iPhone X Unboxing Video Leaked Online!

As we all know, the all-new iPhone X from Apple will arrive at the doors of the first lucky buyers on the upcoming Friday. However, it looks like someone had managed to shoot the unboxing video of the iPhone X while it’s being prepared for transportation.

The unboxing video of all new iPhone X shows that the tech giant Apple holds the existing packaging approach with documents places on the top of the phone and it also carries a “Designed by Apple in California” tag on the top when you first open the box.

Well, there’s nothing much the video shows. However, a small collection of images are also published by the same guy who recorded the video. You can check the images below.

Well, if we talk about iPhone X, Apple is struggling and working hard create more iPhone X units to meet the customers’ demand. The company also admitted that the demand of iPhone X has been fantastic since the first day of pre-orders.

Even Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook also promised to do everything that’s plausible to bring the latest iPhone X in hands of customers faster. So, what do you think about this? Share your views in the comment box below.

OMG! Apple Fires iPhone X Engineer After Daughter’s Hands-On Video Goes VIRAL

The tech giant Apple fired an engineer after his daughter recorded an interactive video showing some attributes of the still unpublished iPhone X and went viral on YouTube. The young woman not only revealed details of the team, she also recorded inside the company’s facilities, something that is forbidden.

Brooke Amelia Peterson published on her YouTube account, earlier this week, a video that included her trip to the tech giant Apple campus to visit her father and access an iPhone X, before its worldwide launch (November 3). The audiovisual material was collected by specialized media such as 9to5Mac, and it was further extended in the network.

As reported in “The Verge,” Peterson now claims that her father was fired as a result of her video. In a new content posted on her channel, tearful, she explains that her father violated a company rule by allowing her to record the unpublished phone on the company’s campus.

So, according to the reports, the tech giant Apple asked Brooke Amelia Peterson to remove the video, but it was too late, as the content had spread throughout the internet, or you can say that the content was gone viral.

While the material itself may seem innocent, it included images of the new flag team of the tech giant Apple and also taught special QR codes which are only for employees. Also, an application of notes that seemed to include code names of products not yet released by the tech giant Apple was taught.

It is not the first time that such situations occur. Some time ago an employee of the tech giant Microsoft was fired after his son published photos of the Xbox 360 before its release.
However, now the tech giant Apple engineer who is in question had worked at the company for approximately four years, building the iPhone RF and wireless circuit design.

Recently a Twitter user who goes by the name Sherif Hanna had posted a photo of world’s first 5G smartphone. Well, Sherif Hanna is marketing lead for 5G NR and LTE Modems for Qualcomm. In his tweet, he wrote “Hard to believe that i have the world’s first 5G smartphone in my hand!”

Well, let me tell you that the phone displayed in the image above is not the final unit of Qualcomm’s first 5G smartphone instead it’s Qualcomm’s first mmWave 5G reference design. This is actually a model which was specially designed to test and optimize their 5G mmWave performance.

PhonesOMG! Apple Iphone X Pre-orders Sell Out In Minutes by sainttobs(op): 8:10pm On Oct 28, 2017
OMG! Apple iPhone X Pre-Orders Sell Out In Minutes

As we all know a few weeks ago tech giant Apple had officially unveiled the iPhone X. Well, the all-new iPhone X will launch officially on November 3 and the price starts from $999 for the base model. However, due to huge demands, iPhone x will be given the limited supply.

It is assumed that only a few buyers will actually be able to get their hands on the all-new iPhone X on its launch day. Let me tell you, the first batches of all new iPhone X is restricted to only a few markets. So, worldwide buyers have almost zero chances to get their hands on the new device unless they spend a ton of money.

Still, without an official date to reach other markets, the iPhone X went into pre-sale on Friday (27) in 55 countries and territories worldwide. But if you want to buy the biggest iPhone update in years, you have to be patient: the stock has evaporated in a matter of minutes.

The first to buy an iPhone X at dawn tonight will receive the product on November 3rd. Who took more than ten minutes to finalize the purchase saw the delivery deadline rise for 4-5 weeks. And just two hours after the pre-sale began, the tech giant Apple had already estimated deliveries in 5-6 weeks in the US market, as the BGR reports.

The tech giant Apple does not disclose how many iPhones X were available in the pre-sale, but analysts estimate numbers between 2 and 3 million units, which is little for a company that sells 78 million iPhones in three months. It is speculated that the device is experiencing delays in production due to the difficulty of manufacturing Face ID, the face recognition sensor.

However, now if we talk about the prices then let me tell that in the United States, 64 and 256 GB iPhones X were available for $999 and $1,199, respectively.

So, what do you think about this? Simply share your views and thoughts in the comment section below.

PhonesConsumer Reports Recommends Samsung Galaxy S7 Over The Apple Iphone 8 by sainttobs(op): 9:21pm On Oct 27, 2017
We all know very well that Consumer Reports as being a trustworthy and exempt source when it comes to recommending purchases from American consumers. Already on several occasions, it was beaten against the giants of the industry, leading them to improve their products. Now according to the current list, it recommends Samsung Galaxy S7 over the Apple iPhone 8.

Consumer Reports Recommends Samsung Galaxy S7 Over The Apple iPhone 8

Everyone knows Consumer Reports as being a trustworthy and exempt source when it comes to recommending purchases from American consumers. Already on several occasions, it was beaten against the giants of the industry, leading them to improve their products.

In the latest analysis of smartphones in the market, Consumer Reports gives a preference over the Samsung Galaxy S7 and not the tech giant Apple’s iPhone 8.

