Rubbish! when Biafra was first declared we have had Azikiwe and Ironsi as head of the country, how come Biafra is our response to political marginalization you imagined happened in the 60s?

So far your tribe - the Urhobos have been local champions, over content with meagre 13 percent due to the fact that they dominate the state civil service and pulled strings in the state government, the Ijaws have always seen the bigger picture and reasoned farther. militants allegedly from their stock appear as though they are about to cause real change that will turn things around for the ethnic nationalities in the Niger Delta.

The Igbos have Asaba, Agbor, Kwale, PH - igweocha, Onitsha, Nnewi, Enugu, Owerri, Aba, Abakiliki... with a seperate country preferably, resource control and true federalism, there will be an enabling atmosphere and a drive to maximally utilize our vast resources.

I'm a proud Igbo man with Ika roots from Owa-Alizomor in Ika NE of present day Delta state.
Well, I saw this coming. Within the entire ND region, the Ijaws are mostly know for their lust for destruction, thuggery and oil bunkering. They largely champion the cause of any agitation, not as a voice, but as various groups largely responsible for standing up for personal interests. This best explains why the Urhobos would always come out with a different voice, just as is on FP about the Avengers being treated as saboteurs. Rather than mention places, both in the SS and the SE, why not just list out the states that may fall under Biafra should you need to associate with those involved. While you may brand Urhoboland as a regional champion, IT is far more influential in politics than the SE. This is indeed where the bitterness comes from. And if you claim to tell me that True Federalism is the drive of Biafra, why was Kanu's message all about breaking away instead of the latter? Ojukwu's sole purpose for Biafra from the outset is not a secret to most of us.

Millerz:
I am Urhobo and have always been against the Biafran thing but it is slowly and steadily dawning on me that the igbos are not our enemies; intact they are our true brothers.

In Nigeria as a whole, the Igbo's are the only group with the same interests with the Niger Delta. They want True Federalism, we want same. They have proven that they're not out for our resources. They supported our brother Jonathan even more than us and are still ready to support any Niger Deltan running for any political position.

In the ND, you can never hear of igbos clashing with other ethnic groups and that's largely because of the sense of oneness.

So I stand with Niger Delta seceding with Biafra.
I was about saying no true born Urhobo will align with Biafra. Urhobos consider everyone as one and the same as long as you don't shove them around. That the Igbos in the ND relate well with other groups within the region does not mean internal strife is absent. It's like a typical Urhobo man picking a Delta Igbo woman for a wife. His family will frown, not because he necessarily has to pick an Urhobo woman, but because Urhobos themselves believe they're very special. It explains why we are at logger heads with Isoko because we are invariably different despite the tiny similarity in language. The same applies to itsekiris and ijaws. The Urhobos consider themselves the elites of the SS.

Unfortunately, you're trying very hard to paint the Biafran cause as a meaningful one but it's not working. The sole purpose of Biafran have always been borne out of bitterness for being relegated to the background. Federalism is not the Biafran thing, unlike the ND.

They supported 'our brother' is a typical mentality of the Igbo people and the only reason why they are still lightweight in the political sphere. The SS, overtime, have always learnt to stand by those who stand with them and remember them. We, as a people, don't play the typical 'our brother' mentality. It has never been our thing.

Your post reeks of inexperience and naivety, save you're being mischievous for some reasons. Igbos who clamour for Biafra don't do so because they want True Federalism. They want what they want because they're bitter souls who wander aimlessly without a plan. The SS wants TRUE Federalism and resource control. IPODs and and Biafrans are largely saboteurs and would gladly align with hail stones as long as it threatens Nigerians and properties.

This is from an Urhobo man.

Is that the only supermarket in Abuja... It's not by force to patronize their business so keep moving.

People are just mentally bound.
If someone doesn't want to sell their goods for whatever to you then move on and stop quoting me..
Now it is glaring that not everyone is sensible enough to understand and act in this 21st century. It is quite unimaginable to believe a right thinking Nigerian would spew this as touching segregation and discrimination. The supermarket could as well be a sleeper cell (if you know what that means) for whoever. In your very own country, you have the right to enter wherever, irrespective of who they are, as long as you're going in there for a good reason. My dear, the only mentally bounded person who may likely end up being victimized successfully is none other than you. I hope you see that.

