I don't mean to spark a war, please. I made that claim because a Muslim friend told me this while in school. He claimed to have seen some Clerics around him use it. I tried to ask him to give descriptions of the book, but said the Cleric claimed the book is sacred and not something to be toyed with.
Christianity Etc › Re: Who Are The Twenty-four (24) Elders In The Book Of Revelation? by Sanchez01(m): 6:09pm On Apr 15, 2015
jcross19:
in heaven they are nine hierarchy of government which the angels -arch angels-power - dominion - virtue-thrones - cherub - seraphim - God himself,so the thrones are 24 elders in heaven that rule over kingdoms in heavens even before the foundation of earth was made. In genesis 1:26 these HE refer to let make a man in "OUR" own image. When they refer God king of kings do you think those are only earthly kings? Even in heavens they are kings as well rule over by one king.
When God said "Let's make man in OUR image and after OUR likeness..." He was referring to Himself (The Godhead and Father), Jesus (The Son - John 1-5) and His Spirit (Gen 1).

To verify this, 1 John 5:7-8 verifies this, saying

"
For there are three that bear record in
heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy
Ghost: and these three are one.
And there are three that bear witness in
earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the
blood: and these three agree in one."

Having established this, it would then be impossible to say the Elders were around at the beginning of Creation because they were only mentioned in Revelations.

gatiano:
The 24 Elders are actually A UNION CALLED GOD OR ALLAH. There are 12 Men Elders and 12 Women Elders. Every person has a complement. We come in pair "male and female".
Out of the 24 Elders, One of them is the leader who is the patriach of this 25000 years cycle (we are on the 15,101 year), The next Leader WILL BE a Woman.

12 couples (12 men and 12 women).
Each couple choose 12 helpers each which makes it 12 by 12 = 144. Those are the 144 chiefs (72 males and 72 females).

Each chief choose for themselves 1000 helpers, 144 by 1000 = 144000 thus the Judges in the bible (72000males and 72000females).

24 Elders are The custodians of the cosmic unity
144 Chiefs are the custodians of all universal force and energy
144000 Judges are the custodians of life and reality manifestation.

Who then is that one on the Throne?
PLEASE, DO NOT BLASPHEM!

Another problem is the combination of churches. Although God is present in every Church but for certain reasons, the founders of these churches have modeled their vision/mission after certain beliefs; one we call "doctrine".

The doctrines of these three churches vary and could end up creating confusion when you leave one for the other. Above all, make up your mind to attend a Bible believing church first, be sure their doctrine centres and preach Holiness and Heaven.

In addition, it might be very difficult for you to study all alone without getting bored and uncomfortable. Start a church, listen to messages from seasoned men of God, attend Christian gatherings than ever before and join a group in the church then attempt a one-year Bible plan. Believe me, you'll experience a God-kind of fellowship within a short period of time.

For the sake of knowledge, I was tempted to go after the book sometimes ago but I was warned by people around not to try because most of those who read the books often end up nuts.

Demonic is not the word to use, just that the book is fetish and contains dark powers. Some modern day Muslim clerics use it. Funny.

Why don't you ask for a separate government or regional structure so that Lagos will be fully your and your share the proceeds and benefits from your cup-in-hand beggarly mud caves.

If you guys build Lagos why won't you replicate another lagos in your mud apparitions.

Bros,

I'd rather you went straight to your points, but your retort and critique on skillful writing is ironic as you made blunders which you seemingly accused Omatseye of.

First off, I will not bother requesting for verification of the name of the Yoruba book you claimed you saw with a 12 year old on the history of Igbos. A simple check on all Yoruba literature used in schools and approved by state ministries of education will show that no such book exist. Will you rather now blame a nation for some printouts that was of no known academic background? I do not claim the mastery of the skill of writing, but I know simply logic does not permit these errors of generalization and quoting from on verified sources.

For me I think the lessons that should be learnt is hardly learnt and we keep making the same mistakes all over. Let me just say a few;
1. When we don't respect each other; or better still we outrightly ridicule each other's tribes, the embers of discord will keep growing. Considering the number of unsavory things I see on NL as reflective of some collective positions of the divide is scary
2. This feeling of "they hate me, so I hate them" will not make the problem go away
3. I think well meaning Igbos should tell their folks to back off the issue of "Lagos, a no man's land". It has not worked, neither will it. It will only incur more ill-feeling and I dare say it's senseless and disrespectful of Lagosians.
4. We have a collective responsibilities of passing the right values to our children.

On the Oba's comment's, well Igbos were obviously agitated, but wisdom at times tells us we are circumspect in our reaction and take paths that are expedient. If we're careful enough we should have handled it better collectively kill the matter quickly. We are probably going battle with dousing the smoke of this issue that will last another few more long years
God bless you for this! You sincerely took the words right from my thoughts.
Politics › Re: Who Owns Lagos? By Sam Omatseye by Sanchez01(m):
Chiefpriest1:
This divisive write-up is totally unnecessary. We know who owns lagos. The yoruba people do. People should stop fanning the embers of disunity for their selfish interest.

Omatseye should calm down abeg. By the way the man who's writing is not even yoruba, but itsekiri.

Op, pls add the source, I guess its the nation newspapers
Yes, Sam Omatseye is an Itsekiri man, and so also the Guild of Editors at The Nation. Being a man from the SS and a someone who is born the SW, the article is much needed. The Yorubas are the most accommodating of all the tribes. They throw away differences and stand behind you whether your root is known or not.

