FastShipping: Empty threat from PDP. They should ask what happened in the case of Obasanjo vs Atiku in 2006 when Atiku (sitting VP) decamped to AC. Tambuwal remains the Speaker of the House till May 2015. This law is applicable to Legislators; afterall, Zamfara APC recently sacked councillors that defected to PDP. The reason for this law, is to ensure that the party retains its numerical strength in the house. Parties need to push their agenda in the house; thus, defection of members for personal reasons will jeopardize the party's ambitions. A good law I must say ..... well thought out. As it stands Tambuwal is not even a member of the house .... lol!If Tambuwal insists that he is the Speaker then let him go to the courts.....simple. |

It is not yet the fifth of November but it makes me remember ....... V 1. People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.
2. Remember, Remember, the 5th of November, the gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot. https://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02609/v_jpg_2609935b.jpgVoila! In view humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the “vox populi” now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin, van guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V. |

Abi dont yoy know that politics is a business that require a lot of money Na wa for you oh! Between those people who donated money for Gej are his benefactors. They donated the money because of political appointments and other benefits they will derive from mr president once he is re -elected. Politics involves people and money. Politics is not business. In US elections, the contestant is usually supported with donations, this shows that the contestant has the people behind him/her; why is Buhari different? Obama is mixed race contestant raised most of the funds for his first election from individual donors, John McCain had most moneybags in support of his candidacy. |

Politics › Re: Tambuwal:What The 1999 Nigerian Constitution Says About The Office Of Thespeaker by saintneo(m): 2:10pm On Oct 29, 2014 |
Clerverly: I read an article somewhere, where Oliseh Metuh of PDP, called for the resignation of Hon. Tambuwal for ditching a party on whose majority he rose to the office of the speaker house of Representative.
In his exact words: “After a thorough consideration of the matter, the NWC came to a conclusion that the Hon. Speaker, as a responsible elected officer, knows full well what is needful and honourable of him since his new party is in the minority [in the House]” he said.
I have also read some comments offline and online, when some ignorant/paid commentators have started insinuating that Hon Tambuwal May lose his office for simply not fulfilling the requirements of the law as regards the position of speaker.
It is very unfortunate that some Nigerians including public office holders are too lazy, to read the elementary sections of our Constitution, some of which are self explanatory.
Now, let us examine what Chapter V, Part 1 (Composition Of National Assembly) sections 47 -50 of the Constitution Of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria holds:
There shall be a National Assembly for the Federation which shall consist of a Senate and a House of Representatives.
48. The Senate shall consist of three Senators from each State and one from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
49. Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, the House of Representatives shall consist of three hundred and sixty members representing constituencies of nearly equal population as far as possible, provided that no constituency shall fall within more than one State.
50. (1) There shall be:-
(a) a President and a Deputy President of the Senate, who shall be elected by the members of that House from among themselves; and
(b) a Speaker and a Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, who shall be elected by the members of that House from among themselves.
(2) The President or Deputy President of the Senate or the Speaker or Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives shall vacate his office -
(a) if he ceases to be a member of the Senate or of the House of Representatives, as the case may be, otherwise than by reason of a dissolution of the Senate or the House of Representatives; or
(b) when the House of which he was a member first sits after any dissolution of that House; or
(c) if he is removed from office by a resolution of the Senate or of the House of Representatives, as the case may be, by the votes of not less than two-thirds majority of the members of that House.
So where did PDP find the supposedly "loophole" or authority in law, in asking Hon. Tambuwal to resign? The only option left for them, is to rally their members and see if they can muster the required number when plenary resumes in decemeber, in order to satisfy Section 50, subsection 2 C as highlighted above.
Anything else is calling for anarchy!
CC; Barcanista, Omenka, Berem, Obiagelli, Neenar, Donphilopus, ibsultan, Gbawe, pataki, edcure, pendy97, and the progressives! Sorry for the verbatim quote. 1. Who occupies the position of the Speaker? Majority party or minority party? 2. Which party will produce the Minority Leader? 3. SLIDEwaxie: see, u can never be a Japan/Germany/USA of Africa, but u sure is the china..because chinese are generally con artist and leader in inferior productions!
But china doesn't sell inferior good within their own boarders, they only sell outside.
Igbos sell even to their families..
I'll give instances:
As a building technologist, stanchions dnt come in 12 meters again but 11 meters.. Local ones are still 12meters but the imported (from china) are either 10.7 or 11 meters. The reason is:
Igbos has taken over the market and they now request for shorter length from overseas manufactures and hence, lower prices. The local ones dnt really sell again since cheaper ones can be bought. And the locals can't shorten their own length because of SON... They spoilt the market big time!
Same as electronics. Fake but cheap home theatres! U can only get the original at the accredited stores. Then they came in and start painting their shops like accredited seller again..they sell whack jobs for u as originals if u ain't lucky!
Phones!! If anybody can recollect those small nokia phones sold at N1,500 all over by our igbo brothers..those who buy them cldnt use them for 1 month. Bad service reception and bad package! Before everybody got wise, they've made their millions! The original of that phone was clearly 3.5k at slots and other accredited shops!
Electrical cable? That one full ground!! They sell fake cables as Nigerian wire cables which is the best in the world!!
Generators! Some people's got whupped, but av alwys been wise! Once, we have original copper coils..first they came with aluminium coils. They were cheap but are prone to electrical surges and low current! People avoid them. But they came out with something smarter: spraying of the aluminium coil in dark brown colours to resemble copper! And they sell either cheap, if u cld recognize it's fake, or they cld sell at normal price is u missed it!!!
They are fuckin up a lotta things!!! They think they're smart but they're nothing but con-men!
All their lies abt manufacturing things are balant lies! They only assemble their fake finished product sent from afar!!!
I won't be a victim anyways, I knw my game! I don't need to announce my tribe to you. First, your accusation is a generalization; there are Igbo people totally against inferior/fake goods - a prime example is Late Prof Dora Akunyili. I detest negativity as well because I have been a victim, a victim of a vice perpetrated by my fellow tribesmen/women; thus, I took my guns to defend myself and pray that God gives me victory. Second, your accusation fails to make you realise that there are other perpetrators of inferior/fakes in Nigeria. I once asked a cobbler of northern origin repair my trainers; after telling him what to do and bargained the price, he started doing some shabby work. I secretly observed him, when he was nearly done I popped out and stood by his side observing him; that was a checkmate, the idiot changed his hands ASAP. Okay, let's go political. Between Fashola and Buhari who is inferior/fake with respect to leadership? |

