The Word In Your Mouth! – Thursday December 6, 2012 – Pastor Anita Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof (Proverbs 18:21). Your life today is the reflection of your words through the years. You set spiritual forces in motion by words. If you’re not satisfied with how your life has turned out, neither the devils nor your “enemies” are responsible; but you can change it. The power to have a fruitful, productive, vibrant, and exciting life rest on you. This is a fundamental principle in the Kingdom of God. Even our salvation is based on words: “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:8-10). To experience salvation, you must declare the Lordship of Jesus, believing and acknowledging His resurrection and the new life He’s given you. Salvation is a word that completely expresses, in a singular term, all what the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ availed us. Salvation means you’ve been brought out of failure, debt, sickness, disease and infirmity into the liberty of the sons of God. Salvation means you’ve been delivered from sin into the life of righteousness. Your day-to-day confessions must align with these glorious realities, otherwise the blessings and benefits of salvation will not be evident in your life. We rule by words in the Kingdom of God. By your words you’re justified, and by your words you’re condemned (Matthew 12:37). The words you speak will build your children, improve your finances, affect your body, and transform your business. Your words will determine the quality of your life. Therefore, always speak in consonance with the Word. When you declared your salvation in Christ, enormous power was released to bring you out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God. All you had to do was declare the Lordship of Jesus with your mouth. In the same vein, you don’t need any extra advantage to be a success in life because the Word of God already guarantees your success. The Word in your mouth is what you need. Confession The Word of God has taken centre-stage in my life; therefore no matter the circumstances, what I feel or what I see, I’m unperturbed, for my success is guaranteed in the Word in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study 2 Corinthians 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. |

1 John 3:2-3 “Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (16) For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. (17) And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. Simply put; things of this world, they all look good & therefore very tempting, but it can get into your head, puff you up, until you begin to place God as the second best in your life. \'Our God is a very jealous God\' Don\'t put anything above Him! |

Jesus said, "Fear not!" But that was not all. He was the supreme Psychologist. Notice what He said: "Do not be afraid, only believe" (Luke 8:50). It was always more than just, "Don't be afraid," or "Take courage, be brave." That alone would be useless advice. Fear is a force and it must be met by a superior force, which is faith. Fear is the negative force. It is the darkroom in which people develop their negatives. Only a positive force can cancel a negative one. That positive force is faith. So Jesus always said, "Do not be afraid; only believe." The opposite of fear is not courage, but faith. God bless you today. |

VALUE GOD THE MORE God allowed the enemy to overcome Israel in 2 Chronicles 12:5-8 so that they would learn the difference between serving Him and serving the devil. Remember that serving God is the only way to peace and comfort while serving satan is a sure way to pain, bitterness and death. That is why God sometimes allows us to go through pain and suffering in order that we may draw closer to Him and value Him the more. But those whom the Lord wants to admit into the most intimate acquaintance with Him, He first makes sensible to appreciate how undeserving of His grace they ordinarily are. So when you pray, say to the Lord, ‘I can trust you to heal, bless, save, deliver me even though I don’t deserve it’’. |

CIRCUMCISION IS A MATTER OF THE HEART John 18:14 "Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people." JOHN 18:14 The physical nation of Israel still has a very important part to play in God's plan. They have a prominent role in end-time prophecy. However, the physical nation of Israel has been displaced in importance by the spiritual seed of Abraham, that is the church of Jesus Christ. Christians are the true circumcised people of God. In Romans 2:28-29, Paul reveals that true circumcision is a matter of the heart, not the flesh, and that true Judaism is through new birth, not physical birth. In Colossians 2:11, Paul says that spiritual circumcision was done by God without the hands of man. This circumcision, that was made without hands, proves that it was not done in the physical. Paul is referring to the spiritual circumcision of the heart. The sins of our heart were cut away and discarded through the sacrifice of Christ in a similar way that the foreskin is removed from a male. The physical act of circumcision is a picture of the spiritual circumcision that is now a reality in every born-again believer. The condition of a person's flesh is not the important thing. It doesn't matter if the flesh is circumcised or holy. It is the condition of the spirit that matters with God. Those who put faith in their circumcision to save them are putting confidence in the flesh and not in God. Today, the act of circumcision is not the issue, but acts of holiness are still deemed by many as essential for receiving salvation. That is just as wrong as those in Paul's day who believed that being circumcised granted them salvation. |
