RomanceLove And Relationships Do Not Interest Me Anymore, How About You Guys. by Saintinoo(op): 4:53pm On Nov 26, 2023
With the current trend of billing among Nigeria ladies, what is the fate of young guys who want to go into relationship and possibly get married in the shortest time.

All I see in most Nigeria girls is love for money, through there are few who will not disturb you, who see relationship as a give and take. Almost a year after my last relationship and I am not finding relationship or marriage interesting anymore.

Guys, anyone in my shoe?

Tinubu administration is taking policies based on an accountant perspective, it is all about revenue, profit, revenue, tax. That is not how to run a country. I might be wrong on the long run if they can at least prove me wrong.

Governance is about the people, this government have to bring in people oriented policies such that an economist will propound. An economist care about the welfare of the citizens but an accountant care about profit.

Pres Tinubu should not think Nigeria as a company, masses can not continue paying tax only for greedy politicians to loot and enjoy themselves. I know many Nigerians do not know what is happening, we now pay more tax than ever before ( indirect tax) which is one of the worst type of tax. You can see the effect on the high prices of goods and services. Soon Nigerians will find it difficult to breath then there will be serious problem.
FamilyRe: Should I Have Collected The Bread From Her Mother? by Saintinoo(m): 2:09pm On Nov 20, 2023
PuZZyNegro:
I traveled from Lagos to Port Harcourt to see my future in laws family. My girl wasn't around as she's still in Lagos schooling.

I went there with a family member and got them some items like shortcake biscuits and juice.

They offered us food and we ate. After the meeting and normal questioning, we were set to go when surprisingly, this people brought out two loaves of bread and gave us. I told them that the food we ate was enough, that we don't need the bread.

We haven't even gone far when my girl started texting me on WhatsApp angrily asking me why I rejected her mother's gift. That she gave it out of love, this and that.

I told her that bread is the wrongest gift the mother could give me. I am supposed to buy them bread and not the one way round. I intentionally refused to buy bread for them because I assumed bread is an everyday food that people buy and eat, so I decided to go with the package biscuits instead and here they are offering me bread.

If it were something produced locally by them like coconut or something, I can understand but bread?

Please, did I do anything wrong rejecting the bread?
Another attended attention seeking g story. Your beb dey Lagos, you travel from Lagos come see her people without her presence. Try another stpy story line bro.

Not having a PhD is bad for someone who wants to be Nigerians minister of economics

Most importantly he has no policy formulation experience what so ever

He has no developmental economics experience at all

He has no experience working in a regulator or policy formulation agency
You think you are talking to someone who uses google to gain information on economics? I a have told you the best I can about macro and micro economics. I am very sure that you don't have a degree in economics, probably you have been reading some articles about economics on google.

Who told you a PhD is needed to be appointed as a minister of finance. Try and calm down bro, if I should explain this for you, you will see that being a minister of finance doesn't even need more of macro economic theories. Finance ministry is more of fiscal policies.

Wale Edun is great, it is his boss who is the problem, Tinubu came with the agenda of looting and improvising the country.

Commissioner of finance n minister of finance are not similar in any way outside just name

What they tackle are totally different
You can't have the knowledge of Macro without Micro, no matter the branch of economics you major, Macro and Micro economics, best called "Economic Theory" is mandatory.

Talk about branches like Monetary or development, those can be selected, but as an economists, you are expected to fit in all branches.

Wale Edun is good, has a bsc and MSC in economics, worked with many international economic organizations. He is widely recognized, just like I said, it is not his fault, Tinubu agenda is pure evil. Bring NOI into Tinubu government and watch her flop.

RomanceRe: Why It Is Inappropriate For A Woman To Make Financial Demands In A Relationship by Saintinoo(m): 10:28am On Nov 11, 2023
realG101:
Though, I've never been outside nigeria and have no personal information about how relationships are run in the western world. I believe romantic relationships are generally more refined and stress free (for the man) outside nigeria and Africa as a whole.

I don't want to be misunderstood, this is not me trying to hold nigerian relationships to foreign standards as this will be unfair due to cultural differences.

