Mynd44:This is disappointing. They got cleared by the police and immigration. The organisers also got cleared to host the show. Ugandan celebrities reported them specially because the organisers did not include any Ugandan musicians and felt 'foreigners' were allowed to perform while they have been put out of business. If anything, the organisers are the ones who ought to answer to the Ugandan authorities, not celebrities who were brought in by a promoter. |
Goldbringer:Messi might have left. His contract expires in January. |

Ishilove:LMAO, at the emboldened! ![]() Sad stuff. She has since been damaged and has not been handling it well. The outburst was only a as a result of her pent up frustrations and anger. She truly needs the Holy Spirit to soothe her soul. |
Grayoso:Drop the flat chest for a minute. This is a classic signature move. The North is a greedy region, always wanting all and despite that, they would always cry that it is never enough. A far strange group in Northeastern Nigeria affirmed there was indeed a gentleman agreement between the SW and the APC and the purpose of their existence is to see that this agreement is honoured. While doing this, they went after the North West, where demonic el Rufai and other round, pot-bellied politicians are scheming of thwarting whatever move it is Tinubu has in store and also warding off Jonathan like an evil spirit. Fashola was once worthy but he is now senseless. Power has corrupted him. Osinbajo looks worthy enough but he still won't get a chance if he does not get the support of Tinubu. Tinubu, on the other hand, wouldn't support any of his anointed proteges if they do not intend to serve his purpose. It is a simple political arithmetic. |
I pray they pair Barca with Bayern Munich again. I want to check something ![]() Meanwhile, any team playing against Juventus will be unfortunate. Ronaldo will just use them to catch cruise. |
The Champions League draw is closing in, with 16 teams through to the knockout stages after the group phase wrapped up last week.https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/uefa-champions-league-draw-2021-live-date-time-today-b288845.html

The North is not a united front as we've been deceived into believing. It has always been the Northwest while the Northeast has been overlooked, no thanks to terrorism raving the region. 2023 will be interesting and one thing that is certain is that it will forever change some narratives about this country, that is, if the country is still standing by then. The South East thinks they should be given power, the South West is claiming there is a gentleman agreement between our failed president and Tinubu, Jonathan from the core South is eyeing a second return, Atiku of Cameroon and Adamawa from North East Nigeria believes he is not tired of trying, certain North West politicians are thinking of pushing another of their own because they aren't enjoying the misrule and misgovernance of Buhari and believe they will use the Kardashians to their advantage like they do in every election. Meanwhile, a certain North East group is warning everybody to shelve their 2023 dreams because they are the far away avengers of a South West political juggernut. It smells like Tinubu. It tastes like Tinubu. It must be Tinubu. |
Arising from a meeting in Gombe, NYLF also warned political elites from the Northwest, not to present any candidate vying either for the office of the president or the vice president. The group threatened to resist any such candidates from the Northwest.http://saharareporters.com/2020/12/14/presidency-northern-group-warns-jonathan-against-contesting-2023

Ishilove:Lol! ![]() We actually met last year on the Island through a mutual friend at an event. Although the meeting was shortlived, I got to know she works at BBC through the friend and that she is good at what she does. I had never heard about her or her works and the whole hype was surprising. However, she spent most of the evening sitting alone and fiddling with her phone and I never stopped to wonder what sort of human being comes to an event 'only to come and be pressing phone'. I followed on Twitter around that time last year and managed to figure the relationship ish must have made her keep to herself that evening. But before now, she never stopped tweeting about how she is single, depressed, tempted to slice her wrists, insomniac nights, late-night foods, etc. I only got to know the why just three days ago, despite dropping a hint in November. |
Ishilove:Na you nau ![]() She actually is. Being an introverted person, she has always avoided public eyes and her restless tweets over the past couple days suggested all wasn't well with her. |
obailala:1. The story isn't about the fame or money. Oge is a reserved person and took on the identity of Kemi during the entire documentary. 2. She caught her boyfriend who is also a BBC staff in a compromising situation with Kiki. Sadly, the guy broke up with her not too long after. Another of her trusted friend whom she liked also got down with Kiki. Somehow, those ones influenced her caving in the more during the whole thing. 3. She is not just hurt by Kiki's claim over her sweat, the fact that that one person did her repeatedly (career, fame and man) got to her for a long time. 4. She spoke up about the SFG documentary in November but got bullied by fans of Kiki. 5. While Ruona was trying to make the world recognize Oge, feminist coalition members have been bullying Oge deliberately because she decided to tell the world that she caught Kiki Mordi with her man. Meanwhile, Kemi Olunloyo had revealed that Kiki Mordid ended Oge's relationships since last year. 6. Apparently too soft for social media, the bullying got to Oge that feminist coalition and Kiki Mordi stans suggested she took both cyanide and ricin when she suggested which to take. 7. She had been battling depression for a while before the bullying within the past few days. But bulk of it was because of her relationships and then the recent documentary coming to light.