Religion / She Took It By Force! by samsy5460(m): 11:07pm On Nov 20, 2012 |
SHE TOOK IT BY FORCE When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. Mark 5: 27 The traditions of this woman's society required a woman with an issue of blood to stay indoors because she was 'unclean'. After waiting for twelve years and hiding in the shadows, she probably said to herself, 'enough is enough. I am tired of pain and shame.' She set her own agenda for change and began a process that totally transformed her life. But her journey of change was not an easy one. She had to overcome some stumbling blocks. Her journey started from behind the crowd. She was behind but she was not deterred by her placement. She was confronted with a crowd of people who were all trying to get to the same Jesus she wanted to get to. Although there were many in contention with her, she was not discouraged. She came from behind and pressed through the rough and tumbling mob surrounding Jesus although she was feeble in strength. She did not make excuses nor gave herself any respite. When she finally got to Jesus, she reached out and executed her agenda. She put her faith into action. She reached out and touched the hem of Jesus' garment. That is faith in action. She overcame: 1. Long-term disappointment 2. Physical weakness 3. Personal embarrassment 4. Society's rejection 5. Physical barriers: the crowd of people You can also reach out in faith and set a new agenda for your life if you press on without wavering. Prayer: Help me, Lord, to press through all obstacles until I have touched Your power. Scriptural Reading: Mark 5: 21-43 pls share this to others... |

Churches are not clubs for the perfect. They are clinics for the sick, the wounded and the maimed, where those a bit stronger help those who are still weak. The forgiven forgive. The healed heal. The comforted comfort others. Our role is not to kick people when they are down. They are the devil’s victims and, rather than scorn we should pour on them the oil of understanding and bring recovery and joy. God bless you. |

Light up your World! Ye are the Light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Matthew 5:14). Light is that which describes or makes manifest; it gives direction and shows the way. Also, light brings fulfillment and joy. Thus, the Lord Jesus gave us a high calling when he said “ye are the light of the world.” It means that as Christians, we’re the ones to give direction; we’re the ones to show the people of the world the way to live the triumphant life. In John 8:12. Jesus said. “…l am the light of the world. If anybody follows me, he shall not walk in darkness but he shall have the light of life.” Then in John 20:21, he said, “as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” Consequently, you’re the light of the world, in the same sense as Jesus was the light of the world when He walked the earth physically. No wonder the Apostle John, understanding this revelation declared: “…as he is, so are we in this world.” If you’re a student, you’re the light of your school. If you’re a business man, you’re the light of your industry. If you’re a policeman, you’re the light of the service. Even if you were a soldier, you’re the light of the army. Jesus has made you the light of the world! When you understand this truth, there can be no darkness in your life. Sickness, poverty, discouragement, death and all other works of darkness and evil will never find place in your life. You’re a shining light; walk in this reality today. |
Foreign Affairs / President Barack Obama’s Re-election Speech In Chicago by samsy5460(m): 11:05am On Nov 07, 2012 |
President Barack Obama’s speech in Chicago after his re-election Tuesday night, as transcribed by Roll Call: Thank you so much. Tonight, more than 200 years after a former colony won the right to determine its own destiny, the task of perfecting our union moves forward. It moves forward because of you. It moves forward because you reaffirmed the spirit that has triumphed over war and depression, the spirit that has lifted this country from the depths of despair to the great heights of hope, the belief that while each of us will pursue our own individual dreams, we are an American family and we rise or fall together as one nation and as one people. Tonight, in this election, you, the American people, reminded us that while our road has been hard, while our journey has been long, we have picked ourselves up, we have fought our way back, and we know in our hearts that for the United States of America the best is yet to come. I want to thank every American who participated in this election, whether you voted for the very first time or waited in line for a very long time. By the way, we have to fix that. Whether you pounded the pavement or picked up the phone, whether you held an Obama sign or a Romney sign, you made your voice heard and you made a difference. I just spoke with Gov. Romney and I congratulated him and Paul Ryan on a hard-fought campaign. We may have battled fiercely, but it’s only because we love this country deeply and we care so strongly about its future. From George to Lenore to their son Mitt, the Romney