However, certain factors should remain globally constant as far as human relationships are concerned.

We are given to understand that in the usa and other advanced climes, both partners in a relationship are at liberty and usually willing to share financial responsibilities and provision generally is not a fixed responsibilities of the man.

Women abroad are generally open to split financial responsibilities with their men according to their capability and unlike their nigerian counterparts, they are not programmed to expect a man to foot all the bills.

Against this background, I'm of the opinion that it is inappropriate for a woman to make demands for personal items in a relationship.

It is very common and almost a norm in Nigeria for a woman to ask a man to buy her a phone or pay for her hair or even pay her rent.

Don't get me wrong, if you have an emergency as a woman, you can ask your boyfriend for help once in a while. But not to make the boyfriend your source of livelihood and maintenance.

Also, it is expected and perfectly normal for a man to buy his girlfriend a phone (maybe on her birthday), or pay for her hair. But I believe such expenses should be at his own discretion not upon demand by the girlfriend.

It is no classy for a girlfriend to make financial demands when it's not an emergency or a crisis.

But also, a classy boyfriend is expected to gift his girlfriend nice items once in a while to spice the relationship and to bond more.

If a boyfriend doesn't send you gifts occasionally, it is likely he is not comfortable financially or he is stingy. In this cases, the lady is required to engage him in order to discover the reason and decide whether she can cope.

Again, a woman is not mean to make financial demands for her personal needs. It's fine if the demand is for household maintenance when you two get married.

Moreso, it is expected that adults should be able to take care of their own personal needs.

Any person, man or woman, who cannot buy their own personal stuff or whose taste or lifestyle is beyond what they can afford by themselves, run from them. They are problematic people and can never be loyal to you.

In addition, any woman who make habitual financial demands when there's no emergency is either a runs girl or has a serious relationship elsewhere.

I am not oblivious of the fact that there are less privileged women out here who actually need to marry men who are capable of giving them a better life. This is an exceptional situation and I personally see nothing wrong in it as life is dynamic and is about people helping people.

What is unacceptable here is the narrative that women are okay to be entitled to men's money even when the woman has her own money.

It is key to note that unlike some decades ago, especially after the several industrial revolutions the world has witnessed, money making is no longer about muscle or masculinity but about brainpower.

There is no scientific evidence that a random man is smarter than a random woman which means money Making is not particularly easier for the man in today's world.

This is just a call to our ladies to up their game and do better so that we can see better and more successful and less problematic relationships and marriages in the coming generations.

Do you agree with these views?
More reason I don't do relationship with women again, I just can't phantom why I should take up a lady's responsibilities. If I am married to you fine, but just a relationship? No no no.

Truly, being a supporter of APC is never easy. Godwin have over 25 years experience in banking sector and rose to the position of CEO of Zenth bank, a first generation bank. Cardoso was chairman of a local bank with just 13 brank nationwide.

Soludo was a renowned economist, a monetarist, I know you don't know what bring a monetarist mean. Worked as an economic adviser to Obj, he knew how to play with monetary policies.

Keep defending evil because you are being paid monthly stipends which cannot even buy 25 litres of fuel.

Cardoso is a family friend to Tinubu, reason why he was appointed. The four deputies are more competent than him.

You don come again. Soludo was a guru of monetary economics, that is why we always advocate for an economist, especially a monetarist to handle CBN, to head CBN, you don't need commercial banking experience, what is needed is experience in handling monetary policies, which Soludo had, he was an economic adviser yo Obj before becoming CBN gov.

Even Godwin Emefiele was more experienced in banking than Cardoso.

When we tell you guys that CBN does not need bankers as head, you argue, CBN is not about making profit but about monetary policies to attain growth and development. Mind you, I even prefer the deputy governor heading the deve development dept Mallam Dattijo from Kaduna to this Tinubu family friend Cardoso.

Babachir just exposed his illiteracy. He doesn't even know requirements of a CBN governor. He is only using his myopic eyeballs at Cardoso's public/fiscal experience. Did you check Cardoso's academic and banking experiences? A former Citibank Board chair?? Economic PHd holder in top foreign school? What's Babachir's Cv like outside Naija local politics?
Cardoso doesn't have an economics degree, infact he did most of his studies on public administration, public administration has nothing to do with economics.

