Let's look at this from a different angle, instead of trying to look for ways to strengthen the naira why don't we invest in our local manufacturing and production of goods? Cheaper naira means our locally made products would be cheaper to export. We would be able to compete with the cheaper Chinese or Indian products because foreign investor or traders would need less dollar for our produce thereby increasing our sales and output. Also while focusing on home made production and service, we should also encourage some foreign investors to set up shop in nigeria due to the low naira. I think we should be focusing on revamping our industries and agricultural sector instead of trying to sort out what really we have no power to control at the moment. Necessity is the mother of invention. They should be a big push in infrastructure building and industry. This is where our main focus should be. |
No youth will recieve any cash directly ..here's what will happen, the 5k would be used towards payment to train the youth in some technical skills. A bit like a tuition paid directly to the trainers and technical schools. Those hoping to be seeing 5k in their account every month should perish the thought. Also the 5k would clearly not be for everybody cause not every youth wants to train to be an electrician, bricklayer or machine operator. |
Although I feel the pain of the parents but I think PMB's visible anger may not be solely directed at the BBOG crew. PMB is beginning to come to terms with the insincerity and awkwardness of Nigerians. Everyone is scheming and out for their own gains. He may be honestly looking for ways to solve our predicament but I don't think he fully understands the Nigerian pyche . The fact that he means well doesn't necessarily mean he has the wherewithal to accomplish great things as a president and it doesn't mean his boys have the same philosophy as him. I believe he is just realising that he is surrounded by rogues, thieves and charlatans and he beginning to see everyone around him as such. This in it self can be very annoying and may cloud his judgement hence the rage. |
iliyande:He tore a statement he made ... how did he make it? did he write it himself ? Any sharp man in his predicatment will never sign any document he didnt write. EFFC should not balls this one up. whatever happenend to voice and video recordings? these guys are going to give this guy an oppurtunity to escape justice on a technicality with the trail by media they are embarking on. if you think he stole money charge him to court, prove your case and get him jailed. why are the always pushing for confessions and plea bargain. They know that if they get a confession there would be no need to do any proper investigation- Lazy Procecutors!!!!! Also lazy sensational journalism ...the person tht got this scoop couldnt ask his sources how the statement was made. Naija we too like hot senseless, half baked news. |
Poor Sensation Journalism. First the property is not in any of his names. It is a townhouse with deeded acres of 0.200 which is about 870 sq ft. this means if its on 2 floors in about 1700 sq ft that is if the townhouse occupies the whole land i.e there isnt a garden or parking space. guys please stop falling for sensation lazy journalism, Sahara Reporter use facts to take this guy down, dont lose the little credibility you have left because you want to increase the number of hits on your webisite. His kids can easily sue Sahara Reporters for libel and win in US Courts. But the problem with these people is that they dont want to be on anyone's radar especially the US Government and Sahara Reporters know this. One day Sahara Reporters will mess with the wrong guy and he will be thier downfall. its a shame all our leaders have massive overweight skeletons in thier cupboards. |
Basketmouth was trying to immitate Steve's Harveys gaff at the miss universe event but it backfired big style. Nigerians are not very good at reading between the lines. Basketmouth needs some originality in his comedy......reactive comedy can be a bit boring at times. |
Abeg they should come out and tell us the truth. The people refining crude oil in illegal refineries in the creeks of the niger delta are those refineries digital ![]() The fact is that it has never been cost effective to refine crude in kaduna due to its location. It's 100's of km away from the source and even if it's not compatible with our crude which is a fat lie, u will still need to transport the imported crude from lagos or pH to KD making it too expensive. Let's be frank building a refinery in KD was a bad idea and it will be difficult to sell off because it will not give the owner any profits. |
We already know whose fault it is oga. You guys said you will fix it. You now get there and you keep telling us what we already know. Please stop the propaganda , campaign ended over 9 months ago. Sort the problem out!!!!!! Please where is the minister of Petroleum? What has he said or done since he appointed himself? |
spacyzuma:Exactly...that's what I have been forced to do too. people are using this to hammer cause they are using premium rates even higher than black rates for this type of transactions . |
I really hope this is not another road side mechanic temporary fix due to fear of sack. That it has started production is commendable but I hope it remains operational for a long period of time and it receives the required crude to be able to produce refined products. It's high time we stop working to deadlines and properly fix all the problems no matter how long it takes so we have a smooth run going forward. PH and Warri are different beasts entirely na God go help us. |
