McKren:are u really in UK? You support illegality in state and condemn it in the federal. Can this happen in UK where u clain you are staying? |
stranger12:our problem is our mind set. Our thinking is our problem. we prefer foreign goods more than ours for no just cause, not of better quality, but b/c is foreign. we prefer to associate with foreigner than fellow country man Ask a primary school pupil to name 10 european teams, he will give u 20, but tell him to name 5 nigeria team, he will not name up to 2. How can we expect the white to treat us better when we have already taken a second seat. Stand up and be counted! |
big spif:wetin dey ur yansh that the boy wan open ![]() |
McKren:so PDP is now government. two factions of PDP = 2 governments so what is happening in Lagos state do we have 2 governors. BT is in AC while Femi is Labour party. In Jigawa where the gvernor decamped to PDP and the deputy stayed put with ANPP did it produce two governors. What kind of anarchy are u talking about? |
Afam:I agree with you that it is not the duty of PDP to tell people that join them to resign. But a moral duty which they use to attack Atiku. AD has asked INEC to declare seat of those that decamped to AC and PDP vacant. What is INEC waiting for? But they declared that of plateau that decamped from PDP to ACD. Why? Let us look at the following thing that has happened. AD had factions. INEC recongninsed a faction. Which means the other faction is ilegal. Police did not deem is worthwhile to close the illegal faction secretariat. They allow them to have parallel conventions and meetings. ANPP had faction. The same INEC recongnised one faction, which made the other faction illegal. Police did not bother to close down that faction secretariat. They had parallel convention and meetings. Then some members of PDP formed a faction. INEC recongnised one. Then police sealed the office of the other faction immediately. Why? This is Nigeria for You. Nigeria will not work unlike OBJ is out. He is 70% of our problem. |
One thing with us is that we talk with alot of sentiment A governor left ANPP and decamped to PDP nothing happend Some senator left AD decamped to PDP nothing happend because Atiku decamped to A/C PDP remember joint ticket. But when other where decamping joining them, they did not tell them to resign b/4 joining them. I don't believe in cheating. since PDP accepted others without them resigning from their party they should accept Atiku's decamping to A/c in good faith. |
What is then change? Must I remain in a party if I feel that their Ideology if no more followed. just not to be a prostitute? |
kaecy5:The report said alot. Is like you did not read it. E.g (from the report) vi. Investigation revealed that funds were diverted from Rivers State Government Account to Rockson Engineering Limited, where it was transferred installmentally between March 2005 to November 2006 from Bank Account Number 6571020007472 with Union Bank Plc. to the following Companies: a. The worst president we have is OBJ. Who elected Abacha as head of state? Who elected IBB as president? Who elected Buhari to rule us? We elected OBJ, Shagari, Belewa/Zik. I think is this people that we gave mandate and is them we should ask question on what they did with the mandate. IBB, Abachi, and Buhari governed us by force and they don't have our mandate and owe us nothing. We gave OBJ everything he needed to make life better for us, but he messed up. He has alot of money at his disposal, good brain to chunk out policies, but he choose political revenge, he choose to extend his tenure. Instead of developing universities he established one for himself, instead of equiping our library, he established one for himself. OBJ is the worst president we have. In mist of plenty he starved us. I will never forgive him for not making Nigeria great. He has wasted a whole good eight years without achieving anything meaningful. |
endykay:This is just the truth. Nigerian's should match to Abacha grave to apologies for all the embarashment we have given him since his death, b/c the kind of looting that is happening now is so much that the looting of Abachi is a child's play. |
How can you encourage your child to sleep out? What are you trying to achieve? Who are you impressing? mamaput: |
Deep Soul:This is the problem we have in this country. I am not surprised. The election as usual will be rigged. Our vote does not count. The person that will represent their evil plans will be declared winner. |
Uche Chukwumerije is a liar. Thank you for reminding us. I will believe Uche Chukwumarije any day any time. He shouted about third term, everybody denied it, even Fani Kayode, OBJ spkoes man that time said is not true. You can tell us more about it now. OBJ want to continue that is the fact. He feels he is the only person that can govern this country. |
omofineboy:Thank you my broda |
Has he accepted? |
PDP does not have right to remove VP, niether do President himself. The consititution is very clear about that. http://www.nigeria-law.org/ConstitutionOfTheFederalRepublicOfNigeria.htm |
I honestly don't know what you mean by the above. What exactly is condemning corruption? Isn't that what Obasanjo and the EFCC have been doing, yet each time you get you bash both Obasanjo and the EFCC for going after looters. In the same article you cited, Obasanjo for whatever reason denied Atiku the use of a presidential jet. Why? Because he is the PRESIDENT and has the power to do so, we may not agree with it and may not be able to do anything about it. This also means that even he is corrupt, there is really nothing you can do until he leaves office. So do you propose we fold our hands as a nation and not do anything about corruption until Obasanjo leaves? I am not sure what Nigerians like you really want. We can hate the President and his actions but still be OBJECTIVE, we are always thinking with our emotions.
