Hmmmmmmmm, I just noticed that most replies come from women....If you are truly the head of the house make your decision and don't wait for advice from here. Also i have learnt a lesson in life, you do not demand for respect, you earn it!!! Hmmmmmmmmmmm... modernization of the biblical principle on marriage is the cause of the high level of divorce, wife submission is not a negotiable directive. I wonder why women would rather be prepared to attend vigils, pray and fast for God to heal a marriage that their attitude could have easily amended. |
Thank God o!But what news can we believe again? |
Can someone confirm this story? http://dailypost.com.ng/2012/11/26/brt-bus-full-passengers-falls-lagos-lagoon-3rd-mainland-bridge/ The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), has confirmed that a BRT bus, that was conveying passengers across the Third Mainland Bridge, has fallen off, into the Lagos Lagoon. The FRSC relayed this information via its Twitter account. It posted: “A fully loaded BRT bus fell off the 3rd mainland bridge into the Lagos lagoon, 26-11-12. Rescue work in progress. Motorists be cautious.” It will recalled that the bridge – which is the longest in West Africa – was re-opened on November 6, after it was partially closed down for repair works, that lasted over three months. DailyPost will bring up to the speed as the situation develops. |
Don't wanna be left out...Driving my friend's LR4, i just discovered i have a moto and not car !!!! |
Just learn to mind your business and don't be a "Lagos Looker" (those that stand to watch any incident happening on the road. Avoid Night crawling and flashy living, then any other precaution you have developed from where you are coming from. |
I read this story and it is no different from the crime to humanity we read in newspapers everyday. All we do is just talk talk talk...my conclusion is that Govt created 20% of the problems and WE the people created 80% of Nigerian problem !!!! We are light years from true independence and civilization, if your public officers can send their children abroad to live, study and work it simply means they have no hope in the system they established so why should i? Its rather a bit late for me to start running around the world but one thing i would guarantee is that my next generation would not be born into this quagmire. |
wow !!!! This is what idleness would do to a mind !!!! |

Until Nigerians start seeing things objectively then we are not ready to move forward....the familiar empathy and sentiments with no solution. Kindly note that all of you using derogatory terms for the Posters fall under the same category with the Aluu people, you have just exhibited the same intolerance and it has blinded you from reasoning with others opinion. |

I am quite shocked with the responses i am reading on this topic especially from the female folks, has the harshness of the economy done this to our conscience? Most of us have become callous in this part of the world, regardless she made an innocent mistake that anybody could make; should we now rub it in? how many of us have been jilted before? brokenhearted? was it because we were not smart enough? its only here i know people are castigated for being trustworthy, faithful and straightforward. Can it ever be easy to move on especially when the person that did it is still gallivanting around with your hard earned sweat, remember you might end up a victim one day. Elisabet51 follow your conviction even if it takes 20 years cos justice is no respecter of time, although forgiveness is another path you could tow if you want but let nobody condemn you for any path you chose to take. Peace be unto you. |
"In the multitude of words sin abideth" - if you are Christian and you are trading words with people that don't believe then be careful you don't fall into similar sin. People that involve in religious arguments are just demonstrating their ignorance in what they claim they believe in. Knowledge exchange can only be achieved in tranquility and not these unending argument that won't benefit anybody, so what makes you different from the person you are arguing with? Therefore let's act with wisdom in argument, know when to stop talking. |
I read with amazement how some of us try to justify killing of innocent citizens. Religion instead of propagating peace men have made it the bane of confusion in the world, people have expressed ignorance and frustration under the guise of religion. God is a God of peace and not war, He doesn't require blood sacrifice like some inconsequential idols neither does He requires some people to fight on His behalf like an handicap. Humans would continue to kill fellow human under different excuses but let's remember "he who kills by the sword shall die by the sword". For the swines that call themselves human, who think it funny to desecrate what others reveres, they are only showing their ignorance by mocking what is beyond their intelligence. Science would always seek for knowledge on things it doesn't understand rather than castigate it, these set of humans are like organisms that just exist without purpose, they are like matters created to occupy space. I pray your souls find solace soon before death comes knocking at your door as they say "No repentance in the grave". |
Can women really make up their mind on Gender Equality ? If we are equal why should men be the one to spend money on you? Bring your money into the relationship because we also enjoy getting expensive gifts too! Also ladies note - Relationship isn't a Source of Income !!! |
Nairalanders are wiiiiiicckkkeeeedddd !!! Laugh don scatter my baff up !!! Gentleman, good plan but bad implementation! It's "gold digger" not "goal digger"....actually a goal digger would be a nice partner ! |
"Who no like better thing" - actually this would happen if the guy is loaded then the lady takes ownership but if the guy na broke-ass trust me no girl would take ownership, you would hear something like "he is just a friend" even after engagement!!! Guys we are dead without money, even your mama go just manage call you son !!! |
The thread is actually a serious one but the comments thereof are outrightly hilarious. Kidnapping is a national problem to so don't let us "tribalise" it. |
As much as I appreaciate the gesture from Dangote and I quite understand the reason why Nigerian graduates would chose to apply for the job, asking and limiting application for a truck driver to academic graduates points to a fault in our value system. With the cost of university education in Nigeria going up as far as N650,000 per session and state school(LASU) going up as far N250,000; spending 5 to 6 years in school, then I expect more from our Leaders to offer their youths. I would not blame those that are applying but I would blame a system which encourages some of the bedrock of national intellectual development to go drive trucks. Nairalanders; I have read both sides of the debate and we all have our points, better a truck driver than a thief or a beggar but let's be careful of falling into complacency. |
Change would always come...nothing you are not born with would die with you !!! |
Stories like this get me scared !!!!! wow !!!! when would men stop being fooled into marriages? Religion and Love is the flimsiest excuse to marry a woman!!!! love my foot !!!! |
We so much love sensational stories, stories about women being abused surely attracts so much sentimental comments. Let us be fair in reporting all sides of the story in an incident because one day you might be the victim of same calumnious report. |
I don't believe in luck for anything, you would be fortunate if your preparation can meet up with your opportunity. Entertainment entails a lot, talent, suave, savvy,"swagger", finesse, skills, business sense, etc. D'Banj is a typical example, he doesn't have that much singing talent but he his creative and streetwise so that has aided him. In conclusion all successful artists are somehow talented! |
Poster, I had similar problem,Mine is when i drive the car for a while and switch off the ignition, it would not start until 15 to 20 mins later. I couldn't switch off engine at filling stations and it finally killed my battery. The solution is the ignition coil, my rewire told me the ignition coil was damaged and changing it solved the issue. Try that and get back to me. Scanning it was a bit of problem because the scanning port was not the regular OBD2 rectangular socket, it has a round socket similar to OBD1 so to get an adapter for it was difficult. |
hhhmmmmmm !!! his continuous stay is a postponement of Judgment day ... |