I could remember meeting Omatseye on several occasions. The rapport between him, Gbenga Omotosho, Lekan Otunfoduri, the online new editor, is examplary. I know the three and I believe this article, coming from a third party is needed. I'm not tribalist or whatsoever but I believe the gentility of the Yorubas are being taken for a ride.

The Yorubas often make me forget my roots and at no point in my life has anyone of them insulted me as not being one of them. Jonathan and Agbaje really succeeded in reminding us who we really are, this, I believe, is our root cause. Oba Akiolu, though, went far but I honestly do not blame him.

My Yoruba friends who served in the SE narrated on several occasions of how a Champions League night is so disturbing. They are often reminded as being Yorubas and called "N.gbati"( the word has been substituted for Yoruba on the forum) people. I strongly feel some of the ethnic tribes in the SW are way too comfortable such that ownership claims are the next on their agenda. Modakeke and Ife comes to mind, but that's a bit different because both are Yorubas.

Regardless, being defined by ethnicity and religion in a country of over 160 million people is bad. The need to be cohesive, not only in the SW but also in the North, the SE and the SS is paramount. At the long run, we would say Nigeria binds and defines us.

Though the elections is wrapping to a near end, the eventual war winner of this is no doubt the All Progressive Congress, adding the Presidential Cup to their trophy haul and a whole lot of new states, and also, not forgetting that the party has produced the first female governor in the history of the country.

Regardless, one must thank FFK, AIT and NTA and CAN for the diverse propaganda aired and preached for the purpose of beating down their fiercest rival - APC.

From the Buhari hate campaign to the Lion of Bourdillon attack, one would think that the once almighty PDP was the opposition party. Though the documentaries caused certain damages to Tinubu and his family, the same could not be said for General Muhammadu Buhari, who was clearly the hope Nigeria needed.

Rather than focus on its campaign and target, the PDP, through its media partners ceaselessly attacked the opposition. The height of desperation it was termed.

Little did the PDP and Jonathan realize that the battle was not about GMB but with the people who once trusted him.

Having forged alliance along ethno-religious lines, a one time loved president needed permutations to emerge victorious against a man seeking to "Islamize" Nigeria.

Rather than remain gullible and vote a man who 'loves his people', electorates stood by a former dictator who had 'cancer', a rocky accent, a strategist bent on "Islamizing" Nigeria and a man without school 'certificates.'

The disgrace of Doyin Okupe comes to mind. A man who planned on causing further damages to GMB was left shouting "He (Buhari) can never rule Nigeria!" After his crowd turned on him to shout "Change."

With the prize of all, Lagos and the Aso Rock being captured by the APC, the PDP failed to drive home its propaganda to electorates who had long been short-changed and were willing to vote out a weak but 'humble' president.

PDP comfortably played the opposition as a ruling party and they had their wish - become an opposition for the next four years. Beyond propaganda, character assassination and fake alliances, GMB, Tinubu and the APC have soared than then expectation of the PDP and a man who once said he would change his name if APC stands for a year.

A friend said to me today "I had a vision and I saw Agbaje becoming the next Governor of Lagos." Initially I wasn't interested in the debate but I was compelled to ask certain questions. "Did the vision categorically mention Agbaje" I asked. "No, what I saw points to him." I found it funny and I asked what he saw. According to him, "My vision had six letter words, the person in question is a Christian and his name starts with 'A' and ends with 'E'."

I smiled knowing he had not done his research. "Look" I replied. "Agbaje is a Christian, true. His name has six letters with the first being 'A' and the last 'E' but so also is Ambode who is a Christian. His name is six lettered as that of Agbaje and the name starts with 'A' and ends with 'E'. So what are you saying?"

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu on Sunday conceded defeat to Sen. Jibrilla Bindow of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission chairman said he took his loss in good faith because leadership is a product of God’s anointment.
Ribadu made his position known in a concession address to the people of the state.
He said: “My dear people of Adamawa State, I greet you in the best form of greetings. I had dreamt of coming back home to lead our dear state to greater strides after years of underdevelopment.
“I started this journey in August last year and successfully got the mandate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) to fly its flag for the April 11 gubernatorial election. I came into this race knowing fully well that political contests are two-way traffics – one either wins or loses.
“As a man of faith, I was also aware that leadership responsibility is a product of God’s anointment.
“In the course of this journey, I have seen genuine support and encouragement from the people of Adamawa State.
“Several individuals from Adamawa and beyond contributed generously to keep the campaign going and many others devoted their time, energy and intellect to see to the success of this project. I sincerely appreciate this belief in my person and my ambition.
“The support I got from my party’s leadership and individual members from President Goodluck Jonathan down to the party agents in our polling units was overwhelming and gratifying.
“The party leader in the state, Barrister Bala James Nggilari and the state party chairman, Chief Joel Madaki led their lieutenants in making this journey memorable.”
Ribadu said he had no choice than to accept the preference of the majority for Bindow.
He added: “I came into this race with lofty dreams and clear vision for our dear state, but the voice of the majority has not given me this chance. I take this in good faith.
“I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the winner and pray that at the end of it all our dear state will witness the needed progress and development it so much desires. God bless Adamawa State, God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