And yes, I will not appoint someone with his experience and educational qualification as CBN governor. In countries with economic structures, yes, but in an economically disorganized country like Nigeria, he is not fit.

I am tired of my wife's quarrelsome behaviour which I think she reserves for me. I can be having a honest conversation with her and out of nowhere it will lead to a quarrel with her. It surprises me.

Strange enough, I have observed her communication with neighbours, work colleagues and she knows how to compose herself but when it is me even a funny comment can upset her. Even when I tell her I didn't mean her negative interpretation of a comment, she will still insist on her negative interpretation.

She sometimes talks to me in a way that seems unfriendly to the point that I desire her talking to me the way she talks to outsiders. I have talked to her about it but it is not helping matters. She acts like she is not ware of her tone but there is a stark difference between how she talks to me and other people.

I earn far more than her and take care of the house bills so money is not an issue. I feel like I am the only one proactive about peace in the marriage while she is care-free.

How can I deal with this?
Marriage, more reason I tell my self that marriage is not for me, the institution of marriage have been destroyed by modernization. This wasn't how our mothers treated our fathers. Well OP I think first of all she lacks respect for you and you are doing or have done absolutely nothing about it in the past, hence she see you as someone below her.

paulosan:
Hi Nairalanders,
I had to use this new moniker for the purpose of this post.

I have been going out with my lady for 7 months now, and the relationship has been beautiful with everything falling in the right places, she has most of the qualities i have always desired in a woman.

I traveled out of town for two weeks, i got back yesterday, she opted to make me something before i got back so she went to my house earlier yesterday to prepare food.

I noticed that since I got back she has been texting on her smaller phone and has been carrying the phone everywhere while leaving the big one on the bed or anywhere. She work up this morning and continued texting on that phone, i have been acting like i am not seeing all the moves so that i can actually find out what it is.

I am trying so hard to be calm in other not to make her realize and wipe anything that might be as a pointer to evidence.

I have been having different thoughts as to have to handle it:
1. I was thinking of checking the phone, depending on what i see, i will ask her who she has been texting, i will after a few days like i did not see anything.
2. The second thought was i ask her who she has been texting and request that she opens the text and we see together.

I don't want to jump into conclusion until i see what it is. I really don't know what to do, i am confused and i don't want to make mistakes with my marital life as i plan settling down.

Please advice me, criticism is welcomed as i know some people will come at me.
You see, that is the problem with all these relationship, she is probably seeing another man or multiple men, but do you blame her? What if you do not marry her.

That is the reason I stopped anything about relationship, for my mental health, when I think I am emotionally ready to keep a woman at home, I will go get a feminine young and gentle woman. But you see love, its a fallacy.

Jewessgratitud3:
It's amazing how I was contemplating making this post before a member here requested or should I say started asking me questions in that line and being a very free and open person, I promised I was going to post about it.

Well... Let me start from my background and up bringing which also contributed indirectly to my nonregrettable actions that has left me in this wonderful marital status.

I grew up in a Catholic christian home where good virtues moral values were instilled in us by engaging us in christian children activities from an early age. The Most social part of my childhood ( apart from school) was around the church then back home with close monitoring. So there was no room for nonsense even up to our secondary and tertiary level. the monitoring was topnotch. So we didn't really get to do shit like our mates who got exposed early to certain lifestyle,; dating number one.

We were overprotected and shaped with these guidelines that a mindset was formed that boy and girl relationship is a taboo ( and it's true). So we knew better than to toll that part.

In the long run, after I have come off age, it became very difficult to date. This was at age 21. Whenever I manage to give a man a listening ear and he mentions sex, I'll run without looking back because that was a danger sign we were taught to look out for. So i was always running away from men because of premarital sex. It got to a point, after looking like that's the only way to get a husband and I was already in my mid twenties, a time when a girl should be getting ready to settle down, I said ok, let me see if I can bend the rules a bit for this one. This man was a chronic responsible bachelor. So I felt it could work out since he's ready to settle down. He was in his mid 30s the and never married. We were in the same compound. So I gave in and we started dating. Mind you there was no pressure from both parents to get married. My parents will never pressure you to get a suitor.