family has chosen to give back to America through public service and that is the legacy that we honor and applaud tonight. In the weeks ahead, I also look forward to sitting down with Gov. Romney to talk about where we can work together to move this country forward. I want to thank my friend and partner of the last four years, America’s happy warrior, the best vice president anybody could ever hope for, Joe Biden. And I wouldn’t be the man I am today without the woman who agreed to marry me 20 years ago. Let me say this publicly: Michelle, I have never loved you more. I have never been prouder to watch the rest of America fall in love with you, too, as our nation’s first lady. Sasha and Malia, before our very eyes you’re growing up to become two strong, smart beautiful young women, just like your mom. And I’m so proud of you guys. But I will say that for now one dog’s probably enough. To the best campaign team and volunteers in the history of politics. The best. The best ever. Some of you were new this time around, and some of you have been at my side since the very beginning. But all of you are family. No matter what you do or where you go from here, you will carry the memory of the history we made together and you will have the lifelong appreciation of a grateful president. Thank you for believing all the way, through every hill, through every valley. You lifted me up the whole way and I will always be grateful for everything that you’ve done and all the incredible work that you put in. I know that political campaigns can sometimes seem small, even silly. And that provides plenty of fodder for the cynics that tell us that politics is nothing more than a contest of egos or the domain of special interests. But if you ever get the chance to talk to folks who turned out at our rallies and crowded along a rope line in a high school gym, or saw folks working late in a campaign office in some tiny county far away from home, you’ll discover something else. You’ll hear the determination in the voice of a young field organizer who’s working his way through college and wants to make sure every child has that same opportunity. You’ll hear the pride in the voice of a volunteer who’s going door to door because her brother was finally hired when the local auto plant added another shift. You’ll hear the deep patriotism in the voice of a military spouse who’s working the phones late at night to make sure that no one who fights for this country ever has to fight for a job or a roof over their head when they come home. That’s why we do this. That’s what politics can be. That’s why elections matter. It’s not small, it’s big. It’s important. Democracy in a nation of 300 million can be noisy and messy and complicated. We have our own opinions. Each of us has deeply held beliefs. And when we go through tough times, when we make big decisions as a country, it necessarily stirs passions, stirs up controversy. That won’t change after tonight, and it shouldn’t. These arguments we have are a mark of our liberty. We can never forget that as we speak people in distant nations are risking their lives right now just for a chance to argue about the issues that matter, the chance to cast their ballots like we did today. But despite all our differences, most of us share certain hopes for America’s future. We want our kids to grow up in a country where they have access to the best schools and the best teachers. A country that lives up to its legacy as the global leader in technology and discovery and innovation, with all the good jobs and new businesses that follow. We want our children to live in an America that isn’t burdened by debt, that isn’t weakened by inequality, that isn’t threatened by the destructive power of a warming planet. We want to pass on a country that’s safe and respected and admired around the world, a nation that is defended by the strongest military on earth and the best troops this — this world has ever known. But also a country that moves with confidence beyond this time of war, to shape a peace that is built on the promise of freedom and dignity for every human being. We believe in a generous America, in a compassionate America, in a tolerant America, open to the dreams of an immigrant’s daughter who studies in our schools and pledges to our flag. To the young boy on the south side of Chicago who sees a life beyond the nearest street corner. To the furniture worker’s child in North Carolina who wants to become a doctor or a scientist, an engineer or an entrepreneur, a diplomat or even a president — that’s the future we hope for. That’s the vision we share. That’s where we need to go — forward. That’s where we need to go Now, we will disagree, sometimes fiercely, about how to get there. As it has for more than two centuries, progress will come in fits and starts. It’s not always a straight line. It’s not always a smooth path. By itself, the recognition that we have common hopes and dreams won’t end all the gridlock or solve all our problems or substitute for the painstaking work of building consensus and making the difficult compromises needed to move this country forward. But that common bond is where we must begin. Our economy is recovering. A decade of war is ending. A long campaign is now over. And whether I earned your vote or not, I have listened to you, I have learned from you, and you’ve made me a better president. And with your stories and your struggles, I return to the White House more