WriterX: Hadn't it been I actually have done what I call overly extensive research on this fore mentioned historical topic some years ago when an Igbo neighbour of mine and my former history teacher got me interested in it and been able to discuss and talk with a few people who were around this time period I would have said to myself "this is nothing but the truth" but true journalism is objective and not subjective hence my audacity to call this fictitious , your write up has no grounds. God bless you. Adaka Boro's declaration of Niger Delta Republic had nothing to do with Ojukwu and Ironsi on personal level. That was February 1966. It is hatred for Igbo and fear of Biafran unity that they are still fighting. |

Jones4190: ARE YOU A BIAFRAN? Those who arrested and sentenced Isaac Adaka Boro to death for declaring Niger Delta Republic were neither Hausa-Fulanis nor Yorubas but two supposed brothers of his and Biafrans named Odumegwu Ojukwu and Aguiyi Ironsi who were still on the side of Gambaris and still trying to please them as at then. For declaring Niger-Delta Republic Ironsi, the then military head of state, ordered Ojukwu to get Isaac Boro arrested for treason. Ojukwu, in an attempt to please Gambaris, fought Isaac Boro for 14 days within which he used federal might of “one-Nigeria” to kill 150 soldiers loyal to Isaac Boro, caught Isaac Boro, stripped him naked and sent him over to Lagos where Ironsi charged him to court and within just 2 months got him convicted, at the Supreme Court, of treasonable felony of trying to break away from Azikiwe’s one Nigeria, got him sentenced to death by hanging. While Ironsi and Ojukwu did all that to Isaac Boro, they left untouched their own Igbo brother soldiers who planned a coup with which they killed Innocent Hausas, Yorubas, Niger Deltans, Middle belters leaving Igbo politicians unharmed despite they, like Zik and Okpara, were part and parcel of the corrupt Balewa government. However, before Ojukwu and Ironsi could execute their sentence on Isaac Boro God intervened and the counter coup happened. Ironsi was overthrown and killed. Gowon took over declared Isaac Boro innocent and released him. But just fifteen months later Ojukwu too declared Biafra Republic due to the way Igbos were being killed in the North. In declaring Biafra, rather than first apologise to Isaac Boro for what he earlier did to him and then ask for his cooperation in fighting to realize the Biafra dream, Ojukwu did nothing like that but without consulting Boro at all went as far as arrogantly including in his Biafra map the very Niger Delta areas which Isaac Boro earlier tried to pull out of Nigeria and which he (Ojukwu) nearly killed him for. This angered Isaac Boro and Ken Saro Wiwa who both pledged support for Gowon in order to teach Ojukwu a bitter lesson for his arrogance and dishonesty. That was why Isaac Boro and Saro Wiwa fought on the side of Gowon during the war. Naturally Isaac Boro couldn’t have come out of prison to join the Ojukwu who jailed him and fight against the Gowon who released him. It would have been absurd. No rational human being does that. This is the truth of what happened and which Igbos hate to hear but prefer to blame everyone else as if they themselves were 100℅ innocent. Igbos must learn to say the truth because if the Biafra/Niger Delta Republic they now seek is founded on lies and deliberate falsehood, like Nigeria, it will not stand but will soon become a failed state like Nigeria. We can’t leave Nigeria for another Nigeria. But we however know that Igbos allergy to truth is incurable, therefore Niger-Delta states will never be part of Biafra You see how wicked you people are in changing narratives out of hatred for Igbo? No wonder someone said that Nigerians will always unite due to their hatred for the Igbo man. The same divide and rule tactic against today's Nigeria is what you guys want to apply for a potential Biafra. It will not work. Gowon only released Adaka Boro to create disunity among the Biafrans. Later, was it not the same Fulani that Boro fought for against Biafra that killed both him and Ken Saro? Keep fooling yourself. Only if our people would learn history instead of pressing phones. No one would teach you who your real enemy in Nigeria is. |

Tofax: The core North are too greedy. The revenue generating agencies and the entire security architecture of the country- and the three arms of government are firmly in their hands. In a country of nearly 200 million people of diverse cultures, religions and ethnicities. They trash out the federal character principles.
They control the NPA, NNPC, PenCom, FIRS, Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON), Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), NIMASA etc. Everywhere they're there. The South & Middle Belt should wake up. Just shut it. No one trusts a Yoruba man if you're one. For decades, oil from Niger Delta has been exploited and the people degraded but no single Yoruba man saw it as injustice. For Decades, the Igbo wanted out of this country, every Yoruba man kicked against it. Now, because parastatals, ports and borders have been taken over by Fulani, you people are pretending to have woken up from slumber. Tomorrow, once your leaders are settled with appointments. you'll go back to your usual love of injustice and evil. Who takes a Yoruba talk seriously? |