Being a novice in the game, I never knew men could double date or even knew how to handle one when it happens. So, on this fateful day the randy goat came home with another girl. It was our last born that came and told me some girl came to look for him because everyone in the compound knows us together. I was heartbroken and right there I broke up with him without even finding out who or if what they both have is serious. Though I made him cry cos I started entertaining other boys that have been chyking me and bringing them to the compound but I never had anything with them or knew any of their houses. I was just using the to pepper him. Once they say hi, I'll drag them to the compound and we will sit on top of his car sometimes until he now confided in one of our neighbors who now told me to stop that the man is always crying. E never cry. I showed him two can play that game. He tried coming back but I bulshit him.

After that I locked up and never trusted any man. I began to see why my dad was being overprotective. I didn't date again for almost five years and then men were coming but that was when my own shakara increased. I mean responsible well to do men o. That was when men had good jobs from banking, investment and oil companies in ikoyi and vi both staff from five star hotel like Eko hotels and suites, federal palace cos those were the places I worked so I had many suitors and friends but the moment they mention relationship, Ill take off.

Part 2

It continued like that and I was enjoying my life with peace of mind that I forgot about time or didn't bother about it cos I don't care.

When I entered mid thirties, I said let me loosen up a bit but because Ive gotten used and enjoyed single life with peace of mind to that age, I found it difficult to commit again because anytime I tried, I'll start having anxiety. The thought of him cheating on me or even as little as admiring another woman will just make me unsettled and I'll think of aborting mission before it's too late.

So I said to give one man a chance, he too brought another girl in my absence. I found out from the sister and that was it. I called it off he begged and begged that the lady was forcing herself on him and sending him money bla bla.. he made a conference call with his family begging, my mind was made up I dumped him and moved on to a Choir boy Ive been admiring who was also trying to talk me into a relationship. I truly loved this guy and I think I was older than him in age . Though he refused to tell me his age but I was able to deduce from his Facebook profile cos he wrote class of 2006 while I finished 1999 but because I don't look my age, we just looked like age mate and we loved each other.

I met him when he just finished serving and was squatting. I was out of job then but one thing that made me stick with him was, even though he was not working, he shared whatever little he had with me. We were together when a very rich young pastor came asking for my hands in marriage. I told him about it and he started feeling sad that because he doesn't have a bearing now some guy wants to take me away from him. I on the other hand don't really fancy the pastor but wanted to force myself and see if it will work but it wasn't working because I didn't have feelings for him. To now make matters worse, he started showing stinginess. In the three months we courted, we didn't get to sit together because he's a pastor so we only see in church, stand and talk very briefly and disperse and each time he kept posting me about money I asked for to enable me travel for Xmas and the day was fast approaching. It was my Choir boyfriend that wen to borrow money from one girl selling recharge card to give me to travel. Now coupled with the fact that I don't even like him, i just texted him to look for another sister. The highest he ever bought me was two two hundred naira recharge card a stinkingly rich ajebota pastor for that matter ( 2014) but he would always call me.

Lastly, in 2016, my bobo got a job in Chevron with a nice apartment in lekki. Before then we had a small quarrel and we're not in talking terms because I requested for money for hair to attend my twins introduction and he told me no money but he didn't tell me he was saving for an apartment. Even then, how much? So, after months of not talking, he called and invited me over to see his new place. A surprise I guess. I got there and we had a nice time. He tried to make it up to me. He gave me his short and polo to wear that day and took me to a pepper soup joint. **Smiling**
later we got back and ad I was about to shower, I saw a used shower cap in his bathroom. He now handed me a new one from his wardrobe where there were many more. I asked him who used the one in the bathroom, he said baby don't start again. I held my peace.
The following morning he did something that I can't say for sure what really happened.

