Celebrities / D'BANJ - The Things We Will Never Forget by sanyablaze(m): 12:26pm On Oct 30, 2014 |
#JustAThought ' Who remembers D’banj? Ok. Dumb question. I remember D’banj. I know you do too. I’m not talking about this koko garri drinking, agricultural farming, Cocoa na Chocolate singing, Dre beats wearing ‘Eja Nla’ who now goes by the alias ‘Kiniwun Funfun’. I’m referring to the Why Me singing, Tongolo crooning, harmonica blowing, Mo Gbono Feli grinding, kokolet mamalet and babylet chanting kokomaster. D’banj is fun… or at least he used to be. Remember at the Thisday Music Festival sometime in 2006/07 when the Destiny’s Child graced the event? Kelly Rowland was feeling the n***a so much that she got up and grinding to “Do you like the koko” with our Ski’banj (like his Jamaican friends would call him). Now, that was some firebrand entertainer stuff. D’banj was and I’ll like to still believe that he is loved by many. Only that for some of us, our choices and reasons for sticking with him may have waned and withered. When D’banj came on-board the afro pop scene, it was obvious how much he changed every darn thang. Was it new slangs that have formed a majority of our everyday local vocabulary? Or those suave dance steps – the kind you grind low with your right-arm elbow in-between your legs? Or perhaps the songs! Lord, the hits became too numerous to mention and with every new one churned out, we had yet another club/street anthem. D’banj was not only serving it hot, he was slinging it and killing it at the same time. While I choose to not overlook Don Jazzy’s ingenious talent in most (if not all) of his then music productions, D’banj was more like what (or who) you’d refer to as the live wire of the band – I’m talking about the Mo’Hits crew. What about the petite Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji? No controversy trailed her more like her rumoured affiliation with the kokomaster. That’s still a question interviewers make reference to whenever they get to sit with her. And it’s all thanks to this same D’banj. But what’s happened with that D’banj? Sadly, that D’banj is gone, and he’s been very well missed. I’m guessing change really is the only constant thing if not, he wouldn’t have evolved to becoming the global ambassador that he is today, which we’re all indeed very proud of… make no mistake about that. All good things really do come to an end. I miss “the D’banj” and this time, D’banj agaghi abiala! By Jim 1 Like

Celebrities / South Africa To Support APC With $2billion by sanyablaze(m): 5:36pm On Oct 28, 2014 |
Olufemi Aduwo, the national coordinator of Rights Monitoring Group (RMG) has alleged that South Africa is planing to bankroll a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC with $2billion. Aduwo made the statement during an interview session with NIGERIAN TRIBUNE, when he was asked who will emerge from the APC among Buhari, Atiku and Kwankwaso?. He said, "Buhari may emerge, even though I am not a soothsayer, as the candidate. But, when I see the antecedent of Buhari, I disagree with those who go about saying he is a credible and an incorruptible leader. "The definition of corruption should not be limited to stealing public funds alone. A book defines corruption as an act of illegality by people in position of power. Buhari’s overthrow of the government of Alhaji Shehu Shagari in the Second Republic constituted an act of illegality and it is corruption. People’s rights were flagrantly trampled upon by his regime and we had a lot of abandoned projects littering the country. How will such a person perform in a constitutional democracy? It is better imagined than experienced. Nigerians queued to get sugar and rice during his time and the country was reduced to the status of war- torn North Korea by the Buhari regime. "If Buhari went to bank to borrow money to pay for his nomination forms, it means the billionaires in the party do not believe in his ability to deliver. Talking as a Nigerian and not an election observer of the system, the PDP will win more states in 2015 because the APC will be thrown into crisis. I wish to alert the security operatives to be alert on some of the APC chieftains who have investments in foreign countries. "I gathered from some of the stakeholders at the just-concluded World Bank/IMF meeting this month in Washington DC that South Africa alone is ready to bank one of APC presidential aspirants to the tune of $2 billion if he emerges as candidate", Aduwo Said

Celebrities / Australian Man Finds Live Spider In His Stomach by sanyablaze(m): 4:08pm On Oct 28, 2014 |
SYDNEY (Reuters) - An Australian man had a spider removed from his stomach after it burrowed its way into his body and survived for three days before being removed. Dylan Maxwell was on holidays on the Indonesian island of Bali when the tiny creature burrowed through a small appendix scar and traveled up his torso, leaving a red scar-like trail from his navel to his chest. Lifting his shirt, Maxwell told an Australian television network "that's where it actually burrowed underneath my skin". While still in Bali, Maxwell visited a local medical center and was prescribed an antihistamine for an insect bite. "Well after running tests and putting things inside my stomach they finally found out it was a tropical spider that's been living inside me for the last three days," Maxwell posted on his Facebook page where he goes by the name of Dylan Thomas. "Haven't felt so violated in my life before! Just glad it's all over", he said. After returning to Australia earlier this week, doctors removed the tropical visitor. "They managed to pull the spider out of my navel and put it in a specimen jar and took it away," said Maxwell, whose mates have nicknamed him "Spiderman". -Reuters |

