Barcelona can be ugly to watch when they need a goal. Imagine over 5 Barcelona players begging for a penalty. ![]() |
Morata needs to be taken off. It seems the dude is on a mission to soil Ronaldo's return to Spain tonight. ![]() |
Fourth ref has racially abused Demba Ba in Paris. The match has been suspended. Ref don buy market ![]() |
Good play by Messi. He would need to do sha. Na Buffon dey goal post. ![]() |
Manchester United... Thursday night football welcomes you! |
It is pointless comparing Ronaldo to Messi. Prime Messi was something to behold but both Prime Ronaldo and old are a big problem to any team. Ronaldo is a vibe. I see him scoring more goals tonight. |

MeeztaFabulouz:In all of these, I didn't read anywhere that you confronted her and made her admit those things you saw. Even if the marriage is winding up, you owe it to her to let her understand why you want out. She is a cheat, maybe not. That depends on whatever it is you saw, imagined and her very own words against the seeming evidence you have. Confront her with your findings and decide whether or not she leaves based on what you have found out and how you are feeling. She prolly doesn't understand why you are acting the way you are right now, even though she might be a cheat or a serial one. Therefore it is necessary to bring her up to speed. Your narrative suggests communication has always been missing in your home but you unfortunately filled the vast void with money, thinking and believing that it will cover and fit perfectly. I have been there and I can tell money corrupts even the best of females when they are indulged. On suicide, it isn't worth it. You probably feel that way because your expectations of her and the marriage were very high, maybe unrealistic. Look at it this way, she allegedly cheats under your roof, imagine what would happen if you die. She will live her life and forget about you the moment the perfect distraction comes. Stop with the unnecessary tension in the home. Lay everything bare and make her understand your position. Dying on the inside while you build up anger and uncomfortably grow your depression isn't the way to go. You are weak, yes, but for your sanity and mental health, tackle the problem head on. You already made mistakes. Don't make another. |
tohby2:Two things you can do; 1. Admire the pictures in peace and scroll on OR 2. Screengrab or download the pictures he/she uploads and move to Twitter to buy from serious vendors. |
Fussion1000:I actually didn't back then because I believe she couldn't have been that reckless. Alas, I was wrong. I knew when Tope Alabi recorded most soundtracks of Yoruba movies back then and featured in some. Her 'ìṣàn méjì tí cut' album (sic) still lives rent free in my head to date; how she attacked females who use make up, chains, trousers/denims, etc. One wouldn't have thought she had done some shameful social standing business to boost her social profile before doing that album. What's worse was her extolling Ajanaku shamelessly and claiming she would have been nowhere had it not been for the god of Ajanaku. I recall the interview she had where she claimed she never slept with Ajanaku, that she only went there for ministrations and had to leave when the spirit of God told her to. Lies! Yet, the spirit of God never warned her when she was recording that particular song. She confidently wears trousers, chains, hairs and make ups now when ministering and it doesn't surprise me in the least of ways. Most Nigerian Gospel artists only put up their best at the earliest years of their careers when hunger ravages them. Their true form comes out when they start getting booked repeatedly. Tope Alabi is only a businesswoman. |
bolacode:It is rather unfortunate. The audacity is sickening, knowing the father has always been financially responsible and involved in the life of the daughter. Madam Tope Alabi is someone I'll refer to as a Christian socialite with a touch of Jesus' era Pharisee. If I was the man, God forbid, I'll chase this legally. The brazen arrogance of single handedly changing a child's surname when you have been trekking to see the biological father to collect money for upkeep should be studied. No sane human being should act this way, not when the other parent is actively contributing to the child's life. |
Ugosample:TRAVEL BUT DON'T DO SO IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SKILL SET, EXCEPT YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL. I believe that is the thematic preoccupation of the thread. It still feels weird adjusting and making plans. |
Well, nothing surprises me anymore. Some of us have pasts we are not proud of but wouldn't dare rub it on people's faces. Tope Alabi has always been a shady person but tries to shove excessive holiness down people's throats. She cohabited with a man she was never married to, had premarital sex severally and most likely started her relationship with Soji (her current husband) as a side guy while in the house of Olaoye. The average man has done these things severally and worse even but then, Tope Alabi around the time, sang more songs on Holiness, criticised make ups, pants or trousers on females, chains, and spoke of hell like she had been there. Today, it has been revealed she does these and worse. Meanwhile, she was shuffling between her old and new husband, collecting money for upkeep and setting up meetings. And then there is the story of 'prophet Àjànàkú' whom