Christina got a third check in the mail. "They said they did not send enough for the federal fees the first time, and once I sent that, I would have my money," Christina says.

Is this one Nigeria too. Or may be an Igbo man in New York.

Julia, a legal secretary, was tired of the New York dating scene, so she decided to look for love online. She soon met a man who said his name was Scott. He told her he was a young widower from California who was volunteering at an orphanage in Nigeria. "I was very touched. That said to me that this is someone who has a lot of love in his heart," Julia says.

Julia says she and Scott made an immediate connection. After a month of daily e-mails and instant messaging, Julia says they began to fall in love. When Julia discovered she had skin cancer and had to have surgery, Scott was supportive and loving, even from 5,000 miles away. Julia was thrilled when Scott proposed a few weeks later. "He said, okay, so shop for your dress. Money is no object. As soon as I get there, we're going to be married," Julia says. "I felt like Cinderella."

After sending him money to help support his orphanage, Scott asked Julia to put on a white dress and meet him at the airport. She waited for six hours, and her Prince Charming never showed up. "My heart was broken. I was devastated," she says.

Is this person a Nigerian too or may be an Igbo man pretending.

I am proudly Igbo.

So Tinubu giving out car and buses is enough information to call him a failure.

Why are u hacking at people's folder. You should have a system where u keep your documents, so why keep on searching everywhere 4 the system.

When you see a movie file you should know, so why do you open it. Why do you open the downloaded files? Is the files your looking for a downloaded file. May be you enjoy watching but you are not a peace with yourself on it.

I work in IT department and I see a lot of that on people's computer. I ignore it and do my work. My boss laptop is full of porn and I ignore whenever am working on his laptop. I entered one of my colleague office one day and saw him watching porn. I behaved as if I did not see it and left after doing what I want to do.

initiate:

is it true that the holiday is declared so that supreme court cannot rule on atiku?

You may not be far from the truth

1. We don't need public holiday for the election.
2. INEC said they are ready, they too don't need more time.
3. We just came back from easter break, so why another one.
4. Even if we need public holiday, a day is enough, why 2days

If there is public holiday, government office won't work, Implications:
All pending decision concerning the election will be stopped until the next working day, which means election will be over by then. OBJ is evil man and he will do everything possible to stop any candidate he does not like his face.
I believe is the public holiday is political. Banks and financial Institution are exempted, why, are they not Nigerians? Why not exempt courts also, since they know there are pending cases. that is time barred.

@Afam
That is why we will never develop.

I weep for Nigeria. That why OBJ is doing everything possible to stop opposition. He has declared 2 days. For what. We don't need it. What will I be doing in my house for 2 days because of election. HE JUST DECLARED IT TO FRUSTRATE ANY JUDICIAL PRONOUNCEMENT THAT WILL FORCE INEC TO ALLOW SOME CANDIDATE TO CONTEST THE ELECTION.
Why public holiday for goodness sake. Has it been done before.
