TAO11:You tried your best but all your references are after 1897, so you failed yet again on this attempt. You can try again. I am throwing an open challenge to anyone here to provide any mention of Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan in Benin written history between 1475 to 1897, a 400 years period. I will send that person $1000, yes one thousand dollars to cushion the effects of these lockdown. |

TAO11:You tried your best but all your references are after 1897, so you failed yet again on this attempt. You can try again. The Yoruba told us that the Benin people had a fantastic relationship with Ife since 1180AD. When the European started visiting Benin from 1475 up till 1897, the Benin completely forgot to tell the various Europeans that documented Benin history about Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan. Some of these Europeans were resident in Benin for years. They never saw or hear anything about Benin/Ife relationship. They never saw any message from Benin to Ife or from Ife to Benin. The Benin remembered to tell the Europeans about everyone else except Ife. Various rulers and people were spoken about and recorded but Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan are missing from the Benin history books and European archives of Benin history between 1475 to 1897. In 1897, after the fall of the Benin empire, the Benin suddenly woke up and realised that there was one small and very important detail about their history they haven't told anyone for 400 years. That is the Benin/Ife relationship. Why did Benin forget this very important father and son relationship between Benin and Ife for over 400 years. Was it because there was no relationship in the first place or the Benin were just too busy decimating, conquering, colonising and killing every rebellious rulers around them and in far away lands. Gregyboy, do you want to give the Yoruba people around here headaches? The people are still scratching their heads around the $1000 dollars challenge, you came up with another assignment. |

TAO11:The queen of copy and paste fabrications doesn't know how to give a simple citation with date any more. I am throwing an open challenge to anyone here to provide any mention of Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan in Benin written history between 1475 to 1897, a 400 years period. I will send that person $1000, yes one thousand dollars to cushion the effects of these lockdown. |
TAO11:Quote a book on Benin history that mentioned Oduduwa, Oranmiyan and Ife. You know how to cite a book. You are not new to referencing a book. If you are not up to the task, please let others try their luck. If Benin had relationship with Ife in the first 400 years of Benin written and documented history, there would have been numerous mention of Ife in Benin history and the mention will not just be confined to the 1800s alone. There are numerous mention of Lagos in Benin history from 1603. I am throwing an open challenge to anyone here to provide any mention of Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan in Benin written history between 1475 to 1897, a 400 years period. I will send that person $1000, yes one thousand dollars to cushion the effects of these lockdown. |
TAO11:All you need to do is copy and paste as usual and give us the reference to the book with year published. Just give us a citation and stop all these embarrassing dribbling around with words. Ejoor, we are all waiting. There is no deadline yet to the prize payout. I am throwing an open challenge to anyone here to provide any mention of Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan in Benin written history between 1475 to 1897, a 400 years period. Juliusmalema:Very interesting, what are you still waiting for. Hopefully all the fabrications from the Yorubas will stop after this. I am throwing an open challenge to anyone here to provide any mention of Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan in Benin written history between 1475 to 1897, a 400 years period. I will send that person $1000, yes one thousand dollars to cushion the effects of these lockdown. |
TAO11:When you cite a book , don't you cite the purplish date, you have suddenly forgotten how to give a citation. The queen of copy and paste fabricated citations is finally humbled. This is a head scratching moment for all the Yoruba pseudo nairaland historians. I am throwing an open challenge to anyone here to provide any mention of Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan in Benin written history between 1475 to 1897, a 400 years period. I will send that person $1000, yes one thousand dollars to cushion the effects of these lockdown. |