If EFCC arrest some people for being corrupt while they allow others to be moving freely. I will not support them. There is a laid down process of doing things. If it is followed, nobody will complain. If Mr. President should send presidnetial jet to pick Tony Anineh but deny VP his own official plane I will not support Mr president. What a Nigerian like me want is treat Mr. A the way you treated Mr B. Why is Otunbda Fasawe being prosecuted and Olabode George walking freely. EFCC has done investigation on NPA which indicted him and submitted report to Mr president. So what is holding them in arresting him Is Olabode George more Nigerian than Fasawe. This is not emotion but fact. I have been consistent. I did not say that EFCC is not doing a good job in fighting corruption, but the process they are using is corrupt itself. The era of half bread is better than none is gone. Standard are being redefined. If OBJ is not ready to fight corrupt not matter who is involved. please let him hands off. I hate double standard and I hate it with passion. |
It is a victory for due process. EFCC act did not make provision for submission of report to Mr President. Bayo ojo panel did not follow the due process. EFCC knows what they suppose to do. Prosecute those that are involved. |
It has become imperative for people like us that are in sciences to be educated on who is the government of a country. I have done some internet search and find out that "A government is a body that has the authority to make and the power to enforce laws within a civil, corporate, religious, academic, or other organization or group. In its broadest sense, "to govern" means to administer or supervise, whether over a state, a set group of people, or a collection of assets." Then who are the government of Federal Republic of Nigeria? Let us know them so that we can hold them reliable for all our foes. |
Nigerians will win. This is just to show why we do not develop. Their personal interest is first before the national interest. Let the fight continues so that we will be able to get a better leader next year. Let them expose themselves so that we can see the stupidity of our so called leader. |
Hi fellows, you guys are like family now.I have a pressing problem at work. I just received a job offer. On resumption of duties i would be sent to SouthAfrica for a two-month training.I would be entitled to an official car,a Two bedroom flat and a starting salary of 80Grand per month upon my return. However to accept the offer I would have to be BONDED to this company for a minimum of FOUR years! I just graduated with a 2:1 in Mechanical Engineering and I believe my prospects are high! Should I accept the BOND? Please advise me accordingly.
What is your carrer plan like? What do you want to be in the next 2yrs? What do you want to be in the next 4yrs? Will be job if you accept it help you to chieve your career goal? If it happens that you must leave within four years, is there a monetary refund to the company? Four years is much but, your career plan will surely determine wether you will accept it or not. A friend of mine that we were employed the same day left within one month b/c he job does not allow him to pursure his carrer goal. |
Please I need more info in this UBA stuff. A friend of mine wrote the test, passed, went for interview. He was given offer letter. He resign where he was working before. Then the training at UBA house. He was forced to sign a bond to refund certain amount if he resign with certain period. After spending 6 weeks without pay. He came to my house and told me that they told him to go that he did not pass the training. I was a bit confused b/c I work in a bank too. Once employed your salary starts, even while on training and nothing like not passing training or signing of bond to refund money if you resign with certain years of employment. Can anyone in UBA or who knows what is happening explain? |
The truth is that Nigerian politics is not matured yet for people like Okotie, Pat Utomi, Donald Duke to participate. I wish Okotie well, but how far can he go. Even the so called FDP how many state are they and how many Councillors can they win, not to talk os governor, b/4 you talk of the presidency. I know that with God all thing are possible. |
You mean well just like most Nigerians, but fairness just doesn't sprout from nowhere. How do you expect to go from "the most" corrupt country to a corrupt free country without taking baby steps? Even the so-called process that will be used to pick this corrupt-free leader you people are hoping to get is in itself un-fair and rigged.
The first step is for all Nigerians to condemn corruption or any ilegality no matter who committed it. Then we can now fight it. But when someone does something wrong and is not seen as been wrong and when another person does the same thingt and it is seen as wrong, then we can no fight corruption. In the Impeachment saga in Anambra, Ekiti and Plateau state NJC has suspended the chief judge that aided the ilegality. Why did they suspend them b/c the process is corrupt. It did not exonerate Dariye from being corrupt. But it means that the way he was removed was wrong. That is what I am saying. The means of fighting corruption should not be corrupt itself http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=66363
For those attracted to Buhari for his honesty, you guys have forgotten that the man probably still needs to be languishing in jail for overthrowing an elected government in 1983 - that is treason, punishable by death in most country. Shouldn't we apply your argument here too?
