OBAGADAFFI: Meaning they generated more funds by selling off some assets or Adjustmented their Liability.
But the year they paid that dividend, Chams balance sheet was showing the negative retained earnings.
Wale can pull fast one us anytime. Wale has bitten more than he can chew!, he cannot pull any fast one here as all eyes on OANDO. The banks are waiting for their money and naira depreciation has worsened OANDO's situation. These banks may repeat what ACCESS BANK did to Japual Oil and Maritime service in order to recover their loans |

OBAGADAFFI: Chams Plc will be paying a dividend of N0.03 per share for the 2018 financial year despite negative retained earnings.
While the company’s return to profitability is a positive development, the decision to pay dividends is a somewhat odd one. Chams currently have negative retained earnings of N1.9 billion. @OBAGADAFFI Chams did balance sheet restructuring and that was sanctioned in the Federal High Court. If you recalled AIICO did similar thing to their balance sheet by reclassification. The implication of that is just to make the company have surplus and reserve separated from retained earnings. With this restructuring they can pay dividend from reserve or surplus account and not retained earning In oando's case everything is RED and they can not go to court to restructure their balance sheet now because they have too many court cases. |

Sharmeenator: What's responsible for the increased profit? I earlier thought judging from last year lockdown and current economic climate, they should be recording very low profit or loss. I will appreciate your answer. 1.Vitafoam has innovated products that are consumers' delight 2.the company is fast capturing the sofa market (bed, chair, etc) from the players in the furniture business. 3.The company has intensified her effort to make her products visible and available in every part of the country and outside Nigeria. 4.Strong partnership with E-commerce companies. 5.Vitafoam mattress is the most preferred General and Private Hospitals in Nigeria by the virtue of the acquisition of the VONO foam. These are the reasons the turnover keeps increasing YoY. Vitafoam mattress is also good for you |

Sharmeenator: I feel like crying now. Something told me to buy Seplat at 495 last week, I dismissed it. When I saw the price at 549 on Monday, I nearly cried. Is it wise to buy now? Wait till March 1st when the audited result will be released, becuase we dont know if the recent/present crude oil price rally has been factored in the current price |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by samguru(m): 12:38pm On Feb 17, 2021 |
Sharmeenator: I don't see Vitafoam going more than N10 this year judging by it's past 10 years record. The current price is even too high. I will advise waiting for it to crash before buying. My investment decision is purely predicated on what the financials is saying and not on the history of the share price. |

kintus: Hello Friends,
Please, is the current price of Guinness and VITAFOAM @ N22 and N8.05 a good buy? Or do we expect it to dip further?
@megawealth @OGG @PaEmmman @Mcy56 @samguru @everyone
Thank you in anticipation. Vitafoam at 8.05 is too cheap going by the Q1 EPS of 80 kobo Guinness at 22 is cheap as the company churned out a positive EPS in the Q2 result(NOT YEAR TO DATE). |
