Thanks everyone for the input. Just to be sure that I understand:

If I keep the car, they pay £1409
If I say they should take the car, they pay £1830

However according to Lexusgs430, I can get more if I am able to prove that the car is worth more than £1830.

They said my friend should reply by 3pm latest tomorrow, she doesn’t want to make any mistake hence the reason I’m bringing the matter here.

Thanks once again.

I’m not my friend wants me to post the picture, but it’s just a few dent and a broken windscreen and side windows. The car isn’t too bad honestly.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Samopex05: 11:47am On Sep 25, 2023
Lexusgs430:
The vehicle is written off, the value before the accident was £1830, but now with a salvage title, it's only worth £1409.10.......

If you want to dispose the vehicle, 1830 - 1409.10 = 420.90, once salvage pack is received, you would receive the balance of £420.90.........

So in essence, your insurance would only pay 1830, but you can keep the vehicle (den dash you)..... Make you dey carry your wahala go........ 😜🤣

NB : Reject this first offer and say the car is worth more...... They would ask you for proof...... You might still be able to squeeze £200+ out from your insurance company........
Thanks Egbon 👍👍

Please who can explain this, asking for a friend whose car was involved in an accident. This message is from the insurance company.

For the walk in, did you pay at the tls centre or online? Is there any thing I need to do before the walk in.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by Samopex05: 6:26pm On Aug 17, 2023
Please those that went to Tls centre recently, do people still walk in and make the ₦44,0000 payment onsite? Or you have to book for the walk-in online.

The original appointment date is 6th of September which is very far away.

Don’t scan using the portrait mode. Turn your phone as in Landscape then try again. Should work. Stressed me for days
Thanks Mate.

I will try this method again tonight as it keeps locking me out for 24hrs.

Did you use an Android or iPhone when you did yours?

Please for those that updated their visas recently, did you do the biometrics via the Immigration ID Check App.

That App has been driving me crazy for the past 3 days now.

I haven’t been able to scan the chip on my current BRP, it keeps bringing out the error code.

Reality dawning already meanwhile the journey ahead is still very far. In as much as your job is domiciliary care, pls let’s take driving as a priority. I have my UK license already but I still have some Nigerian colleagues that trek to clients houses in this stupid cold weather. The job is not easy at all. Some of us invested millions of naira in this journey, it saddens me to read that someone is threatened because he fed a dog 3 times instead of 2. As many of us are in this, I pray we overcome this. If this is the price to pay, then we will pay it. It’s only a phase and it will pass.

Question regarding POF.

Can I still be using my account where I have my POF for my day-to-day transactions?

Of course, the amounts in excess of the actual POF.
It’s your choice actually. You may or you may not.

My pof is counting at the moment and I am using my account for my normal day to day transaction. Used 650 to calculate and I’m making sure not to go below the figure.

Question: do you know where you will be staying in the UK?

Answer: Yes

Question: Address of the place?

Answer: “university address” as advised by nairalanders

Question: will you be staying anywhere else in the uk?

Answer: huh

If I choose yes, it will tell me to enter an address which I don’t have yet.

If I choose no, it will take me to the next section of the visa application
.

The plan is to stay with my brother till I get my own place.

This may not carry much weight but if we want to print out our bank statement, try to carry out a transaction the previous day even if it’s just ₦100 recharge airtime.

That is, If you want to print your statement on Thursday, carry out a transaction on Wednesday.

After putting the school address as accommodation, the next question that popped up was “will you be stayin anywhere else in the uk?”

If I choose yes, it will tell me to enter an address which I don’t have yet.

If I choose no, it will take me to the next stage.

So is it appropriate to choose no? Knowing fully well that it’s when I get to the uk that I will sort my accommodation.

Lagosismyhome and justwise, when filling the form. It asks if I have a family in the uk. Yes I have a brother and he has been using a British passport since 2015 but the options that came out which is confusing is “if he is a British citizen” or “if he is in the uk permanently”

Which is more appropriate?

You can book for biometrics immediately, you will check for available spaces just like how you check for space during the TB test registration..

You don't have to wait till June first to start application for September intake, if you have all your documents you can start the process now so that you can beat the traffic period of visa application for September intake which is usually July/August/September...

I am for September session but i applied in April ..

Good luck
Bro there is a confusing part when filling that visa form. When filling the accommodation part, if you fill the address of where you want to stay (temporarily), it will still ask if you want to live in another place again. And I don’t currently have the address cos it’s when I travel I will sort accommodation. How did you do it?

Actually as long as the job is paying at least £13k he can apply. It doesn't need to be £20k HCA jobs
Care worker is not classified under skilled job according to my research therefore cannot apply for skilled worker visa BUT

Seeing that senior care worker is a job under skilled work and it’s also under shortage occupation list. Is it okay to study msc healthcare mgmt or msc health&social care and apply for a job as a senior care worker with 2-3years of experience as a carer/support worker.

Cc justwise lagosismyhome theguyfromhr and others with experience concerning this.