she acknowledged his 'god' and rhetoriced where she would have been without 'it'. Holy Prophet died and there were rumours of an amorous relationship between them, not forgetting the fact that the bleached prophet was indeed a cultist with a secret family elsewhere. Tope Alabi, Lanre Teriba and Yinka Ayefele are pure business people who thought to cash out in the name of God. These guys do not care about genuine salvation. Their goal is to bill, sing and live the life. As a human, love God, live your life and never make a man your role model, minstrel or pastor. They aren't worth it. They would rather be neck deep in their atrocities and keep it that way rather than come out to let their past be the testimony. They all just want to be too holy on the outside. This actually reminds me of a fine Deeper Life sister who got pregnant out of wedlock to a customs officer. Years later, she became a parish pastor in a popular pentecostal church and never failed to tell the youths of her church how premarital sex makes one hell-bound. Funny. |
pocohantas:@the emboldened, it seems I am the last person to hate Nigeria. ![]() It is well though. It is well. ![]() |
pocohantas:Well, I have been asked the same question repeatedly in the past and I don't blame those who do. They must have felt Nigeria does not allow for growth and success and they aren't entirely wrong. I have never seen myself emigrating until recently when chaos erupted in Nigeria, no thanks to the way the LASG and the FG responded to youths during the EndSARS protests. I used to love Nigeria a whole lot but I am not sure anymore. I just want to leave and forget the country. Well, to be candid, life has been super good. It is almost like a roller coaster ride. I have always fancied living on my own terms and I didn't even stay four years in the corporate world before I resigned and bounced. If I know the things I know now, I wouldn't have even bothered working at all as I would have embraced this life years before. We thank the Lord. ![]() Are you still being stoned for not fancying emigrating? |
Justyoj:You asked me a direct question and I responded in the most sincere way possible. Between the time I created this thread way back, I have been able to make some marks, pick up skills I never dreamt I could learn and have grown. That is not to say I haven't travelled. I have but not on emigrating grounds. Strangely, the path I was so sure of that I'd toe is considered obsolete today that it barely holds value in today's world. What's worse? I have come to understand over the years that the UN is a toothless bulldog. You are not me and you don't know my thoughts. I have revealed so much beyond what I am supposed to recently on this thread but without regrets. No regrets at all. |
Papapa1234:Not consoling myself. Nigeria is messed up beyond redemption. I could raise kids here and force their hands into becoming programmers or medical practitioners since those are some of the VERY FEW professions that are seen as valuable and in high demand in developed countries but that would be bad. I have had my fair share of Nigeria. Personally, I have been aversed to emigrating, largely because I tend to see people say life is easy on the other side. Life isn't easy anywhere and the narrative would have been different if the country isn't on a decline. Our brand of politics is not so different from that of the United States' if the last elections are anything to go by. The difference is the bloodletting and sponsored violence. Some of you seem to get my beliefs on emigrating wrong; Mine is don't go there without an adequate skill set. Don't just travel because others are travelling when you clearly don't have any value to contribute to the society you are emigrating to. I still hold this in high esteem and nothing has changed about it. Other than Lagos, the other countries you are likely to see some members of my extended family is Canada and the UK, and they have been there for as long as 20-30 years. I personally live my life as one who rants or fights. The rot plaguing Nigeria is deep and systemic and as much as I want Nigeria to work, I don't see it working. Our diversity isn't a blessing in any way. It is a curse that has stalled and stunted the growth of Nigeria. If I have the power to change anything, it would be to undiversify our diversity. I am tired of living as a religion or an ethnic group. Sadly, you can't live beyond these so long you are a Nigerian in Nigeria. |
gunners160:The likes of Wizkid who was once referred to as a 'deadbeat father' and Davido should never be the standard. Those guys do not a have family, just litters everywhere. Like someone rightly pointed, there is no achievement in getting a woman pregnant. Fathering a child such that he or she becomes a model or godly child is the achievement. Anyone can get married in today's world. The achievement, in the end, is staying married. |
pocohantas:Not this type nau! ![]() |
Fidelismaria:No, not at all. |
dominique:Greed is the keyword here. Where things are normal, the said bride price, is returned to the groom the same night and it is usually cheap, not up to N200. The justification of expensive bride prices is even crazier; like some would say it is expensive because it would remind the man how valuable the woman he bought was. I think it is an important part of our culture that should not be abolished. India and some other highly cultural societies still uphold theirs and do it moderately. Only few areas in Nigeria do it out of genuine interest. The rest... It is always a cash out venture. |