Celebrities / Open Letter To Kanye West - The Ferguson Case by sanyablaze(m): 12:40pm On Oct 28, 2014 |
Dear 'Ye, You have spent much of your career defying naysayers and the standards people have set for you. You refused to be intimidated by guys on the South Side of Chicago for your creativity. You broke free of being only a producer when you proved Jay Z wrong and became one of the biggest names in rap music. When music executives tried to control the content of your music, you released the now-infamous "Jesus Walks." When Nike would not give you creative control over Yeezys, you took a deal with Adidas instead. You are, by definition, defiant. And I love that about you. Many in our community applauded your gall to stand on national television next to Mike Myers and utter seven words that shook the nation: "George Bush doesn't care about black people." We praised your courage in the wake of the United States' failed response to Hurricane Katrina that ultimately resulted in the loss of many lives. You articulated the pain behind the tears many of us cried. Despite criticism of your "Kanye rants," people listen when you speak. Regardless of your delivery, many of us find value in your statements on classism and institutionalized racism. Your voice elicits responses from fans and critics alike. Having said that, Ferguson is happening. Where are you? I am deeply troubled by your sudden quietness in the midst of such powerful youth activism against police brutality and state violence. The killing of Mike Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, has awakened a movement that even garnered responses from protesters in Palestine and Hong Kong, protesters who are fighting for their own just causes in their homeland but found a connection to the injustices that blacks face in the United States. Yet you are silent. Other members of the black entertainment industry have contributed in various ways to support the social movement that has erupted in Ferguson. John Legend, Jesse Williams, David Banner, Lupe Fiasco, Killer Mike, Outkast, J. Cole, Pharrell, and Tef Poe, to name a few, have voiced concerns and offered solutions and words of encouragement, and some have even participated in protests. Common, during a performance of his song "Kingdom" on the 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards , was joined onstage by Mike Brown's parents, provoking deafening silence in the venue, and Talib Kweli protested in the streets of Ferguson alongside other activists. Yet you are ghost. Fans have waited to hear from two of music's biggest stars, Jay Z and Beyoncé. Unfortunately, I do not expect them to use their success as a platform to overtly address current prejudicial injustices in the black community. It would be uncharacteristic of them to suddenly staunchly shoulder this responsibility, given the cowardice with which they have broached the subject in the past. You are different. You have set a precedent onstage and in interviews on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Breakfast Club, and let us not forget the "How Sway" moment on Sirius XM, when you unpacked being a black face in the white space of the fashion industry. I commend your work with Donda's House and the Common Ground Foundation in addressing the challenges and violence that Chicago youths face, but you appear to have lost your voice on this rather grand social movement around Ferguson. But this is not only about you, 'Ye, or your absence from the discourse on Ferguson as some of your peers rise to the occasion. This is about the fact that without Harry Belafonte, Nina Simone, Sidney Portier, Ruby Dee, Muhammad Ali, and so many other black entertainment activists, you, Jay Z, Beyoncé, and other black entertainers today would have likely fallen particularly short of your success. Last year Harry Belafonte made this statement about today's black entertainers and their participation -- or general lack thereof -- in the struggle for justice in black communities: I think one of the great abuses of this modern time is that we should have had such high-profile artists, powerful celebrities. But they have turned their back on social responsibility. That goes for Jay-Z and Beyonce, for example. Give me Bruce Springsteen, and now you're talking. I really think he is black. There was a more noble time when, among black entertainers, the label of "activist" was not only embraced but expected. Celebrities did not appear to be more concerned with keeping endorsement deals than addressing the chokehold of white supremacy on black lives. Black entertainers did not possess the privilege of ignoring community problems, because they were equally susceptible to brutalization, marginalization, and discrimination. Black entertainers did not use economic privilege to distance themselves from plight in the black community; instead, it was a powerful instrument in political agenda-setting and the initiation of change. Action by black entertainers should in no way be mistaken for a substitute for the fervor needed from the masses to carry out the arduous task of combating institutionalized racism and discriminatory barriers. But I challenge black entertainers to join us in shouldering the responsibility of mobilization for social justice -- the way civil-rights activists of the past feverishly did, setting the tone for us. You said, "No one man should have all that power." I believe no one man should waste all that power. Much Love |

