It is barbaric for a man to beat a woman, not to talk of beating your wife. Though at times women may be the cause of the beating. But why beat her. There are many ways to show your grievances. Why do men beat women? Is it for the fun it? I believe that a man can not just come home and descend on his wife and use her to train for a boxing competition. My father taught me that beating is not the best way to correct someone and because of that I did not receive a single cane from my parents. But the punishement I got, I usually prefer the cane, and the punishment will never the same. Atimes is come immediately, other times istcomes later. So why beat. |
TerraCotta:I am niether OBJ nor Atiku fan. But my interest is that, there must be something that baba is protecting or hidding that he don't want Atiku to see or reveal. If not why all these energies just ot stop one Atiku Abubakar from being president. I will never be OBJ fan. He had the opportunity to make this country great but he messed up. |
I have beeing wondering who is this man Atiku Abubakar that OBJ is using all the resources within his disposal to stop him from being the president of this country. Why all these energies just to stop Atiku? Who is this man that the president has to kneel down before him in other to secure a second term in office? So I heard. Who is this man?? |
Gov. Chimaroke is very corrupt, there is no doubt about. Please what EFCC is after is the ownership of Cosmo FM, RainbowNet, Reinaaisence University, etc. Those people defending the governor should tell us more about those companies and university. Those infrastructure they are talking about has been the same infrastructure he has been advertising since 2000. ESUT permanent site has not been completed, but he decieve people with advert. Engineering student are still at the old site. Dualizing of New haven, is it the only road in Enugu state, why all the noise?? The LG funds he took, what did he do with it? My LG did not get anything from him for 7years except a road which even FG refunded the state government. Chimaroke should be impeached and sent to jail immediately. He is corrupt. |
I will not be surprised. After all El Rufia has said it. Obasanjo has also confirmed. Even though it is selection rather than election. But I believe that they will perfrom better than Obasanjo. The way Duke is managing cross river state. I know that he will do his est for Nigeria, just like yaradua. The only governor I know that decalred his assets including the money he has in trust fot his late brother. Let us watch as seen how the selection 2007 is going to be. In this country our vote does not count. What matter is who Aso rock wants. |
Nigeria Will Soon Divide Na u go divide am ![]() |
Why should we compare Nigeria TV with foreign TV. I does not make sense at all. Most of the technologies we are using is from there. Most of our programmes are even richer and more entertaining than theirs. Apart from Football. whatelse can the foreign TV offer? Nigeria Television is really trying. Given the harsh environment they are operating. No electricity for running of the TV station. Use of generator more than 12 hours in a day. Increase in price of petroleum every time. Before now u can only watch NTA, but we have many private television station almost in every state. Imagine watching the debate on 3rd term live coutesy of AIT. What we need is for the government to do their part, give us steady electricity, good road and cheap communication, I bet you we will perrfrom better than foreign TV station. Our Jounalist aree been harrased everyday by police for reporting one thing or the other. Imagine a journalist been arrested for saying that presidential jet is tokunbo. It can not happen in foreign land. Let us pray for may 29 2007 to come, so that this bad government will go. may be our cries will be heard by God and a leader will be given to us. |
El-Rufai, at the launching of the Heart of Africa project in Washington, United States told a business forum on Nigeria‘s socio-economic reforms as a model for Africa‘s development, that the Federal Government was determined to stop Babangida. “We won‘t let him come back after reviewing the state of the nation before the transfer of power in 1999 from the military to the civilian,” el-Rufai said. According to him, the PDP has created a screening process that will ensure that the next presidential nominee from the party will be a decent and honest, person “whose age would fall between 44 and 55.” Babangida is 65. “A member of our generation that will emerge as the President and I think I know who it is,” he added. Please is this selection or election?. How can El Rufia know who will emerge as the president of this country before the election. Is he a prophet? If they have already seleccted who will be the president, why waste all these money in voters registeration. Why all the money give to INEC for preparation of the election. Why waste time and resources by parties to conduct primaries. I feel like going changing my nationality. I am ashamed of what our government does. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art20061207342445 |
This is no news and it has even generated enough buzz. Robbers will even rob a police station and nothing will happen. |
And please what is wrong is she is been monitored by her mother? Is being 20 years enough to be independent? Is she matured emotionally to be on her own? What of financial power, can she take care of herself without messing around? Why can she sit at home and be a better girl |
What is he going to declare ![]() Bell University ![]() Ota farm that can not feed him in 1999 and is making profit of N500,000,000 now? Shares in Transcorp? Just tell me. My brother, let just put our charplet inside water and be praying for a leader Nigeria needs. |
I don't have any question for Babaginda. There is nothing we can do concerning the past. Asking him about annulment of june 12 will not change things. Let us forget question to ask IBB and focus on how to stop IBB He has declared his intention to contest for presidency come 2007. All of you that are shouting kill IBB, kill IBB how many of you have registered to vote. If you like kill IBB in this forum, and if you can not vote against him during the election period, then forget it. The power to stop him lies in the ballot box. |
