The picture is becoming clearer. If indeed he jumped bail then this is as a result of failed agreement. There is a possibility that someone wasn't servicing his debt which propelled the bank to come hard on him in this manner. |
safarigirl:Fola Adeola owns GTB but even at that, this has nothing to do with politics/tribe. I am sure it's a business agreement/deal gone wrong. I doubt Deji's narrative though because he it would then make no sense for a service industry to invade the house of a man whom he has won against them TWICE, knowing that the Supreme court is still there to hear their case. For now, Google and co would not give concrete report, save in the coming days when everything would come to light. |
nairaman66:Thoughtful, but then again, this makes no sense. Before you finger Nigeria as a whole, when was the last time you asked your state's governor put up a town hall meeting to explain how she has been spending allocations and funds received from the federal government? When was the last time you held the Senator/Member, HoR representing your constituency accountable? When was the last time you charged your local government chairman/councillor to explain their plans for their immediate environment? Nigeria is not a failed state, very much contrary to your opinion. Your immediate leaders are failing because you keep fingering the country at large, rather than direct your grievances at them. |
Espada123:This is no longer trolling but cyber bullying. Things break down and fail. Even good things come to end and it takes just about a matured mind to think deeply, gather whatever is left and move on. |
kingfhaddo:So in your own life, you pray to secure a 25,000 capacity venue (rented, of course), with the hope filling the place up, only to have just 12,000 people in attendance. Note that Lil Keshi, Native/Small doctor, Yomi Sars, et al, would all be settled/balanced from the proceeds of ticket sales. We are yet to talk about logistics. Hiring a generating set, contracting a sound/technical company to see to the output of the speakers, hotel and accommodation of the other artistes even though the show is within Lagos. We should not rule out the DJ's fee as well before talking about his take home for the night. Also note that the tickets are as cheap as free and it would take 50k upwards to make sense out of ticket sales knowing that others must be duly settled. Now tell me, do you really think Olamide and his team would really be happy /smiling to the bank that the show was a success when it was clearly half full? How about we talk about why he would get a capacity ad that when he knew he could have gotten something else which would have cost lesser than what he paid for the stadium. Do the maths. |
REAL MADRID star Cristiano Ronaldo wants Barcelona to give his side a guard of honour ahead of Saturday's El Clasico clash. The 32-year-old scored the winner against Gremio last Saturday in the Club World Cup final - sealing their fifth trophy of 2017. https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/nintchdbpict000373528634.jpg?strip=all&w=960 And speaking immediately after the match against the Brazilian giants, the Portuguese international suggested the Catalan club pay their respects to Los Blancos. Ronaldo said: "It would be nice and I would like Barcelona to make for us the guard of honour." But his proposal was immediately knocked back by both Barca director Guillermo Amor, as well as boss Ernesto Valverde. Amor responded by saying: "We make it clear that we only do this when we participate in the competition. https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/nintchdbpict000373694888-e1513594777302.jpg?strip=all&w=960 "When we compete in the competition, we will do it but that is not the case. That's the way it is." While the ex-Athletic Bilbao manager said: "I haven't even paid it a thought." https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/5163241/cristiano-ronaldo-barcelona-real-madrid-guard-of-honour/ |
Real Madrid will face Barcelona for the 17th day of the Spanish event. The 'White House' is in the obligation to win in order not to lose the way to the Catalans. Real Madrid and Barcelona will face each other within a few days, by the 17th date of the Santander League. Clearly the azulgranas carry a remarkable advantage in the standings over the current world champions. However, Real Madrid will not be intimidated in the least against the leader of the Spanish championship. Precisely obtaining this tournament played in the United Arab Emirates will serve as an incentive to play as equal to Barcelona . The Spanish football classic will be on the eve of Christmas. The date agreed for the match is this Saturday, December 23 (07:00 am / Peruvian time) and will be broadcast on the ESPN signal. The stage that will host the mentioned meeting will be the legendary Santiago Bernabéu stadium. Playing at home will allow Real Madrid to have an additional bonus in the field, since it will receive the support of all its fans. Although that issue will not generate concern in Barcelona , because he is used to dispute duels in venues that are against him. In addition to count on Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez and Andrés Iniesta will serve enough to get ahead. https://elcomercio.pe/deporte-total/futbol-mundial/real-madrid-vs-barcelona-dia-hora-canal-clasico-noticia-482368

halmeyd:I know. He once claimed to be walking in the footsteps of the ACP and would want to be known as Yomi Shogunle. His real name is Abayomi Ekundayo but Yomi Shogunle, the name of the ACP has remained stuck on him. |
Ebuka's tailor would have come up with something better. ![]() The straps are way too much ![]() |
drunkpunk: Saheed9:https://i1.wp.com/tayotv.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Screenshot_273.png?resize=498%2C336 https://gistreel.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/olam9.jpg He is policeman in the Special Anti-Robbery Squad unit who doubles as a rapper. |