No news here ...it happens in every office. As fair as they can produce a budget that can kick start our dead economy I am fine with it. |
Khd95:I think this is another way of keeping people in jail without charge. They now set unachievable bail conditions to make sure u don't get bail. No civil servant will come out to say he has land of 200m value abi u wan make hin Kuba hin sef!. Na wa o .all man for hin sef |
oshyno:Hahahahahahaha na real tenor. Leadership is about picking your fights.no bi every bad guy actor dey fight unless hin bi Rambo. Niaja no bi action film ...na thriller and in some thrillers the bad guys win. Kayser Soze! !!!!! |
euromilion:You and your friends are professionals but a good number of Nigerians over here aren't . They long to be like you but don't want to wait 20 years to achieve so they delve into fraud. This is story is very very true, the number is even conservative. The Ghanaians and Nigerians have taken it to another level. |
FBR:Ok I see ...so they give second hand shoes and bras to widows while the Pastor cops a Porsche...Hmmm . we are taught to be Christ like. Christ was meek and humble. He didnt ride the best horses and drink the finest wine even though His followers clearly could afford to give him earthly riches. Prosperity is not salvation and God is not moved by the type of car or suit you wear. God gives all of us an oppurtunity to prove that with all the temptation abound we can still be meek and humble. May we not use our oppurtnity to share God's love and grace to be cruising Porsche's and hoping that a few second bras ,wapper and shoes would balance it off!! |
Kudos to EFFC for bringing all these people to book but are they telling us that there are no cases concerning APC members on their desk? There should be a balance, this is too one sided and can be misconstrued as a witch hunt . |
The managers that made the poor decisions in the first place retain their jobs while the angle grinders get laid off. Chai !!!!!! Corporate Nigeria is like an ostrich constantly burying it's head in the sand with the hope that it's problems will go away. Oando expanded too fast and acquired Conoco at the wrong time and thought they where getting a good deal which clearly back fired. The authors of this deal are the ones who should be on the chopping block not just the workers. Wale Tinubu should be held responsible for this colossal loss and needs to step down and let others salvage whatever is left. |
More hardship on the people is expected . These ministers have been tasked to be self reliant and generat e a percentage of the funds they require internally. Fashola was a bit hasty in mentioning this. The PPP model doesn't work in all situations and we cannot call the lekki toll road a successfull PPP as the SPV has already been bought out by LASG due to the cries by the people. Although toll roads exist in the developed world, a conducive alternative road is always available for those who don't want to use the toll road. A proper study must be done on our federal roads before you make a blanket statment like tht. Also there are other ways of paying for a road without tolling creating rest stops and trailer parks, weigh bridging etc. |
Kudos oga Senator ! Half bread is better than none. The guy is doing what other senators should be striving to do. A senator is a servant and the mouthpiece of the people he represents. Most of the other senators don't even know the name of the road or river that leads to their constituency and even if they visit, they are inaccessible to the people because of the majesty that surrounds them. It's time we start calling out all our Senators on their stewardship regardless of their party afflictions. Those guys are too comfortable, time to put fire on their a2ses. |
Normal news na ...especially during festive periods. We all need to be vigilante . This world is gradually turning into something esle. |
Why!!!! Where is our backbone ?? How come we always hear current Nigerian news from international sources?? So the lives lost and property stolen due to MTN's disregard of our regulations can be negotiated. I tire for Naija. If the shoe was on the other foot they would have been burning Nigerian businesses and killing Nigerians because we flouted their rules. Hope the Nigerian government does what it normally does and denies this statement in the next 24 hrs. We are behaving like the clowns we voted out. Sorry we ARE the clowns we voted out. |
Is this what is priority to our Senators? they want to finally silence the population. Who chooses what statment is false or not? Who investigates these so called false statements? How does this improve our economy Or our current security situation? These guys are just there for themselves. The youths once again have been used and dumped now they want to finally silence us . In saner climes u give false information you get sued for libel ..which one is jail term and fine ? Fine payable to who? The government? and to think this has already passed 2nd hearing, how are we just hearing about it now? These guys have no shame, can't blame them sha, dem done see us finish. Come 2019 , we should focus on the Senate. Kick out all this tomato senators and put who will represent us not laud over us . Mtchewwwwww! !!!!! |