I will vote for Duke as president, even if IBB turn to be his vice I don't care. |
Is not true. It is only few Nigerian that are hold us hostage. |
Odeku:notice of allegation should be signed by one-third. It is very clear on that. you forgot to mention this part of the 188 2 (b) in most of the impeachment, it is not the speaker that served the governor involved. They suspend the speaker and appoint another person. All these is abuse of the law and should not be encouraged. the speaker of the House of Assembly shall, within seven days of the receipt of the notice, cause a copy of the notice to be served on the holder of the office and on each member of the House of Assembly, and shall also cause any statement made in reply to the allegation by the holder of the office, to be served on each member of the House of Assembly. (9) Where the report of the Panel is that the allegation against the holder of the office has been proved, then within fourteen days of the receipt of the report, the house of Assembly shall consider the report, and if by a resolution of the House of Assembly supported by not less than two-thirds majority of all its members, the report of the Panel is adopted, then the holder of the office shall stand removed form office as from the date of the adoption of the report. There is no way we can take only the section that will support our arguement and leave the other. I think subsection 9 is clear enough to tell us the number of legislature that will endorse the impeachment. while one-third can initiate, two-third must adopt the report for a govenor to be impeached The fight against corruption should not be corrupt itself. |
Odeku:@Odeku Do you know I love you. Atleast we agree sometimes. Our leader are abusing the law. Not following due process. That a bloody governor jumped bail, opened 13 accounts, looted the state treasury is not the reason for 5 legislature to abuse the law in order to impeach him. Most of us knows that IBB looted but he is enjoying now. But I believe that one day he will be brought to book. By May 29, 2007 most of the governors will finish their tenure and those that have commited crimes, like my own governor will be picked up and tried. So why waste energy and money to impeach them unconstitutionally, abusing our law and giving our dear country a bad image as a country where there is no law. |
That is the problem we are having in this country. If you have presidential blessing you can do anything, but once, you fall out of favour, forget it, you are a gonner. Bellview crashed, Sosoliso crashed, ADC crashed plus other ones and the old man is still there serving as a minister and the our claimed reformist did not see any reason to remove him. Redeploying him is an indictment. He should be removed. He must be protecting some interest. I bet you. |
Odeku:Thank you for your advice, I will enroll for me to learn the Nigerian constitution. But I don't need vocational training in Constitution to know that 5 legislatures in plateau state is not up to 2/3., niether do I need the training to enable me know that 6 legislature in not up to 2/3 in Anambra state. Please you that knows, please teach the legislatures and your brother obasanjo to obey the constitution. The little I know allows me freedom of speech which I am enjoying here, And a lawyer like you is using a derogatory word on me. Let me stop here. Odeku:I will not vote for IBB that is my position as an individual, but we should not forget that the same constitution IBB right to contest. When shall we start to do the right thing. please come home during election and vote him out. |
@Odeku At times I begin to wonder which side you are. You will support government for doing the right thing in the wrong way. You will come to the other side and blame the same government you supported. Why are you now complaining na wa ooo @Odeku How can we save this beloved nation of ours? 1. Consitution should be supreme. 2. Tell your brother Obasanjo to Obey it (Supreme court ruled that FG have not right to withheld LG fund, for over one year LG fund of Lagos state is still been withheld) 3. Tell your brother Ribadu to follow due process of the law to impeach governors (how can house of Assmebly sit by 5am and 5 legislature impeach a governor) Can this happen in US ? |
Odeku:Dariye is not my uncle. I am not from Plateau state. I am married & cannot even marry from plateau state. This is my point: To fight aginst corruption, the system used to fight it should not be corrupt itself. All I have been saying is that let us do it right. I am bitter becuase is giving us a bad name. Odeku:PDP did not put gone on Him niether dd Mantu. But when PDP and mantu collected the money, they know where it is coming from. They know that it is Plateau state government money. Why did they accept it ![]() ![]() I have never supported looting or laundering of money. What I am sayng it that the rule of law should be followed. Mr. Bamidele Aturu said: " The point must be made again that while no one supports looting of public treasury by elected or appointed officials, there can never be any sensible justification for breaching the rule of law as was manifestly done on the Plateau. What took place in Jos this morning (Monday) is nothing but unbridled legislative brigandage." For your Infromation, Bamidele Aturu is Human Right Activist. |
If Nigerian can pursue IBB out of the office, If Nigeria can make Abacha restless. Obasanjo a bloody civilian case is like moi moi. I am waiting for May 29 2007 and he did not remove his bloody ass from Aso rock, then his case will be worse than Abacha. TENURE ELONGATION WILL NOT WORK, WE ARE NOW AWAKE. |
saintchux, Also, in my opinion, going by what I have learnt about Chris Uba, $170,000 is not really a lot of money for his older brother, Andy. I presume these guys were already wealthy even before Obasanjo entered the scene - but then, I may be wrong.
