I have heard so many stories about wraith popularly called Akudaaya in Yoruba but didn't really believe the stories until I encountered one! Many have dismissed such stories as fictions, hallucinations or fabrications but I am emphatically telling you that wraith is real! Let me tell you the meaning of wraith for those that don't have dictionary as at the time of reading. Wraith is a ghost or specter, especially seen just after a person's death. My Story! I had a friend Soji by name(not his real name), we were good friends, we attended the same church but not the same district , most of the time we did meet whenever we had retreat or a combined service at the headquarters. I remember when we were preparing for WAEC, we would take along PQ of different subjects to study whenever we had break during retreat . Along the line we started keeping malice not that we had serious fight but it was a kind of beefing, I am bigger than you, I wear better clothes compared to the once you wear that was the mentality,we were not in talking terms for almost a year! It was around November of a particular year, we were preparing for the December retreat of that year, I was trekking by the side of the road in order to cut cost, I was to board a #40 bus but I had #30 so I was trying to walk the distance #10 could cover. I was heading home facing the upcoming vehicle, lo and behold I saw this friend of mine also trekking towards me though on the other side of the road also facing upcoming vehicle, we were facing each other but on different side of the road! Waow! are we going to end the malice before this year's retreat? I said to myself, we were moving close to each other, all I noticed was his smile as he saw me and also the trousers he was wearing which was baggy, I couldn't see his leg though I didn't stare much at his legs, he kept on smiling until we passed each other. I looked back just after few seconds and couldn't see him on his part, I looked at the side I was to see whether he had crossed the road, still I could not see him there was no turning on the part he was trekking from because it was the fence of a church that was there.... could he have jumped over the fence? for what? I said to myself! where is Soji? I could not find him! I just waved it and said alright we would meet at the retreat! It was December retreat! Myself and Soji must put this malice to a halt! first day I could not see, the second day I decided to visit one of our neighbours, when I got there I heard one of the saddest stories of my life! Soji is dead! What! How?! when did he die? they said sometimes in October! I kept mute for few seconds Ehn? October? but I... I was dumbfounded! has Soji died before I saw him? I said to myself, I raised my head and asked who told you? they said his dad! oh! that's from a good source! So Soji actually showed himself to me!! what! so we couldn't settle this before his demise! very painful! I am telling you that Wraith is real! |
Bevy12:What it seems in your eyes... No advice from you? |
Hi Nlanderz, I am in a serious dilemma now, I wouldn't know the next step to take. If you remember I created a topic towards the tail of last year, if you missed the topic this is the link below: https://www.nairaland.com/2825210/see-question-asked-made-angry#41372122 I shouldn't have brought this up but I am painstakingly seeking the idea to use in coming out of this dilemma of mine. To be frank, she came back on the 8th day of this month which happened to be Friday, before this time we had some discussions which led to her leaving my place angrily and since then no "intimacy" what do I mean? no calls, no text not even flashing! I was on Friday sitting at the veranda of my house, fumbling with my phone, when I looked from afar off and saw a lady coming towards the direction of house. When she drew close, lo and behold she was my girl, we exchanged pleasantries before I took her to my room and then she started her story thus: I am sorry to have left your room angrily the other day( I just nodded my head), the question was shocking I was not expecting it. Truly I had been pregnant which led to the only abortion I had in the past(she busted into tears, I tried to pet her before she continued).I was 17 when armed robbers came to our house on a fateful day and I was raped, I never knew it would lead to pregnancy until after a month plus that I started noticing some changes which led to me seeing a doctor and it was confirmed that I was pregnant. I had no choice that to abort it(sobbing). I was dumbfounded, I was looking like someone who just missed a flight. The point is this, I have no problem accepting her back but why did she wait for two weeks before narrating this? Was she taught of what to say? Could this be a cooked up story? Can I ask any of her family members about the incident? These and many more questions left me dumbfounded. Should I go on with the questions or bury the hatchet? I need mature pieces of advice! |
VenusBetty:Probably I will just ask her why she terminated the pregnancy! |
MzPecs:Your choice of word shows.... Don't be arrogant ask for forgiveness! |
MzPecs:This is one of the reasons I was contemplating of not bringing this topic up! You for kuku call me a silly guy now! The last topic you created though! The power of Sanctification. Are you sanctified? |
wtfCode:Knock for just a question? you must be kidding me bro... |