Oge isn't dead yet. She has been rushed to a hospital and is currently being treated. She seems stable for now. |
Kaduna1stson:Let's talk about Hisbah for a minute. |
Heartbrokengirl:Well, in your case, there was. I share bukatyne's sentiment on his religion as it allows for that. There is no denying that he might have told his family or those you met that he intended marrying you as a second wife. Perhaps that could have been his true intention and not necessarily the fling. I once witnessed a friend's case, similar to yours but the guy wasn't married at the time. He had them up to four and would take them home for the parents to assess them before he thought to choose from the lot and continue playing the others. The friend in question was only lucky to have been told by the guy's sister after she got her a gift. The saddest part was he never married none of them despite managing them for years, with the least being a year. It is never enough just knowing a man's family. |
Heartbrokengirl:Sorry about your plight though. I wouldn't advise you you snoop in subsequent relationships. I believe why you got played was because you failed to do due diligence on him. Often times, the blameless, perfect man is one with a woman at home OR one who is single but has grown over time. Sadly, they fall into the former category, for the most part. There will always be indicators that something isn't right but the voice of love and emotion often overshadows all others. Snooping isn't the way to good. If you ask the right questions, you will always find a questionable response that could give clues on what the other person is lying about or not willing to share. But does it mean you can rely on their words alone? Well, that is subjective. |
daewoorazer:Some of you are not properly brought up and it is troubling because the number multiplies across cyberspace on a daily basis. |
ImadeUReadThis:Permit me to quote this but your claims are without proof and are baseless. I had a stint in the telco industry for three years and I worked in one of its core units; a part that allows for better understanding of data network types. You claimed 5G networks have been around since 2017 but under test. The question is: By who? The NCC, a mere regulator of the industry, the FG that does not have the capacity to procure hightech devices to better run the country or the ISPs, namely the BIG 4? Around this time, I was rounding off to leave the sector and there was never any rumour remotely tied to your claim. 4G was launched by Airtel in May 2018, in Abuja, being the FCT before it slowly spread to other parts of the country but you are claiming 4G has been around before then ![]() Again, who has been testing this 5G in Abuja; MainOne, Glo, Airtel, MTN, Ericsson, Huawei or the FG? Who provided the 5G equipment and facility for the tests? Who was the 5G deployed to Abuja and through which submarine cables? There is no denying that the FG has so many misplaced priorities. There is a limit to how the NCC can interfere in the sector. The operation costs are too high to have data prices slashed by 50% in this present economy. AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile all started deploying 5G in the United States last year. Big govt agencies such as Pentagon have been running on 100 Mbps LAN, from 4G, with managed data farms. Government agencies, schools, banks and other sectors all use special, dedicated internet types that can conveniently allow you stream even 8K resolutions without buffering for a minute. all of these depend on the depth of your company's pocket. The Osama 5G claim is preposterous. The streaming was done via satellite. 5G was launched in the world in 2018, the year 4G was announced and deployed in Nigeria. Verizon 'shocked' the world by announcing its 5G home network, the same year, 2018. Osama was killed in 2011, yet you claimed Pentagon has been using 5G since 2011? As at 2016, 5G was only a rumour and it wasn't until 2019 that South Korea became the first country to launch 5G. So how Nigeria, a third world country had started tests for 5G in 2017 when 4G was officially launched in 2018 is beyond me. This is Pastor Chris' conspiracy finding its way to Nairaland. |
Emyogalanya: Emyogalanya:His mum is a princess, from a royal family in Abia State. The father is Isoko, a sister group to the Urhobo group. Typically, one could say he is an Isoko dude but he was born in Umuahia before his family eventually moved to Lagos. |
jeffmatt4u:It is an Urhobo thing ![]() |
oyatz:I have even personally being referred to as that. Nothing out of the ordinary. |
Miracle2020:If I am not mistaken, 'Aboki' means 'my friend' and 'Mallam' means a learned man. Its equivalence in Yoruba is 'Ogbeni'. Both are not derogatory in any way. |
rhymesnoni:Although that is what the Hausas refer to the Igbo people as. Bulk of them do not know that it is derogatory. As a matter of fact, Igbos are more popular as Inyamuri among lower-class Northern folks than than the name 'Igbo'. |
pocohantas: I agree. The lyrics aren't actually in sync with the original meaning of the derogative name. The emboldened is a beautiful twist though. |
CSTRR:'Awww'... You couldn't have possibly missed the song. |
gomojam:Just like the Igbos, we also refer to them as Palm Oil eaters. Although, there are others which are considered stereotypical which I wouldn't want to make public. For the Hausas, we refer to them as Kola nut eaters. For the Igbos, we also refer to them as stone eaters, just like the Yorubas but mostly 'leaf eaters'. |
gomojam:No, not at all. |
Kiki Mordi didn't sideline her 'colleague'. Oge Obi conceptualized, pitched, researched and co-produced the investigate piece but only invited Kiki Mordi to do the TV narration. Kiki Mordi was never in any UNILAG office. That was Oge Obi. What's worse is that she has been receiving awards and claiming her university experience led her into the documentary. Kiki Mordi is not the type to venture into investigate journalism. She is not that creative. What's worse, she never gave a dime to Oge from the thousands of Dollars grants won. Not a dime! The irony for me is that she is a feminist who supposedly support females but unfortunately profits off them.
|
LibertyRep:I am tempted to believe this because the sound is purely a Northern sound. However, it would be a stupid move because she will only manage to appeal to Northerners while losing the South, which is Nigeria's entertainment HQ. Sincerely, it makes no sense to me to court this type of controversy. It is highly sensitive. |
fnep2smooth:Well, true. Branding as a result of what you eat isn't a crime. I know for a fact that the Yorubas refer to Igbo folks as 'Aj'okuta ma m'omi' (One who eats stone without drinking water - Origin: The Igbo Akpu is stronger and stone-like compared to the typical Yoruba fufu' and then there is 'Ndi ofe mmanu' (Oil soup eater - Origin: The Yorubas obviously fancy palm oil to vegetable oil and they use it in abundance when cooking). Where I'm from, we have a name for the Yorubas, Hausas and Igbos based on obvious habits. Regardless, the scenario is a bit different when 'Inyamuri' is compared with all other aforementioned names. There is a sad story to the name the earliest people who branded the names on the Igbo people did so out of spite and ridicule. While the average Northerner might not understand that it is derogatory, using the same in a body of work even though the song is non provocative is a huge miss. Research should be the foundation of every creative works. |