With such buffet after a day's fast, one would begin to question why people fast in the first place. The sole purpose of fasting is to draw closer to God, with the intent that you are putting your body under subjection by abstaining from what you love the most, as a sign of sincerity and all seriousness. It's a different ball game here. You eat pap+bean cake and eba combined with Five Alive and other things in the morning before embarking on the fast and you close the day eating all sorts of various food you haven't been eating on a normal day. It begs the question as to why they are fasting. I'm lost here.

Please ignore some of the charlatans gallivanting on the thread. I have been able to realize that Biafra war lords are claiming to be from the ND. No true son of the ND would blame another tribe for the state of his environment. Our problem is with the government and not the SW and the North as dukie25 and omeny are claiming. You're no different from the OP then. You blame Jonathan for his inability to transform Niger Delta yet ignore the challenges and obstacles that were put before him. How long would Jonathan have lasted if he concentrated on the Delta considering the SW and the north never gave him a chance from day one?
How come OBJ didn't transform Ogun state, he ruled for a total of 11yrs (3yrs in the 70s).
Those who wants to enslave you tells you to blame Tompolo while they celebrate their own thieves like Tinubu.
How come the Yorubas don't have "SELF HATE" like you and the OP?
Northerners ruled Nigeria for 40yrs and are still the poorest, how come they still root for their people to stay in power?
You're allowing local rivalry to becloud your judgement to see the bigger picture. I have enough intelligence not to listen to people like yourself suffering from "SELF HATE"
I sincerely thought I was engaged with some with an objective mind, not until I went through your posts. Now, please note that there is a huge difference between the SW the North combined and the SS. It is always easier for a Northerner and someone for the SW to become the President or Vice, than for the SS to come back. Why is this so? Zoning is the simple answer here. The SS is a minority group just as over 200 other groups in Nigeria. From your posts and this, it is safe for me to say you belong to the tribe that sing the 'our brother' chorus. Some of us have managed to move from tribal and sectional politics, unlike your classical OBJ Vs North Vs Local rivalry chant as seen in the post. This has been the primary reason why the so-called SE is a political baby as far as politics in Nigeria is concerned. When you becloud your judgement with sentiments, you would only assume you're intelligent enough to know where others are coming, whereas you don't.

The essence of this thread is to address or, perhaps discuss the ND which those of us who are from there know quite well, not spite and cry over the SW and the North. I have no issues with these regions and people because they are not the sole purpose of this thread. We had our own in government, what did he do and what was his contribution towards developing the ND?

Just so you know, you may successfully paint yourself as one from the ND but your posts and your direction point towards that of another region. The SS, as a people, do not have issues with either the SW or the North, rather, the governments, both in the past and present, that have plunged the region into a state of infinite abyss. Biafra and the movement of the ND are not one and the same, and that the SE hate the SW and the North for no just reason does not imply that the SS will follow suit. We are more rational and analytical in our approach.

You Don't Need Prophets: Niger Delta People's Suffering Is Just Beginning

You're Urhobo/Ikwerre and wishing we suffer in the Niger Delta?
Am sure your parents lied to you. You can't be from a place and wish the same place harm.
Even the north that produce our leaders for 40 of our 56yrs as a nation don't wish evil on their society.
I don't believe you're from the Niger Delta.
Another Urhobo man speaking: So all of a sudden, you realize a lot is wrong with our region, but never bothered to come here to complain when that idiot_ called Jonathan was there? A son if the creek was in office for five years and he pretended like we never existed. How about talking about the money meant for the good people of the region, particularly these core riverine areas being quashed by Tompolo Asari Domino, Boyloaf and a host of other thugs who perfectly diverted these resources to enriching their families? So because a Northerner is there now, we must realize that something is wrong with us and the problem is the FG who has seen one of our own there? Please wake up and don't be sentiment. The Biafra advocates here would cheer you but would any of them say the problem has been us ourselves? Trust me, the oil we have today would be our undoing if we breakaway. You would agree with me that we are nothing if the oil dries up. Secession will never guarantee us peace as the militants and their heads would seek to control the government.