VampireeM:Thanks jawe babe, thank God it's coming from a lady! I don't know how I would have stylishly asked such question! |
vizkiz:Broz I never knew she could be angry. How could I have asked ? |
Hello everyone! I didn't want to bring this up but I can't just imagine how this question could make her so annoyed. Before I say the question, let me take you down the memory lane. I started dating this girl for two months(I don't know if we're still dating, I'll tell you the reason why I say so), everything has been going on smoothly not until recently when we started asking each other questions. She has asked me so many questions, some of the questions are as follow: My Babe: Have you dated before? Me : Of course! My Babe: Why did u break up? Me: We didn't get along with each other, so we decided to call it quit. My Babe: Oh I see.... She has asked me series of questions but I never asked her any. One day precisely 3days ago, I decided to ask her this simple question that shouldn't take a minute to answer! Have you been pregnant before? She paused and looked straight into my eyes and said What sort of question is that? What do l take her for? Am I saying she had done abortions before? She hissed, stood and left, since 2days now we've not called, sent text to each other. Does the question sound absurd? why did she take it so personal? I have decided not to apologize because I don't think I have done wrong, that's why I said earlier that I don't know if we're still dating! |
2kaybiel:Bros, u mean with my two sittings I can forge ahead in seeking job when the time comes? |
Hi everyone, Please I need pieces of advice on this issue. I am an undergraduate at present, precisely I am in my final year, I was admitted into one of the reputable universities in Nigeria with two sittings (2 WAEC results) and since then, I never thought of writing another exam in order to have a single sitting. My question is, does it matter to have a single sitting results before seeking job? Thanks.... |

When was Odùduwà born? Does anyone know his date of birth? Oduduwa, Olofin Adimula, Emperor and First Suzerain of the Yoruba, was the Oba of Ile-Ife . His name, phonetically written by Yoruba language-speakers as Odùduwà and sometimes contracted as Odudua or Oòdua , is generally ascribed to the ancestral dynasty of Yorubaland because he is held by the Yoruba to have been the ancestor of their numerous crowned kings. Following his posthumous deification , he was admitted to the Yoruba pantheon as an aspect of a primordial divinity of the same name. About Oduduwa Etymology Oduduwa is the power of the womb. Oduduwa represents omnipotency, the ability to affect and reconstruct the physical reality at will. Oòdua first appears as one of the divinities of the Yoruba the ogony. The narrative indicates that Oduduwa denotes “the essence of Reality” (Odu-ti-o-da-Iwa)or "the reservoir of existence"(Odu -ti-o- du Uwa). Narrative Early Historians like Samuel Johnson have been debunked for recording some Oyo -Yoruba popolar account of the coming of Lamurudu baba / father of Oba Oduduwa from the east, sometimes understood by some sources as the "vicinity" of Mecca , but more likely signifying the region of Ekiti , Okun sub-communities in northeastern Yorubaland /central Nigeria or Idah town of the Igala in Kogi State of Central Nigeria. Ekiti is near the confluence of the Niger and Benue rivers, and is where the Yoruba language is presumed to have separated from related ethno-linguistic groupings like Igala , Igbo , and Edo . Lamurudu, a King to be and a very powerful hunter , warrior and pioneer, is said to have come from Mecca. He had several children, last of which, was Oduduwa. Ife Traditions When Oduduwa rose to be a prominent citizen of ancient Ife, he and his group are believed to have conquered most of the 13 component communities and deposed Obatala, then evolved the palace structure with its effective centralized power and dynasty. Going by the tribal records, he is commonly referred to as the first Ooni of Ife and progenitor of the legitimate Kings of the Yoruba people. Oduduwa and his role in creation Main article: Yoruba religion Some oral traditions claim that Oduduwa was Olodumare 's favourite orisha , and as such was sent from heaven to create the earth. There is much controversy concerning him and his place and names in the Yoruba pantheon, and consensus on the subject is as elusive as it is with any other "creation myth". However, the Ife are known for telling the following story: Later years Upon the ending of Oduduwa's time on Earth, there was a dispersal of his children/grandchildren from Ife to the outposts that they had previously founded in order for them to establish effective control over these places. Each is said to have made his or her mark in the subsequently urbanization and consolidation of the Yoruba confederacy of kingdoms, with each child or grandchild fashioning his or her state after Ile-Ife.(copied). A day also should be set aside as holiday to celebrate someone that brought about the existence of Yoruba race.

Here are the top FM radio stations in southwest Nigeria that cover a wider distance from where they are located. I am not saying you can listen to any of the stations listed in any part of {the southwest but at least they can be listened to in two states other than the state they are located. This list is not based on internet connection before you can listen them, just pick up a radio with good aerial and begin to listen to them.