I slept over because there was no way I could go back from lekki to the mainland that day. That night he came to disturb me and I told him you know we can't be doing this. Please let wait till everything is formalized. When he wouldn't let me be, I left him and went to sleep on the floor. In the morning he woke up and was saying you, you, I was just looking at you as we were talking someone knocked on the door. It was a ladies voice. My ex went to meet her and they were together for almost 30mins before he came back inside. Me i didn't talk. I suspected he went to do nonsense because his thing was up when he left only to come back and it has come down.

We prepared and left together that morning for work. When I got home, I called and told him off. Na small thing dey vex me. He didn't believe it. So many things on my mind that made me take that huge decision. Men are not worth my type.

Since then till date, I stopped anything relationship especially if it's not a born again and I must like him. I faced my God ever since and decided to give myself peace. I can't stand a cheating partner. Disease dey town and I don't want to end up a baby mama.

Now, with the way things are, no jobs, the few decent men can hardly fend for themselves let alone catering for a family, I just decided to let sleeping dogs lie. Make person no come enter from fry pan to fire. Some family men now are dumping their family and running away from their responsibilities leaving the women to carry all the burden. So tell me what will make marriage enticing to me again? Abi na domestic violence? Biko Biko.
From your story, it seems you chooses to remain single from your 21. You were so Choosey which is wrong, you wanted the perfect guy. What that pastor did is never wrong, just like me, my girlfriend can never expect money from me, for God sake, he is not married to you yet.

You made so many wrong decisions, at your young age, and that was the reason you are not married not your upbringing.

That will benefit local production and increase employment ultimately.

No government can discourage the importation of raw materials into their country. Buhari placed a dollar ban on them because they are finished goods which are being produced locally.

Yes, I&E window is currently at 740 per Dollar, still fair enough

If a business Man import Rice from Thailand with that exchange rate.....A bag of rice won't exceed 22k by December
Ignorance and too much emotion is disturbing you, what do you think inflation is?

For your information, importation of rice e was never banned, and now that restrictions have been lifted on sourcing dollar for it importation, the resulting effect will be more scarcity of dollar leading to increase in price of rice. That is what CBN do not want to tell you, but are just beating around the bush hoping they can stabilize the naira against dollar.

For your information, CBN does not print dollar, we only earn dollar by exporting, and our foreign reserve is almost empty, where will CBN get the dollar to go round for all importers?

Don't get your hope high, the suffering just started.

Apart from bad govt policies, our local producers are the reasons things are so expensive. These local producers can't produce enough for Nigerian consumption, they will encourage the govt to ban importation by lying that they are producing enough, govt will finally ban importation of the product which then lead to low supply, high demand and then high price embarassed. Rice and cement became expensive due to this fact, same with other commodities. Local production is supposed to go side by side with importation in order for consumers to have a choiceembarassed
Now it is local manufacturers fault, soon you will even blame your parents and leave the government. How many local manufacturers have shut down business because of bad govt policies. Come to the North and farm rice, then see reason why rice is expensive.

For your info, price of local rice will go up next year again because farmers using irrigation can't afford fuel. So you will blame the farmers too abi.

They just say that to confused the local manufacturers, the reverse is the case but the local manufacturers give the CBN no other alternative. The ban was initially placed to protect the manufacturers but rather than appreciate the government and make life easy for the masses, the local manufacturers saw it as opportunity to hold both the government and the masses by the throat in the name of making profits, just imagine how much we are going to by rice by December if the government has not lift the ban. Nigerians are selfish by nature, they can turn around to bite you even while you are fighting to protect them and that is exactly what they have done to the government and now the government want them to struggle for their own survival if they can.
You people people seem to not understand, who said price of rice will drop, was there ever a ban on the importation of rice?

Local manufacturers didn't take the masses for granted, the economy is also hard on them, if they were making it, most wouldn't have shut down.

CBN and Nigeria government are the ones taking Nigerians for a ride here, they are unnecessarily giving Nigerians false hope, so as the complains can stop. There recent policy in fact is going to cause more harm, the price of those 43 items which dollar ban was lifted on is expected to skyrocket before December.
