Politics › Re: Lekki Tollgate Shooting: LCC Submits Footage To Judicial Panel by Sanchez01(m): 2:19pm On Nov 03, 2020
Paperwhite:
It must obviously be the edited copy.Fashola have contaminated the whole thing with his charade discovery of a hidden cam
What Fashola 'discovered' was a Bosch LTC 0630/21 Dinion surveillance camera without its lens. It is useless if the lens is missing or not attached. However, expect the footage to be tampered with already as there is no way Tinubu will allow his LCC submit the true footage of that night to the panel. Doing so will reveal who exactly invited the soldiers and even audio recordings prior that night, just as the army suddenly turned to finger Sanwo-Olu as the person who invited them.

Buhari and his band of politicians are shameless that much and they wouldn't mind sinking themselves just to sink another. Buratai had initially admitted he was unbothered over a travel ban. Fashola was only the class clown in all of these and it is so sad he allowed himself to be the object of ridicule in the manner it played out.

Politics › Re: Lekki Tollgate Shooting: LCC Submits Footage To Judicial Panel by Sanchez01(m):
There is no denying that the footage must have been tampered with already. Emerging stories will surround power outage at the toll gate and the military will walk free even though they have indicted the governor and themselves. No way in hell Tinubu will allow his own LCC submit the actual footage of the massacre. If the panel depends on the footage to make any sane case on the happenings of that night, then the case is lost.

Here's something to consider:

1. Tinubu owns the LCC.
2. Sanwo-Olu denied not knowing about the power outage at Lekki that night.
3. The military denied ever being there.
4. Sanwo-Olu indicted the military on CNN.
5. The military in an attempt to clear itself fingered Sanwo-Olu as the person who asked them to intervene but did not shoot at protesters and only shot blanks.
6. After being fingered, Sawno-Olu became dumb and has since stayed that way when he ought to counter the army.

Note that Sanwo-Olu at Alausa 'protested' with the youths and 'took the 5for5 demands to Abuja' to see Buhari.

7. All the time the protest was on, Tinubu's LCC was daily losing huge amount of money before the soldiers came in.

It was all about securing the toll gate for Tinubu and dispersing awakened youths the Northen oligarchs feared would shame and humiliate Buhari out of office. Buhari's government needed the youths off the street and Tinubu needed off the toll gate.

LCC is messing with people here. As the true company of Tinubu, expect them to say their cameras never captured the unfortunate event at Lekki that night.

Modified

LCC MD claims their cameras stopped record around 8:00 PM. Not surprised at all.

Nigeria cannot 'shut' down the social media. The country is too backward to be that innovative. Plus, it is unrealistic for a bunch of analogue-minded people to think they can pull it off in this age and time, and worse, against a 'phone pressing' generation.

You are confusing yourself, not me. The highlighted portion is wrong.

In fact, Yahaya Bello did a perfect job by gathering signatures to recall him.
How you contradicted yourself on this is beyond me. YB gathered signatures which were used to petition the INEC chairman over Dino's recall. It worked. Voters didn't turn up but the State government was clearly 'everywhere' and resorted to using dead folks as voters during the exercise.

But what happened, it failed because two-third of the REGISTERED VOTERS MUST VOTE in the recall exercise.

How do you gather them when half of the names on voters list are simulated voters?
The emboldened in your post was the major discrepancy recorded during the recall. Again, there is no herculean task in the recall process as enshrined in the constitution, which was what set off this argument; gather signatures, petition the INEC chairman and the recall process is set in motion. How 'herculean' is that?

By the way, could you please point to your own version of the 'constitution' which makes the recall process 'nearly impossible'?
Politics › Re: Amuwo Odofin Youth Blast Lawmaker, Alli-macaulay, Call For Immediate Recall by Sanchez01(op): 2:26pm On Nov 01, 2020
Moferere:
Go back and study the constitution. Recall is an herculean task.
I stand to be corrected.
The recall process in contained in SECTION 110 OF THE 1999 CONSTITUTION. That the process is difficult does not make it 'nearly impossible'. Remember that Dino Melaye barely escaped a recall, all thanks to the discrepancies of the Yahaya Bello-led government. A petition to the INEC Chairman can be done within three days and the process can be started in less than two, at most three weeks.

