A 12-year-old girl, who was raped by a teacher in Unguwan Fantaro, Kachia local government area of Kaduna State in June 2021, has given birth to a baby boy.

The girl (name withheld) until she became a victim of the illegal act, used to hawk around in her village when one teacher known as Salihu under the guise of wanting to make a purchase from her lured her into his room and had carnal knowledge of her forcefully.

It was gathered then that Salihu while carrying out the act covered the young girl’s mouth and overpowered her before carrying out the illegal act.

She was subsequently confirmed pregnant three months after the incident and was placed under the custody of the Kaduna State Ministry of Human Services and Social Development through the Ummulkhairi Foundation.

The state commissioner for human services and social development, Hajiya Hafsat Baba, said she was successfully delivered a bouncing baby boy.

According to the commissioner, “The little girl gave birth to a baby boy three weeks ago, and I am happy the doctors at Barau Dikko Hospital where she was delivered of the boy were able to manage her well to give birth on her own, rather than allowing her to go through a caesarean operation.

“Though the baby is with us, we just handed her over to her mother on Wednesday. We are, however, not leaving any stone unturned until justice prevails and the man who put the little girl in a family way pays for his evil act.”

She said the culprit had been in custody since the incident was reported last year.

A randy boss has been arrested by the operatives of the Anambra State Police Command for allegedly attempting to rape his housemaid in Ifite, Awka, the state capital.

The 12-year-old house girl was said to have jumped from a storey building to escape being raped as she fractured her legs in the process.

The incident reportedly happened on Thursday and the maid has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.

A Facebook user, Mrs Ify Unachukwu, who shared the incident on her page, wrote, “A 12-year-old house help jumped down the window of a storey building to escape rape by her ‘Oga’.

“She sustained a fracture on her leg bone (tibia). Now, she has been moved from Climax Specialist Hospital, Awka, to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku. She is presently in a critical condition, after escaping.”

The state police spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident said that the culprit had been arrested.

“The suspect is in our custody and investigation has begun please,” he added.

A 27-year-old suspected fraudster, Mohd A Mohd, has been arrested by the police for defrauding PoS operators in Jigawa State.

The State Police spokesperson, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, the 7th of April, 2022 said Mohd was found in possession of 400 notes of N1000 denomination suspected to be counterfeit.

“On 31/03/2022 at about 2045hrs, a team of Policemen led by CSP Dahiru Mahmud, Divisional Police Officer, Dutse Division while on surveillance patrol along Limawa quarters, Dutse LGA, intercepted one Mohd A Mohd ‘m’ age 27yrs of Hadejia LGA. On spot search, he was found in possession of a total of four hundred and one ‘401’ notes of one thousand ‘1000’ denomination reasonably Suspected to be counterfeit,” the PPRO stated.

“On the same date at about 2000hrs, one Abdullahi Magaji ‘m’ aged of Limawa quarters complained that the suspect came to his POS terminal shop, situated at Limawa quarters and attempt to deceive him by giving him counterfeit of one hundred thousand naira #100,000.00k to transfer to his account. Later he discovered the money was fake notes.

On investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime and intended to mention his accomplices. He will be charged to court after an investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida, directed that the case should be transferred to SCID Dutse for discreet investigation.

He stated that rigorous patrol, raids of criminal hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the State.