TAO11:Even though Johnson didn't write the history of Benin, but I am ready to consider it if you can give me the year the book was published. Please provide a citation from the Johnson's book you referred to, including the year it was published. Please hurry up I am sure our readers are waiting for this great moment of revelation. I am already panicking and quaking in my boots. This is indeed a serious head scratching moment for all Yoruba nairaland pseudo historians. I am throwing an open challenge to anyone here to provide any mention of Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan in Benin written history between 1475 to 1897, a 400 years period. Juliusmalema:Igbo have their history. No one is saying Igbo doesn't have history, early Igbo history has Benin built in and if you want Igbo history without Benin, you will have to wait a bit longer because there are people and kings across Igbo land who are still claiming Benin ancestry. |
Juliusmalema:You are basically saying scholars will come and fabricate new history to change the old history. That is what the Yoruba scholars have been doing with Benin history, that is why I throw up the challenge to them. The truth is, fabricated, China made history can't stand the test of time, history are made and not fabricated. |
TAO11:Please educate and embarrass the illiterate with your vast knowledge and even deprive him of $1000 US dollars. The Igbos and Yorubas can collaborate on this simple challenge. You can't copy and paste your way out of this. Insults wouldn't help you either. I am throwing an open challenge to anyone here to provide any mention of Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan in Benin written history between 1475 to 1897, a 400 years period. I will send that person $1000, yes one thousand dollars to cushion the effects of these lockdown. |
Juliusmalema:You know that's impossible, what God have ordained can't be changed by man. Igbo will continue to remain part of Benin history till eternity. Ife is Lucky, it only came into Benin history after 1897, but Igbo has been there for centuries. Olaudah Equiano book of 1789, 102 years before the end of Benin empire, said Benin and Igbo were having a very loving relationship centuries back, before the British came to end the honeymoon, how would you change this narrative. |
Juliusmalema:Nna men forget about blood brothers fighting, all you need to do is simply repost your original prove since you claimed to have proved it before. You will not only embarrass me but deprive me of $1000 US dollars. This is going to be a big embarrassment to the Igbos and Yorubas if they can't answer this simple question. |
Juliusmalema:Whilst we are waiting for the queen of copy and paste fabrications to come and save you guys the embarrassment of your fallacies. The below is what I got from one of your Igbo brothers, what is your take on his contribution. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The Portuguese were referring to Nri. Eze Nri was like the pope of Igbo cultural and religious practicies and also a King of the ancient Nri territories of Enugwu-Ukwu, Agukwu, Enugwu-Agidi and Nawfia. Ofo (which is the staff of office) will normally be issued out to Igbo kings, Benin Obas and Attahs of Igala, by the reigning Eze Nri who was the high priest. In the olden days, every Oba of Benin and Attah of Igala, must also be made an Ozo title holder before they become proper candidates for any royal positions. The thing is that people have no idea that Igbos were the principal civilizing influence in the dark ages. I hope one of these days, the full tale of Nri people will be revealed to the world. Perhaps, about a hundred years ago, some British anthropologists asked the reigning Nri king which territories were under Nri influence. He mentioned towns including Aguleri and Idu (the way ancient Nri people referred to Edo/Bini people). This Nri king had no idea Portuguese anthropologists had already been to Benin and found evidence of Nri overlordship of Benin, a few hundreds of years before. Imagine if these Portuguese did not make this recording, today people will be accusing Nri people of chest-beating, but thank God these Portuguese people visited. |

Juliusmalema:Why don't you provide the answer to the challenge instead of calling on others to do it for you. The period in question is 1475 to 1897. |
RedboneSmith:I am sure that was a typo, go back to the previous discussions on this challenge, it was written more than once. It's between 1475 to 1897. You can also read previous post on this challenge. The queen of copy and paste hasn't be able to copy and paste her way out of this. If the Benin told the English about Ife while the English were busy ransacking and burning down Benin city in 1897, I am sure the Benin would have also told other Europeans that visited and documented the history of Benin between 1475 and 1897. All you guys need to do is just provide a reference to such a book or writer and the prize is yours. |