Nice topic you've got here but it will be good of you to understand that for an Engineer to go Entrepreneurial he/she needs money.
Our oil and gas industry is filled with 'Engineers' that hardly have dreams of developing the industry or dreams to branch-out into other developments involving engineering; their dream only ends with earning the salary and spending it on chics and beer-palour. The engineers with dreams are hardly allowed into position of relevance.
It is now left for the idealist-engineer to make himself/herself relevant. How? By generating ideas! By learning new skills such as sales and financial management. By going out there in the colosium to fight the fight of freedom.
Nigeria is not easy for the ones without godfathers.
Ideas rule the world, in God we trust........ |

radicalove: I am in dire need of answer to this dilemma. I'm so confused right now and sometimes I cry as a result of ill treatment from my one-time-beloved husband. I am a 27yrs old lady. I got married to the joy of my heart recently. He is a handsome young man that most ladies would love to be with. My marriage to him is only 7months old. My husband used to be an Angel, but recently, things had changed. Firstly, he keeps late night with his male and few female friends and clubs a lot. He would leave d house by 6pm only for him to return by 12midnight. Yet, my wonderful husband sees nothing wrong in that. Secondly, he still calls and chats with his past girlfriends, when I complain, he calls me a jealous wife. Imagine, he woke up 2 nights ago and started chatting with one of his girlfriend from 3am up to 5am, when I asked him who he was chatting with, he said it was one of his male friends, I know that was a very big lie. He even brings some of them home and continues the chat with them. Only God knows what is on his mind. Thirdly, my husband makes friends with all his neighbours including a single mother of 3boys. This single mother once told my husband that she needs a female child, now I'm wondering how that will be possible for her without a husband. My husband goes into her apartment to chat her up and I'm scared of this new development. Fourthly, my husband do not assist me with house chores even when he knows dt I'm almost 7months pregnant. I clean the house, cooks for him, wash his clothes in my condition while all he does is sit down and chat. Is that what a caring man is supposed to do? I do everything while he does nothing, yet we both work Again, I started working last month and when my salary came, this same husband of mine asked me to give him a particular amount of more than 50k which I did, so that he can add his own money to it so that we can both save it in one account that himself alone is a sole signatory to. He claims that the money will be used to buy a car for us. I doubt this because my mind tells me that if eventually, d car is bought, he will start using it to carry his numerous girlfriends. I prefer to save that same amount on my own, but he refused. His male friends drags him out to bar n they make him pay for the numerous bottles they consume, yet my husband sees nothing wrong with it. I'v complained about all these to him, but he does not seem to understand, he does not seem to care or love me anymore, what do I do my NL friends?. Please advice me like u would advice your sister, no insults pls Lady, I must tell you this; you got married to Peter Pan. |