determined and more inspired than ever about the work there is to do and the future that lies ahead. Tonight you voted for action, not politics as usual. You elected us to focus on your jobs, not ours. And in the coming weeks and months, I am looking forward to reaching out and working with leaders of both parties to meet the challenges we can only solve together. Reducing our deficit. Reforming our tax code. Fixing our immigration system. Freeing ourselves from foreign oil. We’ve got more work to do. But that doesn’t mean your work is done. The role of citizen in our democracy does not end with your vote. America’s never been about what can be done for us. It’s about what can be done by us together through the hard and frustrating, but necessary work of self- government. That’s the principle we were founded on. This country has more wealth than any nation, but that’s not what makes us rich. We have the most powerful military in history, but that’s not what makes us strong. Our university, our culture are all the envy of the world, but that’s not what keeps the world coming to our shores. What makes America exceptional are the bonds that hold together the most diverse nation on earth. The belief that our destiny is shared; that this country only works when we accept certain obligations to one another and to future generations. The freedom which so many Americans have fought for and died for come with responsibilities as well as rights. And among those are love and charity and duty and patriotism. That’s what makes America great. I am hopeful tonight because I’ve seen the spirit at work in America. I’ve seen it in the family business whose owners would rather cut their own pay than lay off their neighbors, and in the workers who would rather cut back their hours than see a friend lose a job. I’ve seen it in the soldiers who reenlist after losing a limb and in those SEALs who charged up the stairs into darkness and danger because they knew there was a buddy behind them watching their back. I’ve seen it on the shores of New Jersey and New York, where leaders from every party and level of government have swept aside their differences to help a community rebuild from the wreckage of a terrible storm. And I saw just the other day, in Mentor, Ohio, where a father told the story of his 8-year- old daughter, whose long battle with leukemia nearly cost their family everything had it not been for health care reform passing just a few months before the insurance company was about to stop paying for her care. I had an opportunity to not just talk to the father, but meet this incredible daughter of his. And when he spoke to the crowd listening to that father’s story, every parent in that room had tears in their eyes, because we knew that little girl could be our own. And I know that every American wants her future to be just as bright. That’s who we are. That’s the country I’m so proud to lead as your president. And tonight, despite all the hardship we’ve been through, despite all the frustrations of Washington, I’ve never been more hopeful about our future. I have never been more hopeful about America. And I ask you to sustain that hope. I’m not talking about blind optimism, the kind of hope that just ignores the enormity of the tasks ahead or the roadblocks that stand in our path. I’m not talking about the wishful idealism that allows us to just sit on the sidelines or shirk from a fight. I have always believed that hope is that stubborn thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us so long as we have the courage to keep reaching, to keep working, to keep fighting. America, I believe we can build on the progress we’ve made and continue to fight for new jobs and new opportunity and new security for the middle class. I believe we can keep the promise of our founders, the idea that if you’re willing to work hard, it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from or what you look like or where you love. It doesn’t matter whether you’re black or white or Hispanic or Asian or Native American or young or old or rich or poor, able, disabled, gay or straight, you can make it here in America if you’re willing to try. I believe we can seize this future together because we are not as divided as our politics suggests. We’re not as cynical as the pundits believe. We are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions, and we remain more than a collection of red states and blue states. We are and forever will be the United States of America. And together with your help and God’s grace we will continue our journey forward and remind the world just why it is that we live in the greatest nation on Earth. Thank you, America. God bless you. God bless these United States. Copyright 2012 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed. |

Religion / What Can You Do To Help? Where/how Do You Want To Be Remembered? by samsy5460(m): 3:58pm On Nov 06, 2012 |