After reviewing existing smartphone market proposals, Consumer Reports has established a list of recommended devices in order of preference based on various factors of daily use.

At the top of that list are the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, with 81 points out of 100 possible, followed by the iPhone 8 and the Samsung Galaxy S7, both with 80 points. With this same score are also the Galaxy Note 8 and the LG G6.

Despite these similar notes, the Consumer Reports recommendation ends up falling for Samsung’s product and not on Apple’s new smartphone, of course, the iPhone 8.

The reason presented for this choice that many consider to be unreasonable was based on 2 simple but important factors. According to Consumer Reports, the Galaxy S7 has better sound quality in the phone calls and a better autonomy than the iPhone 8.

Curiously, the Consumer Reports recommendation also puts the Galaxy Note 8 below these two devices, being only the third choice in this score range.

Launched just over a month ago, iPhone 8 sales appear not to be the ones Apple and analysts expected. In part, the blame lies on the iPhone X, which will arrive within days and for many is the most successful option to purchase.

This recommendation will also have a negative impact since Consumer Reports has a large weight among consumers in the US.

Webmasters5 Beginning Blogging Mistakes You Are Probably Making by sainttobs(op): 8:24pm On Oct 26, 2017
Congratulations! You’ve decided to join the ranks of bloggers. You’re going to love it! Before you get too far into it, though, I’d like to help you avoid some common beginning blogging mistakes. These mistakes are almost a rite of passage, but why waste that time with mistakes you can easily avoid?
1. Auto-loading music.

Please. I beg you, your readers beg you: ditch the auto-loading music! Auto-loading music is not only annoying and surprising, but it’s a bandwidth hog. It makes your blog load slowly. Do you really want to lose a reader because she couldn’t wait for your site to load? And if she waits for your site to load, will she be annoyed because she didn’t know there would be music, accidentally had her speakers on high, and a sleeping husband (or child) right beside her? I can tell you this: She won’t be back.
2. Using a design with a dark background & light text.

This issue is less about your aesthetic (though that is part of it) and more about usability and readability. Reading online is harder on our eyes than reading traditional paper. Using a dark background with light text makes it even harder on your readers’ eyes.
3. Too much sidebar clutter.

A sleek, uncluttered design goes a long way with readers. The less clutter, the more white space you have. You can use this white space to help lead your readers’ eye toward specific content. Your images and headlines will stand out more.
Blogging, Typing, Wordpress, Macbook
Are you proud of your awards, badges, and various trinkets and show them off on your sidebar? That’s OK, those things are a rite of passage too. You don’t have to get rid of them, but why not put awards on their own page and link to it from your main page? You’ll trade 20 links for just one link and de-clutter the sidebar. De-cluttering your sidebar eases navigation for your reader. When there are fewer items competing for your reader’s attention, they’ll be drawn to what’s important.

4. Accidental plagiarism (even with photos).

Very few legitimate bloggers plagiarize on purpose. Most likely a new blogger won’t realize what they’re doing (but that doesn’t make it OK). Plagiarism applies to using any content that isn’t originally yours, whether it’s words, photography, music, pictures, or anything else.

Many new bloggers will Google a picture, then save it and use it in a blog post. That’s plagiarism — even if you cite where you found the picture — because you haven’t asked the owner if you can use it.

So take a minute to find out about and understand the issues of plagiarism and copyright.

What about your words being used without your permission? You can check to see if anyone has copied your content with Copyscape.
5. Using “click here” instead of keyword phrases for links.
Choose your link words carefully. When you are writing a post and need to insert a link, consider how you are going to write that sentence and where you will include the link. For example, which of these is more effective (potential links in bold)?

The top sentence is more effective because it has a keyword phrase that helps with SEO and is more descriptive for readers. The words “click here” or even just the word “here” linked to other files or pages are everywhere on the web. When was the last time you did a search for “click here”?

What would you add to his list?

Science/TechnologyThis New Ransomware Attack Rapidly Spreading Across Globe by sainttobs(op): 8:07pm On Oct 25, 2017
We all know very well that whenever we think of concepts used to damage computers, you think that what is being used to perpetuate the attack. In this case, we are dealing with malicious entity software or in a basic word you can say a Ransomware that encrypts the content stored on your computer or blocks your access.

This New Ransomware Attack Rapidly Spreading Across Globe

Whenever you think of concepts used to damage computers, you think that what is being used to perpetuate the attack. In this case, we are dealing with malicious entity software that encrypts the content stored on your computer or blocks your access. This attack calls for a rescue, hence the term ransom, which means rescue, to decrypt or unlock such files.

The most well-known case, which happened just a few months ago and mentioned earlier, is WannaCry. But it has not been the only one to infect millions of computers throughout history.
Bad rabbit

According to the website Securlist, owned by Kaspersky Lab, yesterday, October 24, 2017, were arriving warnings of massive attacks with a common denominator, the name of Bad Rabbit. This ransomware seems to have affected both individuals and businesses and, above all, has been spread by Russia, although there have also been known cases of infection in Ukraine.

In addition, the attacks are affecting larger areas, according to information provided by the BBC, such as three Russian websites, an airport in Ukraine and part of the underground transport of the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.

According to statements by Ilya Sachkov, head of the Russian cybersecurity company Grupo-IB: “In one of the companies, the work has been completely paralyzed. Servers and workstations are encrypted.”

As with the rest of the rescue attacks, Bad Rabbit encrypts the files on the infected computers and, thanks to data obtained from the British media The Independent, we know that the amount that is being requested is 0.05 bitcoins, at the exchange $282.

