For now this application is only available for iOS in preview in the United States, however, it has already been announced that it will be released in the coming months for Android, where it will be present in the Google Play Store and the Amazon App Store.

The number of mobile broadband 5G subscriptions will reach 1,000 million in 2023, according to the latest edition of Ericsson’s ‘Mobility Report’, which indicates that the coverage of this technology, which will begin in the densest urban areas, will arrive in more than 20% of the world population that same year.


The report anticipates that the first commercial networks based on 5G New Radio will be operational in 2019, although the large deployments will take place after 2020. In its opinion, the United States, South Korea, Japan and China will be the first markets to deploy the 5G.



Specifically, Ericcson points out that in 2023 5G will represent 37% of subscriptions in the United States and 34% in Northeast Asia, while in Western Europe the new mobile technology will represent 16% of the total that year.


In this line, the study indicates that the LTE technology will reach in 2023 the 5,500 million subscriptions and its coverage will reach 85% of the world population. In addition, it will close 2017 as the dominant mobile access technology.


Moreover, Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology has already been launched in more than 125 networks in more than 60 countries and in 2023 it will reach 5,500 million subscriptions, equivalent to more than 80% of all LTE and 5G subscriptions.


However, apart from all these things, after the massive explosion of 4G LTE network in India last year, now the Indian consumers have been eagerly looking at faster Internet connections. Hence, to fulfil the needs of users, Ericsson has recently, demonstrated their test bed for 5G network in India.

According to Reuters, on Wednesday in a statement in the US District Court in San Diego, the tech giant Apple filed its response to Qualcomm’s complaint on its own charges. Apple claims it has at least eight battery life patents that Qualcomm violated.


The patents that Apple claims to be infringing involve ensuring that every part of a phone’s processor extracts only the minimum power required, turning off portions of the processor when they are not needed, thereby allowing the “sleep and wake” functionality to work best.

According to what is being shown, the tech giant Apple began to look for these patents before Qualcomm also sought them and now accuses Apple of infringing them. One interpretation of this would be that Apple was willing to let the infringements slip until Qualcomm made its claims against Apple.


Thus, it seems that Qualcomm is about to find itself on the losing side of this battle against Apple. The FTC described Qualcomm as a monopolist and other technology companies are on Apple’s side. Also, the Taiwan Fair Trading Commission said the same last month.

However, with Nigeria’s economic situation, the CBN’s harsh clampdown on bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have been met with some stiff resistance. And though, it’s been about ten months since the ban, the question remains –is bitcoin worth investing in?


What is Bitcoin?


Bitcoin is the first ever decentralized digital currency, created and held electronically. No one controls it. Bitcoins aren’t printed like naira, dollars or euros – they’re produced by people using software that solves mathematical problems. Its most important characteristic is that it is decentralized as no single institution controls the bitcoin network.

Among all the huge array of functions that the well-known and most used instant messaging application WhatsApp has – and that continue to increase month by month to be always updated – one of the fastest ones that have become favourites is undoubtedly the audio notes.


The fact is that the enormous ease that voice messages provide when communicating when we are in a hurry or we can not hold the phone with both hands to write a text, has been the key. But if they have a defect, this is precisely the interface and way to send them.



As the well-known and most used instant messaging application, WhatsApp has introduced two new features, the first one is that now you can watch YouTube videos within app while chatting and the other one is that now you can record of voice notes without holding down the record button.



As we all know, to send an audio through WhatsApp you have to keep the micro button pressed on the right side of the message interface, and then take the phone close to your mouth. It is precisely this gesture of having to press a button that sometimes causes us to send audio unintentionally, or that we release it and the note does not arrive whole, etc.


Something that the creators of the app have already corrected: now we just have to press the mic button and when in half a second we see a lock on it, slide it up so that the button remains locked and we can record the voice note without having to keep the finger pressed.



The best thing is that this feature has already reached WhatsApp after a trial period, although for now it has done it first in the iOS version for the iPhone, but, we hope that it will soon reach to Android users as well.


Being able to watch YouTube videos on the same WhatsApp is already a fact from a new version that includes this free messaging app that has become indispensable for hundreds of millions of people on the planet.


This is not the only novelty of the messaging app. In fact, you can see that WhatsApp looks closely at its most direct rival, the Russian Telegram, which is always the first to innovate and bring features that the rest copy. So far, if someone sends us a YouTube video on WhatsApp, the app registers it as a link that opens in the YouTube app itself or in a browser. Samsung Patents On-Screen Fingerprint Scanner For Galaxy S9

Once the fingerprint sensor and the iris and face recognition sensors have been introduced for unlocking, the next major war is the introduction of the sensor below the screen.

After a few tries and some prototypes, the South Korean giant Samsung has patented its technology for this purpose. Manufacturers are continually looking to improve the usability of their devices, as well as the ease and security of their unlock.

The first layer of the screen will then consist of a layer of glass, followed by the fingerprint sensor, the touch panel, the display and finally the pressure sensor.

The activation of the fingerprint sensor will then be done only from a certain level of pressure, with 12 distinct points scattered across the screen for this recognition. The area of action of this technology should be the full screen.

Bitcoin rose above the symbolic $10,000 threshold for the first time on Wednesday, bringing its rise for the year to date to more than 900 per cent. The price of the cryptocurrency edged above $10,000 on Coinbase, the largest dollar denominated bitcoin exchange, which gave the latest price as $10,052 on Wednesday morning in Asia. Bloomberg data gave the intraday high as $10,058 before easing to $9,999.



Bitcoin was trading at around $1,000 dollars at the beginning of 2017. It hit $9,000 on Sunday. Bitcoin’s soaring price on Monday left some traditional marketplaces “uncomfortable” with the volume and volatility of trading in the cryptocurrency after it jumped above $9,000.


Bitcoin’s 2017 price surge has been more than ten-fold, including a more than 50% jump since October. These startling numbers have raised fresh warning signs about the sustainability of the rally.

Bitcoin mania has shifted into higher gear as of late, with prices gaining more than 21% since Friday alone. According to analysts at WSJ, market participants are enjoying bitcoin’s volatility in a low-interest rate environment.

At present, South Korea is one of the most laissez faire jurisdictions for trading and holding cryptocurrency. The same cannot be said for neighboring China, which has outlawed cryptocurrency trading all together.

The social network giant Facebook introduced its AI-based suicide prevention tools for the first time earlier this year. But until now, that ‘software’ required that a user or one of his/her friends, seek help in this regard.

Now, the social network giant Facebook itself ensures that the technology has reached the point where it can intervene proactively when it detects that someone is at risk of self-harm or committing suicide.

From now on, when the system identifies publications or transmissions of Facebook Live that “could be expressing thoughts of suicide”, these ‘posts’ can be sent to specially trained reviewers of the social network, who in turn can contact teams of the first answer.

“The goal of all this is that our proactive detection can be activated even before anything has been reported,” says Facebook’s vice president of product management, Guy Rosen.