The Kogi State process against Dino wasn't even difficult, considering the fact that he was a senator. This is a bloody House of Assembly member and the whole thing wouldn't even waste time as that of a Senator.

A recall is very much doable. All you need to set it in motion is for the people to petition the INEC Chairman. The commission will set the ball rolling while the people only need to come out enmasse to embarrass the politician by choosing a 'yes' during the referendum.

Don't be deceived, recall is nearly impossible, going by Nigeria's constitution
This is wrong. I'd understand if you said a recall is nearly impossible owing to our type of politics but basing your claim around the constitution is totally wrong.

There is a laid out process for recall a lawmaker in Nigeria. And that the people have never activated it does not mean it is not backed by the constitution.

The INEC Chairman first needs to receive a petition before the process can be started. The constitution is clear on how to go about this.

This awakening among Nigerian youth is beautiful! All of a sudden, people have come to realize that they actually have the power to get things done and make things happen if they speak with one voice.

Our beautiful Indomie thief had forgotten that she was to act in the interest of people even though Tinubu gave her the platform to be seen. I would love that Surulere folks start the recall process of Desmond Elliot as well. He has nothing to offer and has shown that he is ready to please Tinubu at all cost by actively speaking against the youths in the House then turn around to cry and sweat on National TV saying he didn't mean what he said.

Alli-Macaulay's recall may or may not materialize but this is a step in the right direction. If you are not willing to act in the interest of people you've chosen to serve, then get out of the way and allow someone else do it.

How can someone be hoarding Indominnnn? angry

Amuwo Odofin Youth Blast Lawmaker, Alli-Macaulay, Over Comments On Young People, Call For Immediate Recall

The youth said the comment by the lawmaker that Nigeria’s young people were high on hard drugs was inciting and aimed to malign the good intentions of young men and women in reforming the country.

The Amuwo Odofin Stakeholders Consultative Forum has berated Lagos Assembly member, Mojisola Alli-Macaulay, over her comments ascribing the destruction of properties to peaceful protesters.

The group in a statement by Kingsley E. Nwanze, Convener, Amuwo Odofin Intelligentsia, and Gbenga N. Akinbinu, NYCN, Amuwo Odofin Chapter, said young people in the community stopped thugs from attacking businesses during the violence that broke out in Lagos recently contrary to claims by the lawmaker.

The youth said the comment by the lawmaker that Nigeria’s young people were high on hard drugs was inciting and aimed to malign the good intentions of young men and women in reforming the country.

The statement reads, “In respect of gross misrepresentation of the constituents of Amuwo Odofin Constituency One (1) in Lagos State House of Assembly by Mrs Mojisola Kehinde Alli Macaulay. We woke up to see a viral video where she alleged that Nigerian youth were high on hard drugs. According to her, this action has resulted in the sudden consciousness of Nigerian youth on social media.

“This statement is not only inciting but also callously targeted at maligning the good intentions of peaceful Nigerian youth in birthing a Nigeria that works in the interest of all her citizens.

“We would like to state emphatically, that we are not in support of destruction of properties by hoodlums. It is on record that Amuwo Odofin youth protected all business premises within the local government and they were highly commended by well-meaning Nigerians including the Executive Chairman of the local government council, Engr (Dr) Valentine Oluwaseyi Buraimoh.

“It is unfortunate that our representative at the Lagos State House of Assembly did not have a good grasp of the positive contributions of Amuwo Odofin youth during the crisis that ravaged other parts of Lagos State.

“It is more saddening to hear that our representative is joining a bandwagon in regulating the social media space for selfish reasons. Nigerian youth are synonymous with social media and that has been the only available platform to vent their frustrations and misgivings about government irresponsibility.

“Our representative made an attempt to draw a comparison with the United Kingdom on mitigating youth unemployment. But unfortunately, she did not mention the several cushioning programs designed by the United Kingdom Government to mitigate the challenges resulting from youth unemployment.”

The group, therefore, called for her immediate recall from the Lagos State House of Assembly.

“We seize this opportunity to inform the global community and Nigerian populace that our representative has not in any way made an attempt to sponsor or support bills aimed at addressing youth unemployment in Lagos State.

“The following under-listed are the grounds for her immediate recall from the Lagos State House of Assembly.