Given how current technology serves as the basis for the unwanted access of anonymous hackers and even government entities, it seems appropriate to remind you of some of the problems you may face as a private individual and facing large companies. For example, the existence of Trojans is one of the current headaches in the banking sector because of the possibility of compromising the data and current accounts of its clients.

The espionage methods used by the NSA are already in the public domain. As well explained in a BBC article, this is also done in a completely legal way and covered by a Law of 2008 that in its article 702 exposes the right of access and storage of private conversations of US citizens in relation to objectives foreign.

Even in the last weeks, we have been able to know how it was possible, with the necessary knowledge, to be able to access those router with the WPA2 security system, being close to it. The implications were very worrying since any device that was connected to one of these infected routers was susceptible to be monitored, with the consequent exposure of data such as account numbers, passwords or simply personal images stored in our devices.
Future implications

It appears that the virus is spreading to other countries in Europe, according to TechCrunch, such as Turkey and Germany. So, what do you thin about this? Simply share your views and thoughts in the comment section below.

PhonesSamsung Distributes Free Galaxy Note 8 To ALL 200 Passengers On A Flight by sainttobs(op): 7:59pm On Oct 25, 2017
We all know very well that a year ago, many people were told that they could not fly with their Samsung Galaxy Note 7, as it was predisposed to fire. However, now, the South Korean giant Samsung itself giving away free Galaxy Note 8 to air passengers in an attempt to tell the world that its latest Note 8 is safe.

Samsung Distributes Free Galaxy Note 8 To ALL 200 Passengers On A Flight

The South Korean giant Samsung has surprised 200 passengers of the Iberia IB514 flight from A Coruna to Madrid with the gift to each of them of the Galaxy Note 8, its mobile star, valued at $1190. With this initiative, the Korean brand takes another step to wash away the bad corporate image of its previous model Galaxy Note 7, which had to be withdrawn from the market and was strictly prohibited on board in flights for the danger of internal combustion.

The passengers who got on the Iberia plane this morning began to suspect that they were going to be the object of an advertising action as the device was adorned with messages from the brand and the campaign “Welcome aboard Galaxy Note 8”, which the Korean manufacturer and the airline have been launching for a few weeks, and the commander went to all the passengers to confirm that they were the protagonists of a very special action.

The problems of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, some of whose batteries caught fire to destroy the device, were a hard blow to the image of the Korean brand. The airlines did not take long to react and in September of last year, they forbade that no passengers would get on board with the device.

The alarm jumped due to the incidents of this devices on board a plane in the United States, with supposedly revised units, which motivated a chain reaction of virtually all airlines that prohibited not only that the device on board, but also not allowed in checked baggage that is loaded in the holds.
Prohibition on flights

Iberia added to this prohibition and warned before the flight began the express prohibition of this model. A year later, the airline of IAG has signed a campaign with Samsung to sell the goodness of Galaxy Note 8, whose sales have surpassed the most optimistic forecasts, according to the Korean brand

Within the campaign, all passengers who took the Aerial Bridge between Madrid and Barcelona from October 2 to 6 enjoyed on board – courtesy of both companies – a coffee or tea with the snack. The same happened with flights to Bilbao, Granada, and Jerez.

“Today’s delivery comes to complete this campaign that has tried to turn everything that happened a year ago to take advantage of a support as important as the planes when addressing their customers,” Samsung said in a note.

Technology MarketBitcoin Breaks Above $6,000 & $100 Billion For The First Time In Its History by sainttobs(op): 9:23pm On Oct 24, 2017
Recently, the reports from CoinDesk shows that the digital currency Bitcoin surpassed the $6,000 mark on 23rd October, Monday. The market value of Bitcoin also exceeded $100 billion.

Bitcoin Breaks Above $6,000 & $100 Billion For The First Time In Its History

If you remember, in the month of September, Bitcoin the digital currency suffered a significant fall. Almost 40% in just two weeks, from about $5,000 to around $3,000.

Well, just a few days ago we have also seen Bitcoin beating its historical record above the $5,200. Well, a few days ago, the cryptocurrency reached the value of $5,200 for the first time in the history.

The value of the Digital currency is rapidly increasing and almost touched $6,000. Recently, the reports from CoinDesk shows that the digital currency Bitcoin surpassed the $6,000 mark on 23rd October, Monday.

The market value of Bitcoin also exceeded $100 billion. So, with at $6,000 a coin, the Bitcoin inventor Satoshi would be worth $5.9 billion which puts him at number 247 on Forbes’ list of world’s richest people.

In Forbes’s list of world’s richest people, Satoshi would be ahead of some big names like Wal-Mart’s heirs Ann Walton Kroenke and Samsung’s Jay Lee. According to the reports from Quartz, Satoshi Nakamoto would have an estimated 980,000 bitcoins.

Well, Cryptocurrencies are extremely volatile, so these reports are risky and exaggerated. Cryptocurrencies are no stranger to fluctuations in prices. So, what do you think about this? Share your views in the comment box below.

WebmastersThis New Rapidly-growing Botnet Threatens To Take Down The Internet by sainttobs(op): 12:41am On Oct 24, 2017
If you thought ‘Mirai’ was the culmination of the damage that a network of bots could cause to companies and organizations around the world, you may want to think about it again. As millions of connected devices could be used soon to end Internet. And no, it’s not an exaggeration or the plot of a new action movie.

This New Rapidly-Growing Botnet Threatens To Take Down The Internet

If you thought ‘Mirai’ was the culmination of the damage that a network of bots could cause to companies and organizations around the world, you may want to think about it again. Around a million companies have already been infected by a new botnet that has the potential to “eliminate the Internet” if its creators want.