Buhari commited felony by overthrowing Shagari government. But among all the devils that want to rule us, he is the better devil. he has not been accused of corruption. He is to the best of my knowledge honest and upright. he is the kind of president Nigeria needs now. He sent my corrupt official to jail. He was doing his best to correct the way Nigeria do things b/4 the evil genuis overthrow him. Remember in those days. You queue in bus stop, government offices to be attended to. I was in primary school then, but I still remember that we form a single line when entering our class room after morning assembly. Imagine how Nigeria would have been if that legacy was imbibed. There was orderliness everywhere. |
I honestly don't know the kind of country you people want to have. In one sentence we want a transformed Nigeria, and in another sentence we are celebrating and fighting for the rights of looters, essentially we want the status quo to continue. I am supposed to feel sorry for Alams or Dariye? Why do people find it so hard to understand that even if Obasanjo is the most corrupt person in Nigeria, you can not do anything to him now until he leaves office. So I supposed not until he leaves, no one else should be bothered? Lets bring back Alams, Dariye, etc. Lets restore Balogun to his IG post, lets replace Yar Adua with Dariye and swap Jonathan with Alams, lets disband the EFCC. Come to think of it lets forbid the dead courts from taking up any corruption case, since we all know that most likely the judges are corrupt anyway. . . What a sorry land?
We want a country where fairness is the order of the day? A country where there is rule of law. A country where the constitution is supreme. A country where court order is respected. A country where critics of the government is tolerated. A country where the president obey the law. You are in US according to your profile. Can any of these happen there, then why are you not seeing the ilegal way of pursuing legality in this country. Why can't you see the corrupt way they are using to fight corruption. Nobody is feeling sorry for any of them, but let us do the right thing. The means of fighting corruption should not be corrupt itself Ok let talk of Alams, Dariye and Co While I am not supporting corruption, let us put sentiment apart. Dariye. 1.He want impeached by less than 2/3 - no matter how corrupt he is, it is violation of the consitution. 2.EFCC was escorting the legislature that impeached him to the assembly house- is that what they suppose to do? 3.The Ecological fund he was impeached b/c of, he said that PDP collected N100m on directive from Aso rock. The said money was refunded. Why punish Dariye alone. What of the PDP that collected the N100M what did EFCC do to them. Let us face the fact. Alam Before his impeachment, the entire street of bayelsa state was taken over by soldier. The panel set to investigate him did not even invite him. they just wrote a report and submitted. Without fair hearing. So you want us to be support removing a corrupt governor in a corrupt way. Do you know that the fraud in NPA is hundred times more than that of PTDF, EFCC indicted the board headed by Olabode George a PDP chieftain, but OBJ was fast to set up an administrative panel to investigate Atiku and rejected EFCC report on NPA. EFCC report on governors shows that almost all of them are corrupt, but OBJ rejected it. Is this fairness. I will forever be against any ilegality no matter who is involved. The rules should apply to everyone. not selected people. |
@saintchux I will allow some of your point. Care to explain why Atiku did not swear an oath using the Koran, that really baffles me.
What has oath of koran has to do with telling us the truth. I don't believe in the oath they are taking because, the more they take it, the more they lie. I have asked you " What happen to Lagos LG fund. Supreme court rules that FG has no right to cease. OBJ refused to release it, but he swore an oath with bible to defend the constitution. I don't want to go into the impeachment in Plateau, Anambra, Ekiti, Oyo and even Bayelsa where EFCC and OBJ aided the legislature to impeach their governor ilegally.
Up till now, Atiku is yet to come up with a credible defense, except for Obasanjo and associates did worse things or if he mentions Transcorp and 3rd term enough he will be off the hook.
I don't know what you mean by credible defense. This guy has explained how they managed PTDF. May be you are a lawyer. You want to defend him. Ok we are waiting. He mentioned 3rd term to show how the money was looted. Remember during that period N50m were given to those who supported the project. Where did the money came from? He mentioned Transcorp to show that even the President borrowed money from a bank where PTDF lodged moeny. Does that means that it is PTDF money? I am not defending Atiku, but OBJ should not crucify him b/c they quarrelled. Two of them looted PTDF and two of them should be punished, not only Atiku. |
A probe is going on and testimonies are being heard, why do we need to use deduction to get it from Atiku that he looted or mismanaged funds under his care? Until he can stand up and say YES, we looted and mismanaged the PTDF accounts, he has no credibility with me. He knows he has lost out in the power tussle and he is just simply hauling whatever ammo he has left at Obasanjo - a mixture of some truths, outright lies, and some hot buttons issues that most Nigerians finds suspicious about Obasanjo's true intent like 3rd term or Transcorp.
The problem we have is when we two people give us report and we believe one and reject the other one. EFCC gave report, Atiku gave report, and other agencies gave reports too. Why is it that is only Atiku own is a mixture of some truths, ouright lies, and hot button issues. EFCC report is the truth. OBJ report is the truth. Did OBJ not buy shares in Transcorp? Did selling of Nitel to Transcorp duelly done considering the president been a share holder?
