Is it the fear of loneliness that drives people together, followed by mutual dependence (companionship/money), mutual commitments (kids/family).

The above does not suggest the deep down people are unhappy but without being mutually dependent and or sharing mutual commitments, can their be such a thing as "love"?

Layi if you are a slave, essentially, you are without free will. Your master can force you to kill, steal, have sex (rape) or do anything. Your will becomes your masters. You  have life but no free will except for that which your Master grants.
To enslave a person is to coerce them to act against their will for their life. It is one or the other. Complete free autonomy over ones life or not... for the purpose of survival. They are separable.
So again... which should come first?

For a long time now i have not stood under the banner of Christianity mainly because two Christians can have completely opposing views on whether it is OK to kill or not and both use the same bible to support their stance (and other things like that). It just seems pointless.

The man known as Jesus adopted a philosophy which basically suggests that Free Will is more important than anything even life itself.
He went on to demonstrate his philosophy by using his free will to put his life before his values.

Some people fully believe that "A man that puts his life before his free will, is already a slave to anybody that dare take it." and "A man that puts a vice before his free will, is already a slave to anybody that dare harm it.".

Please bear in mind the following statements:

"Free Will is there to protect man from his vices". (IE man has the free will to avoid them)
"Mans vices are: Pride, Greed, Envy, Sloth, Gluttony, Lust and Anger".

MY QUESTION IS THIS: Which is more improtant Life or Free Will?

vexxy the mistake many people make is assuming that disobeying gods will is in their free will. free will is the ability to follow gods rules regardless of one own life.

serial killers are mentally handicap. there has never been an instance when an entire region of people or nation were all mentally handicap or just plain serial killers and decided to mobilise a military attack on unarmed peaceful people. every WAR or invasion in all of history, has been for some kind of material gain not because the invaders were all serial killers.

Again any nation that mobilises against another is after material gain, or just plain dominance. motive is always better quality of life at the expense of others.

As for there being evil everywhere, well evil manifest itself when gods rules are broken. It is not a naturally occurring thing - it is a choice. There has never been nor will there ever be "born evil people" just people that choose to disobey god rules.
people that suggest evil is naturally present and not the choice of individuals, are just making excuses to violate gods rules thus be evil themselves.

And please remember, the word of god has been practically everywhere.
so its not like their are any people uninformed about the rules. there is no such thing as savages, we are all born equal remember.
it is the job of the church to spread to word to all. north Korea, Russia, North America, Japan and all. if any individual in any nation disregard the rules.
they will be working outside of gods law for their own purposes and will be punished in due course.
so long as YOU do not put your life before gods law YOU will be fine. It applies to every individual in every region in the world.

Oh come on if America had no weapons and no capability to stop invaders and most importantly no intention to fight (no guns no bombs no army) do you think the japs would bother attacking? No i don't think so.
No population of any region of the earth just wakes up one morning and decides to slaughter anybody.

There can be no war if individuals refuse to fight.
If men choose to use their god given FREE WILL to follow the commandments, they should be prepared to die rather than violate gods laws.
The problem is men choose to live their constructed way of life rather than obey god.
If an invading force came to your country and you didn't fight them, why would they need to kill you?
If they wanted to enslave you, they cant, unless you allow them.
They may threaten your life to comply with their way of life but you do not have to.
Remember one obedience to god is more important to one own life. you cant say that you will do gods will so long as it doesn't infringe of your life.
that would be putting YOUR life before god. no a good idea.
and in most circumstances if you cant force someone to follow you way; if they would rather die than follow you. your only choice is to kill them or leave them be.
if they kill you they violate gods law and will be punished in due course. Although dead the victim will be rewarded with "eternal life" or whatever obedient Christians get.

i don't know how it works in Nigeria, but it appears to me that tipping police is the norm. in America tipping waitresses is essential because they don't earn enough without tips. i assume the Nigerian cops can't live on their wages and that's why the need to solicit cash. So why not tax people fairly and raise cops wages? or are they just greedy people?

Christianity can be used to justify anything. jesus said love thy neighbour and the old testament says an eye for an eye. the bible has it both ways.
Christianity (which by the way is never mentioned in the bible) is without base. there is no core unshakable teaching. everything is up for discussion. there are no solid answers in that book.
being a christian is like having no religion, because anything goes (arguably).

Sorry, but that is where we must agree to disagree vexxy. Because i look at that text an see opportunity for self-appointed rulers to suggest not only that GOD put them in charge, but that any action they take is automatically sanctioned by god and thus unquestionable.

If you really believe that text, then you must believe that EVERY action taken by EVERY world leader, is justified merely because you believe they wouldn't be in power if god didn't want them to be.

I didn't say Murder i said Kill. As far as i am aware there is no differentiation between them in the eyes of Jesus/god. I think the commandment goes something like "DO NOT KILL" full stop.

Soldiers must kill in the name of their Country or Cause. I am lead to believe that Christians are forbidden from killing in the name Jesus/God. So how does this work? (if at all)

Unfortunately i have an obsession.

its my obsession because even when i try not to think about it, i cant help it. most mornings i awake and I'm forced to think about it. when i switch on the television, listen to music, ride the bus or London underground i am reminded of it constantly; then get fixated with it for a while.
I fear this obsession will lead to my downfall. my obsession forces me to consider my integrity as a good man constantly.
presently i am a slave to my obsession.

Evil cannot be created, it is an act. The act of putting ones self before others.

If everyone was selfless then their would be little or no suffering. Thus there would be no need to screw people out of 'their' resources to have a better quality of life.

Unfortunately 'evil' acts are perpetual, unlike selfless or good acts.