This is confirmed by the researchers at CheckPoint, who see in this new cyber threat the same potential of ‘Mirai’ to launch computer attacks (as denial-of-service campaigns -DDoS-) on a large scale, but with a level of sophistication and speed of expansion much greater than we knew until now.

This network mainly enslaves connected devices belonging to the Internet of Things, such as routers and remote cameras. Experts at the end of September detected a “growing number of attempts” to exploit the vulnerabilities of this class of objects in order to add them to this network.

In this sense, these faults allowed to infect wireless IP cameras from manufacturers such as GoAhead, D-Link, TP-Link, Avtech, Netgear, Mikrotik, Linksys or Synology, among others.

All this against the background, as we anticipated, of the disaster that the botnet ‘Mirai’ caused just a year ago, in October 2016. At that time, this network of bots took advantage of the computing capacity of the different infected computers to leave out of service to major US online services, from Netflix to Twitter, through the Reddit portal.

A variant of this threat, which emerged a few months later – in November of last year – also allowed the luxury of disconnecting up to 900,000 routers from Deutsche Telekom in what was an impressive campaign to leave millions of users offline.

PhonesGoogle Pixel 2 XL Teardown Reveals What’s Inside by sainttobs(op): 2:01am On Oct 23, 2017
We all know very well that recently, the tech giant Google launched its new flagship smartphones, of course, Google Pixel 2 and the Google Pixel 2 XL. And today In this article I will show you the full teardown of Google Pixel 2 XL which will reveal all the inner contents and components of Google Pixel 2 XL.

Google Pixel 2 XL Teardown Reveals What’s Inside

The tech giant Google’s Pixel 2 XL may not come so soon to all countries, but it has received good ratings and even has the first mobile chip of the tech giant Google.

As always after a major release, the iFixit decided to disassemble the tech giant Google’s Pixel 2 XL to find out what is inside: an inactive processor, some standardized screws and relatively easy to maintain.

The opening is made from the front. Typically, a waterproof smartphone has a shell filled with glue to better protect the components of the device, which requires applying heat to the product to open it. But the South Korean giant LG decided to use an adhesive foam that lacks very specific tools, which is good!

After opening the Pixel 2 XL, experts from iFixit saw a magnesium alloy protection and below it the components: a 3520 mAh battery from LG, Pixel Imprint fingerprint sensor and various chips, such as a 4 GB LPDDR4 memory from the South Korean giant Samsung, an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor and a 64GB flash memory, which is also manufactured by the South Korean giant Samsung.

The most interesting chip is unobtrusive, showing only the SR3HX X726C502 code. It is Pixel Visual Core, the tech giant Google’s mobile chip that processes HDR+ images up to five times faster and consumes 1/10 of the energy of the Snapdragon 835 SoC.

However, for now, the processor is inactive: it will be enabled with the latest update of Android 8.1 Oreo when third-party applications can use the Pixel 2 HDR+ algorithm.

A novelty of the Pixel 2 XL is the pressure sensor, which detects when you “squeeze” the sides of the device to activate the tech giant Google’s Personal Assistant, of course, Google Assistant.

iFixit says that it works by means of a pair of sensors connected to voltage meters that modify their resistances when they are “deformed”; this causes the software to detect the pressures.

Finally, iFixit gave a 6/10 mark on reparability for the Pixel 2 XL – the same as the iPhone 8 Plus and above the 4/10 for Galaxy S8, but below the 7/10 for Pixel XL. On the positive side, the fact that many components are modular and the bolts are standardized facilitates maintenance; however, the battery is harder to remove, and the display cable is tighter, increasing labor time.

So, what do you think about this? Simply share your views and thoughts in the comment section below.

ComputersGoogle Pixelbook Specs And Price by sainttobs(op): 12:47am On Oct 22, 2017
Google PixelBook appears to be a contender against the likes of the Microsoft Surface and Apple MacBook laptops. The high-end, Chrome-running notebook offers you powerful Intel Core i processors, Google Assistant and ability to run mobile apps.

Google PixelBook Chrome OS Laptop
Design and Display
Judging by the price, the Google PixelBook is not a thing for budget buyers. But does it look attractive enough for the premium users it targets? It tries. You get a convertible design that brings the likes of the Lenovo Yoga to mind. The Google PixelBook comes with a 360-degree hinge that lets you flip the display all the way back.
The 2-in-1 features a backlit, chiclet style keyboard, which one may say outdoes those of a Microsoft Surface or the Apple MacBook. Its 12.3-inch display has a high resolution of 2,400 x 1,600 pixels. The sharp touchscreen supports an optional Pen with 2,000 levels of pressure sensitivity.
Hardware and Software
The Google PixelBook is nothing like what you usually get from a Chromebook in terms of hardware. It packs more punch with an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. The Core i5 offerings come with 8GB RAM while the highest-end model boasts 16GB RAM. Onboard storage ranges from 128 GB to 512 GB.
Some users will likely find it disappointing that a 2-in-1 this costly runs on the lightweight Chrome OS. The Google PixelBook runs applications in the cloud. You can also install and run Android apps on the hybrid.
Other Specs and Features
The 10.3mm, ultra-slim PixelBook features two USB Type-C ports. You can use these to charge the 41Wh battery that Google claims will last up to 10 hours on a charge. The company says you get enough power to last up to two hours fromjus15-minute charging.
The hybrid supports Google Assistant, which you will be able to activate with a single tap on a dedicated button. You can type in your requests into the tool or use “OK, Google” commands. Google PixelBook also has support for Assistant activation on the optional Pen.