Yes, I am sure he discussed the $20million disbursement with the President in person, very credible Atiku! If he really had the best interest of the country at heart, why not table the matter before the Executive Council where it will get into the minutes of the meeting as even the President doesn't even have the authority to sign off on that amount without the Executive Council input. Rather its now he say she say, vintage Atiku.
If the president gave him the go ahead to approve, then he should not approve it abi? Because FEC have not authorised it. Why did he discuss it with him in the first instance. Why not just approve. Now because the going is bad, they are using it to prosecute him. Remember OBJ used billions of naira for census without national assembly approval. The request was sent to national assembly when it was discovered that such money was spent. My broda, this is politics. When the going turns bad. Even your wife will deny you. |
joshO:Even if Atiku did not achieve anything for past eight years. For being courageous enough to go against third term is enough for him. We need people that can challenge illegalities. That he is a VP does not mean he should allow his boss to perpetrate evil and ilegalities, by being loyal. Go and kill yourself, so that you will be loyal to me. OBJ is full of ilegalities. Look at some of the governors, they were supporting thrid term, but immediately third term failed. they all declared interest in contesting. Only Orji Uzo Kalu was openly against third term. Odili that was singing third term declared for presidency immediately thrid term failed. Is it people that can not stand agaist illegality that you want. Job is given to Job seekers and not those at home relaxing. |
quote author=Iyke-D link=topic=33480.msg769776#msg769776 date=1166617273] @saintchux, Please read today's headlines from either Thisday, Punch, or Vanguard. Atiku was so truthful he didn't even bother to swear an oath using the Koran before his testimony. He is too honest and important to be bothered with swearing before Allah to tell the truth!
I read headlines and details. Atimes headline deceives people. What of a headline like this " ATIKU FLAWS PDP" only for to read it and find out that is just a court judgement saying that PDP suspending Atiku is null and void. Please read details and not headlines. Headlines is used to sale Newspaper. My deduction from all Atiku has been saying is that OBJ also looted. That he even looted more than him. I still insist that OBJ was part of the looting and two of them should be impeached. I hope you read Gani's view in todays paper. Details not headline. http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=66197
He did not bother to explain why he single handedly authorized a $20million transaction when his limit was N50 million.
This is Atiku's defense. "In addition to the above, the EFCC has mischievously alluded to my approval of an additional US$20 million as funding for the PTDF's activities as an unauthorised transaction. Firstly, as I have said repeatedly about this matter, I approved this additional sum of US$20 million for the PTDF based on the Executive Secretary's memo in which he informed me that the additional funds were required to achieve uniformity and geo-political spread in the implementation of the projects that they were then undertaking. Secondly, it is quite misleading to say that this transaction was unauthorized. I am astonished, shocked and filled with indignation to hear claims that I acted unilaterally in approving a sum such as this. For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to state categorically that I discussed this matter with the President in person and he did not object. It was within this context and the global approval already given by the President to fund and implement the PTDF's programme of action that I gave the approval for this US$20 million. In any event, this disbursement has already been authenticated by the Honourable Minister of Finance" |
What report? You mean the report doctored and delivered by Atiku?
EFCC delivered their report, u believed, but Atiku delievered, u call it doctored and u are not supporting OBJ. Read Atiku's report very wellhttp://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=66207 Both OBJ and Atiku erred. They mismanaged the PTDF fund. OBJ will never deny not know how those fund are been used during the period Atiku was over seeing PTDF, now that they have fallen apart he want to claim saint. This is just like th ecological fund of Plateau state that they used to sponsor 2003 election. OBJ and PDP have recked this country and need to be shown the way out OBJ and Atiku should be impeached and all the money looted recovered. If not then Nigerian's should match to the grave of Abacha to render apology to him for all the embarrasment given to him for looting. |
chidichris:participating or not participating will not alter their plan os selecting who will e the president or governor. You will only do yourself a favour by doing what you think is right and leave them to face the music whenever it comes. Boycourting will favour them more. Go there vote and protect your vote. |
For the past few day, I have been wondering why we are heading to. Umar yar'Adua did not have the intention of contesting the presidency until about late november when the powers that be brought him out. Jonathan on his own path won the guber ticket for Bayelsa, has no intention whatsoever in going to Aso rock. Now these bunch of robots with no knowledge of Nigeria state are been drafted by OBJ to come and complete the wrecking of this country where he stopped. And be his rubber stamp when he left to his Ota farm. Can Umar Yar'Adua stand beside Thabo Mbeki. Where are we heading to? What has Umar Yar'Adua done in Kastina state. What ideology does he posses. What is his dream for Nigeria? Is it not time for Nigerians to say no to this manipulation of OBJ. |