Due process!!!. That what I am saying If you want to transfer money outside the country, do it the normal way. Use your bank. Chris Uba may have $1 billion. That is Chris Uba. We are talking about Andy. So don't bring Chris into this matter. After all the source of Chris money is still unknown. The governor of my state recked my state, but he is obasanjo boy. Nothing is happening to him even after EFCC arrested some men in his cabinet. After normal EFCC noise making. Everything boils down. On Dariye, nobody is talking about the money donated to PDP Nobody is taking about the money given to Mantu What of the refund made by Obasanjo and Atiku to Plateau state. Anyway, Obasanjo has succedded in what he want, remove dariye from office, but let us watch where all these things will lead us to TENURE ELONGATION OR A BETTER NIGERIA. |
The Problem we have is that we are not patriotic at all.
What is so damaging about a member of the President's entourage being investigated for money laundering? How is this worse than Alam's case? May be I missed it, but I don't remember seeing this on BBC or on any major other news network here - couldn't be that important, don't you think? I really wonder about the level of thinking of some of our people - not to make light of the allegation against Andy Uba, but how people can look at both cases and decide that Uba's case is far worse than Alam's boggles the mind. I don't know how EFCC fits in here, was the $170,000 supposedly looted? Also, I am no expert of international laws, but I doubt very much that a presidential jet from another country will be subjected to any form of search, talk much of seizure - what do you have diplomatic immunity for? US laws were broken and Andy Uba must answer for it, but trying to tie this around Obasanjo and Nigeria's so called "esteem" is just a stretch.
1. I don't need to request for Andy Uba's pay slip to know that his salary for all his tenure in Obasanjo's cabinet is not up to $170,000. 2. A thief is a thief. whether Alam's case or andy's case is grieves is not an issue. 3. According to report about N6.5M was used to purchase farm equipment for Obasanjo farm. 4. EFCC fit in here because we want to know where the money came from and why it did not follow due process of transfering money outside the country. Why presidential jet? 5. What is damaging is that presidential jet is involved and it affect Nigeria corporate image and you know what that means, if Goerge Bush should go to Britian and Miss Rice was later found out to have came with $170,000 on board, is because this is Nigeria. If we do the right thing, we will develop like US and Britian. Follow the rules no matter how and the cost. |
Odeku:I doubt if you are in Chicago as you profile says. If you are you should be supporting Constitution. Majority of the US citizen never liked war in Iraq. But they did not do anything unconstitutional. They waited till election period to vote aginst it. Then my supposed brother who is leaving in a foreign land that is well organised is supporting unconstitutionality in Nigeria to achieve what can be done under the consititution. What do you thing that develop country will take us at. People that have no respect fr constitution. I DO NOT SUPPORT CORRUPTION BUT LET IS FOLLOW DUE PROCESS. THE WAY EFCC IS BEEN RUN NOW. I DOUBT IF IT WILL SURVIVE AFTER OBASANJO. |
I am not in support of any corrupt politician elected or appointed. But my opinion is that let due process be follow. In oyo less than 2/3 Impeached the governor In Ekiti less than 2/3 Impeached the governor In Anambra less than 2/3 Impeached the governor In Plataeu less than 2/3 impeached the governor and we are here celebrating ?Is Obasanjo free Is Ribadu Free Where is Andy Uba? What is happening to NPA (Olabode George) Let us cry for Nigeria instead of being glad or celebrating. Mr. Bamidele Aturu said: " The point must be made again that while no one supports looting of public treasury by elected or appointed officials, there can never be any sensible justification for breaching the rule of law as was manifestly done on the Plateau. What took place in Jos this morning (Monday) is nothing but unbridled legislative brigandage." |