Romance / How Joe Introduced His Son To S*X by sanyablaze(m): 2:41pm On Oct 26, 2014 |
Joe and Comfort drove home in silence, each filled with unpleasant thoughts. Their dinner date with the Okoguns, which used to be an event they look forward to, had turned into some kind of twisted Jerry Springer confession. At least, Festus had been kind enough to let them eat the delicious meal without sullying their appetite with his story. It had been an occasion filled with silence and long faces from their hosts. After the meal, Joe couldn’t hide his curiosity anymore. He asked his long time friend and Church brethren what the matter was. Festus had exchange a brief glance with his wife, who had promptly burst into tears and escaped to the kitchen. Then with a heavy heart, he’d opened up to Joe and Comfort and had also let out a few pained sobs of his own. As they pulled up outside their compound at Isheri, Joe and Comfort made their way into the house and tried to put up a face filled with good cheer. As to be expected, three of their children were in the living room, watching a Christian music channel. Their first son, Gabriel was not there with them. The usual, “welcome Papa… Welcome Mama” greeted them on entrance. Joe managed to interact with his children without any sign of distress before heading upstairs to go check on his first born while his wife headed for the kitchen. Without knocking, he entered Gabriel’s bedroom, hoping to catch him unawares. Gabriel lay on his bed, fiddling with his mobile phone. He sat up immediately his father entered his room. In a gruff voice, Joe demanded for the cell phone, scrolled through it while Gabriel frowned at the blatant disregard for his privacy and personal space. When Joe was done, he asked his son to turn on his laptop. Gabriel did it without argument but his anger was bubbling beneath. He watched his father sit behind his computer desk and scroll through every file and folder like a CIA agent on a mission. Gabriel chuckled inwardly. Whatever his father was looking for, he definitely was not going to find. He picked up his phone and continued browsing. After a while, Joe got up and pulled a chair near his son’s bed and sat on it. Out of respect, Gabriel stopped his mobile browsing and sat up, avoiding his father’s eyes. The silence between father and son was tense. Then Joe spoke up. “Son… I’m sorry for barging in like this and going through your stuff without explanation. I heard something quite terrible this evening and it made me a little sacred. Now… I’m going to ask you a very personal question. And I want you to tell me the truth. Ok” Joe pinned him with an intent look. Gabriel nodded in silence, still miffed at his father. “Do you have a girlfriend?” Joe asked. “No sir.” Came Gabriel’s reply. “Do you like women?” Joe continued “Not really sir” Gabriel didn’t hesitate. Joe sucked in a deep breath, wondering how he could brooch the subject of women to his 20 year old son. He had never talked about girls with him…. had never bothered. He was a strict Christian father and had made his intolerance of fornication expressly known to all his children. But after Festus had broken down and confided in him that he suspected their only son, Theo, was gay, a weird fear had gripped Joe. Theo and Gabriel were very, very close. They spent alot of time together and even attended the same Private University. Joe was afraid that If Theo was gay, his own son might be too. “Son… Its not a bad thing to like women. Its actually a good thing. I was against you having a girlfriend because I felt you were not matured enough to have a relationship… Especially of the sexual kind.” Gabriel shifted uncomfortably. He did not like where the conversation was going and was not sure any comment from him would be appreciated, so he kept mum and stared at the floor. “Son, look at me…” Joe demanded. Gabriel sucked in a deep breath and looked up at his father. “Have you… Errr… Ahem… Have — Have you been with a woman before?” Joe asked, trying hard to push back his embarrassment. Gabriel couldn’t voice his reply, so he shook his head in the negative. “What about… Have you been… Is… You know what? Forget about it ok? I — I’m sure you wouldn’t do anything that would incur God’s wrath. Remember why Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed… Sodomy is an abomination in the sight of God.” He lapsed into silence and watched his son. The young man was looking down, silent as a mouse. Joe sighed and offered up a quiet prayer of supplication to God. “Your mother is back. You should go downstairs to greet her. Then tell your brother and sisters that we will be having evening devotion really early today. Ok?” Joe said as he headed for the door. Gabriel nodded and let out a sigh of relief as soon as his father left the room. Continue Reading Part 2 HERE»»»» www.86wiz.com |

A lady I was in her room yesterday, asked me if the bra she was putting on fits her. She went ahead to unbotton her shirt and showed me the bra on her bare body. It was actually a designer bra with Rihanna's face on it. I told her it fits her so much. But I kept on wondering why she would have done that. Could that be a sign of an invitation or she just wanted to seek my opinion? .................................................................. .................................................................. |

Romance / Man Catches Wife With Another Man In The Same Hotel He Took His Girlfriend To by sanyablaze(m): 2:22pm On Oct 21, 2014 |
There was serious drama in the Olodi Apapa area of Lagos on Thursday night as a man who took another lady to a hotel to enjoy himself, came out from the hotel room only to see his own wife coming out from another room in the same hotel with his best friend. When he spotted them, the visibly angry husband, identified as Kayode, was said to have shouted: “My own wife in a hotel with another man!” At the first instance when Kayode saw his wife, Mrs. Funmilayo, he never envisaged that the man with her was his best friend, Mr Mufutau, but after a closer look, he noticed that the man was Mufutau and he slapped him twice before Mufutau retaliated. And serious fight broke out. Funny enough, as both men were fighting themselves in public, Kayode’s wife, Funmilayo, pounced on her husband’s girlfriend and tore the lady’s clothes for having the effrontry to date her husband… The crazy fight came to an end when the Bar Man, Receptionist, and others customers intervened and they blamed both the married man and his wife for not being sincere and trustworthy to themselves. According to Leadership, the Bar Man told Kayode that he was guilty of the same offence for bringing a lady, which they later discovered was also a married woman, to the hotel. The barman said that what occurred was a nemesis or law of distributional justice. But before the fight ended, the women were said to have torn their clothes to shreds and left in shame.