Pricing and Availability
The price of the Google PixelBook starts at $999 in the United States for the model with 128GB SDD. For $1199, you can buy the model with 256GB. Later in the year, for $1649 the Google PixelBook will also offer an option of 16GB RAM, 512GB SDD, and 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor. Learn More

Science/TechnologyGoogle’s AI Can Create Code Better Than The Researchers Who Made It by sainttobs(op): 12:40am On Oct 21, 2017
Create Code Better Than The Researchers Who Made It

We all know very well that today how machines are able to teach machines. Recently, a system broke a record to categorize images by their content (marking a positive score to 82%). In basic words, the tech giant Google’s AI can now create code better than the researchers who made it.

Google’s AI Can Create Code Better Than The Researchers Who Made It

In May 2017, the tech giant Google unveiled its project AutoML: an artificial intelligence (AI) designed to create other AI even more powerful. Now the tech giant Google has announced that AutoML has once again pushed Machine Learning’s (Machine Learning) capabilities to the limit: researchers have developed a learning software that is able to create its own learning software, which would be even more powerful than the best systems designed by the researchers.

Today, machines are able to teach machines. Recently, a system AutoML broke a record to categorize images by their content (marking a positive score to 82%). Although a relatively straightforward task, AutoML has also defeated a Man-made system to a more complex task as an integral part of autonomous robots and augmented reality: marking the location of multiple objects in a single image. For this task, AutoML scored 43%, compared to 39% for humans. These results are significant, as even at Google, few people have the expertise to design new-generation AI systems.

A rare set of skills is needed to automate this area, but once this is the case, the entire industry will change. “Today, these machines are handcrafted by machine learning scientists and literally only a few thousand scientists around the world have the skills to do so,” said the tech giant Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai. “We want to enable hundreds of thousands of developers to be able to do that,” he added.

AutoML designs a base model and analyzes the results and performance of the model. This allows it to make corrections on this basic model and improve it. This operation is repeated several thousand times and each new prototype is more efficient than the previous one. As a result, new prototypes are becoming more intelligent and almost self-contained. Such technological prowess marks the real beginning of a new mode of operation, which will help advance research in the field of artificial intelligence.

Much of this work involves imitating human neural networks and trying to feed them with more and more data. This is a machine-friendly job once they have been trained to do it.

The most difficult part is that of imitating the structure of the human brain at first (and at appropriate scales) to solve more complex problems. It is even easier to adjust an existing system to meet new needs than to design a whole new network of neurons out of thin air.

However, this research seems to suggest that this may well change in the future: as it becomes easier for existing RNs to design new and more complex systems, it will be important for humans to play a role in the future as “Guardian”.

Indeed, AI systems can easily create accidentally biased connections, such as associating ethnic and gender identities, with negative stereotypes. If engineers spend less time creating these systems, they will have more time for monitoring and refining them.

Although this is still a research project, Google wants to perfect AutoML until it works well enough for programmers to use it for practical applications. If they succeed, AutoML will be very likely to have a great impact well beyond the walls of Google. In addition, Pichai said the company wanted to “democratize this,” explaining that Google wanted to make AutoML available outside their walls.

Science/TechnologyGoogle Will Pay You $1,000 To Hack Android’s Most Popular Apps by sainttobs(op): 12:32am On Oct 21, 2017
Google launched a new program which is known as “Google Play Security Reward” and under this program, Google will pay hackers and researchers $1,000 for finding a glitch in the Android apps

Google Will Pay You $1,000 To Hack Android’s Most Popular Apps

Researchers and hackers here is a good news for you. Google has just released a bug bounty programme after a long wait for finding vulnerabilities in Android applications. Let me tell you, not all apps are covered in the newly launched bug bounty programme: only a few largest and popular app, selected by Google, can be unleashed by the researcher.

Google launched a new program which is known as “Google Play Security Reward” and under this program, Google will pay hackers and researchers $1,000 for finding a glitch in the Android apps that will help Google to make Android community more secure.

So far apps likes, Alibaba, Snapchat, Duolingo, Line, Dropbox, Headspace, Mail.ru and Tinder have managed to make some space in Google’s new Play Security reward program. So, finally, it looks like Google has begun to take the right path to secure their Play Store by offering rewards to independent researchers.

Google on its App Security page stated: “Through the program, we will further improve app security which will benefit developers, Android users, and the entire Google Play ecosystem.”

“For now, the scope is limited to RCE (remote-code-execution) vulnerabilities and corresponding POCs (Proof of concepts) that work on Android 4.4 devices and higher. This translates to any RCE vulnerability that allows an attacker to run code of their choosing on a user’s device without user knowledge or permission.”

This means that well-intentioned hackers, also called white-hat, may have more chances to develop their skills and still try to earn money lawfully. According to Google, if a researcher finds a vulnerability, he/she needs to report it to the developer of the app. After the app is fixed, the researcher needs to submit the bug report to Google Play Security Reward program.

PhonesBest Android Phones You Can Buy In Nigeria For Less Than 100K by sainttobs(op): 4:23am On Oct 20, 2017
As exciting as picking a new smartphone is, it is a very daunting task. Getting a new device is very exhilarating. It’s like going into a new relationship with someone you found who you really like.