Let us blame the FG for what is left of our region as saddening and heartbreaking, but then again, those who claimed to be fighting for us overtime have sat on the pipe to prevent the even flow of resources to the wretched ones in the riverine areas.

Where were you when RCCG embarked on the 100 days fast which clashed with the same scheme? Mesut Ozil observed the fast even as a footballer, very well at Real Madrid and ISIS did not ask La Liga to be suspended because one of their own in religion is fasting. You people are not the only ones to fast.

Perhaps they want it to be for pagans and Christians. Islam is fast becoming the proverbial white cock that must bend its neck to enter into a house where humans live in because it thinks it is that tall. Sorry to say this, but you people are some set of selfish folks.

So you think this act of theirs is exclusive to the North or Nigeria? An Artist Captured Sex Acts As Strangely Beautiful X-Rays

Very, very NSFW. Really fascinating work you don't want to miss, though. Wim Delvoye is a Belgian artist associated with the neo-conceptualism movement. He works primarily in a gothic style.

In 2001, Delvoye released a unique project in which he hired several people to perform sexual acts while being X-rayed.
Since its release, the project has been informally referred to as "Sex-Rays" by all English-speaking pun enthusiasts.

To complete the project, Delvoye enlisted the help of a radiologist and a medical X-ray clinic. The models are all friends of Delvoye.
Prior to taking the X-rays, Delvoye had his friends lightly paint themselves with barium, a contrast agent that helps body parts show up clearly in X-rays.

The X-rays vary in "explicit nature," but it's worth noting they focus much more on the male Instruments than the female anatomy. After completing the photographs, Delvoye hung them in gothic window frames, essentially turning them into stained glass windows.

By showing only the more or less machine-like parts of humans in the X-rays, the artwork depicts lust in an extremely sterile way.

Delvoye made sure to give his subjects space, observing from a screen in another room.

According to Delvoye, the whole process was "very medical, very antiseptic." Delvoye essentially stripped romance and sexuality of everything that makes it human.
The images certainly give an unusual—and perhaps slightly unsettling—take on both in-the-flesh sexuality and pornography.

It's like watching skeletons making love, which is not all that different from watching fully-fleshed humans make love—except, of course, all the muscle, skin and organs are missing.

You must have read the text that followed the pictures you lifted but chose, probably for only God knows what reasons, to promote something as this. I was quite lost until I followed the link and discovered what you posted are works of some disturbed human who describes himself as an artiste. It makes no sense, really. You could have even raised curiosity from the post by giving it a more meaningful headline, rather than pretend not to know what the pictures were all about. You shouldn't post everything you take from a site, no matter how intriguing or interesting it is. This is a forum with no age restriction and you have successfully given weak minded teens and children who use this forum something to take home and put their head about. I can only imagine someone recommending their kids to follow you on the forum to know about nature, life and all, and then they get to see. This is disappointing. I'm sure you can do better.

Christianity Etc › Re: If God Created Only Adam And Eve,how Did Others Come About by Sanchez01(m): 12:29pm On May 08, 2016
I once answered this here on Nairaland...

I'm here to learn

Hehehehe! The topic is somewhat tricky though... I pray God helps me out in trying to explain this.

The Bible skipped many details for reasons known. These details included the growing up of some characters, the specific number of children, the number of years when something took place. Though not all but some... For example, the Bible never told us the developmental stage of Adam when he was formed by God, i.e, we were never told if he was formed to the teen level, youth level or adult stage. We assume he was formed straight into the adult stage. Also, the Bible never specified how long Adam and Even spent in Eden before eating from the tree which caused their downfall. These are just some of the details that were skipped, probably the need to include them was not necessary.

However, the assumption seems to be that Cain and Abel were the first two children of Adam and Eve. Although Cain does seem to be the firstborn, the text is not clear that Abel was the second born, but only that he was the second son. Later, the narrative indicates that Adam and Eve produced "other sons and daughters." So, it is possible that Adam and Eve produced daughters between the births of Cain and Abel. It is also likely that others sons and daughters were produced after the birth of Abel. We don't know how old Cain and Abel were when Cain murdered his brother because that part was also skipped as many other parts in the Bible, but they seem to be at least young adults, since they are both engage in a trade for their living.