Hello Soma, do you only sell jewelries for ladies? |
I suspect there are non Nigerians contributing to this topic, I read and I am impressed but if all these comments are from Nigerians then we are gradually being emancipated at last from religious mediocrity. I am glad avenues like these are available for people to debate and learn. |
sammoR: Obviously, Pst Kun or whatever is very confused, apparently not a member of God's family n certainly not a pastor. Do family members wash their dirty linen in public? What's ur problem with tithing anyway? If u don't believe in it, then leave it be n not create a thread where u cause dissension. Focus on how to be relevant in society. What kind of pastor r u? I pity those listening to u. U r apparently not a member of God's fAmily or a very confused n misguided one.I should believe this is a matured discussion, castigation would not give more credence to your point. Everyone is entitled to their opinion so why don't you avoid this sanctimonous judgement? Therefore sammonR teach us what you know and don't condemn, someone said earlier and I qoute "what you know well should not be hard to explain. No matter how long the people have been subjected to indoctrination, one day the truth shall be known and as the Holy books says "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free". |
Black Africans are peculiar people especially Nigerians ( I am a black too). It is mostly in this side of the globe that we live on believes and hopes rather than taking responsibities for our destinies. It's only in this part of the world we pray for electricity rather than generate it from a source, it's only in this side of the world that people would believe they can walk into great wealth without working for it. Religion they say is the opium of the people and it is the only premises where sentiment surpasses logicality. Over time I have observed that when it comes to religious arguments one should learn where to draw the lines no matter how tempting the points are. Religious debates are like vicious cycles, you would always end up where you started from except you break off the chain of argument. On a final note, Africans would need to evolve from primitivity if we are to attain any meaningful development. |
I don't blame those that supports tithing because most of us have been indoctrinated from childhood as we were born into Christian families. It's so hard to change what has become part of our subconsciousness and seems to be a moral obligation similar to obeying your parents. When we say we are Christians by whose standard do we live? During the time of Christ's ministry, He was seen as a radical Who was opposed to the Jewish laws from Moses and the prophets. The summary of the teaching of Christ was the freedom from the bondage of obeying physical laws that cannot guarantee your salvation nor add anything to your spirituality, His emphasis were always about spiritual sanctification through faith and nothing of "works". It's funny how the modern day advocates of tithes cleverly extracted and isolated just that single law from all the old laws from the Jewish era. Blackmailing people with Malachi cannot be a teaching from God, it is sad to continously see a father that cannot comfortably feed his family giving "tithe" to a well fed pastor living in extreme opulence; with the father thinking he is doing God a favor. Tithing has come to take the place of blood sacrifice of old where the people believed it's a solution to their sins, hence you see corrupt politicians that plundered the economy, banking executives that have ruined banks, fraudulent employers that eats the labour of thier workers and youths that make a living from scamming others; all sitting conveniently in our churches convinced that they have paid their dues to God therefore they are forgiven. For you the advocates of Tithing, all you are propagating is the doctrine of the Pharisees and not that of Christ. As much as I am not against giving to the church which is supported bibilically and comes with blessings, let it be known that the spirit of the new testament is about "cheerful giving" and not out of compulsion as advocated in the old testament/modern day pastors (2nd Cor 9:7). If you are a Christian that obeys all what comes from the high pulpit without asking questions or going to the bible to research the authenticity then you are no different from the religious fanatics called Boko Haram that takes away innocent lives just because a teacher told them it's from God. Thank you for reading. Mollie12, May the Spirit of Truth and wisdom never depart from you. |