rs172:Yes, I will turn it down. I veered off that path years ago and I haven't been happier. Well, travelling abroad wasn't the problem, even though I never saw myself travelling. The issue for me is travelling when you have no particular skill set or value to you. Anyways, Nigeria is spoilt beyond redemption. Disintegration, at this point, is inevitable. It is only a matter of when, just as a matter of when I would be leaving and not look back. I wish I picked up the skills I have now earlier and made up my mind about leaving a long time ago. That is just the only regret I seem to have right now. |
Karleb: ![]() Sincerely, I never thought I would visit this particular thread again. I sincerely believe I would have been miserable if I took it. My zeal and flair for journalism died when I got involved with a particular governor who used every available channel to issue death threats over an opinion of mine during the NGF/Amaechi saga (I don't want to give too much but I think the ex-governor is imprisoned now). Anyways, I have come to hate the UN and what it stands for today because it is all in the name and no action. Since this thread was made and now, I can boldly say a lot has been achieved. I have conveniently resigned a good paying job to fully focus on programming, SEO & Data. I control my life more than ever and moving right now will be like a walk in the park for me. Strangely, I started nurtuing the idea of travelling just after the government's response to the recent protest. If not for me, I owe my kids that quality life and I wouldn't want them to look back tomorrow and curse their popsman for failing to change certain things when he could. If I had taken the job back then, I might have been neck deep in journalism or humanitarian causes, not like I don't want to though. But then again, I believe my additions over the years puts me at an advantage. My mind is yet to be made up as to where I will be bolting to, but it is most likely the UK as I have been following its threads on Nairaland passively. Madam seems cool with it being a medical lab scientist. Knowing what I know now, I still wouldn't have taken the opportunity if it comes up again. Not sure I can be answerable to people in the name of work or 9-5 anymore. Definitely not. |
rs172:Protest ground oooo. This government changed my orientation just last month. A man is leaving next year. |
Luckydubby7:Not necessarily. She is a plus sized person losing weight. Having flat breasts like that is a common occurrence with fat people who decide to lose weight. |
TruthHurts1:No, not with every phone. I had something similar but not as big and flashy as this. Check on Amazon, eBay or Asian marketplaces. |
tesppidd:Good! Apply the same to Spain. Premiership Serie A La Liga Bundesliga Ligue 1 That's the ordering of Europe's big leagues from the toughest to the least. NB: Differentiate TOUGH from QUALITY. If it is the latter, the La Liga sits at the top of the other leagues. |
Afam4eva:How you don't see that Barcelona is a flop this season is beyond me. What were you expecting, that Barcelona sit on the table just because they aren't having issues? Or isn't Barcelona's performance blighted by their on/off pitch problems? Should we now suddenly pretend that the La Liga is so tough because Barcelona and Mess have become a shadow of themselves? For the record, the Madrid you referenced now is a slightly better version of the current Barcelona team. There are tons of issues with the team and there were talks about Zidane's sack until the win against Inter Milan weeks ago. Serie A is a not so spectacular team, particularly without Ronaldo. Barcelona has dominated the La Liga so bad until last season that Madrid edged them out. Quality of football rests with Spain but there is no denying that it is the second easiest leagues of the top four. Again, Barcelona is a dying team and its testament is Messi's open play goals this season. Your argument would have been firm and made sense if Barcelona and Real Madrid were at their best and still in the positions they are on on the table. Saying the La Liga is tough is worthy of Basketmouth's entrance at any comedy show. |
Afam4eva:The La Liga isn't tough at all. Bundesliga is the only league the La Liga seems to be tougher than. The EPL and Serie A are much tougher. But then again, we all know Barcelona's UCL form is all facade. The woes and frustration of the club is huge right now and a UCL disaster will amplify how bad Barcelona has been this season. |
infogeneral:Has there ever been justice when a well placed officer errs? Of course the answer is no. If there ever was, the people won't take to senseless violence and reprisals against the police. |
ursullalinda:It is not and it is at the same time. Let men of the police force and other uniformed security agencies fear the people a bit. Their high morale over the years is why unchecked extra judicial killings and police brutality have been soaring year after year. You would think you have heard enough of oppression only to learn a new one; prison warders collecting bribes on roads. Let them walk among those they are supposed to watch over and protect with fear. You are called to serve, not to oppress. |
Meister:He is actually a returning scammer under a different sobriquet. An old timer scammer at that. |