The second thing one notices is Cain's seeming paranoia about being found and revenge being taken against his for killing Abel. The only way this makes sense is if the brothers and sisters of Abel were upset that Cain had killed their brother (you could remember that he was scared that Abel might be avenged). Although the period of time between the birth of Cain and the death of Abel is not given in the Bible, it would seem that this period was probably over 100 years, since the birth of Adam's next son, Seth is said to have occurred when Adam was 130 years old. Adam and Eve could have produced many daughters during that period of time.

So, the Genesis narrative suggests that Cain had other brothers and sisters when he was exiled by God. One of those sisters married Cain (or more likely had already been married to Cain when he killed his brother), became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch somewhere east of Eden. The next problem that arises is the claim that Cain "built a city." To us, in the 21st century, this evokes images of skyscrapers and high density housing. However, the original Hebrew word, translated "city," merely had the meaning of a place that was guarded by a watch or with a wall. At its minimum, the Hebrew root referred to an encampment or post. So, it is entirely possible that Cain could have built such a "city."

Skeptics have pointed out that the only viable solution to the problem of Cain's wife (Cain marrying his sister) suffers from theological problems, since close relations were not allowed to marry according to Jewish law. However, all of these events happened before the law was given. According to the Apostle Paul, when there is no law, there can be no violation of the law or sin. So, since the law against incest was not given until thousands of years later, there was no theological problem with Cain marrying his sister.

Just like Cain took one of his sisters for a wife, it would have been possible that the other sons did the same and made for themselves a settlement which was described as a 'city' in the Bible. Just like I pointed out above, the 'city', according to Jewish traditions them, was a settlement of people which is fenced or properly defended from outsiders. So it could be right to say that was the say thing the Bible referred to but the use of the word 'city' is wrongly rendered, obviously, because it does not project the proper mental image of a city in our minds.

Conclusively, inbreeding was not condemned until thousands of years later after the laws were made, and that best explain how the descendants of Adam were able to multiply. smiley

Business › Re: Banning Forex Trading And Sports Betting Promotion by Sanchez01(m): 3:10pm On May 03, 2016
In as much as I care less about Sport betting, it would be a wrong move to ban it. Those who engage in it know what they're up against. You giving reasons why it should be banned is just like saying Nairaland is planning on banning people who does not believe in God because they will run others down with their ideology. If anyone lose on sports bet, they will not cry to Nairaland. Just like someone asserted, those who engage in are accountable enough. Why ban something that is legal in the first place?

And when someone kills their cows, they'll say Fulani herdsmen are peaceful people.

The Igbo's foresaw all this but the our Yoruba brothers who'd rather listen to a drug dealer at Bourldin road refused to adhere - Put a terrorist in charge and other terrorists will go on rampage.

Anyway, this doesn't stop the cows from being shared among the less privileged in Umuahia. The DSS can discover their owners in shallow graves in Umuahia forest much later. cool
It is clearly evident that most of you IPOB warlords on here would readily heap blames on Yorubas because they sent the Fulanis to you guys. It is quite evident too that you people hardly think. After the killings and all, all what comes to your mind is that their cows be killed as revenge. What is cow compared to human liveshuh This was the way you guys hailed yourselves after some Awgu youth killed some Fulani cows after recording death on their part. You all should understand that life is not just about revenge. The Hausa-Yoruba fight that took place in Lagos came and left in a hurry because the Yorubas bear no ill mind towards their perceived enemies.

I have been in Awgu in Enugu since last week. I left there just on Saturday and I will tell you that the people in the community are cowering in fear of being attacked for no just cause by the same Fulanis. They're demons and don't care about their very own lives. They revel in killing and maiming and you coming on here to brag when you're clearly not in that old woman's shoes, as seen in the video, shows you are in a comfortable zone, far away from where these herdsmen are. What happens if they return in their hundreds to attack an entire community, will you be there?

My point exactly, the Fulani menace is not new and has never been. They have been around for a very long time. The difference here is just the social media that is more alive now than ever. Best thing to tell these people is that they look on in their helpless state. Nothing much can be done, save the president steps in.