Like “that special someone” this new smartphone is something that would “complete you” (in some way) for a given period and it’s something you will spend a whole lot of time with every single day until you both part ways.
Hence for something this delicate, it would be grossly unwise to settle for just about anything. Drilling through the ton of budget smartphones available in the Nigerian market today is very stressful and tiring. Also, the technical jargon (or what techies call specifications) sometimes make no sense to you and can be confusing. That is why I have provided this; the ultimate guide to choosing your next smartphone. With this guide you will cut down on your hunt time as well as get nothing but quality tailored to your present budget.
I am going to be dividing this list to three parts so that we can be able to sieve out the shaft from the wheat. The three categories are:

· Android phones less than 50k

· Android phones less than 70k

· Android phones less than 100k

This list is only going to consist of the best you can get at this price. Without any delay lets get started.

Best Android Phones in Nigeria Under ₦70,000
Sure thing, ₦70,000 may seem like a lot, but when you make the mistake to convert that figure to dollars based on the current parallel market rates, you’d be ashamed of the ₦70k.
The Shame stops there though because, for the smartphones listed below, there would be most certainly nothing to be ashamed of.
These devices possess the premium look and feel of some of their high-end counterparts and although most of their designs will not win awards, you’ll still definitely reap the rewards of carrying them around.

WhatsApp’s Latest Feature Lets You Track Your Friends In Real-Time

If we talk about instant messaging app than WhatsApp stands at the first place. The reason why lots of people love to use WhatsApp and slowly adopting it is that the app is constantly being updated to be with the trends and demands of the users.

From past few months, we have seen the new and amazing features introduced by the WhatsApp. Well, after a few months of testing, WhatsApp is rolling out its local sharing feature globally.

This feature turns out to be very useful because now you can accurately tell where a person should meet you. The live location sharing feature simply gives users the option to share the current location with other users.
The feature runs even when WhatsApp is in the background and it keeps updating the location in real time. Zafir Khan, product manager at WhatsApp told Gadgets 360 “Live location is a way to share your location in a chat and the participants in that chat will then be able to see your real-time location as it updates on a map. [It’s] short-term in nature, it’s limited in duration”

To use this all-new feature make sure to update the app. Then open the chat with a person or group and under “Location” tap on the “Share live location”. This will enable the feature, users can also set a timer for how long they want to share the location.

Everyone you’ve chosen to share your location can see where exactly you are on the map in real time. So, what do you think about this? Share your views in the comment box below.

Science/Technology9 Small Tech Businesses To Invest In by sainttobs(op): 12:48am On Oct 18, 2017
The truth is, anyone with some founder ambitions and business acumen is likely to attract customers who would be willing to part with their money for the value promised. Though, starting and running tech businesses have become more complex, the very first thing you’ll want to figure out is, if you have a market, potential users/customers.

Bottom line: some money+ambition+idea may NOT equal adequate preparedness anymore in the tech business world. But deliberate moves will get you further, whether you’re a technical person or not. In fact, there are lots of scalable small tech businesses to invest in, but we would wager the top nine.

1. Internet Research
Are you a naturally curious person? Then, this business idea is perfect for you. With the vast amount of information available on the Internet, being able to know where to look and validate information is a profitable skill.

2. Blog Consulting
If you are an expert at blogging and love to explore blogging-related issues, a small business as a blog consultant could be a very lucrative business, allowing you to support all types of businesses and bloggers in getting their blogs up and running. Explore if this is the right business idea for you.

3. Data Training
Despite some of the “home-based business” scams that involve data entry work, there are a lot of legitimate opportunities available for data entry businesses. If you are a really good typist with an eye for detail, this may be perfect for you.

4. Computer Repair and Maintenance
Do you have a technical background? Do you understand how computers work? Yes? Then, a small business in computer repair and maintenance service could be a great idea for you. You can cater your services to one operating system, or support all major platforms.
5. IT Support
Understandably, many startups don’t have the budget to afford a full-time, in-house technical support team, making outsourced IT support a potentially lucrative business idea. You can provide network setup and maintenance services, data backup and recovery, and software installation and management. Depending on your clients’ needs, your services can also include security measures and mobile device management.

6. Web Design
Web designing can be profitable business. What more, trained and even self-taught web designers are in high demand in Nigeria. Go for it if you have what it takes to start a web design business.

7. Computer Training
If you are exceptionally savvy with computers, software and other devices, try this out. You can provide services that will not only help others, but boost their comfort level with technology.

8. Video Production
Video production and editing is growing in popularity for all types of businesses in Nigeria. All you need is an understanding of the technology behind video editing and how to use raw video footages to create video flows. A video production business is one great small business idea to consider.

9. Social Media Consulting
Social media is a powerful marketing tool, particularly for small businesses. If you are a social media expert and love helping others create their own social media presence, then you may be an excellent fit for a social media

KRACK attack works on all modern protected WiFi networks against WPA1 and WPA2. So, it also makes Android, Linux, Apple, Windows, OpenBSD, MediaTek, Linksys and more vulnerable. Researchers have made an attack vector variant in which they found that around 41% of Android devices are affected

KRACK Attack: 41% Of Android Devices Are Easy To Hack

Just a few days ago, we have talked about WPA2 encryption protocol. Researchers have discovered a 13-year-old vulnerability in WPA2 protocol that can allow hackers within a range of the network to extract the Wifi password and intercept Internet traffic.

Researchers have claimed that the vulnerability can be seen in action in the form of a proof-of-concept known as KRACK which is Key Reinstallation Attacks.

Well, let me tell you the KRACK attack works on all modern protected WiFi networks against WPA1 and WPA2. So, it also makes Android, Linux, Apple, Windows, OpenBSD, MediaTek, Linksys and more vulnerable.