“She does not have a functional constituency office as required by law within the constituency for almost two years in office.

“She has not prepared any bill aimed at improving the lives of her constituents and by extension Lagos State.

“Her continuous representation is totally against the wellbeing of her constituents.

“It was widely circulated on major social media platforms that she used COVID-19 palliative items as gifts at her last birthday party.

“She has refused to give her account of stewardship at the Lagos State House of Assembly since she assumed office.

“She has also religiously remained inaccessible since she assumed office.

“These grounds have given impetus to the commencement of legal proceedings in recalling her as our representative at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

“This document is signed on behalf of the good people of Amuwo Odofin Stakeholders Consultative Forum.”

I'm yet to see the video though and i didn't support the stupid actions of the senseless army.

My worry is why are the concerned families are yet to talking about it, one week plus after.
You shouldn't have commented since you are yet to see videos of the massacre. People who came out to protest are the regular, some 9-5 folks who are most likely the breadwinners of their family. And there is no denying that most of them live alone. There is every possibility that their families had no idea they joined in the protest. The poor have no voice in Nigeria, save it is collective and done in unison, such as that of the protest.

The military did kill people and took some bodies with them. There are still so many missing person tweets on Twitter almost every day. If we are to go by your idea, perhaps no one was killed at all since some families took the bodies of their people but never came online to record, wail or cry.
Politics › Re: Army Secretly Moved 20 Lekki Massacre Victims To IDH Mortuary - Sahara Reporters by Sanchez01(op):
HundHunter:
Huh?.....and the victim families and friends didn't missed them to raised alarm about it.
1. Soldiers truly shot at protesters and people were killed.
2. Soldiers carted away bodies that night (There are video evidences of soldiers freely walking into the midst of protesters to take away bodies).
3. We all watched how someone died during the live session of DJ Switch after being hit by a bullet.
4. Bullet shell casings were also found the next day.
5. Several were wounded and rushed to the hospital.
6. Sanwo-Olu initially said no one died but later came around to say only two persons were confirmed dead. (What killed them?).
7. The military denied ever been at the Lekki toll gate that night. As a matter of fact, they planted badges and ranks on the scene after they left.
8. If families aren't coming out, it is because they are either scared or not living close to the dead victims to even suspect they went to protest.
9. Several missing person cases took over Twitter 3 days after the Lekki onslaught and families were directed to several hospitals which took in these victims.

There is no denying that the Nigerian Army, through the soldiers, took away bodies that night, possible to reduce the outrage of the military killing unarmed protesters in modern age.

What's worse is that the event of that was premeditated and carefully executed. First, they took out cameras, then cut off power around the area to prevent people from recording their atrocities. We all saw videos of on and off the scene of that night.

Anyone with a straight head knows there is a massive cover-up attempt by the government. People were shot at; people were killed and soldiers took bodies away that night.
Politics › Re: Army Secretly Moved 20 Lekki Massacre Victims To IDH Mortuary - Sahara Reporters by Sanchez01(op):
The Nigerian Army, in conjuction with this present government didn't expect the outcry to be this loud. They were very desperate to disperse protesters and thought brute force coupled with senseless killings will send people back to reset mode, which is the typical docile nature of Nigerians. First, they denied ever being at Lekki that night, while Sanwo-Olu indicted them and Buhari on CNN. Buratai had initially boasted that a travel ban on his person wouldn't mean anything because he made his first international travel at 50+.

Seeing that the heat was becoming unbearable, the NA confessed Sanwo-Olu requested for their intervention but that they did not shoot at all. Knowing he had been roped in, Pointus lost his voice immediately and has since remained dumb despite the growing calls for the release of the CCTV footage of that night. The pressure on Sanwo-Olu was why the FG sent in a former governor (Fashola) to discover a Bosch LTC 0630/21 Dinion surveillance camera without a lens at the 'crime scene'.

The initial narrative was to make the 'discovered' camera the lead evidence of the Lekki Massacre while the excuse would be that the CCTV cameras at the toll gate were not powered on as a result of the blackout. The plan was to sell a 'damaged camera' narrative since it was 'found' at the scene of the crime. The end game was to avoid the obvious truth; people were killed and the military took away bodies.

The international community is watching and the government must sell a believable narrative to sane, angry Nigerians and its allies. The government never thought this twist would be as weighty as this.