INnaMAN:D. N Oransaye was written after 1897. Nice try anyway. |
RedboneSmith:The challenge is on, mind you Egharevba was written after 1897. |
RedboneSmith:The challenge is very simple. Anybody interested should go through the various libraries and archives of Benin history written between 1475 to 1897, a 400 years period and believe me there are thousands of pages covering every rulers and people Benin came into contact with. All I am asking is to point out the names Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan from any of those written accounts. The thread has gone quiet since I throw up the challenge. I am certain there will be nothing to point to because Benin/Ife relationship was created after the end of Benin empire in 1897. The Yoruba are trying to create Ife out of the ashes of Benin empire and claim Benin history for themselves, but Benin is not completely dead, buried or cremated yet. |
davidnazee:That's why I have this challenge for them. I am throwing an open challenge to anyone here to provide any mention of Ife, Oduduwa and Oranmiyan in Benin written history between 1475 to 1987, a 400 years period. INnaMAN:Please provide the 12th century book your historical accounts was written in and get your account details ready to receive the prize. If you don't have a bank account, don't worry, your prize will be sent to you via western union. |
gregyboy:Sorry no prize for that. |

Juliusmalema:Biafra have been warned to stay out of south south. Any future Biafra will be confined to the current 5 south eastern states, there is no land to steal in the south south, the owners of the land have spoken. Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who hails from Owa- Oyibu in Ika North-East council area within Anioma land, disowned the purported map, insisting that no part of the state was in Biafra territory ab-initio. “We have criticized Biafran agitation. Anioma land, as it is, from here we are part of old Bendel State, we are part of the Mid-west State, we have not been part of the South-East, so obviously, we cannot be said to be part of them. “We may speak a similar language but we are not part of the South-East. We were part of the Mid-west which was later Bendel State. We are now Delta State and we are Deltans,” Okowa told journalists in Asaba. “The governors of Rivers, Cross River and Akwa-Ibom have made pronouncements prohibiting such protests. There are no more demonstrations in Port Harcourt, Calabar and Uyo because the governors are no longer tolerating the agitators. Ndi Anioma of Nigeria, in a statement jointly signed on behalf of Anioma nation by Lauretta Onochie, Emeka Esogbue, Gloria Adagbon, Emmanuel Nwaokolo, Smart Ajaja, Frank Ofili, Benson Ozour, Harris Pen Ogbolu, Lawrence Egwali, Gregory Ogbolu, Ifeanyi Onwuli and Fidelis Chimokwu, noted that Biafra died permanently in 1970. “Like most observers who followed the nature of Biafra in 1967, Ndi Anioma is of the view that Biafra died permanently in 1970 with the surrender speech made by Philip Effiong in which he emphatically stated: ‘Biafra ceases to exist’, following Col. Emeka Odimegwu Ojukwu’s escape to Ivory Coast. “In spite of this circumstance, a few resentful people of South-East origin are attempting to exploit a non-existent opportunity to make the present democratic dispensation ungovernable. “But for posterity, Ndi-Anioma must make its position clear thus: Anioma has never been part of Biafra in history or administration. For record purposes, Anioma was first situated in the Western Region, then Midwestern Region, Bendel State, and now Delta State in the South-South. We cannot for any reason afford to be forcefully strong-armed into any region, outside the region within the South-South geographical zone. “Henceforward, the representation of Anioma in different maps of Biafra does not and cannot amount to Anioma being part of Biafra. That can only be in the figment of the imagination of desperate irredentist adventurers who creatively made such maps to satisfy their thirst for empire-building. They may make Anioma to exist in their maps, but the world must note that it does not have our consent as we reject that tag vehemently. Besides this stand, is the position of the traditional ruler of Asaba, Asagba (Prof.) Chike Edozien who insists that the unity of Nigeria is no longer negotiable after the fratricidal war that claimed several lives including Asaba natives. “What is the greatness of Asaba? The greatness of Asaba is that it the beginning, the centre of a great country that houses more than one-third of black people in the world. So if you divide Nigeria, Asaba will become the centre of part of that great country, you have diminished Asaba, I don’t want Asaba to be diminished. |