drunkpunk:Yomi Shogunle didn't announce a thing. Olamide and his management did on Yomi Shogunle's behalf. Yomi Shogunle is a member of the SARS Team in Lagos and also doubles as a rapper. His announcement as being one of the artistes to perform at OLIC4 offended a lot of people who believe Olamide is emotional unintelligent (I quite agree with them though). The twist is that Olamide has a huge fan base among Yahoo boys/cyber fraudsters who, on their own part have suffered in the hands of SARS. Simply put, Olamide threw his weight around SARS and his huge fan base diminished drastically, just days before OLIC 4. |
safarigirl:This would have been a two-year bragging rights if he had pulled it off. His head probably got bigger than his body. He should have just stuck to Eko Hotel again. |
safarigirl:See, don't argue with these guys. They prefer to console themselves with fantasies, rather than stare at the truth directly. He bragged about sold concerts in Lagos, Malaysia and the United but could not sell out a 25,000 capacity stadium this time. Perhaps Yomi Shogunle's announcement affected the turnout, perhaps not. PS: For those asking who Yomi Shogunle is, he is a SARS operative who doubles as a rapper in his spare time. https://gistreel.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/olam9.jpg |
kingfhaddo:It seems the meaning of the words 'sold out' is missing in your dictionary. For the record, a venue cannot be said to be sold out if it is not filled to the brim, and all tickets meant to be sold are sold completely. Enugu is saner and more peaceful than Lagos. Below are pictures of Phyno's sold out Phynofest just last month. www.nairaland.com/attachments/6284957_p_jpeg8fa53345052cf60d6b5438e4dbe9a709 www.nairaland.com/attachments/6284958_p2_jpeg2968aac941362234adf072828ec880c6 www.nairaland.com/attachments/6284959_p3_jpeg5be7932de55916dd84ecfe1c19a1993d |
Jupxter:At 24, many are still unrealistic. |
According to Southern City News after the elders rescued the man, they asked him to present them with six cartons of beer and some money, which they'd use to appease the gods of the land.Who drink the beer and spend the money, the elders or the gods? ![]() |
What's with her teeth? |
Hozier:Seems you're just getting to know OLIC then. It has become more of an annual event than a concert. Olamide stepped into a quicksand with the SARS thing. Most of his fans are... ![]() |
kingfhaddo:Tell this to Phyno. His Enugu show at the stadium was sold out. Nigerians are on edge and Olamide just gave them a reason to make him an upcoming act. |
safarigirl:This mentality is so wrong. Not all men drink, smoke or gamble, let alone LovePeddler. I strongly believe you've been getting too much parlour gists which are far from the truth in reality. |
ify2sladex:And I thought Muslims don't regard Paul because, according to you guys, 'his teachings are what Christians follow'. Just so you know, Paul's letter to the people of Corinth as seen in 11:6 is in reference to tradition and not religion. Customarily, women of that era covered their hair perfectly well. This runs far back as the OT, before the laws were handed to Moses. Also note that there was never a law that mentioned the covering of hair in the Bible. That said, you guys should understand that what the lady did was wrong. You cannot be holier than the God you're serving. The hijab has never been recognised or mentioned by the Law commission. Until then, it is wrong to don it with the law costume. |
kimbraa:Lol... The One Naira note had the face of Sir Herbert Macaulay. The single note could buy so many things way back. Funny how useless it has become. I still get coins as change till date but there seems to be an unconscious consensus about them not being part of money. |
safarigirl:Sadly, the daughters don't really call the shots when the lists are presented. The state government need to intervene, I believe. Selling off a child in the name of marriage and calling the same man to whom you sold the child to send you money to look after yourself isn't the right way to go. In the end, one would see that decisions as these are unhealthy because the said Mbaise is just about the way non Igbos and those who don't understand the culture measure all Igbos. |
safarigirl:You're on point but then it is surprising you didn't mention a thing about the said marriage list. Bride price in my place is N75 and the totality of a marriage list does not exceed N150k, save for cases the groom or his family intends to announce themselves. Asking a potential groom to provide certain items worth 800k ten years ago or now is nothing but sheer greed and not necessarily bent on tradition. Our values and cultures must by all means be preserved but there is a need to abolish some practices because they are detrimental to people, one of them is the female circumcision. And the excuse or reason for this? Just so a lady does not get excited over thoughts of sex and become loose afterwards. Female circumcision has been responsible for the frigidity of some women folks because their clits were severed. For the ones unlucky ones, they are damned by being rendered useless from ever becoming a woman because 'something went wrong'. That I believe it is high time I settled does it mean one useless family would think it is the perfect opportunity to cash in on their daughter. |
kelvinreality:Why not just take Taxify or the regular taxis directly to the park instead of the unnecessary stress? |
frenzyduchess:Lol! I personally don't fancy a lady cooking for me. As a matter of fact, I don't like it. I'd rather have it the other way around. The why is something I have been unable to find answers to. |
frenzyduchess: ![]() It is difficult keeping up guys who can cook because they would rather prefer their own over anyone's. |
Ishilove:3&4 ![]() |
frenzyduchess:Herein lies the problem. I doubt there is anything anyone would cook that would move me. Sadly, it is more of a curse than a blessing. You just have to envy those guys who can't tell the taste of ginger or garlic in meals vs meats and fishes that are marinated in them. |
Ishilove: ![]() I hate to admit it but I can relate to almost everything the OP listed, save one or two ![]() |
Gracious God! I've been preparing my mind against acrophobia since Monday just because I want to fly next week and now this ![]() Truly, the Akanu Ibiam runaway is bad but this should have been long attended to. The roads would congested for Pete sake. This is totally insensitive and unacceptable. |
