Programming › Re: Help With Django Form by Samcent: 8:16pm On Mar 16, 2019 |
dauddy97: Good day all. I have been learning Django over the weeks now. I found everything simple and easy, the problems I am have are: 1. How to collect Data from the users and same them into the sqlite.db Eg (how we register on nairaland)
2. How Users can modify /edit their Datas
3. How to Delete the users can delete their datas. Kindly shed more lights on these for me. (Like deleting account from nairaland)
Thanks so much To your first question, if what you want is user authentication, I will suggest you use a third party app, like django-registration-redux. You can customize the app by writing your own User object and inherit the base class of the app's user object. To the second question, in your view.py file, when requests.method is not post, get the instance of the user object and serve it using your initial django form. If requests.method == 'post', validate the form and save. Third, get the instance of the user object or profile of user, and pass the delete() function. I hope the above will be of some help. I recommend you read Tango with Django, this book will answer your questions better. |

I do not understand why our close ethnic neighbor want to annex the smaller ethnic groups by force.
I have Igbos as friends both in church and in the community, they do not see the Ika man as Igbo just as the Ika man knows that he is not Igbo.
There is no need for any round table talk to agree on anything. All we need is respect for each other. |
Culture › Re: Aniocha, Ndokwa, Ika And Oshimilli Are All Igbo's. Please Know Your Origin by Samcent: 12:35am On Mar 15, 2019 |
Klinee: All I say is nothing but the truth, Ika people speaks Igbo, answer Igbo name, practice Igbo culture, eat igbo types of food and has zero Bini culture, zero Bini name, zero Bini language (except those closer to Binis), but the fact remains that some of them are not Igbo because they believed that they are not Igbo. Simple!!!!!!! You know nothing about the Ikas. |

preZidO1: I be Ika (Agbor) I can tell you that will are not igbo by ethnicity but will share culture with igbo and bini kingdom. Go and ask our ancestor and your biological father he will tell you that will are ikas, that answer your question because you can reget or act ignorant of what has being pass down by your forefathers all because someone just wake up and presented his opinion. I'm proud ika boy and I preach that anywhere I go to. I'm not inferior to any body. GO ASK OKOWA your Governor God bless you my brother! I have a lot of Igbos as friends and my blood brother is married to an Igbo lady. I can tell you for sure that the Ikas share more cultural similarities with the Binis than with the Igbos. Some of my closest friends during my secondary school days were Igbos. Interestingly, I observed from my interactions with them, whenever I visit their families, that they do not even see the Ika man as TRUE IGBO. Is only when the issue of Biafra comes up that you hear arguments that we are all Igbos. I am proudly Ika. The op is on his/her own. |

If states like Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Osun, Oyo and Kano are doing well in infrastructure then Deltans should be ashamed. EbubeDam: Guy dont quote me, go and check differences between environmental public health and public health proper and stop saying gibberish!!!! Hello, gud afternoon! I have been following your submissions concerning who can be admitted for MPH program in Nigerian universities. I'm sorry your facts are wrong! B.Sc in Biochemistry and Microbiology are FULLY ELIGIBLE to go for MPH. This am very sure of. Note: I am a public health practitioner- Immunization and Vaccine Logistics is my core area. |
Education › Re: Advice: Should I Go For Medicine Or For A Masters? by Samcent: 9:23pm On Jan 05, 2019 |
@op, if you have the PASSION and MEANS, go for medicine.
Biochemistry, microbiology and their siblings are scams as far as present day Nigeria is concerned. I'm talking from experience,.... 2.1 Microbiology. Almost all of my former classmates that are doing VERY WELL today and are still in the country, left the discipline for other pursuits.
May the good LORD will help you to take the right turn. |

Programming › Re: Things you need to know as an upcoming programmer and MY CODING DAIRY by Samcent: 8:12pm On Nov 23, 2018 |
My journey into coding wasn't planned. I have a regular 8am to 4pm public health job that sometimes involve field activities. I found out that data was key in public health decisions, so I decided to learn data analysis /science. I enrolled in a data science course, offered by John Hopkins University on Cousera. The instructors introduced R as fundamental to a successful completion of course. Up to that point, that was 2years ago, I have never written a 'Hello World!' program in my entire life. I was forced to put the course on hold and learn R. I read books and watched lots of YouTube video tutorials. Though frustrating at times, I discovered that I was enjoying the whole experience. I must acknowledge Hadley Wickham, his books and works were the much-needed inspiration for me. While learning R, issues of performance and language wars, mostly on quora, made me to dabble into python. Now, I have fallen in love with python programming language and have decided to swim or sink with it. Long story short, I have moved from R to python and into web app development also. I have a prediction model, though with poor accuracy, built with R on shinyapp. By God's grace, I hope to deploy my first django web app soon. My goal is to write five different web apps in the next five years, one of which should be public health related. My challenge is combining work stress, family and coding. My only regret is that I did not join the programming party much earlier. My shout out to all the programmers on this platform who are helping to inspire others.
Yes, I agree that programming is fun! |

zlantanfan: I disagree on aljazeera, the Israeli propangada they do is enormous they basically are reporting on Gaza every 30mins with a one sideded approach, they have al nakba, and war in June which are current one sideded documentary for Palestine, they keep airing these everyday.
They have enough correspondents in Gaza and all their analyst are Iran sympathetic.
Their only correspondent in Nigeria is Hausa moslem, none of their programs talk about how Islamic terrorists are cancerous but they can tell you so much in far away USA on islamophobia.
I can go on, they have a direct anti Israel script I can't help but agree with you. I saw both documentaries you mentioned, they were just too one sided. They did not capture the views of the Israelis. |

Understand the fundamentals of HTML&CSS. JavaScript is also basic but if u looking for language to align to,pls go 4 PYTHON!. I will never advice anyone to learn php because there's no future on dat language l hear that php is easier to learn than python for web development. Pls, l like to know why some believe there's no future for php. I am learning python-django though, cos of my interest in machine learning. |
Education › Re: Think Twice Before Going For Masters Degree (m.sc) - Vincent Adeoba by Samcent: 4:03pm On Feb 23, 2018 |
Well let me add my 2 cents. Going for a masters with the sole aim of increasing one's chances of getting a job is not advisable except for lecturing jobs and professional programs . I made that mistake and it's arguably one of the biggest mistake I have made so far in life. My present job and the ones before it, none required a masters degree for employment. Work experience and skill acquired count far more than a masters degree. I am already in the process of acquiring skills which I intend to deploy for extra income. Masters degree in itself is not bad, but in present day Nigeria more persons are wondering, who masters epp? |