Interesting events ..Hope EFCC do their work well and charge who ever is suspected of diverting funds with HARD unquestionable evidence. If it is the same dem say dem say evidence they have then this will die a death like other high profile cases. Please since May 29 to date has EFCC won any case against any political thief ![]() Abeg this one na another season film .EFCC is now like nollywood, only good for short term brain free entertainment. EFCC stop suspecting and provide hard evidence. Our judiciary is a joke as well. Farouk that was caught with dollars in his Fila is still waking around as a free man with this case on perpetual adjoinment. Our Constitution is so weak that these guys will always find a way to wiggle out of any charge. The lawyers know this and are using it to their advantage. |
Why is it that PMB finds his tongue overseas and never at home? We keep hearing about how our contry is faring when he goes on international trips. Is it that our journalist don't have the balls to ask pressing questions or he is more comfortable talking in the presence of foreigners?? I don't get it. |
How quickly tables turn. If this is true then it means all western medication have been expended and the situation hasnt improved. That would mean that the cancer has spread and there is no need for the patient to go through the pain of chemo and drugs. At this point, they normally tell the patient to go home and put thier house in order as the inevitable is about to happen. She may be coming home to cleanse her soul, spill the beans and make her peace with God. I suspect a lot of people will be praying that she doesnt come back cause a dying woman has nothing to loose. |
I have always said this Audu guy looked gravely ill. He looked very bloated and I wondered how his heart or blood pressure was faring in all this election wahala. The lust for power will eventually kill you. with all the money he had instead of sorting out his health he was looking to amass more wealth and power. RIP to him sha...no one wishes death on another. Hope this will be an eye opener to our poilthiefcians that life is transient. Be content, know when to throw in the towel. |
Gee15:It's not the way forward . Diesel fumes are more harmful that petrol fumes. The big gens run on diesel while most IBPMN's run on petrol. This is clearly window dressing. If this statement about the ban is true then the government has failed to tackle the elephant in the room. The big generator companies. What should have been done is to regulate the amount of emissions from the big gens, ensure all big gens undergo emission tests and request Gen operators and owners display emission test certificates and seal up or conviscate those that dont meet the standard while concentrating on sorting out our power problem. The ban may be associated to the high demand on PMS and not necessarily the environment, if that's the case then they should ban Okadas and Keke Napeps. Why must the poor man always be the first to suffer.why must he be punished for the iniquities of the rich who have robbed us of our commonwealth. How much money has been spent on power and yet things are still as bad if not worse .I weep I weep. |
I have a feeling the media people of PMB will soon come out and deny this statment. If the ban is health related, they clearly didn't think this through. All the massive generators used by banks hotels Aso Rock etc cause more pollution than I better pass my neighbor. If u ban one, you have to ban the other or esle you would be seen as elitist. |
MARKone:And you really think Mend and co will like to be part of this arrangement? if they had the oppurtunity do you not think they would rather go it alone than align with Biafra? The people fighting for Biafra havent really thought this through properly. Attaching states and people on paper does not mean that they share the same goals as you. Most of the people on the streets flying the Biafra flag are people who are still bitter about the loss to APC and are using Biafra to vent thier displeasure. A trend is forming in this Nigeria. Protest and Fight tends to create political relevance: Fear of Mend & Kidnapping - created a room for a south south VP Boko Haram and killings - created a push for a northern president Biafra and Protest --- will this give room for an eastern VP or President come 2019 ---- make we dey look. it looks like a scary precedence is being set in Nigeria that with unruliness and violence, political relivance is asured. |
Goodluck really follows this man o. How he ends up in high places just by being himself and not necessarily by his intellect can only be divine. He is surely blessed. |
Let's be real . The economy isn't great at the moment and the forecast does not give investors confidence in the future of our economy. The reasons are many PDP's mismanagement of our resources, fall in oil prices, slow diversification of our income streams, poor economic policies and lack of any economic direction of the current government. The losses or reducton of profits can be attributed to companies trying to tighting their belts, the depreciation of the naira and mismanagement that had been previously covered by the oil boom of 2008 -2013. Lets be realistic people are not spending as much as before because of a lack of direction and this is affecting the companies. So to that effect all of them are preparing for the worst. Now we all know what the issues are, I think what the OP was trying to say is what is the current government doing to stir the country out of a possible recession. It's shouldn't be about who caused it but how to solve it. At the moment, it seems we are all burying our head in the sand and hoping it will pass away or it will take care of itself ....IT WON'T. There needs to a direction. Stop this APC and PDP bashing!!!! It provides no solution to the grave problem we are currently facing. |