In recent years, the world has been experiencing an increasing frequency of extreme weather events largely attributed to climate change. Even though we were pre-warned that Hurricane Sandy would be a storm of historic proportions, no one could have accurately predicted the sheer intensity of her shocking wake. Yet we don’t need to look beyond our shores to witness the devastation and suffering that the flooding has caused to lives and property. By one account, “the floods visited on Nigeria by nature, have caused untold human suffering, and sitting down in cities far away from the disaster, it is not so easy to understand the deep human suffering that is ongoing. But know that this is the worst disaster that has befallen Nigeria since the Civil War.” A philanthropist is “someone who donates his or her time, money, and/or reputation to charitable causes.” Philanthropy affords one the opportunity and privilege of making a positive impact on society to shape or even save lives. By giving to community, the arts, cultural, sports, religious, and civic organisations, we are in a position to be deliberately involved in causes that we believe in. Determine what type of initiatives you wish to support and then review your finances to decide how much you can afford to give. Will it be a one-off donation or is it something you can continue to commit to year on year. Narrow your choices down to a few charities or causes you feel comfortable with and do some research on them to ensure that their ethos and mission are in consonance with your core values; then choose say one or two to support. Follow up to see how your donation is assisting them. When you see the impact it is having, you will find it easier to continue to give. Philanthropy takes on many forms. It is our individual response to human needs; It is caring and serving; an opportunity to be involved. It can be through direct giving, or through impact investing which combines the profit motive of traditional investing with the social and developmental outcomes of philanthropy. What are you doing to help the victims of the floods that have ravaged parts of Nigeria and destroyed the lives and livelihood of thousands of our fellow citizens? This is the time to gather money, food, clothing, books, toys, household appliances from crammed cupboards; these will all be appreciated by thousands of people displaced by the floods. Bear in mind that even in such dire situations, there will always be unscrupulous individuals and groups who will try to take advantage of your generosity. So try to identify credible organisations that you feel certain will ensure that relief material reaches the most needy including the following: PASTOR FEMI OBALEMO MOVEMENT (PFOM). We have set up collection centres in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Lokoja, Kabba, London, Dallas and Johannesburg for this purpose. The number to call, for more details is +2348039719986. For centres in Edo State & environs; Call Bro Sam +2347037821279, 08022960319. We all love to see the excitement on our children’s faces on birthdays or at Christmas, ripping the wrapping paper off their presents. Try to emphasise the non-material aspects of the season as Christmas approaches, such as family and fellowship and generosity. It is not enough to just tell our children to be charitable and kind. Our own actions in supporting others will speak louder than anything we can say. We must guide them through a program of action that becomes ingrained in their psyche. Giving some attention to the present floods will teach them a powerful and vivid real-life lesson, that their personal money or possessions can have a positive effect on the well-being of others. With all the pressure that many families are going through, to even suggest that one should give seems absurd as it is the last thing on many people’s mind. Even if you are going through difficult times yourself, try to focus on being grateful for what you do have and what opportunities continue to present themselves. Look around you; there will always be someone worse off than you are. You can still do your own little bit and add value to someone else’s life even if you have little or no cash to spare. Giving does not mean that you must give only financially; there are several other ways to give in a meaningful way. The possibilities of giving of your time, experience, talent and intellect are vast and by sharing your knowledge with others, you can add value to your community in this way. You can give of your time to volunteer, visit the elderly, support a foundation, participate in charity walks or runs to raise money for a particular initiative. Are you a resource person in a particular field? There will be something, some talent that you can share with others that will impact positively on their lives. Indeed it is during trying times, even when your finances might seem stretched that you are forced to look inwards at what is truly important in life. Sometimes perspectives become warped and the most important aspects of life, such as your relationship with God, family and other relationships, your health, job satisfaction, and fulfilling interests take a back seat. Fortunately, challenging times compel us to recognise the true value that we hold as human beings and what makes us more successful, effective, balanced, and fulfilled people. By deciding to make a difference in someone else’s life, you can bring so much more meaning, value, and a lasting form of happiness to your own. |
Religion / Still Having Doubt About Tithing.....? by samsy5460(m): 3:26pm On Nov 06, 2012 |
In Malachi 3:10, God commands us: “‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the LORD Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’” Are you faithfully obeying God by paying your full tithe? If yes, begin to praise God in faith for the abundant provision he is bringing to you. If not, ask God to forgive you. Repent today, and commit to pay your full tithe today at church. |