SaharaReporters gathered that the Lekki massacre victims were moved to the IDH mortuary after a postmortem examinations was conducted on their bodies at the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

At least 20 bodies of EndSARS protesters massacred at Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos by operatives of the Nigerian Army on October 20, 2020, were on Friday secretly moved to the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) mortuary in Yaba.

SaharaReporters gathered that the Lekki massacre victims were moved to the IDH mortuary after a postmortem examinations was conducted on their bodies at the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

The IDH mortuary is beside the 68 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital (68 NARHY), a military health facility in Yaba.

SaharaReporters recall that soldiers had last week Tuesday opened fire on the protesters, who had converged at the Lekki Toll Gate to protest against police brutality.

The incident triggered a global outrage, with calls for justice echoing from different parts of the world.

It was gathered that before the shooting started, some officials uninstalled the Closed Circuit Television cameras in the area.

The electricity at the protest area was also disconnected to prevent demonstrators from filming the attack.

Minutes later, heavily armed Nigerian Army personnel moved into the scene to complete the plan.

By the time sounds of their guns died down, dozens of protesters had been killed.

Though Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, blamed ‘forces beyond our control’ for the attack, the Army in a statement later revealed that the soldiers were invited to the scene of protest by the governor.

Also soldiers involved in the operation confirmed they were drafted in for the mission on the request of the governor.

The soldiers, who were deployed from 65 Battalion, Bonny Camp, Victoria Island, Lagos, told some victims’ relatives after dumping some of the injured and dead at MRS Hospital that they were sent by Sanwo-Olu.

While the governor insisted that there were only two recorded deaths and no bloodstain at the scene of the protest, military sources told SaharaReporters that no fewer than 30 protesters died as a result of the shooting.

Meanwhile, a human rights advocacy group, Amnesty International, has released a timeline of the Lekki shootings, which it said followed an on-the-ground investigation into the incident.

In the timeline published on Wednesday, the rights groups said it uncovered how soldiers from Bonny Camp opened fire on protesters.

The new timeline of the incident chronicled from how the protest was peaceful, through the firing of gunshots, and up to the statement from Governor Sanwo-Olu that the army was responsible for the shooting.

Amnesty International said its investigation had confirmed that the Nigerian Army and police killed peaceful protesters in Lagos.

US can’t veto anything!

The rules stated that, all member states must have a consensus or rally around a single candidate at this stage for that candidate to prevail.

So if any single member state disagrees at this stage like US has done, they will move to the next stage, which is member states will state lobbying and influencing other states to back their prefer candidate, this is the consultation stage.

If after consultation, there is still no consensus candidate or non of the two candidates dropped off, it goes for a final vote and the winner of that vote will be about pointed.
DO NOT ABUSE THE WORD 'VETO'. The United States already vetoed (negated or opposed) her candidature. All that is left is to flex the power, which I am not sure they have the power to do.

I am not knowledgeable as to what happens when a candidate is opposed during the WTO selection process but the one thing I know is that the US will frustrate NOI if they cannot remove her. It is always about interest to the US.

It is not a racial issue but ideals. Trump's approach to trade negates that of the WTO and NOI. He has a narrow view on trade which has worked for him a lot. Bitter truth indeed!

Not all single mothers led a wayward life.

There are some ladies who are victims of sexual violence and choose not to abort the resultant pregnancies.

There are also some ladies who got thoroughly deceived by the men who promised them heaven and earth. Some even got married but the men abandoned them.
Whether they were thoroughly deceived or not, it doesn't change the fact that single mothers are human and deserve all the help they can get, if one is a place of strength to assist them. We have all made mistakes in the past, male or female and that we don't have any visible ish that tells of our past does not make us better than them.

Plus, these single mothers never impregnated themselves. They were assisted by irresponsible men. If we were all to be burdened with a child for every wrong turn we took at some point in life, the average human will have nothing left than 5-10 kids to fend for the rest of his or life.

I personally believe in second chances a lot. The issue for me is a single mother who still acts like a hoodlum when she ought to pick herself and press the restart button.

Using the Scripture only makes Reno very funny because the Bible mentioned forgiving 70x7 times. We have all made mistakes in life and that does not exclude Reno.