However, it looks like almost every supported device and operating systems are at risk of KRACK attack. Android and Linux could have far worse consequences compared to other OS because the wpa_supplicant is the WiFi client commonly used on Linux and Android version 6.0+

Researcher Mathy Vanhoef on its website wrote: “Our attack is especially catastrophic against version 2.4 and above of wpa_supplicant, a Wi-Fi client commonly used on Linux”. The researcher found the vulnerability accidentally while he was working on another paper.

Researchers have made an attack vector variant in which they found that around 41% of Android devices are affected which makes it “trivial to intercept and manipulate traffic sent by these Linux and Android device”

According to krackattacks.com, the possible fix for KRACK attack would be backward-compatible with older implementations of WPA2. Krackattacks.com also mentions that changing the passwords of Wifi network will not prevent the attack.

Further, Vanhoef has advised home users to update their WiFi compatible devices including computers and phones. He also suggested disabling features like client mode and 802.11r.

Science/TechnologyApple’s Co-founder Just Launched An Online University by sainttobs(op): 11:54am On Oct 16, 2017
Recently, the Co-Founder of the tech giant Apple has just created an Internet-based training platform for the people who want to graduate with the intention of applying for job offers related to the technology industry.

Apple’s Co-Founder Just Launched An Online University

Steve Wozniak, the tech giant Apple’s co-founder with Steve Jobs, has just created Woz U – an Internet-based training platform for people who want to graduate with the intention of applying for job offers related to the technology industry.
Woz U, the educational platform of Steve Wozniak

Steve Wozniak (known as Woz) is a key piece in the creation and history of Apple, along with Steve Jobs, and in the mid-seventies created the computers Apple I and Apple II. But after his departure from the Cupertino company, he has had many initiatives, some of them related to philanthropy.

Now, with Woz U, he wants to provide many people with a “new approach” Internet training platform for people interested in applying for jobs related to the technology industry. As VentureBeat emphasizes, this platform will be – in principle – totally “online”.

In effect, its curriculum will focus on training tools for IT specialists and software developers or programmers (.Net, JavaScript, Ruby, Java, and Python), but with the intention of expanding into other areas such as security computing, mobile application development, and Big Data.

According to Wozniak, the objective of this platform is to provide fundamental tools for those who have the desire to acquire computer skills, such as programming, and do not have to make large investments in the teaching process.

It is important to note that Woz also has stated the intention to create a physical space that will materialize this platform, but later, he said. For now, the platform is nothing more than a mobile application where you can take an aptitude test and select people with the “best fit” technology career.

Finally, as highlighted by CNET, the program will not be free, and as the source was able to know, tuition will vary according to the curriculum and certainly will not be as expensive as a university or an educational platform with high tariffs.

Science/TechnologyKonga Online Shopping – Honest Comprehensive Review by sainttobs(op): 8:43pm On Oct 13, 2017
Good day friends, today we are going to be doing a comprehensive review of Konga.com, one of Nigeria’s Top Online Shopping Mall. In this review we are going to be checking out their Platform, Order Process, Delivery Process, Product Reliability, Return Back Policy and most importantly their Customer Care Service

I am going to make this review as unbiased as possible. So sit back and relax let’s go over all you need to know before you buy anything on Konga.com. Konga.com’s alexa rank is 3,895 worldwide and 20 in Nigeria as at 7th of October, 2017. This shows that the site is very popular and has lots of users.

Konga.com is Nigeria’s very own online shopping mall, founded in 2012 by Sim Shagaya. It’s headquarters is in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria. Unlike Jumia and Kaymu, Konga only offers delivery services in Nigeria. Konga.com is a customer-friendly platform to shop for electronic gadgets, mobile phones, baby care products, fashion products, home appliances, books and general goods. Since its founding Konga has ground to become one of the major online shopping malls in Nigeria.

PLATFORM

Konga.com is built on the award-winning Magento software and features a very friendly user interface with cataloging and good product classification. It lets you figure low quality items seller on the spot by looking at their products quality, deliver-ability and communication efficiency all displayed at the top right sidebar. The platform like every e-commerce platform out there has the review tab where you can see the reviews from other buyers before deciding to go with a particular item. But you should know that you probably won’t see any negative review there, they keep those hidden which is why I am doing this review to get you informed on all you need to know (the good, the bad and the ugly). There is also the mobile app for Android, iOS, Blackberry10 and tablet devices that lets you shop with ease on your cell phone, tablet and PDA(s)

DEALS AND PROMO CODES

Konga.com does have a page dedicated to daily discount page where genuine products are offered for sale at discounted amount. Promo codes(coupon/discount codes) are offered from time to time to their e-mail subscribers . I have personally used some of their discounts and can confirm that they really work as advertised. Konga.com is usually opened for holiday deals such as the Black Friday yakata sales, religious holiday sales and 5% price reduction on products purchased via their KongaPay mobile banking platform.

ORDER PROCESS

To order for a product on Konga, you can simply visit their their website here and search for the product of your choice from the numerous categories. You can buy items such as mobiles, electronics, computers, watches, beauty and personal care products, baby toys and kids products, home appliances, books, movies, games and consoles, offices, schools, groceries and household items on Konga. So basically you can get all you need on Konga. After placing an order you will receive a call from Konga to confirm you order and you can choose to pay on delivery. The product will typically be delivered between 1-7 days depending on your location. The prices of products on Konga are sometimes cheaper than on other e-commerce sites and they do offer generous discounts. This is one reason why I do patronize them. Lastly there have been some complains that the product displayed on Konga’s website is different from the product delivered. We will come to this issue later.

