The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Thursday said laboratory result of the suspected fake rice showed that the product was not plastic but rice contaminated with micro organisms.
The Acting Director General, NAFDAC, Yetunde Oni, said this at a news conference in conjunction with the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Abuja.

Oni said the seized rice was unsatisfactory and therefore unwholesome for human consumption, stressing that the consignment would be destroyed upon handover by the NCS.

She explained that the product branded ”Best Tomato”, was in 25kg bag, without NAFDAC number, batch number, date markings and details of the manufacturer.

One of the world's largest Bitcoin and Ether cryptocurrencies exchanges Bithumb has recently been hacked, resulting in loss of more than $1 Million in cryptocurrencies after a number of its user accounts compromised.

Bithumb is South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange with 20% of global ether trades, and roughly 10% of the global bitcoin trade is exchanged for South Korea's currency, the Won.

Bithumb is currently the fourth largest Bitcoin exchange and the biggest Ethereum exchange in the world.

Last week, a cyber attack on the cryptocurrency exchange giant resulted in a number of user accounts being compromised, and billions of South Korean Won were stolen from customers accounts.



Around 10 Million Won worth of bitcoins were allegedly stolen from a single victim's account, according to the Kyunghyang Shinmun, a major local newspaper.

A survey of users who lost cryptocurrencies in the cyber attack reveals "it is estimated that hundreds of millions of won [worth of cryptocurrencies] have been withdrawn from accounts of one hundred investors. One member claims to have had 1.2 billion won stolen."

Besides digital currencies, hackers were succeeded in stealing the personal information of 31,800 Bithumb website users, including their names, email addresses, and mobile phone numbers, the South Korean government-funded Yonhap News reported.

However, Bithumb claims that this number represents approximately 3% of its customers.

The exchange also told Yonhap that it contacted South Korea's cybercrime watchdog on June 30, Friday after it learned of the hack on June 29.



Bithumb believes that one of its employee's home computer was hacked in the attack and not its entire network and no passwords were compromised, so it is impossible for hackers to gain direct access to user accounts.

The digital currency exchange says that the loss of funds is the result of using "disposable passwords" in order to carry out digital transactions online.

"The employee PC, not the head office server, was hacked. Personal information such as mobile phone and email address of some users were leaked," Bithumb told the newspaper. "However, some customers were found to have been stolen from because of the disposable password used in electronic financial transactions."

While more than 100 Bithumb customers have already filed a complaint with the National Police Agency's cybercrime report center regarding the hack, South Korean officials are now investigating the incident.

Why do people foam from the mouth when having a seizure?

This mainly to do with the build up of excess saliva which is created by the teeth fully closed and the tongue which if not locked over the throat “excites” the Salivary Glands to create more saliva.

When the teeth are clenched and the person is having a severe fit, they are often breathing very heavily (panting) or at least trying to. To that end the body is trying to breathe through the mouth, but can’t due to the clenched teeth. The heavy breathing creates pressure behind the saliva and, what is to all intents and purposes hydraulic pressure builds up and forces the saliva through the small gaps in the teeth.

One of the reasons why you should wipe the mouth clear if the foaming does appear so that you stop the saliva running back down the throat and nasal passages, which in the worst scenario, and particularly if the patient is on their back can effectively drown on their own saliva. Hence the reason why you need to wipe away as much as the “foaming” as you can.

Do not attempt to place your fingers in the mouth, unless the patient in a serious situation, such as having bitten/swallowed their tongue. A jaw can exert up to 32 tons per square inch- so your fingers would not stand a chance !

There are two ways of opening the jaw using pressure points but can cause problems; some times a hard slap on the back can throw the tongue forward, but in either situation is not something you do unless you really have to.

If a seisure last for more than 5 minuets, it is a medical emergency, and you should dial 911/ 999 and request an paramedic team as the patient will need oxygen and possibly “rectal diazepam” which is a drug that is squeezed in to the anus with a special bottle. This puts the very powerful drug in to the lower bowel, which has lots of capilleries which through a combination of osmosis and capillary action gets absorbed in to the blood stream very quickly and reduces the fit. The oxygen supply is required immediately after the seisure has stopped because the breathing has been infrequent, and probably not carried a lot of oxygen in the first place.
