On the fifa dataset:
I did some exploratory data analysis which I love to share.

I have categorized the 'potential' variable on a scale of A(90 - 99) to F(40 - 49) for predictive modeling..., like predicting what is the potential of a player based on the input variables.

Please, comments/contributions will be helpful.

I can access the data but manipulating the csv data to achieve what I want to achieve is my problem

am thinking if I can convert the FIFA dataset to sql would solve the issue but then I tried using phpmyadmin to achieve this am the records in that file exceeds the required record that can be imported so if anyone can help me convert this FIFA dataser to an sql file then my problem would be solved thanks in advance

or better still offer a more suitable solution to manipulate the data to show record from a specific datarow when called randomly from the algorithm

I wish I could help, but I am only familiar with r. R has an excellent data wrangling package. Do you want to get a subset of the data?

do in I Internet connection for this.

To install a package you need Internet connection, but once installed, only have to load whenever you want to use which does not require Internet connection. But using the read.csv function doesn't not require any installing or loading, the function is available by default.

1. Creation of a closed domain question answering system
2. Carry out an analysis to determine which player would be highly rated in the coming year since you have access to real data from sofifa.com
3. data visualization of each country, and teams this players play for as some players in a country football also play together in the same team
4. facial recognition of players by using ml algorithm to do so
5.creation of an ultimate team using this real time data to form a team based on ratings among other things
6. Create an algorithm that looks for or creates line of dichotomy between Messi and Ronaldo based on the data available
7. a knowledge based system AI inspired

and much more

but the ideas are unlimited and this is what am talking about using the available data to create things worth it

it's a start and I believe we would get there

Interesting, I can see that it's more of provision of dataset and the task to perform is determined by you.

Well there were several options for exploration in this referenced project. Now depending on what you choose to explore on the dataset cluster analysis might also come in handy, but for the most part, it's a classufication problem.

You can start with algorithms you're familiar with and do a cross-validation to see which performs better and if you can you could perform some ensemble learning.

I have to know the dataset and what the task is to determine if it's classification, regression or what ever.
Classification deals with discrete data e.g Positive and Negative, while Regression deals with Continous data like predicting stock prices.

there is no variable indicating yes or no, just the club of the players, nation, weighg, height, and so on.
We can work on it surely. It would be nice.

The Fifa 18 More Complete Player Dataset has 17,994 observations and 185 variables. What do you have in mind to accomplish with this dataset? Honestly, I am not sure which machine learning task to apply. However, I think doing a k-means cluster analysis may help throw some light on the data. Also, you may not need to work with all the 185 variables. These are my amateur submissions though.

yes its csv, how can I install d rio package.

From your r studio, enter the code: install.packages('rio'). After installing, load the package with the code: library ('rio'). You can also load your csv files using 'read.csv()' function. You don't need to load any package to use read.csv function. Make sure your data is in your working directory.

I just want to try my best, I'm just a learner. What kind of problem is that: determining the most complete player, classification, regression, or which?

Can you describe the dataset? If there is a variable on the COMPLETE PLAYER that is captured as YES or NO, then it's a classification task. Logistic regression is also a classification task. If you don't mind can we work on this dataset together for learning purpose. I am also new to machine learning.

The dataset you want to load is in which format,.... csv, xlsx...? There's a package in r called rio. Install the package if you haven't and load. Then use 'import()' function to load your dataset. Make sure the dataet is already downloaded in your machine and remember to added the right file extension. Eg: import('iris.xlsx') , for iris dataset in an excel format. I hope the above helps.

To attain proficiency in r you need the following : 1) passion /determination, this is because along the way you may be discouraged and tempted to quit. 2) a good laptop. 3) r software, this you can get by downloading it. 4) Video tutorials and ebooks, whichever you choose depends on you. For me I use both. 5) practice! practice!! practice!!! Whether you choose to learn by video tutorials, ebooks or both, you must PRACTICE whatever you have learnt again and again. I hope the above helps.

To the best of my knowledge. ...It mostly depends on the courses u took or will be taking (since u are still an undergraduate) Since u are interested in statistical analysis which I think is a branch in public health called Biostatistics, u should offer courses that will introduce u to statistical test and biostatistics....don't know the course code in ur school but I took bio201 and bio 301 ( both are statistics) and I also offered mic 401 (experimental mcb) where we were taught the various statistical test,........just try go thru ur departmental handbook and look out for biostatistics courses

@ preciousnobel, in addition to the above, passion is what you need most. Nothing in my undergraduate studies prepared me for statistical analysis. Along the way, one thing led to another and I developed interest in statistical analysis and modeling. With almost no prior knowledge, I have learned how to do some statistical analysis, plot elegant graghs and do some predictive modelling using r, with the help of video tutorials and ebooks. Though I am far from being proficient, I believe that any thing can be learned if there is sufficient willingness to pay the price.

I'm a fresh graduate....I studied microbiology and I don't know y, i just suddenly developed this passion for public health in my 2nd year.......The drive for this field was just too much that I took courses (elective) which I felt were relevant to the field (parasitology, principles of public health)... I'm aspiring high, aiming for the zenith Coa I know the world, Africa and even our motherland, Nigeria needs us. .....
These are my question
1. Apart from Msc in public health, are there other certification and short courses i could just do.....whether class or online
2. In this computer age, I know there are softwares and programming languages that are been used by public health analyst (SAS, SSPSS, EPI-INFO. ....AND
So on).....pls if u know any other softwares for statically analysis u could recommend for me, I would be very happy

To your second question, R for statistical analysis, graphics and modeling. It's open source and trust me you will love it.

I am very much interested. I started studying ML using r about a month ago. It will be nice to be in a community of like minds.

I don't understand why some people find it difficult to accord the Aniomas their due respect in the Delta project. I know colleagues who vowed that not in their lifetime will an Anioma man rule Delta State. Today, they are still alive and nursing the pain of their unguided hatred. The major challenge people face in machine learning is knowing what algorithm to use and when to use it. For example, people use linear regression when they ought to use logistic regression.