Oshigun: That would be a grave mistake. When the cause is just then the Government will lose ,from having too many enemies to fight, once the Buhari-led FG becomes dictatorial, brutal and intolerant.
Let us not forget that Igboho, unlike Kanu, is not agitating for secession and peddling hate speech against other Nigerians because Goodluck Jonathan lost an election. Igboho is not doing this because he loves to disturb the peace of Nigeria like others enjoy orgasmically as part of their nature.
Igboho is doing this because of reasons the entire universe can apreciate and empathize with. He is having to watch Yorubas maimed, kidnapped, killed, raped everywhere with farms and livelihoods of families being destroyed by Fulani marauders all in the name of 'one Nigeria'. Even those against secession worldwide would agree the cause is just in this case. So secession can be reasonable because it is now championed by a Yoruba man? You are truly Two-Face, backstabbing hypocrite. |

MozB: Your probably won't type this if you have a brother or father as a soldier. It's only in Nigeria i see and hear people brand everybody evil as a result of other people's bad deeds. Besides, one thing you don't understand about the military is that it completely runs by order. Absolute order!! When you sign the form, you sign to take EVERY single order from your superior. May God help us. Really? Even to shoot your own unarmed citizens in cold blood? Then in battle situation, you expect the same citizens to have empathy for you? That is seen only in unprofessional armies. Do you not know that civilians play vital roles in conflicts such as this? That is in terms of intelligence and information that could have saved the lives of many soldiers if the military built good relationship with them? Ambushes could be avoided. Civilians could even help stranded troops to melt into civilian population by hiding them when facing threats. But if the army is known to delight in brutalizing their own citizens, that's when the empathy vaporizes even when they are killed. How many countries do you see citizens not care that their soldiers are dying? The military has to really work on their relationship with the civilians or it could only get worse. |

OneTemplate: Clown. This is far bigger than Tinubu and I say that as a supporter of Jagaban. Is Tinubu now equal to the sum of 50 million Yorubas worldwide just because you Igbos are obsessed with the man?
Please, Yorubas are not Igbos. If we all get behind Oduduwa Republic then no one, not even all our leaders combined, can stop us.
Firstly, Yorubas are the most dogmatically Principled people in Nigeria bar none. We mean what we say and say what we mean unlike Igbos. This is why we are slow to take a hard line position on any issue. We don't act in haste to repent at leisure as Igbos do always.
Secondly, we are the least itinerant people in Nigeria and I doubt, minus the diaspora, that more than 1.5 to 2 million Yorubas, at most, are living outside the SW region in Nigeria.
We are also the people least dependent on others of all Nigerians.
We have the most robust culture, fertile land, beneficial geographical diversity, entertainment sector, vibrant market, leisure industry, middle class wealth, work/business environment and life balance. Our human and material endowment is second to non. All that combined means we are the most ready, out of all Nigerians, to be on our own.
Also, most Yorubas outside the SW, in different areas of Nigeria, will be assimilated back into Yoruba land in literally days if a civil or internecine strife breaks out over seccesion.
Unlike Igbos who would face a nightmare scenario considering 10 to 15 million Igbos, at least, are spread throughout Nigeria and mainly in the SW.
Learn to appreciate how much trouble you and your people have put yourself in before you poke your nose in the affairs of Yorubas who are the real life blood of our nation and can comfortably leave Nigeria, anytime and any day, to thrive massively . I am always amused at how much you Yoruba put your belle ahead of your lives. Is it not free oil that have kept you in one Nigeria all these whiule before your latest taqqya? Let me ask you? Is it not because of your interest in free money that even now, your eyes are yet to open until all your people are sent on exile to IDPs? You are not in the same class with Igbo in terms of industry and I am sure you're aware of that. Whether Igbo property worth trillions of dollars are in the north and west does not put Igbo in any marked disadvantage even if your lazy people decide to steal them. Igbo equally have property in Europe, Asia, North and South America. That is our nature and we do not put our belle before our lives. That is why we want our own country. Even now, did you not notice that your cow ban could not even work for one day? Why? Belle-before-life people. Even now, we all know that your pretensions for Oduduwaland is another Taqqya to put pressure on Fulani to leave Tinubu and co off the hook as they've already planned to do before 2023. We know your double-face lives Two-face people. So do not bring Igbo into your yeye Oduduwa phantom trick. It will not work. Even Fulani are smarter than you. That's why they could deceive you to power and now turn around in preparation to wipe you guys off the face of the earth. Mu-mu man, how many times did Igbo reject Buhari despite making Igbos VP? But once he dangles their cow meat before you, you sell your brain and shout Sai Baba. Don't you notice it when MitteAllah always refer to Yoruba as gluttons because of your love for their cow meat {belle-before-life} that you could not even boycott for one day? There is no single war in history won from the air. Air superiority only gives the infantry an edge over the opponent. You always need men on the ground to win a war. Even with the atomic bombs dropped on Japan, the Americans still needed soldiers on ground to secure the Japanese mainland as evidence of the defeat. |