DELIVERY PROCESS/TIME

Typically for buyers in Lagos you will get your products delivered the next day buy sometimes it might extend that. According to Konga’s website the standard delivery time is 7days but this may differ depending on your location. The products will be delivered right to your doorstep or whichever address you chose when placing the order. If you live in Lagos you can get your product delivered the same day. You can chose to pay on delivery if you like( I would recommend this).

PRODUCT RELIABILITY

As I said earlier there have been cases where the product delivered was different from the product that was displayed on the Website. Sometimes the difference may just be in the color of the product but at times the specification of the device may be different. For example, a friend of mine once placed an order for a Lenovo Laptop B50-45, AMD E1 6010, Dual Core 1.35GHZ processor, 320HD, and 4GB RAM which he paid for on delivery, only for him to later find out that it is not a Dual Core system. If you have problems like this and you are not satisfied with the product you can call Konga and request for a refund. Another case was when I order for an Infinix Hot 4 phone, after using it for about 3 weeks the phone overheated and went blind on me. Immediately I requested for a refund, and used the money to order another product.

Now don’t get too discouraged about buying on Konga, in the 7 times I have bought products from Konga only twice have I personally experienced getting a substandard product. This cannot be said for some of the other e-commerce sites I have used. The good thing is that if a substandard product is delivered to you, you can return it back. You can check reviews and ratings of certain sellers on Konga’s site which will help you to identify the reliable sellers. I would recommend you choose to pay on delivery so as to be able to check the products well before paying. I think Konga has to check those that sell on their site better as some of them sell fake, refurbished products.

RETURN BACK POLICY

Konga has a return back policy for products which you do not like. Either the products are substandard, or it is different from what you ordered. You can ask them to come and get their products back and you get a refund. Konga has a 7day return back policy.

For return to be valid, the buyer must ensure that:

· The items are returned with all the original packaging and accessories

· The damage was not done due to misuse of the product

· The item is in the original condition and has not been used or installed

· The buyer has not tampered with or lost the serial/UPC (universal Product Code) numbers

There have been cases where a product was returned and getting a refund becomes a problem. Read the experience of one of our users concerning the Konga Return Back policy.

“I bought a Tecno A7 dual sim phone from Konga. Upon inserting the two sim card, only one card was recognized. I made frantic efforts to get to Konga and all I get is ‘Please be patient, we are working on it.’ I was told I will be contacted in 48 hours. I called again the next day and a lady told me to pack the phone and take it to their pick up center. I was contacted in 5 days and I got my refund in a week.” This is the experience of John, a regular reader of 9jatechguru who I asked to send me his experience using Konga.

This shows that the Konga return policy does work, several other of my friends have returned products to Konga and got their refund back usually between 1 – 2 weeks. The basic thing is that once you notice a fault with a product call their customer care immediately to return back the product and get your refund.

CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE

This is perhaps the most important part of any business, most especially and online business. This is because transaction is not done physically and a certain amount of trust is needed to be able to do business successfully with your customers online. For a e-commerce website like Konga, customer service is the soul of the business. If the customer service agents are rude and unhelpful customers are not likely to come back. But with polite and helpful customer service you can calm the frayed nerves of your customers and put their fears to rest making them trust your business more.

I would rate Konga’s customer service fairly well because most of the times I have used their service, their customer service have been helpful. They provide assistance and are most times reliable. Although there are bound to be exceptions I think overall Konga’s customer service is very good.

PhonesSamsung Galaxy Note 9 To Feature On-screen Fingerprint Reader by sainttobs(op): 4:51am On Oct 11, 2017
We all know very well that recently, the tech giant Apple presented iPhone X with a facial recognition scanner. But everyone was waiting for this new Apple mobile with a fingerprint reader under the screen. However, now the reports are indicating that Samsung Galaxy Note 9 could feature the On-Screen fingerprint reader.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 To Feature On-Screen Fingerprint Reader

The iPhone X was presented last September 12 with a facial recognition scanner. But everyone was waiting for this new Apple mobile with a fingerprint reader under the screen. Something that could count the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
Fingerprint reader under the screen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9

That is what we have known now thanks to one of many analysts who venture to advance the future of different devices and devices from different manufacturers, usually the most quoted.

In this case he has been one of the most active in the sector, Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI, who has ventured to advance a function that would count the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and that precisely was shuffling until the end for the iPhone X, and which is partly responsible for the delay suffered by the new flagship of the Cupertino, of course, the tech giant Apple.

We are talking about the fingerprint reader under the screen, which has been speculating not only on the iPhone X for the past few months but also on other flagship Android. In fact, according to this analyst, there are already three companies that are already competing for the commission to manufacture these fingerprint readers under the screen of the device.

This means that we could continue to identify ourselves by fingerprint just by pressing a zone of the screen, since this would integrate into the bottom of the panel, under the screen.

According to this analyst the company BeyondEyes and the South Korean giant Samsung subsidiary, Samsung LSI, would have already sent sample materials to begin testing this technology. The third in discord would be Egis.

The technology that would use the South Korean giant Samsung would be different than the one that shuffled the tech giant Apple with Synaptics since in this case would be based on that the OLED screen could be deformed to be used like a light source for the own fingerprint reader.

Although mobile manufacturers increasingly choose 3D identification, we are sure that many would still prefer an invisible fingerprint reader integrated into the screen. For this reason, we ask you how you prefer to unlock the mobile phone with facial identification or fingerprint reader under the screen? Simply share your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below.
